Rebate issue

Hello,
we are having an issue on the rebates.
The rebate report is showing a difference between manual accrual and settlement amount: the last one is greater than the first one.
(settlement amount > manual accrual)
settlement amount - manual accrual = x
But the customer ledger (FBL5N) is balanced, despite the error in the rebate report.
If we make a correction on rebate report, then the customer will have a open item in the ledger (FBL5N).
(if we make a correction on rebate report custom will have an open item = x)
How we can fix this issue?

I have never heard of a rebate taking less than ten to twelve weeks, in the US anyway.
A salesman can never guarantee anything like you said because he has no way of knowing what could cause a delay. Like salesmen everywhere he was trying to make a sale.
Do you have proof it was delivered and not lost in the mail system?
On the paperwork you filled out did it state how long it might take? On every rebate form I have ever filled out it had that info.
Did you keep a copy of the paperwork? It usually has a number or way to contact the rebate center if you have questions about your rebate.
Here is something I learned about any rebate offer. I have done some international rebates so this applies everywhere.
1. Don't spend the extra money unless you can afford not to get the rebate. Things happen that no one has control over.
2. Always keep a copy of everything you send in. There is usually important info there, such as contact numbers.
3. Never wise to make threats on a public venue, especially using your name.
4. I always treat rebates as a surprise. I always apply for them. Then a few months down the road I am pleased when all of the sudden I get a check. I have never been disappointed yet. I have had rebates take up to 4 months to clear.

    Hi All,
    I need to know only functional way (cant use update in pricing routine due to issues in business approvals) to tackle following Rebate requirement.
    Background of issue:
    User has created credit memo because the logistic discount was not correctly invoiced.
    However in this case the Rebate Accrual got reduced
    Reason:
    System must have thought that total amount of cases was returned physically and thatu2019s why rebate accruals are reduced).
    This is not correct because the Materials are not returned. The materials are still with the customer. Hence the rebate accruals should not be reduced in this case. The credit note is only written because of price differences and not because of returns.
    Example: to understand the issue better:
    Suppose we have Invoice with 100 CV and an invoice value of 100 u20AC.
    Rebate 1.) Shows an amount of 100 u20AC * 4% = 4 u20AC accruals
    Rebate 2.) Shows an amount of 100 CV * 0,20 u20AC = 20 u20AC
    Now we came to know that the 100 u20AC net invoice was wrong because of a wrong on-invoice discount. Hence the invoice should not be 100 u20AC, but 80 u20AC. However the 100 CV still remain (NO CHANGE IN QTY).
    The credit note should affect the rebates in the following way:
    Rebate 1.) Should show after the credit note: 80 u20AC * 4% = 3,20 e accruals
    Rebate 2.) Remains 20 u20AC accruals (100 CV * 0,20 u20AC)
    Requirement:
    We want that whenever credit notes are issued which that just price related (e.g. wrong logistic discount) and which do not have a material movement, the Qty-related rebate conditions should not be affected in that invoice.
    This requirement must have been used/tackled in all projects where rebate functionally is used.
    If anybody has still some confusion in understanding the requirement please let me know so that I can discuss it over the phone.

    actually the rebate basis can be updated for the quantity scale and/or value scale based on the document category assigned to the sales document type in customizing.
    I mean that except if you configured differently, actually are used the standard program for rebate calculation and settlement. Using the standard, a key field is the document category of the document type in customizing (table TVAK field VBTYP).
    For the below list of standard document category:
    A  Inquiry
    B  Quotation
    C  Order
    D  Item proposal
    E  Scheduling agreement
    F  Scheduling agreement with external service
    G  Contract
    H  Returns
    I  Order w/o charge
    K  Credit memo request
    L  Debit memo request
    W  Independent reqts plan
    0  Master contract
    For example, document type with document category C or H update both: quantity and value rebate basis; document type with document category K or L update only value rebate basis.
    If I understand properly, in your case when the user adjust the price via credit note, once posted to accounting, the reflect in the R.A. was in both direction: update of both quantity and value.
    Personal feeling is that the document type used to adjust the price was not correct and that this document type (as per customizing) is configured to reduce both: quantity and value.
    Did you check the customizing of the document type used to adjust the wrong discount?

