Recreation of EM repository

I followed the steps from here http://www.almohem.com/oracle/dba/reacreate-oracle-entrprise-manager-dbconsole-emca-config-dbcontrol-db-repos-create/
But after connecting with sysman, i tried to drop that queue table
SQL> conn sysman/sysman
Connected.
SQL> exec DBMS_AQADM.DROP_QUEUE_TABLE(queue_table=>'MGMT_NOTIFY_QTABLE',force =>TRUE);But i got 'identified DBMS_AQADM must be declared'.

set your environment to the DB where you would like to recreate the dbconsole and run:
emca -deconfig dbcontrol db -repos drop
emca -config dbcontrol db -repos createif you want to delete all the data first you can do the following(please do on a test environment first):
alter user SYSMAN account lock;
drop user SYSMAN cascade;
alter user MGMT_VIEW account lock;
drop user MGMT_VIEW cascade;
emca -deconfig dbcontrol db -repos drop
emca -config dbcontrol db -repos createRegards.

Hi,
I tried to recreat the Management Repository with no luck.
Oracle 11g R2 on RHLinux 5
Dropping the repository finished with no problem using the following command:
./RepManager rac1 1521 ron_1 -sys_password **** -action drop -repos_user sysman
Creating the repository failed:
./RepManager rac1 1521 ron_1 -sys_password qwer5 -action create -repos_user sysman

I think you found the solution for your previous post? ORA-12505 after implementing RAC One Node
However recreating the repository did not work (completely).
Do you have any info on this in the alert log/xml file?
Since you are on a one node RAC you may have to consider it as a cluster. See note How to manage DB Control 11.1.0.x for RAC Database with emca [ID 578011.1]

Recreate the translation repository

After a database problem our dba dropped apex and installed apex again. After the new apex installation I imported the apex application for the primary language (=APP_ID "1" is german) and the translated application (=APP_ID "11" is english). Then I wanted to check the tranlation repository and saw, that the translation repository was empty.
So I used the utility "Seed translatable text to translation repository". When I looked at the apex page "Manually Edit Translation Repository", I can't find my translations. All words in die APP_ID "11" are in "german".
Is there a possibility to synschonice the "german" and "englisch" application and save the results in the translation repository (=in the table "wwv_flow_translatable_text$") ??????

Yes you can but under ownership of oracle binary install user.
Pls read note i mentioned:-
it says:-
1) Find the current location of the central inventory
2) cat /etc/oraInst.loc
inventory_loc=/u01/app/oracle/oraInventory
*3. Copy the oraInventory directory to the destination directory* -- you need to copy to new location before making changes in oraInst.loc
4. Edit the oraInst.loc file to point to the new location

Recreating database where repository is located

Do to the way a database was migrated from one server to another i need to recreate a database to remove internal references to the old server. this database contains the owb repository. i am planning to take a full export, drop the database, recreate the database and do an import.
is anyone aware of any issues with this? ...i.e. dbid stored somewhere in the repository?

well...things didn't go as planned.
datapump errored out when i did a full export with the following:

11gR2 dbcontrol recreation fail,SYSMAN & Repository dropped completly

We are facing this Issue in our production environment, which we have two nodes are running in Windows 2008 Standard. We tried to do everything to recreate EM tool. but dbcontrol recreation fail while SYSMAN & Repository dropped completely

This is an incompleted info , e.x what value you have entered while dropping, I suspect this is because dbcontrol schema hasn't drooped on each nodes.
Login to each instance of database nodes and check SYSMAN user exist or not
I suggest open a SR since this is your production environment.

OEM repository 9i

Hi,
Could anybody explain me or give me some good link to understand the concept of OEM repository in 9i. I found something on Internet, but I have some question without answer. I appreciate if somebody could answer or give me some links which respond to these questions:
1) What the depenency between OEM repository and one agent of a database ?
2) If a OEM contains more agents (for 4-5 databases) is there any data lost if the OEM is recreated ? Must I recreate it in a particulary manner not to lose data in it and to be functional after recration ?
3) Could anybody send me some GOOD information about the concept of OEM repository ?
any other information about OEM will be appeciated.

I have some intelligent agent which are down and I want to restart them. When I do a Refresh on that node in OEM Console I get the message "Refresh Failed: VNI-4054 The Oracle Management Server is out of sync with the agent (<agent name>)". Initially I thought to recreate the OEM Repository. Now I am not sure that is a good idee. Thank, Paul.
... For the moment I saw that this error is still undetermined ... it must be treated as OERR: VNI-4040 Agent state is corrupted ... I continue with my research ...

Re-create/import repository

A colleague has created a virtual image of OBIEE 11g but is using a non-virtual database instance on their PC for the repository. I want to lift this image to run on my PC - is there a way to recreate/import the repository into another database instance (I'll probably create this on the image to keep it all together!)?

