Re-execute a single SQL Report on Multi-Report page

Hi,
I have a Page containing 3 reports and I was wondering if it is possible to re-execute only one of the these reports using a button or preferably a Select List which allows me to choose which of the 3 reports I wish to 'refresh/re-execute'. I may be totally wrong here but I assumed that choosing the option to submit a Page will cause all regions to refresh i.e. re-execute the SQL queries they are 'based on'. Any suggestions or correction to my assumption would be most welcome,
regards,
Kevin.

Each region query is along the lines of  'SELECT MAX(customer_nr) + 1 as customernrcnt FROM customer' and I was expecting that the count value being displayed in a region would increment as a result of changing/selecting a value from the List.
Is it realistic for me to see the results I'm expecting using this method?
Is there any activity in other database sessions that will result in CUSTOMER_NR being incremented? If not, then, no, there's no possibility of seeing any increase in the figures. If you have a sequence defined and report on that, then refreshing the reports will show a difference:
select customer_seq.nextval seq from dual

  • Single SQL call for both Report & Chart

    Hi everyone,
    I am pretty new to APEX and I am loving it :)
    I need to create a page with two region (SQL Report & Flash Chart) and both region data will come from identical SQL statement.
    Could I make them both get data from a single sql call, instead of making 2 identical sql call for each region?
    Thanks before for any help.

    Can't think of any practical way to use only one call. Best I can come up with it to create the query as a Shared Component. At least that way your using the identical SQL source.

  • Produce report NOT based on a single sql statement

    I want to produce a tabular report based on a series of sql statments. Specifically, a report of managers that wil include counts of employees that are in other tables using differing criterias.
    Name Count Count
    using using
    criteria 1 criteria 2
    Manager1 35 242
    I would expect to write an anonymous pl/sql block with a driving cursor determining the managers to report on. Within that cursor, I would execute a number of other queries to derive the count for each of the two columns.
    I have tried creating a report region based on a sql statement, but that requires a single sql statement. I also tried creating a report region based on plsql, but it required an into statement of defined items. This option looks like it can provide multiple rows, but since it selected 'INTO' named fields, it only creates a report with the last row of data.
    I must be missing something. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

    If you want a wizard to create the form and report for you then yes you need to have a table. One thing that you can do is define a view that contains the data you need and define an Instead Of trigger on that view so the automatic fetch and dml will work but you can have the data stored into the different objects. basically the view and the trigger work as a router/dispatcher for the data.
    *edit*
    I should also add that you can write a pl/sql package which does the fetch and the dml operations with the form items as input. This is the solution I would typically use for any form that was not a simple CRUD form for a table. One thing to note is for the fetch I prefer to use out parameters for the form items so it requires the developer to map the item to the param in the app so it will show up when you are searching through the app. I highly discourage hiding item references inside of packaged code.
    Good Luck!

  • Creating tabs for a single SQL report type region

    I would like to find a way to use tabs in a single SQL report type region. The problem I have is that there are too many columns to be displayed so the report looks very cluttered. I would like to find a way to assign say columns 1 - 5 to tab 1, 6-10 to tab 2 etc so the user can find the columns they need by simply clicking on the various tabs without having to execute the query again.
    I have looked at JQuery tabs but that seems to only be applicable to more or less unrelated regions. I tried to create different regions using the same query with different columns and that kind of works, but the regions don't stay in sync if say the user change the order for column 2 in tab 1, when they click on tab 2 everything displays in a different order.
    Another wrinkle is that this is an updatable report so some of the columns are updatable.
    I also looked at the hide / display column solution which is described in a few threads and that may also sort of work, but it is also not quite what I am looking for.
    Any help is greatly appreciated

    Does anybody know if this can be accomplished using APEX? What I am really looking for is very similar to an old fashioned client / server screen developed using say Oracle Forms. Consider an order line screen where say columns line number, SKU and SKU description is to the left of the tabs so these columns are visible no matter which tab is active. Then the first tab has say pricing information including UOM, quantity, list price, unit selling price, price list. The next tab has say customer information including customer number, name, bill to and ship to addresses. the next tab has say shipping information with say the warehouse, shipping instructions and shipping method.