  • Rebate issue- amount to be paid is reflecting as positive

    Hi All.. I have got this issue on rebate from client. While settling a rebate of a  customer when end user clicks on 'Pay' Radio Button (in rebate overview screen) in VBO2 some figures are coming as positive which should be negative as per rebate process. I have created replica of original rebate agreement and observed the following things -
    1) Checked condition type of rebate which has minus sign.
    2) Created some dummy orders and invoices and tried to accure and pay manually between the agreement period (before validity expire) to check why positive sign is appearing in Pay button but unable to get any positive sign.
    3) I just explain my research with example-- Say amount to be paid for Material 100 is -$30. When im manually accuring -$15 system is automatically generating credit memo doc. and i have created invoice of this document. But neither order nor billing doc is showing any net value its jus coming as 0 dont know why. when I check VBO2 again in PAY Material 100 is now -$45. Here accured amount is added to total amount to be paid for material. And next step is to pay manually. When im entering -15$ against Material 100 in PAY again system is auto generating credit memo doc and i have created credit memo after removing billing block. This time net value is showing as $15. Now when i check PAY in VBO2 system is showing amount of -$30 for Material 100.
    And the case is jus reverse if I put +$15 in manual accural. Here accured amount is subtracting total amount to be paid for material.
    But in both the cases system is not allowing me to accure more then -$30 or more then +$30. Then why end user has got the positive figure in the amount to be paid to the customer? This means that customer has to pay some amount to the co.  I have even tried creating return orders but it automatically adjusts the rebate amount to be paid to the customer,
    I hope you have understood the whole issue. Please give me ur views to this problem as I have tried everything.

    Hi,
    Next to the strategy it could be you have direct debits in your open items. They show open amount 0 due to the payment method filled in. Or maybe you have a lot of credits.
    It can have multiple causes but as Mark already indicated there is nothing wrong with the system. If you want changes in the amount to be collected calculation there is a badi for that but check your strategy and transactional data first.

    I know there is an ongoing promo where you can get a free itouch with the purchase of a mac computer...thing is, i didnt know about it until now. I actually got my computer in april, just barely a month before they started this promo..is there a way i could still avail of this promo?

    No, but if it's any consolation, it's really not that great of a promo. You have to actually buy both the computer and the iPod, then fill out a rebate form, which will refund the cost of the iPod about 3 months later.
    So, the whole point of these programs is that you're basically giving Apple a short term loan. They put that money, from you and all the other people who bought one, into various short term investments to try and make some extra money off it, so hopefully by the time they return your money in three months, they will have made several times that much. They also count on people who will forget to fill out the rebate form or fill it out incorrectly. I don't know about Apple, but a lot of times companies who issue rebates use special processing companies. They have X amount of money with which to pay out rebates, and once that money is gone the company files for bankruptcy, is liquidated, and everyone who hasn't had their rebate issues is just stuck holding the bag. Never go in for rebates on big ticket items like TVs. A lot of rebate programs are essentially your basic pyramid scam. The way you should look at rebates, is that it's a nice bonus. You would be willing to pay full price for the item in question, but if you get a rebate that makes it slightly less, even better. However, even if you never get the rebate, you are still fine paying full price. Make a habit of looking at the original price on ads, not the after rebate price.
    So don't feel too badly about it. When you start to read the fine print on these things, you find out it's not quite as good a deal as it seems in the marketing blurb.

  • $75 prepaid visa card not received

    Hello,I signed up for comcast double play in May 2015 which had a promotional offer of getting a $75 prepaid visa card. I have contacted customer service a few times about it and they have said things like wait 4-6 weeks, pay the first bill etc. It has been over two months and I haven't received anything. I see in this forum that several customers have had to really struggle to get these promostional cash cards. Has someone else faced this issue recently?

  • How Apple is dealing with the academic upgrade problem

    Evidently, many people have been surprised to find that they have no upgrade path from the academic version of Aperture to 2.0. Apple emailed a return authorization number to me and would refund the $99 upgrade price when I return the package.
    However I decided to pay for the full version of Aperture 2. I talked with a real person at the Apple Store by phone. Apple has had so many inquiries that they have a mechanism in place in which they will ship the full version for another $99 added to the original purchase order and will email a FedEx shipping label to return the upgrade package at no cost to the customer.
    I'm not happy that I couldn't continue my academic discount and have to buy the full version, but at least Apple acknowledges their mistake in not making the upgrade policy clear on their order page by covering the shipping charges.

