Read data after check

Hi,
     Iam trying to receive data from a device.Receiver receives only when data is according to a particular frame structure.The structure will be in the form:-
                 1. Start byte-("F9A42BB1").start byte should be this particular one
                 2. The next 4 bytes for temperature and the next 4 bytes comming after this is for pressure
                 3. Stop byte-("B12BA4F9").stop byte should be this particular one.
       How can we make the following frame format using labview??Tutorials,sample VIs etc:- are welcome

      I started the above explained assignment in the following way:-
     1)First,made an input array,with start and stop bytes are given in the attached VI.
     2)In between start and stop bytes,we have given 8bytes(random values),these values have to be displayed in the thermometer and the guage, with the first 4bytes into   the
   thermometer and the next 4bytes into the guage.
     3)A second array has been provided.It displays the output properly,but the thermometer and the guage shows nothing
     How can this be made possible??what all changes have to be made in the VI to make the thermometer and the guage working??

   Try using this logic.This Code displays the list with check boxes. When you check a checkbox and press a button say 'Select All' or 'De Select all' or 'Display'. It will read the data of those records.

Error reading data after submit.

Hi All,
I have a problem getting some data after i submit a standard report FPO4.
Here the issue is with a file that is getting created by a dynamic report created and called internally by a report on the same path every time dynamically. say (/devabap/if/out/XXXX.0 for the first time and the next time we run the report file name would be /devabap/if/out/XXXX.1 etc.2,3,4,5,). I am now using the FM: FILE_GET_NAME to get the name and then proceeding further to get my output.
But when i am trying to use the above function module for a single run i am getting the correct result as ther is only one file present in the path.If i run the same report with different variants parallely in background then in the application server there are there are two or more files already created for two different run's as said above ( .0 and .1) the logic is such that i have to get the latest file and so a wrong file is getting picked up at the time of parallel run.
Note: When i Submit the transaction the ouput screen along with the data contains the File path & File Name as said above.I am trying to get the file name from the submit screen as the file is generated dynamically. For change in the instance (run) again there will be change in the file name. So system is not identifying the correct file. The dynamic program that is getting created and placing the file in the path is opened in another session (NEW) and hence i am not a ble to use any of the methods like ( SET/GET Parameters) also the IMPORT/EXPORT statements.
The flow of the execution is (Program A --> Standard Transaction B --> Dynamically created Program C --> File is getting created) . Here i want the file name that program c is creating in my zprogram A.
Could any one please advise?

How to read data after using the PRINT function in visual basic

I know the benchlink can capture the spectrum analyzer screen for me, but I want to integrate it into my application. I use NI spy to detect the communications from the benchlink and put it into my application. After sending the "PRINT 0" command, my "ilrd SpectrumAnalyzer, temp, 500" command doesn't work, giving me EARG error. Does anyone knows if it is because I can not define the temp to be string or some other problem?
b.t.w, the communications I get from NI Spy actually read some unknown characters from the instrument, what kind of data it is? Any idea how to use it?

Hello elm,
This is completely dependent on your instrument; if you are getting the data then you are halfway there. Look in your instrument's programmer's reference manual to see if they mention how the picture is encoded in bytes. There are so many different ways to encode a picture in binary that speculating and guessing would probably never yield the true result. If there is no mention in the manual, contact the instrument manufacturer.

Cross tab does not read data after a certain point

I am using CR10 and have created a simple table that reports hours by month - Jan thru Dec. The report displays data for the months of Jan thru April, but the data for May and onwards is not being read (it shows as 0 for these months). I have updated my registry to ensure that the timeout is disabled (value is 0) and that the MaxNBrowseValues is as large enough to cover the numer of records. The only anomalie is that there is actually a range of records with 0 values exactly at the point where the reporting gets weird, but towards the end, the records in the database actually do have non-zero values, but they are not being picked up by Crystal for some reason. I would appreciate any help you can offer.

I have checked the select statement, and there is nothing odd: the date range is a parameter entered selected by the user, and it includes 5/2007 and 6/2007 - and it seems that this range parameter is being taken by Crystal since the columns May and June both appear. This is strange in that if the values were truly 0 for May and June, the columns themselves would not appear. Both May and June have data posted in the database. All other months (Jan through April) show accurately on the Crystal Report.

Why tcp closed by peer when trying to read msg after the successful Listen?

