Refresh RFC funcion Data service

Hi,
I have created an iView whose data service is RFC function.
I have changed the function interface in the R/3, but I can't see the changes to the interface in the visual composer.
How can I refresh the Interface of this function in the visual composer ?

Hi Ofir Kadosh,
1. First check after setting the below property in VC:
Goto Visual Composer menu --> Tools --> Options --> Compiler Tab --> Change <b>Data service retrieval</b> to Do not cache data services(get latest).
2. Second try to clear the cache in the Portal
Clear the Portal cache. May be the below document help you in clearing the Portal cache.

3. If still your problem persists, copy the RFC with some other name and activate it. Then call this data service. This is not the proper way. But workaround to your issue.

RDS: Refresh VO in Data/Services panel stopped working

I noticed a rather unpleasant issue, as I migrated my project from 4.6 to 4.7, the code generator for RDS stopped working.
If I hit refresh on a BlazeDS/Java service, the new properties are found in the Data/Services explorer with the proper types, but the code for the value objects for that service are not refreshed, the new properties are not generated/inserted in the ActionScript Classes.
Is this a Beta issue, or needs additional setup/config for older projects?

Can you share the logs, you can find this in the metadata folder under the workspace.

How to pass the data from a input table to RFC data service?

Hi,
I am doing a prototype with VC, I'm wondering how VC pass the data from a table view to a backend data service? For example, I have one RFC in the backend system with a tabel type importing parameter, now I want to pass all the data from an input table view to the RFC, I guess it's possible but I don't know how to do it.
I try to create some events between the input table and data service, but seems there is no a system event can export the whole table to the backend data service.

Thanks for your answer, I tried the solution 2, I create "Submit" button, and ser the mapping scope to be "All data rows", it only works when I select at least one row, otherwise the data would not be passed.
Another question is I have serveral imported table parameter, for each table I have one "submit" event, I want these tables to be submitted at the same time, but if I click the submit button in one table toolbar, I can only submit the table data which has a submit button clicked, for other tables, the data is not passed, how can I achieve it?

RFC connection from SAP Data services to SAP ECC

We have data services set up in linux machine. I am trying to set up RFC connection between data services and SAP ECC.
From data management console after creating RFC connection i am getting "RFC_bad_connection" error message. Username , password, system number, hostname and client is working from SAP GUI and has all the authorizations. SAP gateway and service is name is correct.
Did anyone had similar issue and what was the solution. Do we have start the RFC connection from linux data services machine, i didn't see any sh executable to do so.

Changes made in RFC is not reflected in data services

Hi,
I am using a data service based on SAP R/3 RFC in my view
In my RFC i have some import parameters
and some export parameters
and when place a data service which is based on this RFC on the view for the first time , I am getting the import parameters and export parameters correctly
but the issue comes
when ever some one make changes in RFC and activating it again.
those changes are not reflected in data service (ex: a new import parameter is added or a parameter name is changed in the RFC, this is not reflected in data service)
i tried with deleting the existing data service and creating a new data service based on modified RFC
but even iam getting the data services details as pervious one ( as old data servie which i used at firt time)
why this is happening
how to solve this issue

Hi,
Yes you need to restert the J2EE engine. Because when you imort it first time then it holdes it in cache memory. It will not be updated untill you restert the server. You restert the server then try it , you will get the right result for updated RFC.

How to refresh a region using Active Data Service

Hi,
I need to refresh the region using ADS.
I am creating jsff which contains dynamic tables rendering. This jsff is bound to a task flow (having input parameter and refresh property set to "ifNeeded). The bounded task flow is dropped on a jspx as a region.
Now in order to refresh the region, I need to pass the updated param value, which would cause the region refresh.
I am able to do so on a button click from jspx page. But I have to make it auto refresh using ADS as per app requirement.
The issue is "AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance return null..if I am using it in startActive Data or changeData Update (where I am using ActiveDataUpdateEvent)".
Please guide me how can I achieve this.
I am using Jdev 11.1.1.4.

