Redispaying a window after calling dispose() in MacOS

When I call dispose() on an object that extends JDialog and then later call
pack();
setVisible(true);
on the same object, the window reappears as it should except in MacOS.
When im running the program in MacOS, the redisplayed window isn't quite the same.
Selected checkboxes, the right end of comboboxes, the borders of clicked buttons,
aren't highlighted (either blue or graphite).
Is there any way to get around this?

Yes but it also says that calling show or pack after dispose should
re-create the native resources exactly as they were before Oops... talk about tunnel vision. Even without reading that, I should have known that it was possible since I knew that components don't get "realized" until a pack or show is done.

in an ABAP programm I am calling function module CVAPI_DOC_VIEW2 which opens a new window where I can view a Document management picture for a given material number.
My problem is, that the new called window is active and I have to use a mouse click to activate the first window to enter a new material number with a barcode reader.
How can I activate the first window through ABAP without having to use a mouse click again ?
Is there a function module or class available which I can call to activate the first window again?

I've run into this issue in CP4 as well though I've never been sure why it happens. It looks like you're opening the swf through a browser to so, for want of a solution, the easiest workaround is the edit the html file.
open it in a text editor such as Notepad.
Five or six lines down you'll find the title element which defines the title as it will display in your browser titlebar: <title>This text is the title that displays in your browser title bar</title>
Just change the text the the title you want and save the html file.
If you go with this solution, I suggest that when you are publishing the project again you deselect the option "Export HTML" in the publish wondow. Otherwise you will have to edit your html file each time you publish.

How do I stop OSX Lion from reopen windows after logging in?

Please advise. This is aggrevating me. Everytime I shut down my computer, I have to uncheck the box that states, Reopen windows after logging in. I don't want to do this everytime I shut my computer down. If I don't completely log out of every single application, when I start my computer and log-in, the programs I was using before I shut-down all come back up and sometimes this freezes my computer and I have to force shut down. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you.

When choosing Restart, Sleep or Shutdown there is a checkbox you can uncheck to prevent the apps from launching.
Also in System Preferences > General there is a hard-to-find checkbox under "Number of recent items" you can turn off.
If you want to turn it off on a per app basis, (TextEdit is by example, replace TextEdit with the name of the app)
Launch Terminal and copy/paste this at the prompt...
defaults write com.apple.TextEdit NSQuitAlwaysKeepsWindows -bool false
Press return.
To turn off Resume globally...
chflags uchg ~/Library/"Saved Application State"

The reverse of the first one is to replace false with true.

Stuck in a "loop" at the login window after upgrading to Leopard

I bought a new iMac Oct 26. It contained Tiger, and included a disk for installing Leopard. I easily got the machine up and running using Tiger, but last night I attempted to install Leopard. When the installation was complete, I tried to get it running. A screen asking for my password came up. I keyed that in and hit logon. Back came the screen asking for the password. To make long story short, I tried everything I could last night, and then called Apple Support this morning. Took quite a while, but I was back in business this afternoon. The technician who helped me sent me the email copied below describing the solution. Perhaps it will help someone else? Romelle

Issue or symptom
After installing Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard on a 20-inch or 24-inch iMac (Late 2007) computer, you may not be able to log in at the login window. Your login name and password are apparently accepted, but after a blue screen appears for a few seconds, the login window reappears instead of your desktop.

Solution
If Leopard is installed
Start up from the Leopard Install DVD and perform an Archive and Install installation (and select Preserve Users and Network Settings).
After the Archive and Install is complete, you should be able to successfully log in. Use Software Update to install any other updates.
Important: Install the iMac Software Update 1.3 for Leopard after the Archive and Install is complete.
If Leopard is not yet installed
If you have not yet installed Leopard on your 20-inch or 24-inch aluminum iMac computer with a 2.0, 2.4, or 2.8 GHz processor running Mac OS X 10.4.x, but previously installed the iMac Software Update 1.2, you should install the iMac Software Update 1.2.1 (Tiger) or later, before installing Leopard.