  • Executing multiple sql statements from a single sql file

    Hi, I am Vijay Krishna.
    I want to drop user, drop tablespace, create tablespace and create user from a single executable file or a single sql file. The command should be in sequence. How can we achieve it? Can I anybody help me in this regard. I want this as soon as possible. It's urgent. Kindly post a reply.
    Also, how can we know the oracle home directory from a java program? The problem is we should know the Oracle home directory and use it for creating the tablespace. In the userinterface we will give just for a new database user creation. I will be really thankfull if anybody can help me in this regard.

    It is showing any error messages.
    I will diplay the entire batch file which we are using.
    sqlplus / as sysdba
    drop user examination cascade;
    drop tablespace examination;
    create tablespace examination
    datafile 'C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\oradata\orcl\examination.dbf'
    size 500M autoextend on;
    create user examination identified by examination
    default tablespace examination
    quota unlimited on examination;
    grant connect, resource to examination;
    exit;
    when i run the batch file from the DOS prompt it is entering into the sql prompt and coming out in a fraction of a second. We are just seeing a screen coming and going. But no error messages are being displayed.
    first we thought that as we are giving the create tablespace and create user in the same file we created another file and tried without having the create commands. Even then the user didn't get dropped.

  • Safari 3.2.1 on Leopard single call to cause Oracle report execute twice

    We have a web application that uses javascripts window.open(url) to call an Oracle rdf report and displays report result in pdf format. For unknown reason, the Oracle report got executed twice when only called once from Safari. It only happens in Safari 3.2.1 on Leopard, not in Safari on Tiger. Can you please shed some lights on how Safari works in this matter? Thank you very much, Steve

    Hi Steve,
    It's going to be impossible for anyone to debug with such limited information
    You're more likely to get some JavaScript experts chipping in if you can post some good examples of the code to demonstrate the problematic parts.
    Have you tried running the same code in Firefox with the Firebug extension to confirm the logic is functioning correctly? It's possible that Firebug might indicate where things are going wrong but for whatever reason the bug isn't exposed in Firefox.

  • Running Multiple SQL in a Single Worksheet: Can I Selectively Run a Single SQL and Append Output?

    In any release of SD, if I have a single worksheet containing 10 sqls. Is it possible to place the cursor on any of the sql and run only that sql, yet, append its output to existing output window. I can then select another sql and execute it and keep appending output. In other words, do not clear existing output or start a new output tab.
    As it exists today (in any release), I can either 'run script' which does append, but it executes all the sql (non-selective). Alternately, I can 'run statement' to selectively run a single sql, but it will clear the output window (or if pinned), start a new one. None of this is what I want.
    Thank you.

    Select the query you want to run. Execute it via F5. Then highlight the next query and repeat.
    The output will append to the Script Output panel.
    There's no way to get 2 queries to share a grid, unless you were to run them as a single query a la UNION.

  • How to Handle Dynamic Pivoting with a single SQL?

    I was searching for a single SQL who can dynamically understands the pivoting members in the data, I saw several ways of doing Pivoting depending on the version, some are really hard to understand but just two options upto now seams to be flexable enough to do dynamic pivoting, right?
    1- For this option you have to write PL/SQL block to build up the dynamic single SQL query, I also find this approach very easy to understand. :)
    http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0::NO::P11_QUESTION_ID:766825833740
    2- 11.1 's PIVOT new feature with PIVOT XML and ANY clause, a SINGLE SQL and easy to understand but returns XMLTYPE data, another step to parse to produce the report is needed.
    http://www.oracle-developer.net/display.php?id=506
    Below is a 10g Model Clause example, but here instead of pivoting by A1-A2-A3 staticly I want to have these values by a distinc subquery for example;
    create table test(id varchar2(2), des varchar2(4), t number);
    INSERT INTO test values('A','a1',12);
    INSERT INTO test values('A','a2',3);
    INSERT INTO test values('A','a3',1);
    INSERT INTO test values('B','a1',10);
    INSERT INTO test values('B','a2',23);
    INSERT INTO test values('C','a3',45);
    commit;
    SELECT * FROM test;
    ID DES T
    A a1 12
    A a2 3
    A a3 1
    B a1 10
    B a2 23
    C a3 45
    select distinct i, A1, A2, A3
    from test c
    model
    ignore nav
    dimension by(c.id i,c.des d)
    measures(c.t t, 0 A1, 0 A2, 0 A3)
    rules(
    A1[any,any] = t[cv(i),d = 'a1'],
    A2[any,any] = t[cv(i),d = 'a2'],
    A3[any,any] = t[cv(i),d = 'a3']
    I A1 A2 A3
    C 0 0 45
    B 10 23 0
    A 12 3 1 Any advice is appreciated, thank you.

