Re: Connection dropouts - AGAIN

Since last week (Tuesday) when I lost my phone line for a few hours after the storms and reported that, I had suffered much crackling on the line which has now, thankfully abated (fingers crossed). However, I now keep on getting DLM resets of my line/hub despite havinge good speeds now of 18DL/1UL and a noise marging of 6dB that drops slightly during the day. 
I reset my Hub yesterday afternoon and achieved good results but despite this, DLM have reset the line again only about 15 mins ago. It seems, at the moment that nothing is stable for more than a few hours!
A quiet line test is good or at least is no different to what it has been over the last eighteen months or so.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

until you get that line noise fixed you will continue to have connection and speed issues

    I have an issue that I could do with some advice with.
    This has happened a few times over the years but this time I am stumped.
    My homehub is constantly dropping connection, sometimes a few times in an hour and sometimes after 3 to 6 hours etc.
    I have had a steady DL sync speed of around 10.9 since the exchange was upgraded over a year ago. The connection dropouts began on Xmas eve with over 50 in a day. These connections have continued to drop since although not at this rate. The phone line also went of on a couple of occasions.
    My DL and UL sync speed had dropped a lot since. The UL has since recovered.
    I have spoke to the call centre, with the usual advice given. I have changed micro filters and even unplugged phones but this has made no difference. I did have a HH4 but replaced it with my old HH2 on Indias advice, made no difference.
    The line with the noise test seems fine.
    I understand that with a constant connection my BRAS profile will increase to how it was, the issue is that I cant get the steady connection needed.
    PLEASE HELP< ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY !!

    Thanks for the help. As suggested, I have connected the original HH4 to the test socket. Here are the results, the same as previous at the living room socket. What remains to be seen now is whether the line stays connected and in time this should return my original BRAS profile, is that correct ?
    I guess the next step if this happens is to connect to the master socket with faceplate on and see what happens?
    I have also ordered the accelerator plate.
    If the test socket is stable but issue return with the master socket I have a wiring issue ?

    Time Machine has to erase the external disk in order to make backups. Before setting Time Machine up, copy the files of your external disk to the hard disk of the Mac in order not to lose them, and then, set up Time Machine. The first backup will start automatically.

  • Can't log in with apple Id on imessage it's says no Internet connect try again...but Internet is in tact!!!!

    When I tried to log in to iMessage it continually gives me a no Internet connection/ try again. All the while my Internet is running properly, same thing is happening with my FaceTime. If you can help..I appreciate it ahead of time :)

    Settings/General/Reset   Reset Network Settings. Switch off.  Wait a couple of minutes then switch on and reconnect to your network in Setting/Wifi.
    Or.  In Settings/Wifi  Click tap on the blue arrow of your connected network.  Hit Forget this Network. Switch off. Wait a couple of minutes for the Server to disconnct at the ISP.  Switch back on then in settings/wifi  Log in again to your Network as per the first time you connected.
    iMessage and Facetime both append routing table entries.  These are sometimes lost during updates. Restting Network and rechecking your imessage and facetime should solve the majority of problems being asked here.

    What does this mean? I have been trying lots of things but nothing is working. When ever I click ichat this is the first thing it says "Host refused connection, try again later"

    What router do you have ?
    It is normally done by typing into a web browser at the URL bar the IP that the router shows to your Mac.
    It often includes a User ID and Password to be entered into a pop up that come s next.
    We send people to this site http://portforward.com/routers.htm
    Clicking on your device and then iChat in the next page will take you to a page that will tell you the defaults for your device.
    The last page will also go on to tell you how to do Port Forwarding
    We don't suggest using this as a first choice. We suggesting looking for and set UPnP if you Device has it.

  • Bluetooth connection dropouts, Mouse-MacMini

    I have been experiencing random connection dropouts between my Apple wireless mouse and my mid 2010 MacMini.  Connection dropouts typically last only a few seconds.  Battery swapouts and replacements seem to have no effect.  Anyone have an idea on how to isolate the problem to either the mouse, or the Mini?  I guess i could try the mouse on my MBP and/or G5 PowerMac.  I'm wondering  if this might be a fairly common problem?

    Well, after posting this question, i stumbled into the right discussion/community area, and found that the problem is nothing new.  One suggestion was to turn off Airport.  I turned Airport off, and now the mouse seems to be perfectly stable, smooth, and wonderful, as it was before i got the MacMini.