If Leopard came pre-installed and this is a new machne, then the disks that came in the box should let you archive install preserving users & network settings. The disks have a grey label, and if you get more than one use disk #1 for this procedure.
Hold down the "option" (also known as "alt" on the new keyboards) key when starting up with disk #1 in the optical drive. Select the install disk icon on the grey screen and click the arrow. Then when you get to the "select destination pane, click the options button after selecting your hard drive as the destination. In options A& I preserving should be checked by default, if not, select them. Click "ok" to dismiss the options pane, then run the installation.
If this does not work for you, call apple support. They want everything to work. Be patient, they are real busy these days.

Heap Error during Windows OCIEnvCreate() call

During a call to:

A crash occurs which reports the following in the MSVC 2005 debug output window:
HEAP[AutoTest.EnvironmentPkg.DatabaseConnectionManager.exe]: Invalid Address specified to RtlFreeHeap( 00150000, 0015ED80 )
Windows has triggered a breakpoint in AutoTest.EnvironmentPkg.DatabaseConnectionManager.exe.
This may be due to a corruption of the heap, and indicates a bug in AutoTest.EnvironmentPkg.DatabaseConnectionManager.exe or any of the DLLs it has loaded.
We are using version 10.2.0.3 of the Oracle Basic Lite client on Windows XP, called via SQLAPI++.
I have verified that the memory we allocate is not being corrupted before this call. Using Compuware's Boundschecker VS add-in, I've verified that the heap error is in a memory range allocated by oraociicus10.dll. Since the OCIEnvCreate call is the first time that oraociicus10.dll allocates memory (i.e. my code doesn't have a chance to trample Oracle's data structures), there's a good chance IMO that it's an internal Oracle problem.
Boundschecker reports errors such as:
Pointer Error: When calling LocalFree, pointer 0x03A60A5C is not at the beginning of the block 0x03A60998 (65536) allocated by LocalAlloc.
These errors are reported in a Debug build; the same kind of error happens during a Release build.
According to a previous thread, a special release of the OCCI interface DLLs was needed to fix MSVC 2005 compatibility issues like this one. (See Debug in Visual Studio 2005 (vs8) ? )
I've posted looking for any such release for OCI DLLs, but haven't found any yet ( MSVC 2005 compatible OCI DLLs? )
My questions:
1. Could this be a compatibility problem between the OCI DLLs and MSVC 2005? and
2. If not, what could the problem be?

Are you using the oracle thin client ...?? Try using the full client install.
Is it working with OCI_DEFAULT or OCI_THREADED alone ???
Please note the following points in WINDOWS Platform.;
1)Try always a fresh installation for Oracle and VS products.Preferably a clean install of the OS.
2)If don't want to remove OS , do a clean UNINSTALL (This should include a complete clean up in the Registry and file systems).
3)Always reboot the system before and after installations and try your code.
If the above sequences are followed most of the DLL/LIB problem are solved for me.

JNI - core dump - internal error on linux after calling Java method

I'm getting a core dump after calling athe main statric method using JNNI.
On linux.
I can get the class id correcttly but when I attempt to call the method it craches with an internal error , anyone know why it would crash instead of just not work.

I see yere points but what I see on linux is it makes it to the constructor of the Java object and somewhere afterwards it bails out, the Java app does work alone. It appears to have problems initializing the JFrame, could there be a problem with the Java inheritance when a JVM is invoked throurgh native invocation??

No frame refreshing when buffered window is called/created

Hi,
i'm programming a java-based game. It uses a JFrame that calls an "accelerated window" ( a buffered window with a Graphics2D Object ) to draw a basketball simulation. The problem is that when the accelerated window is running ( loop ) the refreshing and the listeners of the main window doesn't work properly (note that accelerated window is called by a Game class that extends Thread... ). Has anybody experienced camera drivers wont work after calling Camera.getCamera() so many times?

