Redeploy process,older instances purged?

Hi,
I have created a bpel process and created its instances.But when i undeployed it and redeployed,its all older instances are purged(is this work correct?).But these instance were related to my java application.So,this will create problem as i may have to undeply/redeploy at runtime.
Is there any solution to this problem.
thanks

therefor we introduced the concept of versioning .. take a look at the bpel cookbook or just checkout the features on the manage, when you click on a process ..
in short:
a) you can create new versions and
b) control what happens with the old ones, should they still accept incoming requests, finsih inflight ones and so on and
c) modify the default revision ..
doe sthis answer your question?

  • How to reflect new changes in older instance of work flow?

    Hi All,
    I am working on a custom workflow.
    This workflow is triggered by web dynpro component.
    Earlier my custom infotype was getting updated from web dynpro, and work flow is used to maintain process flow.
    But currently we started facing some authorization issue while updating infotypes for approvers.
    So now i introduced an activity in work flow to update this infotype from work flow using WF_Batch
    (calling method of a class to update the infotype), and commented the code to update infotype from web dynpro.
    Now the problem is, i have few requests raised using older version of work flow,
    in which the activity to update infotype was not there.
    New requests are working fine, infotype is getting updated using work flow.
    But in older requests when i am viewing from SWIA that new activity to update infotype is not visible.
    How can i implement the changes to older instances of work flow?
    Because for older requests in web dynpro also there is no code to update infotype as well as in older work flow instance
    my activity to update infotype is not visible.
    Waiting for help.....
    Regards,
    Amar

    Hi Amar,
    The changes will be reflected for new instances that are created after the transport of the new workflow definition.
    The instances of old definition will continue as it is.
    However a workaround could be that you can end the old definition instances by logically deleting them and start new workflow by T code SWUS or generating event by SWUE and go through the whole process again.
    Re- triggering of the workflow seems to be only solution here .
    Hope this helps.

  • I need to transition my 1st Generation Apple TV from an older instance of iTunes to a new instance of iTunes on my brand new Mac... How do I "switch" from one instance of iTunes to another? How do I get the 5 Digit Code Network to come back on my Screen?

    I need to transition my 1st Generation Apple TV from an older instance of iTunes on my iBook to a new instance of iTunes on my new Mac... How do I get the 5 digit Network code to come back? Is there anyway for 1st Generation Apple TV to be synched to two instances of iTunes or do I have to choose one or the other? I appreciate any advice or suggestions. Thanks!

    The 5 digit code is every time different. That does not matter. Just integrate every device into your network.
    You can connect many computers to Apple TV but syncronisation works exactly with one computer. That's why I use "streaming". But you can sync one computer, then another, and so on. The content on your Apple TV is the content from your computer that has synced last. But you can not mix it.
    The new Apple TV has no syncronisation. Everything is streamed,

  • Script QPAC: how to get a process manager instance?

    Hi,
    I was desperately fiddling about the scripting QPAC, trying to get an instance of process manager.
    Since PATAbstractServiceEx is an abstract class, I cannot instantiate it and call its getContext().getProcessManager() methods.
    I also tried to access a session using QLCSessionFactory.createSession("...") and then calling the session's getProcessManager() method. But no sessions were found.
    Does anyone know, which classes/methods to use in order to get a process manager instance?
    Regards,
    Steve

    import com.adobe.workflow.manager.ProcessManager;
    ProcessManager _pm = patServiceContext.getProcessManager();

  • SMSY define ERP system with Process Integration instance

    Hello,
    We have connected new installed ERP system (ERP 6.0 EHP3) to central SLD (SAP SM EHP1).
    But we can see the strange situation.
    SMSY define automatically this ERP system as the system with Process Integration instance but not ECC Server instance.
    We have not installed Usage Type PI in the ERP system.
    Also we have old ERP system in SLD. It is visible as SAP ERP system with ECC Server instance.
    What is the strange behaviour of SMSY? What should we do and how can we correct this definition in SMSY?

    Hi,
    Check what you have selected as "Main Instance" in SMSY under tab Software Components.
    Follow this link.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_smehp1/helpdata/en/84/24f94a1ae44a14b83529f5890a6ff5/content.htm
    Hope this helps.
    Feel free to revert back.

