Real-Time i-Cube load behavior changed after transport
Dears
After the transports compleleted, the Real-Time i-cube load behavior is changed. All the 'can be loaded, planning not allowed' were changed to 'can be planned, load not allowed'. What happened? How I enpackage this type R-T i-cube? Any suggestions are appreciated.
Best regards,
Gerald
Hi Gerald,
you can switch it back to the enable loadind of data, using the "Switch Transactional Infocube" option you get when you right click on the Infocube.

BI 7 real-time cube load behavior changed after transport
Dears,
After I transported real-time cube from DEV to QA system, I found that all the real-time cube load behavior changed from 'can be loaded, planning not allowed' to 'can be planned, load not allowed'. What happened? Or I'm enpackaging this type cube with wrong step? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Shadow Behavior Changed after Pro Update
I have a finished 3D animation that was done just before the update.
It consists of a person standing on top of (perpendicular to) a flat plane. A stationary spotlight is casting a shadow of the person onto the plane as the camera is animated rotating 90 degrees around the front of the comp. I have about 12 of these comps with different people for the duration of the animation
Prior to the update the shadow's behavior was unchanging throughout the animation for every comp. Now, after the update the shadow seems to blur/fade in for the 1st 45 degrees of the animation for some. For others it stays blurry/faded for the whole animation.
What gives?! Is anybody else having issues with casted shadows in 3D comps? Thanks everyone for your input.
I have finally been able to fix the problem, but I have no explanation of why it happened to begin with. After trying all of your suggestions for replacing cameras and lights I wound up checking my original comps lights settings.
I had set the shadow softness to '20". For some reason Motion was interpreting this differently between updates. Going back to the original comp and setting the shadow softness to "0" brought everything back in line to it original behavior (i.e. no behavior change on animation).
While I'm glad to have solved the problem I believe that this is a bug in the software that needs to be addressed.
Thanks again guys! -
Menubar "Time Connected" behavior changed after recent updates
Hi folks I have been using my AXBS (11n with USB) with an DSL connection.
You can choose to display the time connected from the drop-down list from the Airport icon on the Menu bar.
Before this upgrade (Utility 5.5.1 and firmware 7.5.2), the "time connected" shows the time of your current DSL connection, meaning i choose "Disconnect" from that Airport drop-down menu then the AXBS will terminate the current DSL connection and dial up a new connection -- and from this point, the "Time connected" count will be reset to zero. Therefore this is a time count for a single DSL connection duration. It has nothing to do with how long the router itself has been up and running.
But after the current upgrade (Utility 5.5.2 /w fw 7.5.2), drop the DSL connection and redial will not reset the "Time connected". But if you unplug the router's power and re-plug it, it will be reset. That means the "Time connected" is now counting the time the router has been on and running.
Since I have another Macbook pro in the same which is still running the old Airport Utility -- i did my experiment with the old Utility -- results are same with the new Utility. Then I suppose it is a firware thing.
Guys is there anyway to make the "Time connected" to work the way it used to - just showing the duration of one DSL connection. This is important to me. Because my connection speed drops after keeping a connection alive 2 - 3 days - i need to disconnect and re-connect to revive the internet connection. Thanks a lot.Dylan Neild wrote:
Seeing this as well.
"Time connected" used to show PPPoE session uptime. It now shows device uptime.
Definitely a bug. I filed a bug with the bug tracker so hopefully they fix it in the next release.
Yes I filed a bug too. But it seems Apple doesnt care much about their Airports and i guess it will be a good freaking wait until the next FW update. -
Process Chain behavior changed after SP upgrade
Hi all, we've recently updated SP from SAP_BW 700, SAPKW70016 to SAPKW70021.
We realized about a particular process chain behavior:
We have many process chains configured to execute the next step "Always" (whatever it happens with the previous process).
This is the situation which changed:
BEFORE the upgrade:
If error raises on a process, this one remains "red" but the subsequent processes continues.
Once repaired (repeat/repair from the PC) the "crashed" process it is updated to "Green" status.
AFTER the upgrade:
If error raises on a process, this one remains "red" but the subsequent processes continues.
Once repaired (repeat/repair from the PC) the "crashed" process it is updated to "Green" status.
The remaining processes are executed once again (a new branch is generated). <- This is different
I want the "BEFORE the upgrade" behavior to keep working as always.
Do you know if there's some OSS note or tips of configs available to set this as my needs? (we have found the OSS Note 1398868 and implemented it, but the "effect" is not as we should expect for this case in particular).
I hope you can help. Thanks in advance and best regards,
BernardoI've found the OSS note: Note 1473491 - Chain not continued with termination and "ALWAYS" link; delivered with "SAPKW70025" corrections. It seems to be solving the issue I've originally mentioned. I'll perform some tests on this and update.