Using Flash Player on Windows machines, since version Flash Player 11.4 - Flash Player 15 (ActiveX version), and every version after that we have experienced an issue in which Hauppauge PCIe cameras and Videology cameras or other non-standard cameras fail to work with Flash Player after calling getCamera() so many times. For example, we get the camera, and publish a netstream for 10 minutes, then we set the camera to null. Later we call the camera again and after doing this 25 times, or 100 times, the camera driver just seems to fail, and Flash Player acts like it is streaming the camera, but the NetStream info indicates that zero bytes of video data was streamed indicating that there were no pixels that came from the camera.
Has anybody else experienced this issue to where you have to restart the browser or the Windows process in order for Flash Player to be able to getCamera() properly again?

Yes, it appears that others have experienced a similar issue. Adobe has not yet confirmed that this is a bug, but it is being tracked here:

Problem with calling dispose() from static method

I have one class, where I have this:
EditorWindow.disposeWindow();and class EditorWindow, where I have static method

}But, dispose() cant be called from static method. Is there any way to hide or close the EditorWindow window?

You can create a pop.htm page, and call the same in another page using the above code.
Refer standard BSP examples, SBSPEXT_HTMLB, SBSPEXT_PHTMLB, SBSPEXT_XHTMLB. You can run the default.htm pages and see what way you want to design your BSP.

Opening a new window after computations and validations

Hi all
I want to open a new popUp window after a submit button is clicked but this window should open only after all the validations assosiated with this button are executed. Please note that, I want to open this window before the process associated with this button can fire

I created a process called status bar to execute on submit and after computatuions and validations. This process contained the javascript to launch my new popup. This is the first process in after submit catagory. Logically it is supposed to execute before any other process but the problem is ...
The status bar process is not executing on submit after computations and validations.I tried changing its process point to before computations and validatuions. No problems on before computations and validations if I have some validations error on that page. But if everything is validated in this case as well, We don't get the status window.

Notice the last statement in the process. This is a call to an external procedure called rout. This executes fine but just the htp.p is giving me problem, only in the particular case I spotted out.

but I have correctly :

How to Direct control to application's window after closing the popup?

Hi,
I am using 10.1.3. In my application I am unable to direct control to application's window after closing the popup, if I open any other window at the same time.
For more info see the below step:-
-> Open any popup in my application.
-> Open any new window (lets say Google.com).
-> Now restore popup on Google window.
-> Now close popup
          - control goes to Google window but not the parent application window.
How to direct control to the parent window?
Can anybody help me regarding this?

You can do this using Javascript alone. Below are the two sample files I created.
main.html_

    window.open("popup.html");

<a hr_ef="javascript:openPopup()">Open popup</a>
<input id="something" name="something" type="text" value="something">

Note: hr_ef should be href. The code tags are messing with the link.
popup.html_
<html>
<head>
<title>This is the popup window</title>
<script type="text/javascript">
function goToMain() {
    window.opener.something.focus();
</script>
</head>
<body onunload="goToMain()">
This is the popup window. Close this window to return to main window.
</body>
</html>The idea is to call a javascript function in the popup window that tries to focus on an object (eg. InputText) in the main html.
Although, one point to take note is the naming of html objects by by these ADF UI Components. If you named your form id as "*form1*" and input text id as "*something*", your input text id will end up as "*form1:something*".
Therefore, you will have to tweak the code above to the following:

In updateDisplayList(), if it resizes the window, this calls setActualSize, so call validateMatrix() to make sure it is updated. Usually validateMatrix() is done in validateDisplayList() before udl is called. Due to timing this only seems to show on Windows systems.

The latest flashplugin fixed the problem. I haven't had a crash since updating a few weeks ago. I just wanted to update this thread in case anyone is still running the prerelease with this problem.
The only major problem I have now is that justin.tv's player causes screen flickering for about 30s after going full screen, and I sometimes have to alt+tab to get full screen in focus after enabling it.
