Receive error-1 at TCP/IP read - GPIB controller must be controller in charge

I have a stripped down version of Talk Module from the LV TCP/IP examples. All it does is execute one TCP/IP read of 512 bytes and reset the output error to no error if a timeout or close connection error occurs. I placed it in the main loop of my program so it executes one time each loop but I receive an Error 1 "GPIB controller must be controller in charge" when it runs. I then stop the program and get that same error from a different source before it exits. I know it works because I can set it up in a separate VI and it works fine. The program is controlling a GPIB power supply and a VXI chassis. Any ideas what could be causing the error? Thanks.
Jason

All the inputs are wired correctly and the connection is opened first. I am using hyperterminal on another computer to check out the connection. Sometimes after running the close connection VI, hyperterminal says the connection is still open. When the VI stops running, the connection is always lost and when the VI runs again, it seems to have no problem opening the connection on the same port. Thanks for the advice, I will check into it.

  • Receiving error "disk could not be read from or written to" during synch.

When I try to synchronize my iPod to iTunes, I get the following error:
"Attempting to copy to the disk [ipod name] failed. That disk could not be read from or written to."
This error occurs only when I have put about 0.5 GB onto my 4.0 GB model, so there's plenty of disk space. I have completely reloaded/reformated the iPod & iTunes software on both my computer and iPod on numerous occassions, but I have had no additional luck.
I fear that this might be an issue with the actual hard drive on the iPod.
    Can someone help?

  • Getting tcp/ip read errors when I receive an email

    Hi
I have been having problems with a copier that scans to email. My production GWIA is too busy to monitor so I brought up another gwia to test with the copier. Its across a wan and used to work just fine. If they scan 1-6 pages it sends just fine. If they scan 9 or more it connects, stays connected for quite awhile and then disconnects with out a file getting sent. The TCP/ip read err incriments. We took the 12 pages and sent to a desktop to see how big the file was it its 400kb. I can copy a file over the wan in ~30 sec. The connection for email stays up for much longer than that.
I checked the nic on the server and its clean.
Very curious why I get the read error when its trying to write the file.
    Thanks,

SMTP is a chain of commands and responses, alternating between sender
    and receipient.
    Example:
    GWIA: Hi, I'm here.
    Sender: Hello, I'm scanner.
GWIA: Hey, that's cool, how can I help.
Sender: Please accept MAIL FROM: [email protected]
    GWIA: Will do, go ahead.
Sender: And please send that mail to RCPT TO: [email protected]
GWIA: I know that one, so I'll happily take it.
Sender: So here comes the DATA
GWIA: Ok, go ahead and send it, line by line. Once you're done, please
send me a single dot on it's own line so I know you're doe with it all.
    Sender: Blabla, blabla.....
    more blablalala
    and even more blablaba
    Gwia: Cool, I have that.
Sender: Cool, we're done. So I QUIT.
    Gwia: Bye-Bye.
So now, if for some reason that nice little chat gets interrupted for
whatever reason, and at *whatever* stage, it simply depends on whose
turn it was to talk. If it was GWIA's turn to talk, and it found the
connection broken, you will get a TCP write error (because GWIA was
attempting to "write" something. If however it was the senders turn to
"talk", and it simply never did, or the connection broke down, you'll
receive a tcp read error, because GWIA was expecting to "read" something
from the other end, but nothing ever reached it.
In 99,999% of all cases, this is a low-lever TCP/IP communication
problem, regardless if it's a read or write error. Do *NOT* look at your
GWIA, you'll find nothing. Look at TCP/IP.

  • Error on ASA5505: "IKE Receiver: Error reading from socket."