    Hi,
    You can do dynamic SQL in SQL*Plus, also.

  • Need help understanding MS SQL Server 2008R2 and Report Builder 3.0 and user access / priviledges.

    Having Problems with connections and access.  I have spent the last 2 days reading various threads regarding SQL Reporting Services pertaining to access and connections.
    First, let me explain what I have done to date.
    1)  I am using Windows 7 - Home Premium.
    2)  I downloaded and installed MS SQL Server 2008 R2 Express.  This was successful.
    3)  I downloaded Report Server 3.0 - This was successful.
    4)  In IE, I tried logging onto http://servername/reports, but this failed.  After logging into IE
    via ' Run Administrator', I was able to access URL.
           Next, I updated the security / trust sites as explained in the
    threads
    Next, I went to Folder Setting and added my user name and granted all roles (Browser,
    Content Manager, My
    Reports, Publisher and Report Builder).
    5)  Now, I can log into Http://servername/reports using my normal windows 7 user account.
    6)  Next, I opened Report Builder 3.0.  However, I am having trouble connecting to report
    server.  I tried connecting with
    http://servername/reports, but this failed.
           However, If I change URL to http://servername/reportserver, it works.  BUT NOW, I have
    another problem.  When I
    execute the RUN button to create report, I get a  permission
    error.  "PERMISSION GRANTED TO USER ARE
    INSUFFICIENT FOR  PERFORMING THIS OPERATION".
    7)  Finally, I can not save reports to http://servername/reportserver when I select "Recent
    Site and Servers".  ERROR
    MESSAGE:  UNABLE TO OPEN OR SAVE REPORT
    8)  In my Reporting Services Configuration Manager:
    Web URL = http://servername:80/ReportServer
    Report Manager URL = http://servername:80/reports.
                What is strange, the Report Manager URL works for IE URL and WEB URL works for
    Report Builder connect (Even though it really does not work).
    THREE QUESTIONS:
    1)  What URL should I use to connect in Report Builder.
    2)  How do I update my normal Windows 7 user so I can run reports when I connect to report
    builder.
    3)  How can I save my reports so they are displayed in IE Reporting services.  Note:  I was
    able to save report to
    documents folder and import into IE Reporting Services.
    4)  And finally, is it possible to add report builder 3.0 as a tab in my IE Reporting Services.  I
    save seen samples of Reporting Services screens where the instructor has Report Builder
    tab.
    Thanks
    Dan

    To answer question 1... it should connect through /ReportServer
    http://bretstateham.com/reporting-services-architecture-diagram%E2%80%A6/
    Report Builder 3.0 is not a web application, it is a client side application can be used using the click-once or downloaded from Microsoft's website.  If you are having issues, you might download and install it and try running it as an administrator.

  • Multiple SQLs INSERT in a single SQL with O.Lite on PDA

    Hi,
    We are using(and new to) Oracle on PDA, dvlping in JAVA. We need to increase performance and reliability to make multiple INSERT in a single SQL statement, dynamically created :
    We've got a syntax error when executing this :
    INSERT INTO t1 (row1,row2) VALUES ('x','y');
    INSERT INTO t1 (row1,row2) VALUES ('a','v');
    INSERT INTO t1 (row1,row2) VALUES ('e','r');