Why don't you export/import the schemas into the other database? You could hack the tnsnames file so that Oracle thinks it's the same TNS name.

Application is not working when changing of oracle server domain name

We decided to change oracle server domain name due to some reason .. we changed the domain name but application running on the other server cannot connect to this domain i don't know whats the problem . I change the enterprise manager ( emca -config dbcontrol db -repos recreate_) according to the new domain but some of the future not working like date,etc. can anyone help me how to rectify it plz.

EPM 11.1.2: Foundation Services config fails on Windows 2008 SP1 server.

Hi,
I installed EPM 11.1.2 on Windows 2008 SP1, 32-bit. The installation succeeded (no errors in logs). However, when I run EPM Configurator to configure Foundation Services, it fails.
Environment:
EPM Server: Windows 2008 SP1 32-bit
RDBMS: Oracle Enterprise Edition 10.2.0.4 (running on remote AIX 5.3 TL 8 server)
Oracle Client: 10.2.0.4 (full client install)
The configtool.log (see below) indicates that the program cannot find the reg.properties file. I checked the server and this file does not exist. The log file also reports non-existing classpath entries (not sure if this is related). The registry.log file (see below) reports a jdbc driver error: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00917: missing comma.
I submitted a service request with Oracle Support, but the support engineer said that installation and configuration errors are outside the scope of technical support.
Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. I downloaded and extracted the additional components. I have also dropped and recreated the HSS repository. Each time I have tried to reinstall, I have uninstalled all EPM/Oracle components, removed registry keys, removed EPM environment variables and removed references to oracle in the PATH environment variable.
I have tried installing/configuring HSS 11.1.2 on both Windows 2008 SP1 64-bit and Windows 2008 SP1 32-bit. The configuration error is the same.
I was able to get my SR reassigned to a different support analyst, and we are working on troubleshooting now.
If you can think of anything else to try, let me know.
BTW...on the 32-bit server, the page file maximum is 16GB (should be enough)?

Performance tuneup for a special DB (disable locking, check-pointing,...)

I have simple database contains key/value records. The program is a multi-thread application that iterate over records. Each worker thread read a record and after some calculations, replace it. The records are completely independent from each other. The following is my DBController class that share between all threads. Is there any considerations to achieve best performance?, For example I don't want any locking, check-pointing, caching,...overheads. I just want to achieve THE BEST PERFORMANCE to store and retrieve each record independently.

If you are writing and you need to recover in a reasonable amount of time after a crash, you need checkpointing.
If multiple threads may access a record concurrently, you need locking.
If you need good read performance, you need as large a JE cache as possible.
If you want to tune performance, the first step is to print the EnvironmentStats (Environment.getStats) periodically, and read the FAQ performance section. Try to find out if your app's performance is limited by CPU or I/O.
If you are reading records in key order, then you'll get better performance if you also write them in key order.
I'm not sure why you're using a TupleBinding to do Java object serialization If you want Java serialization, try using a SerialBinding.

Oracledbconsoleorcl service is not running ?

i installed oracle database and developer suite 10g and the service mentioned was working properly at the first time , but when i restarted the computer it did not work , and when i try to start it , this message appears
windows couldn't start the oracledbconsoleorcl service on local computer . for more information review the system event log . if this is a non-microsoft service , contact the service vendor , and refer to service-specific error code 2 .
what should i do ?

You probably got your IP via a DHCP and it changed after you rebootet your system?

you probably need to install a loopback adapter and recreate the EM repository:

Can someone please explain what causes this error:
OCA-30023: error fetching result set
[POL-3253] group file already exists
I am using Oracle Lite 8. I have created a view that returns all records from a table with the related data from other tables. Whenever I use this view in a query, adding a where clause with a date range, I get the above mentioned error. This only happens when the database is open in another application. If I use the view in a query without a where clause, it works fine, but I get more data than I want to view. The view is shown below.

Instead of using the default repository, I tried to log-in to a database on the local NT machine to recreate a new repository. Everything went fine afterwards.
We're all set for now but it would be nice to find out what happened to the default repository. Thank you.

The goal of the Oracle Migration Workbench is to achieve a one time migration, with the SQL Server DB being retired once the migration is complete. What you are looking for now is a replicaton capability to keep your SQL Server in sync with Oracle.

POL-3253 - Group file already exists

We have a daily process that converts MS Access 97 to Oracle using Migration Workbench. This has been working fine until we got the following error from the error.log file:
EXCEPTION :LoggingImpl._writeLog java.sql.SQLException: [POL-4202] can't update while select is active in read-committed mode
EXCEPTION : LoadTableData.run() : [POL-3253] group file already exists
Is there any site that I can look up this error message or can somebody please tell me what this meant? Thanks.