  • Application availability to older instances

    I have a scenario where a request is created using an interactive activity. It has request creation,approval and other subsequent process to be executed one after the other. My project has three applications to operate on the requests.
    I have created another application to modify data on the requests. (this becomes the fourth application) - in technical words, I have created a new global interactive activity in same swim lane of the role with the three applications.
    Say, a request is created on Jun 01, 2010 and I Created fourth application on Jun 04, 2010 and deployed.
    This new application is not available for that request. Is it because that the instance of the request is older than the latest version of project that is deployed?
    pls help. any info is welcome.

    As per the info i got, older request instances cannot have access to new application deployed with higher version...

  • Trying unsuccessfully to redeploy an older ear on WLS9.2

    Hi All,
    I've spent a few days trying to get a redeploy of an ear working on WLS9.2 using the wldeploy ant task. It works where the ear file is newer that the one already deployed, but redeploy just doesn't take effect if the ear we want is older than the one that is already deployed. It doesn't give an error, the log says that it's redeployed, but the redeploy doesn't take effect. This wldeploy task worked fine with WLS8.1 no matter when the ear was built.
    It seems to be the same issue as
    http://forums.bea.com/bea/thread.jspa?forumID=2033&threadID=400002694&messageID=400007471#400007471
    I'm out of ideas, so any help would be gratefully received!
    The original deployment via the console was fine, specifying DDOnly. The ear was loaded from the location C:\EARS\app.ear on the machine "host1" We then specified that the location from which the ear would be available would be \\host1\ears\app.ear which is the same location simply specified as a network drive.
    An Ant task, not the wldeploy task, copies the ear we want from any development machine to the networked host1 location. This step works fine.
    Then we try to redeploy using the wldeploy task. This only seems to work if the ear file we're trying to deploy is newer than the one we already had running.
    The task was as follows, with all options valid and one target server specified in targets:
              <wldeploy action="redeploy"
                   source="${source}"
                   name="${appname}"
                   user="${user}"
                   password="${pass}"
                   verbose="true"
                   adminurl="${adminurl}"
                   debug="true"
                   targets="${targets}">
              </wldeploy>
    Source is specified as \\host1\ears\app.ear
    Since then, we've been changing all kinds of options in wldeploy trying to get it to work for older ears, but it won't.
    extract from one of many log files showing wldeploy logging for an older ear. In this case, we're trying to replace deployed version built at 10:30 with version built at 10:22. It shows successful but the version from 10:30 is still deployed on the managed server ManagedServer1 after the redeploy. The task is:
              <wldeploy action="redeploy"
                   retiretimeout="1"
                   source="${source}"
                   name="${appname}"
                   user="${user}"
                   password="${pass}"
                   verbose="true"
                   adminurl="${adminurl}"
                   debug="true"
                   graceful="false"
                   targets="${targets}">

    So I just purchased an internal drive (separate from my system drive) to use as a Time Machine drive, for both of my computers (only one partition). Since they will be backing up every day, I will retain much more recent material in case of drive failure.
    Let Time Machine back up every hour, as it's designed. That will protect you best.
    My question is this - if I have a drive failure on my current internal system drive, and the internal Time Machine is intact, is it possible for me to take my external bootable backup (say 3 weeks older than Time Machine in how recently it was backed up), make a cone of that on a new internal system drive, and then use Time Machine to restore that drive to what is most current on Time Machine?
    Does this question make sense?
    The question makes sense until you realize that Time Machine backups contain everything you need (unless you do something silly, like exclude your system files).
    Once the new drive is installed and formatted, you can restore your entire system from the TM backups faster than you can copy the clone to the new internal HD. See #14 in the Frequently Asked Questions *User Tip,* also at the top of this forum. Note that you use the Snow Leopard Install disc only for the Installer on it; you don't install OSX from it.

  • How to reterive payload of a process when instance is created using soa....