Hi everyone,
I had trouble to read data after Listen function return a good connection ID. The embedded application is running in ARM processor and I build a PC application with Labview to read the device status via TCP connecion. There are required two TCP connections between embedded application and PC application with specific port to listen on each side. After exchange port number by UDP message, both sides know the destination port to send msg. I can send request to embedded apllication in one TCP connection then listen to other TCP connection for reply. By monitroing the traffic of network card, I can see the successful TCP open sequence and in coming reply data, but Labview application shows error 66 "network connection closed by peer" when trying to read data, which is quite strange. I already see those data with network monitor tool, such as wire shark.
Did anybody experience the similar problem? and provide some suggestion? Is it problem of configuration of Labview? windows XP? I am using Labview 6.1.

The problem was solved. It is timing issue. There is another while loop in code which sends heartbeat UDP message regularly for ervry 10 seconds, and this cause the problem of TCP read function. If I stop or remove this thread of while loop, the read function works fine. The UDP heartbeat message is only need to use once at first beginning to broadcast port number when setup TCP connection. Possibly I can send the heartbeat somewhere esle. I think the TCP error code 56 (timeout) and 66 (network connection closed by peer) is not distinguished in TCP read function. Actually LabVIEW distinguish between these errors very specifically. If you get an error 66 the connection was closed for sure, either explicitedly by the peer of implicitedly by the TCP IP stack after loosing the connection for to long such as when the Ethernet card would be disabled.
The issue most likely is that your client after sending back an open-package expects a specific response in a specific amount of time and closes the connection down if it does not get a valid response. Seems like a good measure to try to minimize the resources on your embedded target that need to be allocated when a badly behaving client is looping in a connection attempt.

How to check data after mapping for BPM if the mapping done outside BPM ?

> JDBC. I have 1 message mapping in between PROXY and JDBC.
and i have put the mapping outside the BPM (i didn' use transformation step). In case error happen. how i can see the data after the mapping ? i am always got difficulty to check the data if i have mapping outside bpm.

You have used mapping in interface determination of corresponding receiver determination. In transaction SXMB_MONI, open message corresponding to that receiver determination. There in left hand side you will see IS pipeline steps. There if you want to see message payload that is input to Mapping than see payload of any pipeline step before Request Message Mapping and test it in Design. If mapping fails you can see trace of the same step.
Request Message Mapping ---> SOAP Header ---> Trace
There you can see where your mapping failed.
And as rohit replied you can also get message from RWB.
For further clarification revert back to us.

Problem in reading data from serial port continuously- application hangs after sometimes

I need to read data from two COM port and order of data appearance from COM port is not fixed.
I have used small timeout and reading data in while loop continously . If my application is steady for sometime it gets hangs and afterwards it doesnt receive any data again.
Then I need to restart my application again to make it work.
I am attaching VI. Let me know any issue.
Kudos are always welcome if you got solution to some extent.
I need my difficulties because they are necessary to enjoy my success.

What do you mean, "not fixed?" If there is no termination character, no start/stop character(s) or even a consistent data length, then how can you really be sure when the data starts and stops?
I probably misunderstood you though. Assuming the last case is not ture - there is a certain length to the data - then you should use the bytes at port, like in the otherwise disastrous serial port read example. In this case, it's NOT disastrous. You have to make sure that you read all the data that came through. Right now you have no idea how much data you just read. Also, if this is streaming data, you might want to break it out into a producer/consumer design pattern.
Not fixed means order is not fixed, data from any com port can come anytime. lenght is fixed, one com port have 14 byte and other 8 byte fixed..
Reading data is not an issue for me as it works nice but I have a query that why my application hangs after sometime and stops reading data from COM PORT.

the problem is.. at the time of reading data from .txt file.at the step of Display Read Data it showing only 50 records, rest are not displaying.. but not showing any error.. so my question to our expert that is their any limitations for reading data... if their.. then how could it be elasticated...

the read step has a selection screen where you can define from which to which record you want read.
make sure this selection is empty for a test.
Further check if your source file has more than 50 records.
then make sure that you really read this source file and not any other version (check path and file name in step 7 of LSMW)

Can't read data CDs after upgrading to 5.0

After upgrading to 5.0, I can't read data CDs I've already made from any other programs. When I try to open one, Windows Explorer shows D: drive with no folders or files at all, and 0 bytes used/0 bytes available. I can still play DVDs and audio CDs. iTunes 5.0 opens fine on pc, and I can access/play music, but doesn't recognize my iPod or iPod mini. I'm afraid to download anything else until I get this problem fixed. HELP - please
I've used System Restore to go back to earlier version, and that lets me view/use CDs, but I can't open iTunes - message says some files missing, reinstall iTunes. I've tried to uninstall iTunes through add/remove, but the install shield disappears after starting.

