Reconfiguring CHARM after System Migration

Hi,
We are going to migrate our existing Solman system to another system using system refresh, we have implemented CHARM which takes care of the Transport for our ECC and Portal Systems, my question is what needs to be done in the newly migrated system after the system refresh and what changes we need to make in our ECC System in order for CHARM to work in the newly migrated system.
Our landscape info
We have DEV,QA and Prod in our existing landscape with charm is configured in the Solman. Our Prod is the main domain controller and solman is the secondary domain controller, can some one explain me what needs to be done in the configuration after the system migration.

Hi,
Only hostname/ipaddress and SID name will be changed for solution manager. So for solution manager back RFC in ECC and EP systems you need to change hostname/ipaddress and instance number.
From SMSY try to update/read ECC and EP systems data. Check it is working fine or not.

  • Time machine after system migration

Recently my iMac (running 10.5.8) was stolen. Bought a new laptop (running 10.6) and restored my system from Time Machine. Worked perfectly! Problems started when I wanted to continue the backups from the new computer. First time I tried it after 7 hours it was stuck at 12% (when system restore took 2-3 hours). Other times I tried it it got stuck at the stage of "calculating changes". I tried changing the name of the computer to start a completely new set of backups. That didn't work either. I'm thinking of erasing the external drive (Iomega 1.5T, out of which 1.25 T is free) and starting over again. Any suggestions? How can I force Time Machine to start a new set of backups and leave the old ones alone?
PS1. How can I delete an *inProgress file? Standard delete doesn't work
PS2. Latest Time Machine Buddy output:
    Starting standard backup

OK, I got a new drive and started anew. I have about 250GB to copy. Although it starts very well (about 1 GB/min) after a few hours it becomes so slow that it's unworkable. After six hours it's stuck at 214.73 GB. This being the case, I will have to stop using Time Machine. I'll just occasionally copy the folders I need.
    Here's TM buddy output:

OK, I may have a large number of small files, but why should that be a problem? And why do I have this problem on the laptop when TM worked fine on my old iMac? Does the detection of system migration make a difference?

  • Slow urxvt launching after system migration

    Hi everyone!
I've just migrated my arch system to a new computer (I kept my home partition and backed up pacman's cache and /etc as well as a list of packages installed). I manually installed the main packages needed to set up my system, I didn't re install secondary software yet. However I'm having trouble with urxvt, it takes a few seconds to launch whereas before the migration it would just inmediatly appear. I'm using my old .bashrc and .Xresources, so the configuration is the same as before, also Xterm for example has no problem so it appears to be no problem with .bashrc... Based on what I've read it could be due to font loading, however I have no idea what my previous font configuration actually means:
    URxvt.font: -misc-fixed-medium-r-normal--15-140-75-75-c-90-iso8859-1
    URxvt.boldFont: -misc-fixed-bold-r-normal--15-140-75-75-c-90-iso8859-1
I must have copied that from some example or something and I don't know what it actually does...
Nevertheless, if I comment that out from .Xresources, it changes the font used, but it still takes a few seconds to load...
Anyway, any help is apreciatted, just for reference my .bashrc and .Xresources:

  • RFC Trust relationship no longer working after system migration

My enviroment 3 ERP 6.0 systems (DEV, QAS & PRD) and Solution Manager 4.0. All are on Oracle 10.2.0.2/AIX 6.1
Previously the systems were on  Solaris 10 before migrating to AIX enviroment via a heterogeneous system copy. After the exercise  I realised the following
    1. Trust relationship between Solution Manager & the satelite systems is broken. The CUA (Solution Manager is the central system( used to rely on these RFC's
    2. Early watch reports are no longer generated
Kindly advice how I can delete the trusted RFC's and regenerate from Solution manager transaction SMSY
    Thanks & regards

  • Password not accepted after system migration

    Hi
I just bought my mac air.  I previously had my macbook black and migrated my system through time machine.  When I was in the Mac store the attendant made a name in my mac air.  So it created a new account for my mac air.  When I migrated my system through an external drive, it asked me to create a new name.  So I did.  I was able to succesfully migrate the system and updated all my files in my new mac Air,  I also removed and signed out all my files in my old mac, since I was planning to give it to someone else.
Since I have 2 account name plus the guest account in my new mac air, the one that the Apple attendant made for me, and the new one which I made to put the migrated files from my old mac,  I decided to delete the account that the attendant made for me.  My problem is this: when the screen saver appeared and the mac air required a password, it didn't accepted any of the passwords that i previously used.  This only happened when I deleted the account that the Mac Attendant made for me, and when I started to delete and sign off all my programs in my old mac.  Previously my password was working fine.  Now I couldn't access my mac air.
What do you think happened?  I cant open my mac air, since the password couldn't be accepted.