    Hi gurus,
    I've raised couple of SRs with Oracle and did not got appropriate response. So I think there are a lot of g8 minds also working here.
    Requirement:
    I need to reterive the payload in the xml format and store in a db table for certain process.
    Steps followed:
    Created a soa process which accepts the InstanceId and ECID as input and provides them to a java class using Java embed activity. The class that accepts that input and connect to getCompositeInstances() using a locator class. In this process it will make use of another two classes to convert the instance payload to dom and then to display. The mainclass uses the XMLUtil and XPathUtils classes for this requirement.
    When I ran the three classes then I'm able to get the payload, but when called using the Javaembed I'm running into trouble. I'm getting a null value, not even any exception. I tried removing the catch in all the classes but no luck. Please find the below code in the Java embed and the java classes also.
    Code in Java Embed:
    try
    setCompositeInstanceTitle("Composite HelloWorld123");
    String ecid =(String) getVariableData("Input_java_ecid");
    String compInstanceId =(String) getVariableData("Input_Java_instanceid");
    addAuditTrailEntry("Payload_ecid is: " + ecid);
    addAuditTrailEntry("Payload_insta is: " + compInstanceId);
    Blob2String.MainClass mc = new Blob2String.MainClass();
    String inputPayload = mc.getCompositeInstancePayload(compInstanceId, ecid);
    if(inputPayload == null)
    addAuditTrailEntry("inputPayload is*********"inputPayload".........");
    InsertIntoDB ir = new InsertIntoDB();
    ir.InsertMethod1(inputPayload,compInstanceId,ecid) ;
    /*//addAuditTrailEntry("Payload is: " + inputPayload);
    String StringPayload =(String)inputPayload;
    addAuditTrailEntry("StringPayload is: " + StringPayload);

    Just a way to debug.....can you use soa logger to debug your java MainClass() flow..
    You can view log messages in

    In SRM
    see inbound queue
    queue 1 failed
    queue 2 waiting
    queue 3 waiting
    now you have to click the queue 1 and see what is the PR number and delete only
    queue 1 only
    and remaining queue 2 and queue 3 you
    can reprocess and it will be disappeared.
    you need to explore what caused on that noted PR and inform the failure of the PR so sthat he can correct the data and it can be processed and transfered to SRM.

  • Process Multiple Instances from workspace

    Hi,
    In our project we have a requirement, where at a particular actiity the user has only an option to choose yes or no and depending upon the option the next activity woudl be decided. We currently know that a screenflow can be implemented for that activity, using which the user can select the correct option. But for this he would have to open each instance and perform the operation. As there would be many items which need to be worked on at the same time, the users would like to perform the operation directly from the workspace without opening the screenflow. Could we have an option of selecting multiple items from workspace and have an option to process them at the same time depending upon the choice(can be probably displayed along with abort, consult,etc under operations).
    Thanks,
    Sree.

    Yes - there's a way that this can be done, but it's not out of the box.
    Sure there are other ways that would work just as well, but at a high level - here's an outline of one approach to updating a variable in a list of work item instances that are in a particular activity from one screen:
    1. Add a new BPM Object that has attributes to store the desired new value and a group with an attribute to store a checkbox (Boolean), another attribute to store the instance id (string), another attribute to store the present value
    2. Create a method in the BPM Object to search for the list of all the instances in the particular activity, get their instance id and the current value of the instance variable. There is a pretty common technique called a filter that can be used inside logic to accomplish this. You'd base your filter on work item instances inside a specific process that are currently sitting in a particular activity in that process. You would use the list of work item instances returned to populate the group you created in the first step.
    3. Create a presentation in the BPM Object to display the list of instances in the activity. Display all the items in the group with the selection box in the first column to let the end user select the one or more instances to be updated with the new value.
    4. Add a method to be invoked in the BPM Object once the Submit button on your presentation has been clicked. This method would go through your group and see which items in the list have been selected (the Boolean attribute) and then update each of these variables for each of the work item instances (these would be identified by the instance id also in the group's row for the item selected).
    5. Add a Global activity that will use the BPM Object's presentation to display the list of work item instances to the end user to prompt them to perform the mass variable update.
    Hope this helps get you started,
    Dan

  • Process and Instances

    Hi all,
    I´m trying to read all instances from a process, using JAVA.
    How can i do this?
    Where i can find a example?
    Thanks,
    Elder

    Dear Krishna,
    1. Yes, GP has backward compatability. Everything will be fine, unless you delete the old process templates. If you just deploy a new version, the old ones will work fine.
    2. Can you please comment which SP are your machines on? The Delete Instance button was probably added in a later SP.
    Regards,
    George.
