Refresh preview in web gallery

When working on a web gallery, I'd like to have a "refresh preview", same as in Bridge. Because Lightroom rebuilds the gallery on it's own, while I have not finished my changes. I'd like to decide when to refresh! And with some web engines and a bunch of pictures, it can take a LONG time to refresh.

First go to standard view in the folder with problems and purge cache for folder using the menu tools / cache, try again.
If no luck restart Bridge holding down option to refresh preferences and reset prefs again to your wishes, try again.
Still bad then go to user library preferences folder and find the bridge3 plist file and delete it manual to trash, restart Bridge with option key to refresh prefs as above.

Web Gallery 'Preview in browser' error

Hi All,
I am hoping someone can possibly help me out?
Everytime I try and preview a web gallery in my browser I just get a word pad file open similar to what I have copy and pasted underneath. I have tried different web engines and still I get a similar response every time I try and 'preview in broswer'. I have tried everything I can think of bar reinstalling LR.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

How are you launching the web gallery? What type of template are you using? I simply double click on the html page in the gallery folder and it launches whatever browser I have associated with it. Could your .html page be associated with Word Pad? If so, that'd suggest a change.....

Web gallery Preview - not working

I just upgraded my Apple Mac Pro to OS X Yosemite, v10.10.3. I am running Photoshop & Bridge CS6. When I create an HTML Web Gallery in Photoshop (or Bridge, more accurately) I can no longer Preview the gallery before Saving it. Is there a compatibility problem between CS6 and Yosemite? Any suggestions will be appreciated, thanks. Mark Weidman

Links to web gallery don't work from blog preview

I used the idea by somebody in this forum (sorry, forgot who!) to have a blog with each entry linking directly to the various different view options of the .mac web gallery, like this:

However, now the links don't work anymore from the blog preview, because the #and & characters in the web gallery's url get scrambled.
Does anybody know why this is or how I can fix this?

Brigde CS5 in Windows 7 64bit - drops out photos in Web Gallery preview

Is there a limit to the number of photos that web gallery will display? I created a web gallery and then started over again as instructions I read stated that I should put the TITLE on each photo. Once I put the title in, out of 24 photos that use to display, only 20 now display.
Can someone explain why this is happening? I haven't even gotten to the point of trying to embed in my website yet. Perhaps Bridge isn't the best tool to use?

And right you are! After posting this message I started reading through all the help files and finally did find the same answer. Now my problem is the linking as I have a very strange hosting set up. Two sites, same directory. So all my images have broken links. Something new to work out!

How do I get more than 20 pictures in my Web Gallery

I am making a web gallery with 162 photo's, but the "Refresh Preview" as well as the "Preview in Browser" only shows 20 pictures. In the galleries that I made before I had no problem with the amount of pictures. If anyone can show me what I should do to open this barrier, I would be very grateful,

The limit only applies to the preview. Generate the Gallery and then view it in a browser and you will see the full set of pictures.

Is there a Refresh Preview option in Adobe Bridge CS6 (mac)?

Just been doing a short tutorial on creating a web photo gallery with Bridge CS6..I notice in the tutorial that there are two options for preview ie: preview in browser and refresh preview.
Try as I might I cant seem to find refresh preview..I have to keep opening a new browser to see preview..
Does CS6 Bridge have this option or is it only preview in browser?
if it does have refresh preview how do i find it?
Im using the MAC version of cs6
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

my key key point is i would like to be able to preview a pdf photo gallery in bridge instead of having to go back & forth to a browser..
As said, not much experience with Web gallery but I do do recall the difference for CS6. The refresh Preview button indeed has been removed and it seems to have something to do with difficulties using the Opera browser and also something with Flash in Bridge before but now I'm on very thin ice so don't shoot me if I'm wrong.
So sadly enough you are bound to use the default browser for your previews instead of the output preview use before CS6
On the other hand it is also showing how other people will see in. in a real life browser

I can only add 10 images to the Web Gallery in Bridge CS4 even if I choose more than 10 images from the Content Panel before clicking Refresh Preview. Are 10 images the maximum for the Web Gallery?

A workaround for Aperture users to use .Mac Web Gallery

As a user who recently switched to Aperture - I was hugely disappointed seeing some amazing new photo-related features in iLife '08 not available for Aperture users. Let alone the cash for purchasing software suites, I can't convince myself switching back to iPhoto for a single feature. So I googled and searched around...
Some pre-requisite for the workaround: You must have iLife '08, Aperture and .Mac installed.
_*Solution 1*_
Create an album in Aperture that contains the images you want to upload to your .Mac Web Gallery. In iPhoto '08, create an empty library, then File > Show Aperture Library, choose the album and import images from there.
The downside of this is the images are your Versions in preview quality.
_*Solution 2*_
Export Versions from Aperture and import the images to iPhoto and perform the upload.
_*Solution 3*_
For users building websites in iWeb, I have seen threads that one could use the media browser in iLife suite to perform similar result but it also limits to the preview quality of Aperture.
I would have to say even the workaround is hugely disappointed but I can't see any other solutions at the moment. I couldn't recall my last ocassion on having such disappointment for Apple's software development.

Apple really needs to rev. Aperture so it sends photos directly to the new .Mac Web Galleries.

How can I create a link to an external site in my aperture web gallery?

Very keen to add a link to my main home page so people can go from my web gallery at www.smartstreets.eu back to my home page at www.smartstreets.co.uk
Anyone know a way to do this?
Also wondered if I can change the font, size, format (eg bold etc) in the theme I have chosen .. this seems to be set and cannot be changed.