See if any of these work for you.

  • Reconfigure STMS after system copy

    Hello,
I have 3 systems NPT, REC, PRD   NPT is the controler of domain
I have created on a new server AIX a new backup system which is the PRD's copy with the same system's name PRD
But now i can't import on this new server i have these messages :
prdadm       20140327152847 RFC: tp IMPORT all PRD pf=/usr/sap/trans/bin/TP_DOMAIN_NPT.PFL -
    Dimpdp_by_event=yes -Dclientcascade=yes -Dstoponerror=8 -Drepeatonerror=8 -Dsourcesystems= -
    Dbuffreset=yes -Dmainimp_proc=1 -Dbatch_proc=1 -Dstopimmediately=1 tag=spam -Dtransdir=/usr/
    sap/trans
i would like deleted TMS and created a new configuration with just 1 system  but now i can't because  for him the domain is NPT
    Thank you for your help
    Corinne

    Hi
You will need to delete TMS configuration on that system from the STMS transaction (should be done in client 000).
You will then be able to create a new TMS domain in that system.
To be able to transport the transport among these two domains you will need to create a domain link  => Domain Links (SAP Library - Transport Management System (BC-CTS-TMS))
Domain link is the only way to make transport to systems sharing the same SID.

After using "migration assistant" from my old iMac to my new iMac, some tools stick while using Photoshop CS 6 Extended. My current operation system is 10.10 Yosemite. I was wondering if UN installing then RE installing CS 6 might solve the problem. If this is recommended, I would need complete instructions on doing this. I have there serial number for the product.

    using migration assistant is problematic.
at this point yes, you should uninstall everything migrated, clean and then reinstall properly using the installation files.

  • System performance degrades after server migration ???

    Hi Friends,
System performance degrades after we migrate our BW 3.5 Server (Production) from UK to Germany.
    for details :
    1. Data is coming to Informatica server from Informatica its going to POSDM Server (Point of Sales Data Management) from POSDM we are running pipes and data is coming to BW (Delta Queqe)
so before Server Migration it was taking 2 Hrs to load 4 Million Records
After Server Migration it is taking 4 Hrs.
Please help out to find the reason for this.
Note : Server Ram , Hard Disk , Speed is same on both Servers
    Thanks
    Asim

Note : Server Ram , Hard Disk , Speed is same on both Servers
Are you cahnge any application or database parameter (the OS and all patch'es are the same?)
How you doing migration? Very low information... Are you check the network configuration are the same( for example check the network speed 1G or 100MB).
Are you trying to analyse the St03N and St04 t-codes?
    Regards.

  • Reconfigure DPM after migrating Sharepoint to another SQL Server

How can I Reconfigure DPM after migrating Sharepoint to another SQL Server?

    Hi,
    I have tried this.
When I removed the SharePoint datasource from Protection group there was no option to keep or lose data.
I ran ConfigureSharePoint -EnableSharePointProtection  and ConfigureSharePoint -ResolveAllSQLAliases , then refreshed view in DPM console and added SharePoint back to protection group.
The modify protection group screen showed success. looking in Monitoring, I see Consistency check failed with this error "DPM cannot continue protection for SharePoint Farm Sharepoint Farm\sqpl2008srv1\SharePoint_Config on spwfe1.internal.ermanz.govt.nz.
(ID 30184)" this followed with Recovery point failing as well and description was same error (as above).
I then removed the datasource again and created a new Protection Group and added SharePoint, but got same result. When creating the PG, it did not format space or do initial copy and CC's and RP's failed as before.
When DB's were moved to another SQL Server, SharePoint retained the same SQL name as before (uses aliases)

  • User password problem in RFC after system copy

    HEllo,
we have a problem in ECC6.0 after system copy (refresh QUAL system by PRD data).
BEfore doing this copy, we export RFC data (SM59 tables) of our QUAL system and after the refresh we reimport these RFC in our QUAL system. We don't want RFC comming from productive system.
After this reimport, RFC configuration is ok but we have a problem with RFCuser password. In the password box we have "inconsistent"...
Have you an idea to reimport succesfully these informations ?
    Thanks
    lionel

