Rectification for asset acquired thru manual JV

Hello Experts,
My Client has acquired one asset 2 years back by just passing a manual JV in books. the depreciation for which has already been accounted thru manual JV only.
now the requirement is to take the asset in Asset Module in current Fiscal Year so that the depreciation can be calculated and posted by Standard Depreciation Run.
Asset was acquired on 01.04.2012 at $500000
Depreciation posted for FY 2012 & 2013 @ SLM 10%
Now, we want to take the residual asset value in books and also the accumulated depreciation value and going ahead the depreciation to be calculated at 10% SLM i.e. $50000 PA.
Can anyone please suggest me how can I do this in system now?
Regards
Jyot$

Hi Jyots Tai,
Jai Maharashtra!!! ;-)
1. Asset you acquired in 2012 for 500000
2. Dep  in 2012 would be 37500 and in 2013 would be 50000
3. Solution approach as below
a. Create asset As01
b. Do post capitalization from Abnan
c. Value date in abnan should be 01.04.2012, doc date and posting date can be today's date
d. System will generate accounting entry as
Asset APC Dr. 500000
Accum dep  Cr. 87500
Revenue from post capitalization Cr. 412500
e. Reverse earlier JV as below
Revenue from post capitalization Dr. 412500
Accum dep  posted manually Dr. 87500
Asset APC postd manually Cr. 500000
f. Run afab from2014 as usual
I handled this case very recently
In e use the same GL accounts you used earlier for manual postings

  • Downpayment Request for asset

    Hi
I am new to Asset accounting.  I have a problem which says likes this at the time of a Down payment request creation:
    Message no. F5378
The asset number assigned in the purchase document
is different from the asset number entered manually
cannot be transferred, because the 'Asset number' field was hidden for the account in question
    System Response
In the first instance a warning appears, drawing your attention to the different account assignments. In the second instance an error message appears, because the asset number must be transferred from the purchase order but the necessary field is hidden.
    Procedure
If you receive the warning, check which asset number is the correct number for this down payment.
If you receive an error message, you must either choose another special G/L indicator for down payments so that it is possible to assign an asset number to the relevant general ledger account, or you must change or delete the the specified purchase document number. Only those purchase documents are allowed which are not assigned to assets
How can I solve this issue ?
    Regards,

    hi,
    Pls follow some point:
Complete the Fixed Asset acquisition process from a Payment.
Define the process from Payment to Fixed Asset Acquisition document to Fixed Asset Registry.
Manage and process the Fixed Asset Shell.
    Summary of Steps:
    Payment Processed via PRC
    Payment Disbursed in nightly batch
Fixed Asset Shell Created in a weekly Bach (currently after AD/EFT date reached)
Department Monitors Fixed Asset Shells from Fixed Asset Payment Request (FAPR) Table.
Departments update FA Shell with appropriate information to Fixed Asset Document
    Fixed Asset Shell Defined:
The Fixed Asset Shell is a Fixed Asset Acquisition document that has been automatically generated by MMARS after an eligible payment and disbursement have been completed.  It is used to record, better or increase the value of a Fixed Asset.  Departments will manage the Fixed Asset Shells via the FAPR table.  After processing the Fixed Asset Acquisition document information is updated in the Fixed Asset Registry.
To create a Fixed Asset Shell the Commodity and Unit Price must match or exceed the Fixed Asset Shell threshold settings defined for each fixed asset eligible Commodity Code.  These threshold settings are stored in the Commodity FA Threshold (COMMFA) table in MMARS and sorted by Commodity Code.

  • Derivation of Funds Center from cost center for Asset PR/PO in FM

    Hello Experts,
We configured new FM area and relevant BCS settings. It is working fine except PR or PO for Account assignment category A.
Issue: system is not able derive funds center from cost center in the asset master. cost center is not updated in EBKN table for Asset PR.
    we have maintained the following;
    1. Funds center is activated in Asset account assignments
    2. Maintained derivation rule with function module: FMDT_READ_MD_ASSET
    3. Derivation rule for cost center to funds center also maintained
If maintain funds center manually in PR it is working fine and consuming budget also.
Requirement: How derive funds center from cost center assigned in asset. I have verified all tickets raised in this forum, but nothing has answered my question.
Request you to provide solution for above issue.
    Thanks in advance for support.
    Regards,
    Chalapathi

    Hi Venkata,
You have two derivation rules, first related to Asset function module and second one is related to CC and FC combination.
You need to maintain the function module derivation rule first then you need to maintain the derivation rule related to combination of CC and FC. Because first you need to derive CC from asset master and then you need to derive fund center with reference to this CC.

  • Cannot write - up for asset for aquisition in the same year.

