Recently, I've stopped getting e-mails from businesses that have been sending me e-mails for years. This was after installing 10.8.3. What should I do to get these e-mails again?
Have you tried to erase your drive and reinstall the OS - you should use recoery (hold Command + R keys while restarting). Since the items in the menu bar are part of the system, a clean reinstall of the system should take care of it.
As it is dangerous to post private information in a public forum, I will ask the hosts to remove it.
FWIW, we are all other users here - you are not addressing Apple.

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

To repeat my question, Apple offered to install iCloud, and I allowed it. Yet when I try to sign in to iCloud using my Apple ID email and pswrd--an ID that I've been using for YEARS--I'm given the message, "This Apple ID is valid but is not an iCloud account." What is going on?
Everywhere I search on Apple's Support site says to sign in to iCloud using your "Apple ID," which I did. I've had my iTunes account for years (even migrated from the old AOL account system). It's the standard email+password that everyone is supposed to use.
My main question is how can I have a valid Apple ID and not an iCloud account--if the two are supposed to be linked?

tljI've tried both. First, I tried on my pc, where iTunes had installed iCloud when it last updated. I have iTunes installed on this computer (and on my iPad and iPhone), but that wasn't the issue.
So I went online, thinking I needed a separate iCloud Apple ID, but it prompted me for my current Apple ID and gave me the message about my ID being "valid" but not an iCloud account," which, lol, was what it had asked me to do in order to create one. I have an external hard drive that I have been using for years. All of a sudden my mac will not recognize the external as a "save as" device location. But the external does show up on my desktop and I can open it to drag and drop items. What happened and how do I get my mac to rerecognize the device?!?!?

Like I will be checking on an account { page is fine} go to a different screen then go back.... This is the fun part. The page starts off normal then all the sudden it shrinks and moves to the right side of the page with out me touching anything. I have had this happen to me a few different times and could not seem to get the help I needed. Look, I have SERIOUS problems with my MacBook Pro, a computer that was given to me by Apple to replace a MacBook Pro that was defective from day one. Now this fabulous machine from Apple is totally messed up since the upgrade to Mavericks. I've talked with "Senior Advisors" until I'm blue in the face, but NOTHING fixes this machine. So can SOMEONE out there PLEASE HELP ME?
I live in rural Ireland, I cannot drive because I was in a coma at years ago (although I could drive if I had 10+ DUIs), I'm over two hours from the closest Apple Authorized Repair, I'm physical disablled and mobility impaired, and I'm terminallly ill. So from where I stand, I really don't have time to sit around and wait. It took Apple 11 months to sort out the problem with my original MacBook Pro; I don't HAVE 11 months to wait for this problem to be fixed, but I've been waiting now for over 2 months, and my death clock is ticking.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

I entered the same password that I use for this particular email address in outlook and when I first set up Thunderbird and it work fine but when I went back to check my mail for this account in Thunderbird I get a password failed message now. I retype it several times and it keeps coming up failed.

(1) It is possible that your Adobe software was the result of belonging to a now-discontinued Adobe Print Service Provider program where for a certain annual membership fee, print service providers were provided with (a) both a Windows and Macintosh license to the Adobe print-oriented software products (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat) and (b) special direct product support as well as the ability to put your name on Adobe's website as a member of this program. The program ended over a year ago if I remember correctly.
(2) You may wish to contact Adobe Customer Support (not Technical Support) and see if they can track down any and all licenses associated with your company. If you have the names of the former employees who worked with this software, it would be helpful. Likewise, if you were a member of the discontinued Adobe Print Service Provider program, you may have some options for upgrading/updating the software you have.
Unfortunately, you cannot get any more definitive information about your situation on these forums.

My play lists and songs on iTunes and on my iPhone won't play. They are light grey instead of black and nothing happens when I click on the songs. All of the songs were either from CD's or from iTunes that I purchased. I have home sharing turned on. This is a new issue. It used to work fine. I tried restarting my iPhone and syncing with iTunes. Neither worked. Please help!
Try delete those songs using iTunes by de-selecting and sync. After that mark those songs and sync again.

Delete the email. The zip file will have no effect on your iPhone.