ThinkVantage button startup behavior changes after Rescue and Recovery
I recently bought a Thinkpad X301 (2777-CTO). When booting my computer, I see the following message: "To interrupt normal startup, press the blue ThinkVantage button". Initially, when I press this ThinkVantage button on startup, I get a "Startup Interrupt Menu", pictured at http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/4773/startupinterruptmenu.png
This menu is useful since it allows me to either enter the BIOS, start Rescue and Recovery, select a device to boot from, or simply start normally. However, after choosing the Rescue and Recovery option once, this menu no longer appears. Instead, it goes straight to Rescue and Recovery from there on without giving me the choice to enter the BIOS configuration or select a boot device.
I find this new behavior problematic for a few reasons:
- The behavior of the ThinkVantage button at startup is inconsistent (a menu that should appear no longer does after running Rescue and Recovery once).
- There appears to be no straight-forward way of reverting back to the desired (original) behavior.
- The initial prompt on the power-on splash screen is now misleading. Although it still says "To interrupt normal startup, press the blue ThinkVantage button"; the way the button acts, it would probably be more accurate to say "To start Rescue and Recovery, press the blue ThinkVantage button" instead.
- This behavior breaks the "Option Keys Display" option in the BIOS setup. Although I enabled this option, which should cause the system to display which key does what (e.g., F1 for BIOS), this is not displayed.
- Running Rescue and Recovery results in a loss of functionality (instead of simply restoring the system to the initial state).
- And anytime I press the blue ThinkVantage button (as instructed) instead of F1 or F12, I end up wasting several minutes, waiting for Rescue and Recovery to finish booting before I can properly shut it down and try again.
This problem appears to have existed for a long time (since 2008; http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo-ibm/241845-thinkvantage-boot-menu-boots-straight-into-rescue-... ). However, the only "solution" that I have found is just a workaround: avoid pressing the ThinkVantage button (as instructed by the power-on splash screen).
The ideal solution would be to have a BIOS (or Rescue and Recovery) update which will prevent the ThinkVantage button from losing its original function after running Rescue and Recovery. I know that this is a minor bug, but this bug and another BIOS bug (in the network boot order menu, which I'll post after this one), which arose in less than a week after I received the computer, makes me question the ThinkPad's reputation for high-quality engineering.ThinkPad

FYI: DefaultSelect behavior changed after Adobe update
Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard
Version: 8.2.2
Windows 7 64bit
After a recent automatic update, opening Acrobat defaults the selected tool to the Select tool instead of the hand tool. I've tried the following:
a- I've been all over the preferences page to no avail - I cannot find a place to set the default select to the Hand tool.
b- I found some references in the Unix forum about making the Hand tool the default select. Acrobat though doesn't use a .adobe folder.
c- I located the registry entry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\8.0\Selection\aDefaultSelect (yes, aDefaultSelect) which is set to Select. I changed it to Hand, but when acrobat re-starts, it sets it back to Select
d- I tried using grep on my users folder for DefaultSelect to see if there was a file-based setting forcing it to select
Auugh!
After banging my head for a few, I started playing with the registry settings until I hit paydirt. The problem seems to be caused by the setting HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\8.0\Selection\bShowKeyboardSelectionCursor - this was set to 0x1 (boolean true). This setting corresponds to a setting on the Accessibility preferences page "Always display the keyboard selection cursor". When that's on, it forces default select to Select, ignoring the Hand setting.
I must say - that was a frustrating endeavor - I hope others benefit from this little excursion. I don't know how that setting was enabled (I didn't do it), but un-doing it was painful.
Take care,
MarcThanks for that tip. I have been frustrated by this change. I really appreciate it.