    No, I was not able to upgrade from the academic version. I had to purchase a full retail copy of Aperture 2. All Apple has done is try to minimize the hassle and eat the extra shipping costs for not making it clear that academic users cannot upgrade.
    Because of the rebate issued to purchasers of early copies of both academic and full versions I'm unsure, but I think I've paid as much or more for academic Aperture 1.0 + full Aperture 2.0 as early buyers of full 1.0 + upgrade to 2.0. This was not a case of marketing genius by Apple...

  • Couldn't get it done. No DroidX for me.

    I tried to upgrade to the DroidX online. MyVerizon read eligible for upgrade "8.23.10" No way to get it done online.
    I called CS. I spoke with a very nice, yet seemingly uninformed agent.
    First off, it was stated I wasn't eligible, but they could make a special exception for me to upgrade. Then, the instant vs mail in rebate issue turned into a stopper. No, I was not going to do the mail in when others did not have to.  I thanked the agent for his time, asking him to note my requests in his call log.
    The CS agent soon called me back. Apologetically, he stated with further investigation it was found I could get the instant rebate. Great; back on track! Then comes the one year contract issue. Even though the Verizon site sells the DroidX at a one year contract price, the agent could not sell anything other than a two year contract. He mentioned that I would have to wait for my eligibility date to order the DroidX with a one year contract online.
    Same drill again, "Thank you sir. Please note our conversation in your log."
    Guess I'll wait a few weeks and see if the DroidX still has my interest then.

    Sounds like you got further than I did....   I went to the store.  My New every 2 is up on 7-25.  They wouldn't even move mine up 10 days.  And I WAS willing to sign a two year contract and didn't know I could ask for the instant rebate!  I was pretty upset that they wouldn't be flexible for a long term customer for 10 days!!!   Now that I know they would have been flexible for about 40 days AND give the instant rebate on top of that,  I am REALLY upset!!!   And on top of that,  the sales rep told me that by then the Droid X would be out of stock and he wouldn't know when they would be available again.  That made me feel like he was pressuring me to pay that extra $50 so I didn't miss out on the phone.  At this point,  I wouldn't pay $0.50 extra just out of principle!!!

  • Rebate Conditions issue (Pricing incorrect Order Viz Billing)

    Hi Forum,
    We have an issue with the rebate conditions.
    User has created a credit memo request (VA01) due to change in the Price. Due to this change rebate accruals have got reduced. The rebate accruals should not be reduced in this case, since there is no material return.
    There is a specific order reason while creating such credit memo requests Eg. ZXX.
    As a solution to this we have created a new routine AAA and assigned to the rebate condition types in Pricing procedure.
    This routine will function when there is a order reason ZXX entered in the Credit memo request (in VA01), therefore all the rebate condition types (assigned with routine AAA) will get deactivated in Conditions. This not change any accruals value. This is working correctly.
    The issue is -
    When the credit memo (VF01) is created, these condition types are again activated and accruals are posted.
    This should not happen. Pricing from the CM request (VA01) should get copied in Credit memo (VF01) completely.
    When we open the Credit memo we find all the conditions are activated and accruals posted.
    Is there any one who has faced the similar issue in billing documents where pricing data is not getting copied from Order conditions.
    Please help.

    Hi Sheetal,
    Suggest to make a seperate CR memo order type for cases wherein you don,t want reduction of rebate accruals.
    You would have to redetermine a new pricing procedure (create one keeping all condition type as are in Billing procedure except rebate) and assgin the determination of new PP basis the sales areacustomer PPOrder PP.

    We are using rebate agrement and for each billing doc an accrual doc is generated
    Sales ded Dr                   XXXX
    TO Rebate Accrual CR   XXXX
    assume 100 docs are posted during the period as above
    on year end fon inal settlement summation of above 100 accruals are reversed by system as under
    Rebate Accrual DR     XXXX
    To sales deduction     XXXX
    We have following issues:
    - system do not clear open items in Rebate accrual account
    - difficult to perform auto GL clear as cannot update assignment field with rebate agreement number.
    Need your help
    - is there process to perform auto clear or get assignmetn updated with agreement number.

  • Rebate Agreement Issue.

