High Reed-Solomon EC on 887VA with VDSL

Hi,
I've recently set up a C887VA-W-E-K9 router to connect to Vodafone fibre 80/20. It's my first time setting up a xDSL circuit from scratch on these routers so I don't know if the config is 100% right - but it is working anyway (much to my delight).
After an initial teething period of unexplained CRC & header errors, and chronically low download speeds (~6Mbps download, 19Mbps upload) the line seems to have "settled".
Despite being told we would likely be only able to get around 50Mbps due to our distance from the cabinet, the router is reporting that attainable speeds in the 80s, and syncing consistently over 73Mbps.
Although no one has complained of any issues in the office that I'm aware of, I am seeing consistently high Reed-Solomon EC values in the statistics for the VDSL controller. The fact the rest of the numbers there are zero makes me think it shouldn't be this high?

As you can see - the Reed-Solomon EC count is already at 107,824 and it carries on rising into the millions. There doesn't seem to be any particular consistently to it.
I've been in contact with our broadband providers who haven't really able to help, and insist that we have to use the BT Openreach modem in front of our router otherwise it's not a supported configuration. Vodafone are also telling them the same thing when it was escalated. I've also been told - which I don't believe - that the 887VA can't support 80/20 VDSL, but the CPU utilisation on it barely goes above 15% even with CBAC and IPSEC active, so it seems meaty enough.
Vodafone also gave me a load of settings that don't (I think?) apply to VDSL at all - e.g. VCI, VPI and VC-Mux/VC-based multiplexing? I can't see any way of setting these on the Dialer0 interface, and the ATM0 interface is administratively down as it's unused.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
Is our "Noise margin" too low? Could a mismatch of MTU cause this kind of problem? (currently I have no MTU settings explicitly set, and sh int shows it as 1500 - which Vodafone also said we should aim for).
I should point out that speed wise the speed tests I've run have consistently shown download speeds of ~70Mbps, and upload of ~18Mbps, and there hasn't been any desyncs that I've seen - so whatever is causing those Reed-Solomon EC numbers doesn't seem to be adversely affecting the line or the quality of service.

I'm on BT infinity 80/20 but distance to the cab means i can only get around 40/10 (long story but due to some discount if I reduce my profile it will cost more)
I have also noted the high Reed-Solomon error rate, I can not work out why. Got a solid line so perhaps I should not complain :-

Load error in LabVIEW communications

Hello Everyone,
I am using LabVIEW Communications System Design suite. I connected USRP 2953R using PCI interface to the laptop. 802.11 WLAN framework is being used for the project. I had to check channel estiomation using antennas and it was done. Today, I am stuck with a load error while opening the project. It is saying that the project includes following featrues thta are not supported in this version of LabVIEW-

Hi Everyone,
This was a problem due to communications suite license. I contacted the sales department and they gave me an activation key to extend the license(as I am using the suite on a trial period). There was a loading error because LabVIEW communications software was loaded instead of Suite which is not suitable for the respective plugins. The issue is resolved when I used the activation key to reinitiate LabVIEW suite. And I thank everyone who tried to help me.

I have Premiere Pro CC and running Mac OSX 10.9.5. I have one long 32 minute long C300 MXF clip in my timeline which seems to be fine until around the 26 minute mark, where the entire frame goes red. The audio still works, but I can't see anything. I have tried to convert the clip to ProRes in Media Encoder also, but the same issue happens.
In the report log from Media Encoder I get the following message repeated many times:
MXF decode error in "[FOOTAGE LOCATION]/Card 1/CONTENTS/CLIPS001/E51151/E5115107.MXF" at frame 47650. Frame 47618 was substituted.
And then occasionally it says:
MXF read error in "[FOOTAGE LOCATION]/Card 1/CONTENTS/CLIPS001/E51151/E5115107.MXF" at frame 239.
Any advice about this??

Decode error when outputting to file to later burn to DVD

I have an MPG file created in Ulead Media Studio Pro (which I can no longer run as it does not run on Windows 7 which my new PC uses). I created a new project in PE9, added the mpg file, dragged it to the timeline and told Premiere to change the project settings to match. It is now PAL DVD Upper field first. There is no red line on the timeline above the clip. When I try to output it to a file for later burning to DVD I get a decode error around a particular frame. When I go near that frame in the monitor window and step forward one frame at a time it moves smoothly until it gets to the frame in question when there is a noticeable delay from pressing the arrow button and the time counter updating to the next frame number. The MPG plays fine in Windows Media Player and VLC player - it shows a cross fade transition at the spot that fails in PE9. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I don't have independent DVD authoring software as otherwise that would be an option.