Transformation dont show changes after transport
Hi i have a BI 7.0 and i use transformations in my model, but when i transport the transformations it change of IDs .
I`ve read that it is normal and when a transformation is transporte to BIQ or BIP it changes its ID....its technical name is not the same in BID and in BIP.
First question is ...i need to know if its possible to set in BI that the IDs must be the same in all systems or that cant be changed?
Second...i transport my transformation and i get no errors in transport but i cant see the last changes in BIP, the first time it transport well but after that the changes are not reflected, changed IDs could be the origin of the problem? or its a bug o system?
I hope somebody could help me.
RegardsHi Oscar,
are you sure the update rule/transformation is transported from dev to prd?
I'm thinking someone changed/created it directly in PRD.
As far as I know, the technical ID of an update rule/transformation gets transported too. So they should be the same across systems.
Where did you read it's normal they're different? -
Changes after transport are not reflecting in QA and Production
Hi All,
We changed two table settings in developemnt system table names are ALMBCADM & ALMBCDATA.
We modified the table technical settings as "buffering allowed but de-activated". After we transported the change requested in QA Prod enviornment ,the changes are not getting reflected in the systems. Technical settings in both the systems are still showing as "Buffering is switched off". What could could be the reason behind this???????
Regards,
PrashantHi Ashok,
I have checked the CR from SE01 from objects tab , and found these entries-:
Program ID Object Type Object Name
LIMU TABT ALMBCADM
LIMU TABT ALMBCDATA
Which I suppose is correct.
Please advise.

IDOC Sender Partner has changed after transporting Integration Directory ob
Greetings,
After we did a transport from QA to PR for a new interface (Intergration Directory) objects were transported,
The sender partner has changed to QA in all outbound IDOCs generated in XI PR.
I checked the adapter-specific identifiers and it is showing as production.
Any hint where I should check?Found it in the filesystem communication channel as QA and changed it to PR

Hi Friends,
This is the Scenario i need to implement, i have a real time data in APO which changes in regular interval of time, there is a process chain which runs for every 24 hours. Now the real time data is updated ofenly in APO as this is done BW should pick up the data from APO by running a process chain for certain interval of time, We are not sure of the time differrnce. So is there any process of automation on this scenario of loading real time data from APO to BW.
Regards
ChrisHi,
This can be solved by going with a virtual Cube.
You have to see the amount of data, whenever you go for virtual cubes.

Using Non cumulative key figure in Real time cube
Hi gurus,
I have used non cumulative key figure in a real time cube and when i tried to enter some data using RSINPUT ,it is giving an error and the data is not getting saved.
Can anyone please tell me how to use the Non cumulative key figure in the Real time cube .
Thanks in advance
Regards,
RavikanthHi Ravi,
Please make sure that when you use a non cumulative key figure iun your real time info cube, then choose a time reference characteristic for that key figure.
Then, this time reference characteristic applies for all the non-cumulative values of the InfoCube and must be the u201Csmallestu201D of the time characteristics present in the InfoCube.

Hi All,
In one of the requirements in BPS planning.
We are using the Exit function for validating the data.
In our function module we are fetching the data and two of the fields in the cube needs to be modified in the cube after completion of the validations.
I would like to know if there is any existing functionality or Function module in BPS planning for this for updating the Real-time Info cube.
Thanks

In the chapter where table xth_data is described more detailed this can be one possibility to validate your realtime IC.

Is there a way to create dependency on the real-time jobs
Hi,
We have around 80 real-time services running and loading the changed data into the target.
The process being used is
IBM Informix > IBM CDC > JMS (xml messages) > DS real-time services > Oracle EDW.
While using the above process, when ever there is change in the fact table and the dimension table, both the real-time services are loading the data at the same time into the target. This is causing issues in looking up data with the timing issue.
Is there a way where we can create a dependency and resolve the timing issue and make sure the lookup table is loaded and then the master table is loaded?
Please let me know.
Thanks,
CHello
With the design you curently have, you will have potential sequencing issues. There is no magic in Data Services to solve this.
You might want to consider building more complex real-time jobs that accept more complex data structures and have logic to process the data in dependency order.