    Hello,
We performed another refresh yesterday. But unfortunatly it was not working. Password are still inconsistent.
This are exactly way we perform it:
    Before restoring DB :
export table via R3trans for tables:
RFCDES, RFCDOC, RFCATTRIB, RFCCHECK, RFCDESSECU, RFCSYSACL, RFCTRUST, RFCCMC, RFCGO, SXRFC, IBSSI_RFCDEST, PARAMVALUE, RSECACTB where ident LIKE '___/RFC%'
    export users via scc8
Restore DB, truncate upper rfc tables,  import rfc Tables
    Check SM59 => inconsistent
    Migrate Secstore => still inconsistent
Import Users via transport generated by scc8
    run scc7 as post actions
    Tuncatate/re-import rfc tables
    Check SM59 => inconsistent
    Migrate Secstore => still inconsistent
What else could be done ?
We have a lot of RFC. so re-enter all password is really a hudge task ..
    Thanks a lot for help

  • System Migration Check up

    Hi Friends,
We have planned to migrated our Production systems to a different hardware. Operating system and Database remains the same. Does SAP provides any Check on the system after this homogenous system migration ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Vimal

    Hi,
If you have got Enterprise Support from SAP, you are eligible to get some feedback on the migration process and post migration tuning. For this you may need to raise an OSS message to SAP support.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,

  • SM59 "Remote Logon" malfunctions after server migration

    Hi all,
Originally our BW server is running under I386 platform. And the server seems not powerful enough, so we decided to migrate the server to IA64 platform.
After we migrated the server to the IA64 platform, we've performed some basic checking, including SM59 check. But problem occurs.
After I choose one of the RFC destination from SM59, I CAN execute the "Connection Test" and "Unicode Test" correctly. But when I press the button "Remote Logon", nothing happens.
I've also checked for the developer trace and nothing can be found. So I have also updated the Kernel to the latest version but the result is still the same ("Remote Logon" malfunctions).
    Do you have any idea?
    Many Many Thanks.
    Best Regards,
    Marco

Oh - IA64 - x86_64 would have been as powerful (or even more) and cheaper but neverless - to your problem:
    > After I choose one of the RFC destination from SM59, I CAN execute the "Connection Test" and "Unicode Test" correctly. But when I press the button "Remote Logon", nothing happens.
Is the user provided a DIALOG user on the remote system? If not, then you can't logon.

  • T500 shuts down on its own after system update

    Hello all,
I have recently ran System Update to update some of the drivers and utilities on my T500.
After the update I suddenly noticed 2 extremely troubling side effects:
    1. (this is the least troubling) I Lost all the indication for the function key operation (e.g.. Volume control, brightness control, etc...). The function keys seem to work but there is no on-screen indication
    2. (and this is the most troubling) I noticed aafter leaving my computer on for a while (and leave the room) I would come back to find it turned off.
this happened in intervals of 15-120 min.
I checked the power options but everything seems to be as it was (my machine is set to "always on" regardless of power connection and I also turn off the hibernation option).
I even un-installed the lenovo power manager (it was one of the updated features) but that didn't help.
These are the items that I updated:
    system migration assistant 6
ThinkPad video features (AMD switchable Graphics(M8x)) for windows 7(32/64bit)
synaptics ultranav driver for win xp, vista and win7 - WW-
ThinkPad power manager (i uninstalled this one already- no change)
ThinkVantage access connection for windows 7
Thinkpad hotkey features integration package setup
WIFI Driver for Intel cards (for windows 7 64bit)
If anyone here ever encountered such problem or knows what is causing my machine to turn itself off every once in a while I would appreciate a tip!!!
I am running windows 7 64bit and I have TPfan control installed.
    Thank you all so much!!

I must say, also, that examining the list of updates in my first post,  my biggest suspects are (in order of prominence):
ThinkPad video features (AMD switchable Graphics(M8x)) for windows 7(32/64bit) - this can explain the heating as well as the disappearance of the OnScreen display BUT i tried starting the computer the other day with the onboard graphic adapter and the computer still crashed. puzzling...
ThinkPad power manager- as i mentioned before, i uninstalled this one already and there was no change but it might have screwed up the definitions somewhere because the computer was (beside all other symptoms) going into sleep mode despite the fact that it was set up as "always on" and "never sleep".
WIFI Driver for Intel cards (for windows 7 64bit) - that might be a long shot but its the one thing that is always running in  the background.
    does this make sense?
    do you have different suspects?
I am trying to share as much of my conclusions here as possible. i hope this helps.
    thanks again!
