iam trying to set up a release procedure and my conditions are based on some value of the po say for example 10,000 dollar by a certain buyer should go to release blck i am not sure what should be the charecteristics and values for that can some body also i need to have workflow that will go the approver please help

The release procedure for PO can be defined with whatever charecteristics that your business process needs. For example as you mentioned dollar value can be one of the charecteristic and also the buyer or purchasig group etc.. Please define the release strategy, group and code and ofcourse the class and the charecetristics needs to be defined and you can maintain the values for the release strategy

How system determines Valuation strategy in PP order confirmation.

Hello Experts,
i have maintained in valuation variant for valuation variant 006 and 007 strategies are 1st standard price 2nd moving price and 3rd plan price.
We have maintained two prices in material master one according to price indicator That is V in our case for eg 1000 per ton and other price which is standard price For eg 1200
Now while creation of production order my planned price according to valuation variant 006 is picking 1200 for a ton which is perfect but while doing confirmation and saving my production order system is not picking the strategy defined in 007 which same as 006 and its should pick same 1200 instead of 1000 but not happeninng

The System will take either Standard Price or Variable price but it will not take the values at time even though u maintain both the prices in material master . if its is taking the standard Price than your material may be Semifinshed or Finished good s
For Semifinished & Finished Goods --- Standard price is taken into consideration
For Raw Material - Variable price is taken into consideration ,,,,
Varable price is not consideration of HALB&Fert as in the the priceses are updated by the variable price inthe raq material when we perform Costing Run ...

Escape Release strategy based on purchasing group

Dear Experts,
In our system, PO release strategy is set up,
But, some of the POs are not subjected to release strategy because they belong to a perticular Purhasing Group (P01).
Where this set up is done?

Hi Shashidhar,
In your system it seems there is a characteristic created for Purchasing Group, if you want it activated for a particular Purch Group, then please do the following
Determine the strategy that you want to be called ( You can see any existing PO to find it out), once done, you need to identify the characteristics and class
SPRO-MM-Purchasing-Purchase order-release strategy, define release strategy, select your strategy and go to details and click on classification, in case you get an error and not able to, click on release pre requisites, come back and then try again, in classification you will get to see the various characteristics maintained and also the class name at the top.
Once you have done that, please go back to the node Edit Class, please put the class that you obtained earlier and get the characteristics for Purchasing Group.
Then go to the node Edit Characteristic, put your characteristic name say PO_RELEASE_EKGRP, Click on the tab values, and add your Purchasing group here and save it.
Then go to transaction CL24N, provide the class, and select the release strategy you are interested in, and select change, and detail, there for the characteristic for Purchasing group, you can add the previously added Group, and you are good to go.

In spro -->produciton -->Capacity requirements planning -->Capacity levling and evaluation -->Strategy -->Define sequence and layout keys .. here u can add a field ..this layout key is later used in Planning profile and this planning profile is used in Overall profile .. thus while executing capapcity leveling selecting that particular Overall profile ..

Planning strategy for Both scenario of Make to order and make to stock

My client having Both scenario of Make to order and make to stock ,so please explain me step by step which Planning strategy is use for following situation
1.Forecast the production quantities for the variants and create the PIRs
2.sales order is created for variants
3.Planned independent requirements should consumed by incoming sales orders
Note:If it is MTO scenario i need sales order reference number in production order

Hi,
You can Define Strategy Group under SPRO>Production>Prod.Planning>PIR>Planning strategy-->define st.Group.
In this step, you group strategies together into a strategy group. You can determine a main strategy as well as up to seven alternative strategies.
The main strategy is proposed in demand management or in sales order management and can be overwritten by another planning strategy defined in the strategy group.
You can allocate the strategy groups to the materials directly in the material master record, or you can allocate the strategy groups to an MRP group and then in a second step allocate the MRP group to the material in the material master record.

Configuration planning Strategy task bwtn PP/SD Consultant

As we known, planning strategy is incdluing two elements( requirements type for PIR; Requirement type for customer requirement) path:SPRO>Production>Production Planning>Demand Management>Planned Independent Requirements>Planning Strategy>Define Strategy)
In you experienced project, if PP consultant was in charge of config "Reqmts type for indep.reqmts" and SD Consultant shoud be in charge of Config"Reqmt type of customer reqmt "?
or PP Consultant should be responsibled for two parts configuration? including(Reqmts type for indep.reqmts/Reqmt type of customer reqmt).
Please advice.

Dear ,
PP consultant is the in charge of Planning Strategy -Define Planning Strategy (SPRO) based on the Requirement Type(OVZH) and Requirement Class(OVZG) for for sales Item categoery under basic function of SD module .
Now , most of the parametrs which have activated or relevent from sales side (Req.Transfer ,Account Assingment Categoery , Customer requirement type , Order Type etc) are configured in OVZG by SD consutnat and same has been assinged to requirement type in ovzg .
Once you did this , PP consultant will decide on the Planning Strategy group in SPRO-MRP-PIR and check wether respective parametrs are flowed in that strategy .
So i would rather say , its a combine effort based on the clinet requirement .

From A - B its *@Inheritance(strategy=InheritanceType.JOINED)* and from A - C its *@Inheritance(strategy=InheritanceType.SINGLE_TABLE)* by default. When I try to run some test Toplink doesn't identifies class C as mixed strategy but expects C to have its own table as the super class A is specified with Joined strategy. Not sure how else would mixed strategy work !
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My understanding is that all classes should use the inheritance strategy defined in its parent class - there is no way to have two strategies used on a single parent class.
If you are aiming to get 3 classes (A, B and C) to use two tables (A, B) you might instead try specifying the root (A) to use SINGLE_TABLE. B will then automatically have an entry in Table A, and Class B can then be defined to use the B table as well by adding the @SecondaryTable(name="B") annotation to it, specifying the joincolumn if the primary key field names are different. A and C will then only use Table A, B will use Table A for inherited attributes and join to Table B - be sure to explicietly define the table to be used in any mappings on B that you wish to use Table B, otherwise I believe Table A will be assumed as it is the primary table.