    Dear Gurus,
    My client's requirement is like this.
    Quantity and rebates are given below.
    Qty       Rs
    100     10
    200     20
    300     30
    400     40
    This rebate agreement is on monthly basis.
    If the customer buys 100 tonnes then accrual is 100*10 Rs.
    Like that he buys 4 times in a month, then each invoice accrual is 100*10 *(4 invoices)- 4000.
    But they calculate the rebate on cumulative monthly sales it means his sales should fall under 400 tonnes.
    So his accrual should be 400*40 Rs *(4 invoices)- 64000
    Can anybody guide me how to do this.
    Presently accrual is happening for Rs.4000, but it should be 64000.  Pl guide me to rectify the issue.

    What I can make out from this is that Is it possible for you to change the amount on each rebate record for example Rs. 400 for quantity 400.
    Does it serve the purpose or do we have some implication of it

    Could you plase advise about my issue which is related to rebare agreement.
    in my client theu are mainting rebates for trade promotion.
    that rebate is created in Jan 2009. validity from 01.01.2009 to 02.02.2009.
    they didn't given any accrual percentage. but hey given settlement percentage.
    as of now it is not settled it means still it is open.
    now they wants to close the rebate ageement without any settlement.
    when they are settleling it is showing the credit value...it is posting in customer master...
    i tried somany ways...which are below..
    there are two ways to close the rebate agreement
    1     i changed  settlement percentage is zero (o%)...
         here i am not able to processes completely  because of zero values willnot post in fi....here the rebate agreement ststus wll be
              " C "
    2       i deleted agreement, because it is old date it is not require to show afterwards.....
    3   please kindly advise me what is procedure to close the rebate agrement with out settlement.

  • 4 issues in Rebate Agreement

    Dear Gurus,
    While running the cycle of Rebate following Issues required feedback from Gurus.
    1. When running VBOF transaction and input the required parameter report show no result. Why plus what is the purpose of running this report before and after posting the invoice or etc.. ???
    2. I have two invoices that I have posted rebate basis amount is 3270+3270= TTL 6540, In agreement Amount is 2%, and in Accural column in put 5.
    So When I am "Sales Volume for Rebate Agreement"  it shows me figure like this
    130.80  PKR  2.000  %     6,540.00  PKR    6,540.00  PKR    327.00- PKR
    I believe 130.80 is a 2% of 6,540.00
    and 327 is a 5% of 6,540.00
    when I create a credit memo system take 130.80 value for the credit memo request.
    Than what is the difference in b/w 2% and 5 or 5% or in amount and in accural.??? pls explain.
    3. If I am going to settle the accural through vb(7 it gives me a message that no agreement is found, although I have put all the related input, but same If I will go through in the agreement i can easily perform the credit memo request and credit memo.
    4. Last how system will update the "Agreement Status" in control Data in the agreement, currently I am manually doing this.
    when I need to settle the account.
    Looking for the response.

  • ISSUE related to rebates

    hi all
    i have an issue with rebate settlement.user have done
    partial settlement of amount 1000 and final settlement
    of zero value at same date.but that he found that he have
    done mistake and no amount should be given to customer.
    then he canceled the partial settlement document-credit memo  and credit memo request by giving reason for rejection. but issue is in report syteme is showing open accrual.
    what i should do to revers the partial settlement accrual.

    What type of reason for rejection did use in your Sales order?
    What is your Requirement?
    If your requirement is to cancel the partial settlement completely
    Then you have to follow this procedure.
    Go to IMG screen,
    Sales & distr-Sales—Sales document—Sales document item-- Reasons for rejection.
    Click on reason for rejection. Please go through you reason for rejection which your user has used in Sales order.
    Enable NRP (Not relevant for Printing), BIC (Not relevant for Billing).Then save it and go to change mode of Sales document and you use this reason for reason for rejection in Sales order and save the sales order.
    Go to Document flow then it will show you the document is complete.It will not show you any open items.

  • Manual Accrual Issue in SD Rebate

    Hello Guru's,
    I have accrued amount A via Manual Accrual B4 Document type to the existing accrued amount B and posted the billing document to FI. But when i come back to the rebate agreement and carry out Manual Payment B3 or extended settlement B2, its not allowing me to do so, as it says that Function not possible: There are open documents relevant for accruals. It is allowing me to create B1 final settlement.
    Kindly Help please.

    In a normal Rebate, you should not use "Mannual Accrual". You should use either "execute final settlement" or "execute settlement via payment screen".
    Normally, we use the "Mannual Accrual" button in Retroactive Rebate Agreement.
    I feel, you should delete the document which has been created for settlement and settle through proper way.