  • Intermittent Broadband Connection/Dropouts

    Hello all,
    I seem to be having a constant broadband issue where my DSL connection keeps dropping. Sometimes it will drop and reconnect within a couple of minutes, and sometimes it will take 5-10 minutes to reconnect again.
    I have replaced DSL cables, filters and phone extensions, but the line keeps dropping.
    When the router (BT HH 2) is connected the connection seems stable but the dropout connection issue is starting to get rather annoying.
    The line noise is good on the router and the actual line seems to be ok so I don't think that is an issue.
    I have spoken to a number of people in my local area too who are experiencing the same issue.
    What is going on?

  • Ipad disconnected from home network and now is not showing it for me to connect to again

    I live in a student house where 5 of us are all connected to the same house network. The other day both my Ipad and my laptop lost connection to the internet and I was unable to see my home group as an option to connect to on my laptop, but once i restarted the router I was able to connect again. However my Ipad still is not showing the option of my home network, even though it was previously connected to it for a couple of months prior. I know how to make all assessed networks appear on your laptop, but I have no idea how on my Ipad. Any suggestions please?

    Try restting your iPad.
    Reset iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off".
    If that doesn't cure the problem try Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings.

    There was another security release for Flash today as they are addressing some major security issues this week.
    I would recommend changing your Flash plugin to a click to play status. Go into about:plugins and click "Always Ask to Activate" for your flash player.
    However in your troubleshooting information:

  • Adobe Connect dropouts talking to Adobe Support in India

    This may be the wrong place to raise this. I don't usually use Adobe Connect. But this week I've been spending hours on the phone to Adobe technical support in
    India. They use Adobe Connect to see my desktop in an attempt to fix my problems (with
    Adobe Creative Suite 5 as it happens).
    What I found was that the Adobe Connect frequently experiences a network failure, causing the guy in India to no longer see my screen. He tells me this on the phone. I then have to wait for my Adobe Connect to notice that the connection has failed, and then go through the SHARE MY SCREEN dialogue again. This happens sometimes as often as once every ten seconds, but the connection sometimes lasts a minute or two.
    Adobce Connect does pop up a little box that says something like "Network connection failure" and has a button to "troubleshoot" it (or Cancel the session), but pressing that has no effect.
    The odd thing is that my internet service is pretty reliable and 4 Mbps. I have, for example, no problem downloading 50 MB files from the USA (I'm in UK). Unfortunately the Connect software tells me absolutely nothing about what has failed or how

    Yes, that indicator is simply advising that the connection between your PC and the Server has been severed. Either there was some disconnect on your end or on the server end or somewhere in between. That popup tries to reconnect to the Adobe Connect Server located in the U.S., Europe or Asia depending on where you reside. I suspect the support engineer was using a server in the USA and you are located in Europe and the latency along with anything going on on the line could have had some effect. Normally, you would be using a UK based server if you had an account with Adobe Connect. Hard to tell at this stage which server you were on. Next time, make sure the technician knows you are in the UK and request he/she use a UK based server which would improve things. He/she may not have known where you were calling from. If you send me your ticket number for the support call, I can have the technician make sure he uses a UK based server.
    It could have been a wireless network issue (too much interference or hub needs rebooting...all kinds of issues with wireless networks). It could have been your provider having momentary issues or it could have been any number of hops in between. The popup simply is saying the connection was interupted and it is trying again to reconnect the session.  Make sure you are using a wired ethernet connection to get the best reliable experience with any web conference solution.
    All web conference solutions require a solid connection because they are instant. All of these solutions are sensitive to any momentary interuption unlike any other product except maybe instant messaging systems that require all the time access/connection.
    Just for explanation, you really cannot compare downloading a 50 MB file with a web conference session because there are a whole lot of other thoings going on while sharing a screen. When downloading a file, many times packets are lost and re-transmitted with no communication back to the end user that a lot of the data was lost and re-sent. With web conferencing it's all or nothing. If a lot of packets are lost then you end up with latency issues and dropped sessions...again it gets into the quality of the connection and not the speed. Speed is inconsequential compared to the quality of the connection and how many hops you are going through.
    Sorry you had that experience. That is not normal. Many customers large and small use Adobe Connect for mission critical work every hour of every day without problem. But...it all gets down to the quality of the network and all vendors can and will have an issue like this if there is some network problem on their end or the customer end.