Release strategy purchase order workflow

after release strategy defined ,
i configured role on relesae codes in img.
1. If I (functional people and me) define release strategy, I have assigned the roles, then if purchase is created , the work item goes to particular agent inbox or not ?.
Because there is any further configuration is there after release strategy is defined,
Now, I configure workflow only for to send mails to particular release code persons.
I want this clarification.
2. For rejecting POs is there any EVENT.
I found RESET event for rejecting POs, is it correct.

Hey,
You need to use business object BUS2012. Do a where used list from transaction SWO1 and you will find the standard workflows delivered by SAP. You can either use these or create a new workflow.
Event ReleaseStepCreated can be used as an triggering event to send emails when a PO is created. If you want to trigger an email only for specific release codes you need to evaluate the release code in your workflow.
Event Rejection_start for evaluating Rejections.

Cost Center based Release Strategy for PR's

System :4.6c
At this time, we have PR release strategy with classification configured for over all release.
Created a new characteristic for cost center , assigned the values for the cost center characteristic, with zeros at the beiginnig.
Now when I create a PR with multiple line items and with multiple cost centers, the system is not deriving the release strategy defined. But if I create multiple line items with the same cost center, the system is able to find the right release strategy.
Does it have to be the same cost center in all the line items to trigger the right release strategy?

Hi,
Looking at your question it seems you are using overall release strategy. If the characteristic value is not same for all line items then during overall release strategy determination, the system uses "BLANK" value for this characteristic.
In order for a release strategy to be found, when you have different
cost center in different PR items you need to add a blank value to your allowed characteristic value for the cost center in your release strategy. Also use Account Assignment Category (KNTTP) as one of your characteristics and define K as an entry, so that release is triggered only when it determines cost center blank with account assignment K.
But if for diff cost centers there is diff strategy then you better opt for Item level Release.

Hi Himanshu,
You can have single cycle plan as well as the Strategy Plan.
in the single cycle plan you can have only one cycle for all the operations which are defined in the task list, where as in the startegy plan you can have different cycles for all the operations in the Task list but make sure the startegy should be same in the task list and in the Strategy Plan(IP42).
Example you have a Strategy define in the unit of days in the T-Code IP11 and you have define different cycles like 7days, 15 days, 30 days, 60 days Etc.
now you are using the same Strategy in the General Task list IA05, and you have operations as 10,20,30,40,50,60........and so on.
In this condition when you are in the header of the Task list, you can find the staretgy field where you give in the same startegy defined in IP11.
then in the operations screen you can see an Icon at the bottom named as "MntPack", this is for maintenance package, if you will click here you can understand that all your operations can be assigned to 1 or more packages, for which they will be called in the Maintenance orders.
Now time to create the Strategy Maintenance Plan, now u use the T-code IP42and give in the same startegy as defined earlier and go ahead with the different entries, here if you will choose the correct Task list the system will accept and if suppose the Strategy of the task list does not matches with the startegy of the maintenance plan, the system will throw an error

i want to use strategy 70 assembly planning but at the same time to use gross requirements planning which means that i want to plan on the assembly level and Dependant requirements consume PIR but without taking warehouse stocks into account

In Sand Box
Create a requirement class as Y11 in OMPO
maintain consumption indicator as 1 & planning Ind as 2 Gross requirement planning and category as Planned Independent Requirement
Create a Requirement type Y11 and assign the requirement class Y11 in OMP1
and create a strategy Y11 in IMG>prdn>prdn planning>DM>pir-->planning strategy --> define planning strategy
and assign the reqmt type Y11
and assign the strategy in material master and check out result
If the result suits your business reqmt configure it in DEV system

Cancellation of release strategy

i have release strategy defined for purchase requisition and i want that when a post is deleted from the purchase requisition, the release strategy is canceled and must be released again.
How to setup this.

Hi ,
In the release indicator mention 4 for chageability and mention some % for the value change.
You have to check your scenario for the release indicator.
Also for change in value only Release strategy will be reapplied and not in any other case.

but i was not able to view the strategy in my easy access.
i dont know why.
its not in my options in mrp 3 view when i am creating a material?

Create a planning strategy group for newly created planning strategy.
Path --> spro/production/ materials requirements planning / master data / independent requirements parameters / plannign strategy / define strategy group.
Once this is done system should display newly created planning strategy in MRP3 view.

To make up a product we need some requirements in the form of demand.
This requirements are independent requirements and customer requirements
To create a demand Program the Demand Management uses PIRS and
Customer Requirements and we need to define a planning strategy
Planning strategy define the methods of production for planning and
manufacturing a product.Using these strategies we decide whether
production is triggered by sales orders or not ie MTS OR MTO
Requirements classes:
We need to define requirements class which contains control parameters
for planning and consuming the PIR and customer requirements.
This Requirements class is to be assigned to requirements type
By doing this we are indirectly assigning the control parameters to
strategy via Requirements type
This Requirements Type is to be assigned to strategy
Strategy should be assigned to strategy group
Strategy group is to be assigned to Material in Mrp 3 view or via MRP Group.
Preference will be given to strategy maintaine in MRP 3 View.
If no strategy is maintained here the system searches for the MRP Group
