Read email using APEX

Hi,
Now APEX has some good API to send out emails -- but any idea how to retrieve emails from mail server using APEX or pl/sql packages?
Basically something to retrieve emails to database table and use APEX to build a UI to read them.

It describes a Java stored procedure to read emails which is wrapped by a PL/SQL wrapper. The posting is written in German, but you can use a translation service like Google to read it in English.

Can't read email using my primary apple email account

Ok, I'm new to this forum but here is my problem
Usually I can read Email using my primary Apple E-mail account BEFORE I updated my Ipad into IOS 8.
After I updated my Ipad into IOS 8 (non-jailbreak and from IOS 5 jailbreak), My Ipad says that I need to sign up an Icloud email to use the Mail App.
Then I can't use my Primary Apple Account as an E-mail anymore. When people send a mail to my primary apple account, I cant read it because I cant read emails using my Primary Apple Account anymore.
When I signed in with my primary apple Email account and opened my Mail App, It used my Icloud email instead my primary apple email.
I tried everything Include making an email aliases but my primary apple email uses @Yahoo.com and I can only use aliases of @Icloud.com
Can someone please help me so I can read E-mails when people send an Email to my primary apple account? Because I need to see those subcription mails and change my password of my online game account(<- This one is URGENT).
And sorry for my bad English because I'm Indonesian.

Welcome to discussions,
go to settings/mail, contacts.../your mail account/outgoing mail server settings/ and see if you put in the needed password to access your mail server.

How to read emails using javamail

hello friends
well i am working on a project on phishing for that i had usinf javamail to read out the mails while i open my any email account while i working on the net .
actually what i want is whenever i open my account my program could detect the mail and it will it work after that
so can anyone please help me out in doing this means my first problem is how to get my program get linked with that so that everytime i opem my email account (not specific) i can use the message stuff written in that for my further use

i could not understand your problem exactly.
if you mean you want to check the new messages count: you can simply used
int newMessages = folder.getNewMessageCount();if you are reading mails first time using javamail.

My font size changed in Firefox when trying to read email using yahoo email. I now have to use explorer to read my mail. can you tell me how to return back to the readable size font. thank you

I have been using firefox for years to read my email. recently the size of text became small and hard to read. I would like to get the text size large again, so I don't have to use the other browser. I have a att yahoo email account and subscribe to at&t uverse for internet service.

I tried both of your suggestions and neither one worked. I found the solution by clicking on the "View" button, then "Reset". This put my email back to the original font/text size. Somehow the screen had been Zoomed in, so to change it, follow the instructions above.

Firefox keeps blocking my ability to read emails using chtah. It doesn't start like this but it eventually blocks the code. this interferes with my email.

Firefox blocks the code CHTAH, which is used by many of my email contacts to load pictures. This is not something that happens right away but over time. I need to delete Firefox and all saved information and reload the software in order to read my email. This has happened with several versions of Firefox and several versions of antivirus products.

I am in need to send emails using APEX 4.2. I have seen under page processing there is option called Send Email. But really not sure how to make use of it. My requirement is to trigger a mail on employee's birthday. Following is the screenshot.

Read date from an email using sender mail adapter.

Hi All,
I am working on a scenario, which reads emails from mail box using POP3 protocol and Mail adapter. How to get the mail attributes like received date? I have to take some decisions based on that field.
Also can we tell to move that mail to different folder in that mail box after successfully read? it is like archiving folder in that mail box.

Hi Hari,
You use IMAP4 (Internet Message Access Protocol) to retrieve e-mails from a folder of an e-mail server.
You use POP3 (Post Office Protocol Version 3) to retrieve e-mails from an e-mail server.
AFAIK, you have to use IMAP4 protocol for moving email to another folder are reading email successfully. And i don't think POP3 will allow this functionality.
Regarding email date , If you maintain Message protocol as XIPAYLOAD you will receive all header details(Subject , TO ,FROM ,CC,DATE ,etc ) in your payload.

Can I use APEX directly read/sync with the Oracle Tables ?

We have a Oracle Database to manage the design data.I am trying to setup a web-based front end using APEX to manage & monitor the parts ordering & logisitics.I want to drive the master data directly from the database without any export or data transfer ? Can I directly read or Link an Oracle tables from APEX application.
Also,once this is setup,I am looking for setting up some data entry fields to enter Purchasing & Logistics information.Hope I can achieve this using APEX !

Glad that I can use the existing Oracle db schema with APEX.I am not sure if there is any information as how I can connect or link my production schema to the APEX ! I was able to import .csv files & use XL data to create some test databases & play with APEX..but,I did try to go thru most of the instructions & guides to find how to use the production oracle tables,but,could not find anything particular...Please send me a link or material info.
I suppose I can then use which ever attribute or table data that is required to build the queries ! I am planning to use the production data to build the ordering & logistics application using APEX.Assume I can create new fields & columns for parts that will be ordered & capture/record the purchasing information like Purchase order numbers/Supplier Info/Target Delivery dates etc...
- Am on very tight schedules to get this application up & running ! Is there any support team or a technical support team that I can call upon if I need any help ?

Using Mailx to read emails - Simplify the view

I've just started using the mailx program, from heirloom-mailx in the core repo, to send and read my emails. This is great, no more extra cruft that I have to wait load and I can pipe any results of commands straight to my inbox. My queery is regarding the format of messages. Is there anyway I can not display the headers of emails when I read them?
I dont mean the "headers" that are displayed when the program is run to show the new messages, I mean the info when you open a message, like "From", "Delivered-To", "Return-Path" etc. Some of these are useful, but some are so long that my message starts right down the bottom of the screen. The best solution would be to customise this to display only "From", "To" "Date" and then the message, but as I've just seen all that on the original screen, I could manage without.

Recently purchased a Mac and data transfer for e-mails only showed the email preview but does not open up the body of the email or attachments. So I down loaded my inbox, and folders to a thumb drive. this will open correctly on the window pc but the mac is looking for the approriate app to read this data.
Could the Apple store remove down loaded emails and then reload from the thumb drive?

Attaching a BI Publisher report to an email from Apex

Hello,
My Apex application runs reports using a BI Publisher server- using a defined query and rtf template.
The end user clicks on a button and a pdf report opens up- works perfect.
Now, I need the click of the button to send an email having this report as an attachment.
I am familiar with sending email from Apex + attachment.
My problem is to create the report somewhere on the server without opening in a new browser window, then to attach the report that has just been create using BI Publisher to the email.
Does anyone know how this can be accomplished?