Instead of showing a popup, you do the following
1. set clientComponent=true for the hidden field
2. configured the PartialTrigger property of the region to point to the hidden component
If this doesn't work then try this
1. use <af:clientListener type="propertyChange" method="activeDataCallback" /> as used in the sample
2. define an af:serverListener that points to a managed bean that has access to the region (RichRegion) instance
3. The af:serverListener needs to be defined as a child of the outputText
4. change "activeDataCallback" to queue the server listener event (CustomEvent)
5. Use the managed bean to refresh the region

SAP BO Data Services XI 3.2 - Cannot Handle Multithreaded RFC Connection?

Hi Guys,
Just want to ask for your inputs if Data Services cannot handle multiple RFC connection request to BW system?
The scenario is:
There is one BODI job using RFC connection and trigger the 2nd job at the same time and it happen that the 2nd job failed.
Current version of SAP BO Data Services XI 3.2 that we are using is 12.2.2.1

One way to get to the multiprovider data is to use Open Hub with a DTP that gets the data from the multiprovider and exposes it as an open hub destination to Data Services. With Data Services XI 3.2 we now fully support Open Hub where Data Services will (1) start the process chain to load the data (2) read the data when process chain ended and (3) notify Open Hub when done so that the data can be purged again.

But I will also look into the why we show the multiproviders when browsing the metadata, but get an error when trying to extract using the ABAP method (not via Open Hub). You could be right in your assumptions below and we might just need to hide the multiproviders when browsing metadata.

Data Service System In Visual Composer 7.1

Recently ,i am focusing on the mirgration function of SAP NetWeaver,and visual composer is among them .
In netweaver 2004s enterpise portal ,i have done the system connection between Enterpise Portal and ECC and BW ,and the system alias can be accessed in visual composer .Both the bapi and infocube can be got by the system alias .The Visual Composer Application based on the backend data service is ok .
However ,i have registry the ecc system in CE Portal and its version is SAP Composte Environment SP5 .I can check out the system registry is ok . However ,when i open the Visual Composer on the CE Portal ,i couldnt find the system alias that i have registried .It is blank .Plus,we havent install SLD on the CE Java Server ,and solution manager is put forward to take the place of sld .
Can anybody help me out ? The problem has any relationship with the Enterpise Service Repository ?

Hi Eleanor,
first of all if you want to use SAP BW in Visual Composer for CE then you have to install Enhancement Package 1. SAP BW resp. queries, planning functions and so on is only supported with VC 7.11 (EhP1 for CE). I also recommend you to set up the SLD in your CE system resp. that it works as a "slave SLD" when you have an existing SLD in your landscape. There are wizards available in the NetWeaver Administrator.
Go to http://<host>:<port>/nwa to login into NetWeaver Administrator.
Navigate to Configuraton --> Scenario --> Configuration Wizard and choose the Initial setup of functional unit SLD.
If you want to have access to BAPIs there are two ways to access the system. You can define a portal system object to access the ECC or you can define in NWA a RFC connection to access ECC.

Error while testing Data Service

Hi Experts,
               I got error while testing the Data service of <b>Salesorder Createfromdat2</b>, in this when iam entering the Doc_Type as ZORD it is showing " This Doc type is not defined, what to do with this. Where as when i tried with WebDynPro its not showing any error with that perticular field.
Plz help me out wether to change some configurations....

   This is the problem with ur RFC/data inside table. in webdynpro we r using adaptive RFC model, if RFC is giving output while executing, webdynpro will also do the same. but in VC it will parse each field according to the meta data definition, If it is not matching it will give error.