Depending on the source footage, I have found that some other programs do a better job of handling them. For that reason, I have CyberLink PowerDirector, and Magix MovieEdit Pro on my computer. Actually, since I use PrPro for most of my work, that is also why I bought and installed PrE - it handles footage well, that PrPro chokes on.
Personally, I am less comfortable actually editing in PowerDirector, or MovieEdit Pro (older versions of both), but PrE is closer to PrPro, so I rely on it as my "first step," and the other two NLE's more as just converters.
Still, if another tool in your video-editing toolbox, works better, there is zero shame in using it. Sometimes an adjustable spanner is all a mechanic needs, but when they require a universal socket with a "wobbly" extension on their Snap-On rachet, then the adjustable spanner goes back into the toolbox.
Most of all, I am glad that you are able to produce the desired results. That is what it's all about.

Decode Error in Cisco VCS for a call from Jabber to telyHD

Hi,
We have the following setup:
Cisco Jabber <---> Cisco VCS <---> telyHD (Our Video Product)
Now, the call works well when the call is intiated from telyHD to Cisco Jabber.
But, the call fails when the Cisco Jabber initiates the call towards telyHD.
The packet capture on VCS shows that there is a syslog message from VCS to Jabber indicating the following when 180 Ringing is received from telyHD:
Message [truncated]: tvcs: Event="Decode Error" Service="SIP" Src-ip="10.1.1.19" Src-port="5060" Dst-ip="10.1.11.11" Dst-port="25331" Detail="(User-Agent) Single header User-Agent appeared twice in message" Protocol="TCP" Level="1" UTCTime
Can you please help in troubleshooting this issue. I don't see multiple "User-Agent" headers in the 180 Ringing sent by telyHD.

How can I eliminate (watch) in videos that read "ERROR: DECODE ERROR"?

Usually when in a web site (like Fox News) & there's a video to watch I can't watch it due to the message "ERROR: DECODE ERROR". How can I eliminate this & watch the video? Thanks for your input.

Have you tried to reinstall Flash on your system, uninstall from the control panel, then install from get.adobe.com/flashplayer/‎ and try the video again.

Error installing LabVIEW 2011 on Win 7

I'm getting an error installing LabVIEW 2011 Professional:
I found a thread concerning missing MSIs, which suggested that one run setup.exe with the /log function, so I did, but I don't think it actually says anything useful.
I also found a Microsoft download page for WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe, which is the thing that's supposed to be missing. This seems to be an old version of the installer (most recent compatible OS = WinXP SP2), so I don't really feel like installing this on my Windows 7 system.

It does seem that you are missing some of the necessary support files required for the installer to run correctly, the details of which are available in the KnowledgeBase article here. Did you download the install files or are you installing from disk?
In addition to the setup.exe file, ensure that you have copied the following folders to the target PC or destination folder when creating an installer with LabVIEW.
bin
license
supportfiles
Hope this helps get you up and running with LabVIEW 2011, let me know if you experience any further issues.

Deepak, generally this error is displayed when the keytab file is generated with a ktpass tool with is not compatible to the JDK Kerberos implementation.If you have created the keytab file using different version ktpass tool, you have to recreate the keytab file using the required version. Please You verify the SAP Note 927350 - keytab generation for Kerberos authentication with SPNego.

More information:
1) Only inbound FA's are failing (please note its random)
2) The number in AK102 matches to our outbound invoice's GS number, so i guess the correlation is fine.
3) I just reprocessed the FA after modifying AK102 number in FA to the ISA number of the invoice, with all preceding zero's and this works.

Problem with Adobe Decoder ST 7.5 - decoding error

Hi all,
I have an Adobe LiveCycle Barcoded Forms ST version 7.5 installed on
Windows XP. While trying to decode a barcoded pdf it logs the following
AdobeException: "Error in the PDF library."
The same pdf file is successfully decoded on Adobe LiveCycle Barcoded Forms ST version 7.0.
I've try to design the barcoded pdf with Adobe Designer 7.1 and 8.0 the decoding error is the same with Adobe Barcoded Forms 7.5.
I'll be very thankful for any kind of information about it.