I don't know how to accomplish this when using Aperture's built-in web gallery feature. My suggestion may help until you find out how to do that. I suggest buying iLife '08 and using iWeb to create your web galleries. The iWeb media browser shows your Aperture library and albums so there's no need to export-import. You do need to generate previews for photos to use in iPhoto. iWeb is much more powerful than Aperture's gallery layout tools, plus there are many themes available. Think of iWeb as an export plugin for Aperture.

Web gallery does not work

Problem that I have ... is difficult to explain so picture :
As you see when I click under the web gallery and I selected a flash galery or imported web galley (exemple here is airtight simpleviewver...) ... the screen in the middle box keeping black ... nothing more ...
here more you can see there is a problem : it's when I click under flash galery ... see middle box ... there is no photo adding ...
Only htmml galery appears in the middle screen :
Previously it worked I saw when I clicked under airtight postcardviewver web gallery ... all my photo getting on the middle screen ...
Now it only works with html lightroom gallery .... I don't know why
More when I click under preview in brower some galery works but some not ... when I said not ... the result is a black screen in IE or firefox ...

Photos in Web gallery too dark

I just updated to the new iLife.
I tried the new Web Gallery function and the photos are too dark compared to the view in iPhoto.
Same happens with galleries in iWeb.
What's wrong?

There is a color problem when publishing pictures from iPhoto 06 and 08 (as well as when e-mailing a picture).
The problem being that the images are published with their original color profile, whatever that is. Further, if profile is missing in the image in iPhoto, the profile will be missing in the output. (BUT iPhoto displays correctly in case there is an EXIF tag specifying sRGB).
The result is that colors will not be displayed correctly on the WEB (or in e-mail clients), more or less depending on OS platform. This applies both to images and their thumbnails.
Compare the iPhoto album http://www.tomasjonsson.eu/IPhotoTests/
with an album with correct colors http://www.tomasjonsson.eu/PictureSite/Albums/Pages/PreAndPostProcessed.html
In Safari, only IMG_9465 and IMG_5182 will show a difference - since those are the only images without a color profile. However, in other MS-Windows browsers, most images will be displayed incorrectly.
Note! Most digital cameras produce images without at color profile but with an EXIF tag. In iPhoto:Preferences:Advanced choose Embed ColorSync profile, which will add a profile corresponding the EXIF tag. However, the images that you have already imported will not be fixed.
Note to Apple: Show EXIF colors space and embedded color profile in Info pane. Add command - ASSIGN profile. And in export dialog - add option Color Space.
HOW IT SHOULD BE
Images on the web (and in general also e-mails) should be published in sRGB color space (otherwise they will not be displayed correctly in browsers on the MS-Windows platforms, with the exception of Safari, viewing images with a color profile)
Images should have a color profile, in particular the sRGB images (otherwise they will not be displayed correctly on the MacOS platforms. Maybe close to correct if you have calibrated your monitor to PC-gamma)
Actually all images should have a color profile, period. If the image does not have a color profile, it is just a pile of randomly colored pixels - to be interpreted freely by any displaying device, which they do.

However, DO NOT follow this guys advice of omitting the color profile for WEB publishing because of overhead. The overhead is less than 1% of a high quality image. (I measured 0.5 - 2.5 kByte)
WORKAROUND
After exporting from iPhoto - use Photoshop and CONVERT TO PROFILE all images to sRGB color space. Save file with color profile.
Note, make sure that images without original profile are treated correctly (most often they are sRGB, check the EXIF tag with Preview application)
Note, apply also conversion to thumbnails.

Help with Starting a Web Gallery

I am new to Lightroom and would like to setup a web gallery. I setup the FTP server in the Upload Settings and when I click upload, everything seems to be working fine. I also get a "Task Completed" message in the processing bar (upper left).
When I go to the destination, (www.wokintime.com/gallery/) nothing is displayed. Also, when I click "Preview in Browser" nothing displays - the url says "about:blank" and the entire page is blank.
Am I missing something?

Do you get an error message from LR when uploading?
Have you got permission to upload to this folder on the server?
Are you placing the gallery in a sub folder within the gallery folder on your site? This will be shown here in LR
Have you checked your server to see if the galley files are present? Whoever supplies your web service will usually have a mechanism to do this. Log in to your service in your browser, it will be called file browser or the like.
I note you are using wordpress for the site, you may also have a htacess file on your site that is set to prevent browsing directly within a folder that is outside of the WP instillation, you will need to change permissions on the folder to allow viewing of the gallery by direct html link if this is the case. It may be better to create your galleries in wordpress itself, many plug ins are avaible for this, I do this on my sites such as

total pages, 2 have small Adobe Web Galleries I created in Bridge, they both work in Live View and also work when I Preview in Browser, but when I upload to my web site... the 4 pages load but the 2 with Web Gallery load without the images ??? I checked the folders and all are in the proper places ??? Has anyone had a similar problem ??? Any help would be apppreciated THANKS. Pat

Web gallery built in Bridge, then linked from DW site, doesn't work

Using the "web gallery" function in Adobe Bridge CS5, I created an HTML-based web gallery and uploaded it directly from Bridge to here on the web:

I can view this in Safari 5.0.5 on my Mac, but it's a blank white page in Firefox and in Chrome. Even worse, my client gets a blank page in every Windows-based browser.
If I can get it to work at all, my intent is to add it within a frame on this page:

Again, it seems to work in Safari (but only after a refresh on an iPad), but doesn't work anywhere else.
The web gallery function in Bridge would be ideal to use for this gallery, but it just doesn't work and I have no idea how to fix it. Any help or insights on what's wrong would be greatly appreciated.