How to auto scroll a table to last row when using Active Data Service? 11g

Has anyone got any experience with the ADF Active Data Service?
I am using an af:table in combination with the ADF Active Data Service and I want the table to scroll to the latest row when new data arrives.
It is basically a simple setup:
The value attribute of my table points to a bean that extends CollectionModel and implements ActiveDataModel. This works perfectly. A soon as I receive new data in my bean, the table is automatically updated (e.g. a new row is inserted). I use JDev version: 11.1.1.3
The problem is that I can not get the scroll bar to move down to the last row automatically when new data arrives. The auto scroll only works for the client that actually performs a submit. In other words the person that submits the new data, will see his scrollbar move down, this is because I added the following code:
RowKeySet rowkeysset = chatTableBinding.getSelectedRowKeys();
rowkeysset.clear();
rowkeysset.add(getRowKey());
AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(this.chatTableBinding);
This does not work for the clients that receive the new data via the Active data model. Apparently the active data service partially refreshes the table, but not in such a way that it sets the selected row to the last row?

Flash Builder 4, Data Services, PHP issue

I have installed a fresh Galileo + Fb4 plugin + WST for eclipse on my dev server/workstation.
I have installed a standalone Fb4 on my laptop.
When I use the shwanky new Data services feature and create a PHP service... I can create the service fine... but there are no methods showing up for the data service/class. The class shows up in the Data/Services list -- and when I right-click -> Refresh (other options are greyed out) I get the following alert Error message:
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: protocol = http host = null
I click OK and procede in my ignorance to scour the internet for a solution...
I feel like a teenager who was given a brand new Corvette (Fb4)... only.... the key doesn't seem to fit the ignition. I CANT WAIT to drive it!
On a side note.... my laptop works fine? Go figure. I can right click and get all the goodies (Configure Return Type, etc.) that I'm suppose to get on that installation...
I would like to get this working on my dev workstation. Is it something to do with Fb4 as a plugin on top of Zend PDT?
Does anyone know where to look (maybe a config file or setting) that sets the value for this:

I haven't been able to find any useful information online about what causes this error or how to correct it.
Additionally, sometimes a backing bean used in each of these task flows is constructed twice, and the following is logged in between the constructions:
<RichWindowManager> <updateCurrentWindowIdForPartialRequest> No window specified in request
<SessionDataUpdateManager> <__getPageDataUpdateManager> cannot register active data when window has no name
Neither of these things happen 100% of the time. Has anyone else experienced either of these issues?

My entity A has 50,000 records.
Entity B has a domain attribute "City" from entity A.
I successfully add new records to the entity B, but after refresh I cannot see any data in the domain attribute "City" for new records (empty cels)!!! Although in the Web client (or through SSMS in table) I can see the data in "City"
attribute (e.g. code_095 {Moscow}).
If I reduce the number of records in the entity A to 20 000, then I see code_095 {Moscow} in Excel 2012 SP1 plagin for MDS.
Bug???

Hide data services in VC

Hi,
I have defined several RFC destinations in the NWCE system using the NWA. I have granted the VisualComposer role to several users to allow them to model their own applications. However, I don't want them to have access the all RFC destinations. Currently I'm not able to restrict the list of data services that is offered to the VC user. In particular, all RFC destination defined in the system are listed.
Has anybody an idea how to approach this problem?

Interesting use case
The only thing I can think of will not prevent users from accessing restricted 'areas' but will at least help you pointing them to their zones:
Since the mapping of users per system is done on the NWA tool, you may create duplicated destinations for each such destination that you want to give different users to.
For example, say you have a system Sys1 on which UserA has only read permissions and User2 has write permissions
User1 and User2 are the users of the backend system Sys1
Now assume you have 2 VC users, for example VC1 and VC2, who you would like to give the repective permissions, for example, VC1 can have read permissions on Sys1 and VC2 can have write permissions.
Create 2 destinations, named VC1_Sys1 and VC2_Sys1 where the backend user used in each system is the respective one so that for system VC1_Sys1 you would use User1 and for the VC2Sys1 you would use User2
Although VC1 and VC2 may now search on both systems (as I said there is no way to filter the existing systems configured in the NWA), they could be directed to the systems prefix-ing with their names accordingly
Again, not an ideal solution but at least can tackle a portion...