I'm decoding a PDF that was filled, then saved without printing or scanning.
I create it with Adobe Designer 8.0, after that I'm adding it all rights (including 2D barcode decoding) with ReaderExtension 7.2. During the execution I have an error in the ReaderExtension console - "ERROR: document does not have certifying signature".
After that I'm filling and saving the extended pdf file with Adobe Reader 7.0.5, then I put the filled file in the input directory of the decoder and I receive the decoder error.

P.S. The ReaderExtensions and Barcoded Forms Decoder are both installed on Windows XP (one computer).

Decoder error on media center

I have media center for an hp computer: model # m7170N... it will no longer record or play television. The error message: decoder error- video has either malfunctioned or is not installed comes up. how can i fix this??

- Please navigate to the following tree in the registry editor and paste the value for "CSDVersion"
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
The regkey can be accessed by searching for 'CSDVersion' in the registry editor or you could follow the steps below.
(1) Click 'Start' > choose 'Run'
(2) type 'regedit' in the run window and click 'ok'. This will open the registry editor
(3) Navigate the tree to 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion'
(4) look in the left side pane and locate 'CSDVersion' and its value.
And how did your upgrade to SP3 happen? Did it come preinstalled on your machine or have you upgraded it by downloading upgrades from the internet.

Run-time error "5010": Labview: VI execution ...

I get Run-time error "5010": Labview: VI execution terminated by server. This error occurs sporatically. I am running Visual Basic 5.0 application that communicates to Labview 6.1 VIs. It is using NI-Imaq to do vision analysis of parts. I just need to know what to look for that may be causing this error. I am also running it on a PXI system with 64 MB of memory.

I recommend you to do direct function calls to NI-IMAQ and NI Vision function libraries from Visual Basic as this will be a lot more efficient and improve rubustness of your application. During the installation of both software, you have the option to include support files for Visal Basic. Once these components are installed you should see the shipping examples in the following directories (if installed in the default path):
(NI-IMAQ) C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-IMAQ\Sample\VB
(NI Vision) C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MeasurementStudio\VB\Samples\IMAQ
There are additional examples that can be found in the Code Library (see the link on the left sidebar).

Intrument Gives error when Labview VI is loaded

I have a minor issue with one of my instruments that i control with labview. I can control it via Serial or GPIB control. When i load up my vi for the first time and my instrument is set to GPIB address 1 there is a slight delay loading up the program and I get an error light on my instrument. This means some info is being sent on the GPIB bus. After the slight delay the program finishes loading and the error light goes off telling me something else was sent to my instrument. This error occurs ONLY when my instrument is set to address 1. Any other address and everything works as expected. To combat this error in my vi i just send a *cls to clear everthing before i write again because the error seems
to send something that will mess up my first sent command. I ran NI spy to see what is happening when i load my VI's.
This is what NI SPY shows labview is doing on the GPIB card when i load up my VIs

Step 5 is where i get the error and labview hangs for a second. After it passes my error light goes off and it will continue to load. This issue only occurs when i have my instrument set to GPIB address 1. There seems to be some kind of conflict that occurs. Could it possibly be the software used in the instrument?

The viFindRsrc VISA call finds all VISA resources connected to your computer. Line five is where LabVIEW polls the Serial Port, not your instrument, so I'm not sure why you would get an error there.
Since the error only occurs when your device is at PAD 1, I'd suggest checking for address conflicts. Is your GPIB0 device at address 1? Do you have any other devices connected to you system?
Also, what are all of the getAttribute and setAttribute commands? I don't get those when I run VISA Resources VI.

I am working with pci-6723 and labview 7.1 yesterday when iwas testing , the programme was running , suddenly the power has gone , since i have not connected my system to UPS system got shutdown , and when i booted pc its higlighted this error , now to what extent this problem affects to my software, and how to fix it.

Hello Rajesh,
Do you get this error frequently or you got it only once after the power shutdown? Are you making a call to a DLL in multithreaded environment? Try mass compiling the VI by going to Tools->Advanced->Mass Compile. Also please follow the suggestions provided in this knowledge base entry regarding thread.cpp and see if that will fix the problem:

If you continue to have this error, is there any way you can send me a pared-down example demonstrating what your program does, so I can at least investigate to see if I can narrow down the cause of the thread.cpp failure?