    Hi,
I'm expecting a problem with the network of a customer.
He has one ASA5505 connected to 2 RV082 using VPN IPSec (1 top office and 2 remote sites).
Each sites have 2 internet ADSL providers: "Provider A" and "Provider B" for backup purpose.
The remote site 1 has the default connection using "Provider A" network on both sites (top office and remote site) and "Provider B" for backup purpose.
While remote site 2 has the default connection using "Provider B" network on both sites (top office and remote site) and "Provider A" for backup purpose.
(Kind of load balancing when all connections are working good)
When all "3 sites x 2 =" 6 connections are working, I doesn't have any problem and all is working good.
But since 2 weeks, the "Provider A" of the top office is disconnected: both remote site uses "Provider B" and are connected to the top office on
the "Provider B" connection. ("Provider A" is no longer used on every sites.)
This configuration works good until a short disconnection appear on "Provider B" connection on "Site 2".
Then I have many "IKE Receiver: Error reading from socket." on the ASA5505 syslog and the RV082 located on "Site 2" says it's connect but it isn't. (It is not possible to ping "site 2" from top office network.)
If I force this RV082 to reconnect, I can from the top office, ping "Site 2" and open a remote desktop session to the server located on "site 2".
But I cannot ping top office network from "Site 2" and I cannot open a remote desktop session to the server located on "top office"
(it's very strange I can ping from a A network to a B network but not from B to A).
Restart the RV082 of the "Site 2" and/or the ASA5505 does not fix the problem and I continue to get the IKE socket error message.
To fix the problem until next "Site 2" "Provider B" disconnection, I have to disconnect or restart the RV082 located on "Site 1" and then do the same to the RV082 located on "Site 2".
    I use updated firmware: RV0XX-v4.1.1.01-sp.bin for both RV082 v3 and asa843-9-k8.bin for the ASA5505.

  • TS3694 i was updating my iphone to 6.1.3 and received error code 6 would some help me with this error

im updating my iphone 4 to the latest update and received error code 6 would someone tell me what is this?

    Hello, Joyce.
Error 6 can be tricky.  It usually is related to a 3rd party software conflict like security software or a modification of your TCP/IP protocol.  It the article that you referenced, iTunes: Specific update-and-restore error messages and advanced troubleshooting, see the section labeled "Errors related to third-party security software".  Go ahead and try the first two of that section.  If that does not work an uninstall of your antivirus software or attempting to restore on a new computer might be necessary.  I have included the links to those steps below.

  • I have an iMac 5.1 with Mac OSX 10.6.8 and 2 GB memory and an L2 cache of 4 GB.   lately I have been receiving error messages of " start up disk almost full; please delete files." is the start up disk the same thing as the hard drive?

I have an iMac 5.1 with Mac OSX 10.6.8 and 2 GB memory and an L2 cache of 4 GB.   lately I have been receiving error messages of " start up disk almost full; please delete files." is the start up disk the same thing as the hard drive?  I opened the hard drive and from the column on the left of the menu I've selected "search for" and under that " all images" then "all documents"  I've deleted a few files from each. Are documents and images that I have deleted from here also deleted from the folders on my desktop?

You should never, EVER let a conputer hard drive get completely full, EVER!
With Macs and OS X, you shouldn't let the hard drive get below 15 GBs or less of free data space.
If it does, it's time for some hard drive housecleaning.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your iMac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you store images in other locations other than iPhoto, then you will have to weed through these to determine what to archive and what to delete.
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Delete any other mail in your Junk folders. Also, look through your Sent Mail to see if there is anything that can be deleted.
Other things you can do to gain space.
Once you have around 15 GBs regained, do a search, download and install OmniDisk Sweeper.
This app will help you locate files that you can move/archive and/or delete from your system.
STAY AWAY FROM DELETING ANY FILES FROM OS X SYSTEM FOLDER!
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Look in your Applications folder, if you have applications you haven't used in a long time, if the app doesn't have a dedicated uninstaller, then you can simply drag it into the OS X Trash icon. IF the application has an uninstaller app, then use it to completely delete the app from your Mac.
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
When you install and launch it, let it do its initial automatic tests, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run the maintenance tabs that let OnyX clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.
    Good Luck!

    hello *,
i am trying to get the sample apps. work.
i have installed oDbSrv.9i, m-Srv + mdk and mobile Client(win32 native) on the same machine.
i installed the samples by using the script.
each time i am trying to sync with msync.exe i am recieving one of the following errors:

i am using the following sync-infos:
    user jane

i installed another client (webtogo) on another machine.
everthing works fine until i want to sync.
the message reference says i have to look for bad communication to the mobilesrv..
i can ping, i can run setup, i can login.
even when i am starting to sync from the webtogoclient the clock which tells me the connecting to server state says done!
but in the next step (sync app-data) the noted errors occures.
can anybody give me a solution for this issue?
    thx

We have seen this problem before and it is most likely because you installed MDK, Mobile Client and Mobile Server on the same machine. Install Mobile Server and MDK on one machine A and Mobile Client on another machine B.