    Hi Praveen
    If your use case is like having large no. of data rows and inserting those into DB. I believe best appropriate way would be form a xml and then pass it to DB. While in DB, you can create SP and perform your logical steps(if any) thereafter inserting data into table.
    The above link shared by Muzammil talks on the same subject.
    While once within SP(DB layer), you can fetch entire xml using below example:
    DECLARE @data XML;
    -- Element-centered XML
    SET @data = '<data>
        <customer>
          <id>1</id>
          <name>Name 1 </name>
        </customer>
        <customer>
          <id>2</id>
          <name>Name 2</name>
        </customer>
         <customer>
          <id>3</id>
          <name>Name 3</name>
        </customer>
        </data>';
    SELECT T.customer.value('(id)[1]', 'INT') AS customer_id,
           T.customer.value('(name)[1]', 'VARCHAR(20)') AS customer_name
    FROM @data.nodes('data/customer') AS T(customer);
    The above run will give you output from xml in single shot.
    You can also find maximum no. of rows as below.
    declare @max int
    select @max = @data.value('fn:count(/data/customer/id)','int')
    select @max
    I believe above should help you around with your insertion...

  • Can this be done using a single sql......

    Hi,
    I have a problem to solve an was just wondering if it was possible to do it using a single sql. It is not imperative that I use a single sql but would like to know if it were possible and if so how, else I would appreciate if I was guided in the general direction where I may be able to find a solution....
    1) Esstentially in this example an employee can have 3 types of managers 'A' 'B' or 'C'.
    2) the emplyee must have 1 and only 1 manager of type 'A' (it is imperative that an emp have a manager of type A)
    3) the employee can have multiple managers of Type B and C but it is possible that the emp does not have any manager of type B and C
    We need a report which compares all the type B managers of an employee to the type A manager of the same employee and if any one of the Type B manager is same as the type A manager then the report indicates 'Equal' else the report indicates 'Not Equal'. if there is no type B manager for the employee then the report should show is as 'Not Equal'.
    The same comparsion need to be done between type C and type A managers for the employee...
    here are the scripts you would require to create a dummy table with data
    ?SCRIPTS START?
    create table emp (empid number(3), mgrid number(3), mgr_type varchar2(1))
    insert into emp values (1,3,'A')
    insert into emp values (1,10,'B')
    insert into emp values (1,14,'C')
    insert into emp values (2,15,'A')
    insert into emp values (3,10,'A')
    insert into emp values (3,10,'B')
    insert into emp values (3,10,'C')
    insert into emp values (4,12,'A')
    insert into emp values (5,2,'A')
    insert into emp values (5,2,'B')
    insert into emp values (5,3,'B')
    insert into emp values (6,1,'A')
    insert into emp values (6,5,'C')
    select * from emp
    ?SCRIPTS-END?
    EMPID> MGRID> M
    1> 3> A
    1 > 10 > B
    1 > 14 > C
    2 > 15 > A
    3 > 10 > A
    3 > 10 >B
    3 > 10> C
    4 >12 > A
    4 > 12 > C
    5 > 2 > A
    5 >2 > B
    5 > 3> B
    6 > 1 > A
    6 > 5 > C
    6 > 7 > C
    Expected Report
    emp_id>     mgr_type_A>     mgr_type_B>     mgr_type_C
    1>>>     3>>>          Not Equal>>>     Not Equal
    2>>>     15>>>          Not Equal>>>     Not Equal
    3>>>     10>>>          Equal>>>          Equal
    4>>>     12>>>          Not Equal>>>     Equal
    5>>>     2>>>          Equal>>>          Not Equal
    6>>>     1>>>          Not Equal>>>     Not Equal
    at the end of the day the report is to be exported as an xls. I would be using java to connect to the DB and create the xls. Obv I could run a simple sql and do a lot of comparision in java and get the desired report... What I am looking for is
    - Is it possible using a single sql.
    - if not.. is it better to use a pl/sql procedure or do it using java code.
    the table has abt 100,000 records .... performance is not really a factor right now...
    I just have no idea where to look.. I thought of pivot tables but could not find a solution... thought of decode as well... but again to no avail... (i am not oracle expert by any means....)
    Appreciate any help I can get...
    Thanks...
    PS: Have used > to seperate the data.. since the preview of the post was truncating all spaces between the columns and was making it difficult to differetiate the data....
    ooooppppsss....just realised i should have put this in the PL/SQL forum.. dont' seem to find an option to delete the post.. so if someone can move it to the other forum... it would be great....