Problem is obviously a software conflict, but I'm lost on how to fix it. And it's getting tiring installing upgrade to use iTunes, then going back to System Restore in order to back up data from other programs - plus I can't believe that's the best thing to do for the pc.
gaah. okay, the fact that a Syetem Restore gets your CD drives back suggests it's a registry issue, and also that we're either getting a conflict with other installed non-MS burning/ripping software

so let's try attacking both the ghosts of software present and past.
(1) what other burning/ripping software do you currently have on your PC? can you go into your "about" screens in the packages to let us know the precise version name and number? (the decimal points do make a difference, i'm afraid.)
(2) here are the standard MS troubleshooting documents on CD drive problems. it might be best to start with the

Hi,
After displaying ALV report output, if you want to update database table based on your selected record, then use the below logic in your User_command subroutine.
You will get the index of the selected record in rs_selfield-tabindex. using this index read the respective record from the internal table and move corresponding field to the table fields and then update.

Error reading data from Infocube using shell script.

Dear all ,
I am facing a problem while reading data from an infocube using a shell script.
The details are as follows.
One of the shell script reads the data from the infocube to extract files with the values.
The tables used for extraction by the shell script are :

The problem is that the file generation by this script (after reading the data from teh infocube) is taking an unexpected time of 2 hours which needs to be maximum 10 mins only.
I used RSRV to get the info about these tables for the infocube:
Entry '00046174', SID = 37 in SID table is missing in master data table /BIC/MCUSLEVEL2
Entry '00081450', SID = 38 in SID table is missing in master data table /BIC/MCUSLEVEL2
and so on for SID = 39 and SID = 35 .
Checking of SID table /BIC/SCUSLEVEL2 produced errors
Checking of SID table /BIC/SCUSLEVEL3 produced errors
Can you please let me know if this can be a reason of delay in file generation (or reading of data from the infocube).
Also , Please let me know how to proceed with this issue.

Hi ,
In continuation with searching the solution to the problem , I could manage to note a difference in the partition of the Fact table of the infocube.
Using SE14 -> Storage Parameters, I could find the partition done for the fact table as :
PARTITION BY: RANGE
COLUMN_LIST: KEY_ABACOPA
and subsequently there are partitions with data in it.
I need to understand the details of these partitions .
Do they correspond to each requests in the infocube(which may not be possible as there are 13 requests in infocube and much more partitions).
Most importantly, since this partition is observed for this onfocube only and not for other infocubes, it is possible that it can be a reason for SLOW RETRIEVAL of data from this ionfocube( not sure since the partition is used to help in fast retreival of data from the infocubes).

I need to read the flat file and it looks like like this .

I have to check the file :-
Validation are 1st line should start from 0 else it should raise an error and insert that error into one table .
The for 2nd line also same thing ..it should start from 9 else it should raise an error and insert that error into one table .
Then the 3rd line should start from 1 else it should raise an error and insert that error into one table .
After that i have to do a validation like i will read the 1st line 2nd column .. It should be like this BP-V1 else raise an error and insert that error to a table . Then i will check the 3rd column which is 20100928 , it should be YYYYMMDD format else same thing ERROR.
Then like this for all columns i have different validation .......
Then it will check for the 2nd line 3rd column . this is an account no .1st i will check it should be 12 char else ERROR .Then I will check that what user has imputed in the form.Like for example User putted 111111111 then i will check with this 000111111111 which is there in the 2nd line . I have to add 000 before that Account no which user imputed .
Then the lines which is starting from 1 , i have to take all the 2nd column for all the lines which is starting from 1 and i have to do a sum . After that i have to compare that sum with the value in the 1st lines ( Starting from 0) 6th column . It should be same else ERROR ...
Then same way i have to count all the lines which is starting from 1 . Then i have to compare with the 7th column of 1st line . It should be same . Here in this file it should be 9.