    Hi experts,
Currently I am doing SAP version 4.7, and when I try to post a write-up for the asset that I purchase the same year as my write-up financial year, system does not allow me to post. When I send this issue to OSS, they also claim the same that write up can only be done for asset that purchased in the past financial year. Is this true? because I believe that I've done some write-up for the same fiscal year of the asset being purchase maybe in previous version. Or do I need to reconfigured a new transaction type for this. Currently I am using transaction type 700. I just need a confirmation.

    Hi Mohamad,
In our version (4.6) it is not possible to do a write-up in the same year from the acquisition.
I had created a transaction type for only depreciation area 70. I don't see in customizing that it is possible to a write-up for an acquisitions from the current year.
Perhaps you can use an other depreciation key or start later with the depreciation.
When you have a lot of changes it is better to use manual depreciation and doing an upload from EXCEL with a LSMW

  • Down payments for Asset Under Construction

    Hi Experts,

    vinod

    Hi Vinod,
I hope that you are following Valuated goods receipt concept.
Valuated goods receipt: Asset will be debited at the time of goods receipt
Non valuated good receipt: Asset will be debited at the time of invoice receipt
If you follow valuated goods receipt concept, then at the time of making down payment, AUC should not be debited (whatever the value date/ capitalization date be). Please refer SAP note number 310368 (valuated goods receipt paragraph) for reference. In that they have clearly mentioned the steps to make down payment against asset under construction Purchase Order without debiting to AUC and without any error message. You have to make F5 378 message number from error message to warning message and in posting key 29 and 39, you have to supress the asset related fields. If you have done the above settings, then system will not show any error message to update G/L account in AO90 transaction code for the Acquisition: down payments and Down payment clearing - 2nd and 4th field or for AUC related fields.
Hope this helps. Assign points if useful.
    Regards
    Dwarak.

Please anyone help me out in making the balance with positive sign
Edited by: Rajeswari Palaniyappan on Nov 25, 2008 10:00 AM

    Hi Rajeswari
This is a common error that consultants make when implementing SAP Business One. There is no quick fix for this and the best is to create a new database and re-import all the transactions and masters. Make sure this time that the Display Credit Balance with Negative Sign is ticked.
Unfortunately this one tick affects the way amounts are posted to the journal tables & others and cannot be fixed manually. You could try raising a support message with SAP but I am sure they will tell you the same thing I have.
    Kind regards

  • Where can we see invoice doc. and payment doc. for asset based on its no.

    Dear all,
For a particular asset, based on its number, is there any report which shows invoice, payment and other relevant documents.
Can any of you suggest me on this?
    Thanks,
    Kumar

    HI
There is no direct standard report in Asset accounting for your requirement , but you can try the below--
Asset invoice means , if you have acquired your asset through raising a PO , then you have MIRO docnumber which is linked to Asset number, with the help of this FI document linked withh asset number  you can find out the invoice documents against assets acquired.
Go to Bseg and search with asset number fields  and doc type of MIRO I believe it will be RE ,it will show you the  invoice docuemnts against the selected asset , then search for the clearing docs against these invoices in bseg , that will be your payment document.
So now have asset number ,invoice number ,payment doc number.
More logic you may apply like search for the link through MM tables , since PO is also having asset number , just check the link of Asset number with various documents and tables, you may ask your ABAPER to create a report or query for this.
    cheers
    Mukta

  • Gather all cost for asset under construction

    Hi everybody
Please tell me the way to gather all cost for asset under construction. You can detail as good as possible.
    Thanks so much
    Ngocpt

    Dear Ngocpt,
Internal order is functionality from CO. U can use it for the purpose of collating all the cost. U can also do cost planning in internal orders. This helps u to analyse bet planned & actual cost.
Create IO thru KO01. Once created use it in ur transactions. In your case u can use it in posting any document to AUC.
Also as I mentioned in my previous post that IO can posted with real values and statis tical values. If you want to post statistical vales only then check the box statis tical order in control data.
Whenever passing an entry put ur IO number in "order" field.
Hope this is of use to u.

  • Number Range for Asset Class

    Dear All,
We are going to develop a new asset class for the internal purpose. I can dvelop all the scenarios but my concern is how to do the number range?
Because, our system is already under live and now we are going to create the new asset class and new number range.
As I understand that for transporting the number ranges, we have to do manual tansport and assign the transport ID. In the taget system, first we have to delete the existing number range and import the transport.
But in our production server, already some number ranges are being used for existing asset class.
How should I do transport the new number range to the production server as already functioning?
Please also tell me what is the table name for Asset number ranges.
I request you to all, please give your values
    Regards,
    Ran

    Dear Ranesh,
It is better to create the number range directly in the production system. The path for the creation of the number range is
SPRO > Financial Accounting (New) > Financial Accounting Global Settings (New) > Asset Accounting > Organizational Structures > Asset Classes >  Define Number Range Interval
    Assign points if useful

    HI,
You are not clear on what you are asking. If you have run the depreciation and trying to edit the same doucmnet in AB02 it is not possible.
If at all any changes to depreciation terms are happened or new assets were acquired you can run repeat run for the period.