    Well, there are no moderators here, so you are going to have to get your answer here :-). Most of us that hang out in PL/SQL are here too.
    Assuming that 4>>> 12>>> Not Equal>>> Equal is a typo because there is only one record for empid 4, this works. There may be more efficient ways but ...
    SQL> SELECT a.empid, a.mgrid,
      2         NVL((SELECT 'EQUAL' FROM emp b
      3             WHERE b.empid = a.empid and
      4                   b.mgrid = a.mgrid and
      5                   b.mgr_type = 'B'), 'NOT EQUAL') bmgr,
      6         NVL((SELECT 'EQUAL' FROM emp c
      7             WHERE c.empid = a.empid and
      8                   c.mgrid = a.mgrid and
      9                   c.mgr_type = 'C'), 'NOT EQUAL') cmgr
    10  FROM emp a
    11  WHERE mgr_type = 'A';
         EMPID      MGRID BMGR      CMGR
             1          3 NOT EQUAL NOT EQUAL
             2         15 NOT EQUAL NOT EQUAL
             3         10 EQUAL     EQUAL
             4         12 NOT EQUAL NOT EQUAL
             5          2 EQUAL     NOT EQUAL
             6          1 NOT EQUAL NOT EQUALYou can format your code and data, as I did here, by using [ pre ] and [ /pre ] without the spaces around the text you want preserved. [ code ] and [ /code ] works too.

    You may need to configure the connection settings in the deployment descriptor (DbAdapter.rar # META-INF/weblogic-ra.xml) and restart the server. This exception is considered not recoverable, probably due to a modeling error.

    Caused by: java.lang.ClassCastException: can not be cast to oracle.tip.adapter.db.DBConnectionFactory javax.sql.DataSource.While creating the outbound connection pool in DBAdapter, make sure that you are providing the JNDI name of data-source (for example jdbc/aaaaa) in field XADataSourceName (if data-source is XA) or in field dataSourceName (if data-source is non-xa). It seems you are providing the JNDI of outbound connection pool (for example eis/DB/aaaaa) itself in the above settings.

  • Contact Service Queue Activity Report (by CSQ) Report SQL example

    I've been tasked to recreate the Contact Service Queue Activity Report (by CSQ) Report, with SQL in SQL Server 2008 RS, Can someone give me an example or actual sql for this report? I've tried to folllow the hints about joining in the documentation, however, my reported numbers are much higher than what the Cisco report is giving back.
    Thanks to anybody who knows where this sql is.
    Lyle

    Hi Lyle,
    Please refer the section "Restrictions with Generating Historical Reports" in the below UCCX release notes.
    http://www.cisco.com/web/ccbu/CRS/8/0/2/SU3/UCCX_802_SU3_Relnote.pdf
    CSCtj96987 : Reports unable to generate large set of records bcz of tmp dbspace limit
    Defect Description:
    Customers are unable to generate HR reports for a larger duration because of a limitation set based on first 10k records in CCD table. Many customers require to generate reports for a complete month which they are unable to do now in 8.x
    affected reports are :
    Abandoned Call Detail
    Aborted Rejected Call Detail
    Agent Detail
    Agent Login Logout
    Agent State Detail
    Detailed Call by Call CCDR
    Detailed Call CSQ Agent
    Additional Info
    1.     Customer may get runtime error if the temp dbspace gets full. HRC log will state clearly that the system ran out of disk space. This will happen if the customer is running reports for a very large set of data or running large number of simultaneous HR sessions involving considerable amount of data.
    2.     The temp dbspace is fixed at 2GB and cannot grow automatically when required. So, if the space is filled completely, HR reports will error out. The temp dbspace will be freed when the session ends. So, If you get run time error anytime, please restart HRC and try to generate report for a smaller period of time.
    3.     It is recommended to generate reports approximately upto 200,000 rows when a single session is running to avoid getting run time errors. If multiple sessions are running, modify the figure accordingly.
    4.     If the customer is running a single node setup, it is highly recommended to generate reports in the off-peak hours.
    Fixed in :
    8.0(2)SU2,  8.5(1)SU2,  9.0(1)
    You can think of upgrading your UCCX system to the above releases for this issue fix.
    Thanks,
    Anand
