Refresh without bean

Just curious, but is there a way to refresh a page without using a baking bean? I'm using ADF BC and was wondering about this.
Thanks
William

Hi,
- Just add a command button or link with no action associated and press it
- UseJavaScript on the client (onEvent) and execute the command button or link
- Don'T use any PPR on actions like submit

  • Mapping refresh without database access

    Hello. I asked this before about 10 months ago (and the answer was in the
    negative back then), but am wondering if there's been any change...
    Is it now possible to run mappingtool refresh without it trying to access
    the database? i.e. Without the need to specify the following Connection
    parameters:
    javax.jdo.option.ConnectionUserName: xxx
    javax.jdo.option.ConnectionPassword: xxx
    javax.jdo.option.ConnectionURL: jdbc:oracle:thin:@xyz:1521:ABC
    I just want to update/create the (file based) mappings without connecting to

    No, it is not possible.

  • Af:Table data refresh without calling ManagedBean constructor

    Hi,
    I have an adf application jspx page where I have af:selectOneChoice and af:table showing default data. On selecting af:selectOneChoice value (assigned, completed etc.) I am calling managed bean method which calls task flow client api which gets the task details based on af:selectOneChoice value and show in the adf table.
    When ever I change the af:selectOneChoice value, first it is callling 'valueChanged(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent)' method in managed bean and able to get the records based on filter value(Example: Assigned). Issue is immediatly after that Managed bean constructor also calling which overrides the previous query and get the records based on default filter value (Example: All).
    here is <af:selectOneChoice & <af:table code:
    <af:selectOneChoice id="rsoc" autoSubmit="true"
    binding="#{backingBeanScope.backing_taskdetails.rsoc}"
    label="Status" valueChangeListener="#{backingBeanScope.backing_taskdetails.valueChanged}">
    <f:selectItem itemValue="A" itemLabel="All" />
    <f:selectItem itemValue="AG" itemLabel="Assigned" />
    <f:selectItem itemValue="C" itemLabel="Completed" />
    </af:selectOneChoice>
    <af:table emptyText="#{bindings.taskList.viewable ? 'No data to display.' : 'Access Denied.'}"
    var="row" columnStretching="multiple"
    value="#{backingBeanScope.backing_taskdetails.taskList}"
    immediate="false" rowSelection="single"
    binding="#{backingBeanScope.backing_taskdetails.t1}"
    id="t1"
    inlineStyle="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; border:0pt none; "
    partialTriggers="::rsoc">
    Here partialTriggers is invoking managed bean. So Can I refresh only table data without calling managed bean constructor on selection of <af:selectOneChoice?
    Any inputs will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
    here it is my adfc-config.xml file.

    <!--oracle-jdev-comment:managed-bean-jsp-link:1test.jspx-->
    </managed-bean>
    </adfc-config>
    I am not using adf taskflow (Should I use this, I am not sure as I am new to ADF. Please suggest). My execution flow is I have 'Human Task SOA application' which I am calling from adf application (managed bean --> workflow cllient API --> Human Task SOA Application) and showing task details in cutom UI screens. I do not want to use BPM worklist application as I need my own screens.

  • Problem with cache refresh entity bean / server node

    Hello,
    ive got a big problem and not found answer in sdn until now.
    Ive got a job that gets data from maxdb by sapjob - jco - session bean - entity bean - database.
    this job works daily. the data to work with is written directly to database from external.
    on first execute it works, but second etc not. i search for answer and i guess something:
    entity bean is cached (increase percormance?) with results of the select and do not know about new database entries when they are written directly to database. so second select says: there is no new data (but they are there).
    i only get this new data when i restart netweaver server node, then it works, but only for one time. then result is in cache and then i have to do same procedure before it goes (restart server).
    how can i get this data? is there any setting for force node to refresh cache? or any other settings to affect something like this?
    we have to go live with this in august.
    thx for help.
    Version: NW04, SP21

    thanks at first.
    OSS was the next step i consider, enforcedly.
    I hoped that there was a kind of timeout in visual admin or somewhere else where (for example) i can set a special time (seconds?) for refreshig the cache. Or i can set a flag for "do not cache entity beans".
    Someone else any idea?
    Nowadays on test system whe have made a task that starts windows every night so that netweaver also is "fresh". a kind of resolution but not the best and no resolution for the productiv system. or whe have to write a kind of batch job that only restarts server node once a day.
    New Info:
    I think cache was filled directly after restart.
    when we restart, then data are written, and then our application wanted to read them, they are also not seen.
    The data are only seen by bean when the restart takes place AFTER the data are written into db.
    So we change restart time to point after data are written. so we will test if this works, on monday we will see.

  • Automatic Block refresh without execute_query

    Can I have my block refresh automatically without doing an execute query ? I would like to refresh only the lines that got changed or updated in the DB by another process.
    -Ramesh

    Thanks for the reply.
    I have upgraded to Patch 14 and I do commit within the Form and have the DML Returning Value = YES. I still do not see the changes in the rows until I refresh or execute the query.
    I do not want to use a timer or some kind of polling to the server to see if the changes happened on the DB. Ideal way would be to have the server (8i) send the client any changes on the DB automatically and Form accept them without any requering or refreshing.

  • Why is my gmail inbox not refreshing without clearing cache

    without refreshing the cache on the browser, i cannot see any new gmail inbox contents.
    gmail site knows this as a fault and says to revert to a stable version of the browser. I am on 3.6, which, as far as i am aware, is the latest stable version.

    There is no Flash player version 15... as in your code:
    <param name="swfversion" value="15.0.0.0" />
    For some reason Adobe thought it would be a good idea to target a Flash player version (15) as default.....which may be out a couple years in the future. Go figure!!!
    If you don't like player version 9, change to 10 or 11.... just not 15 (yet).

  • Database refresh without using RMAN duplicate

    Hi All,

    Thanks.

    1) You use nid only to change the dbid.
    2) I have done this type of cloning much more than 50 times.
    3) As Iordan Iotzov pointed out, in 11gR2 you can run DUPLICATE database without being connected to the PROD
    Here is a sample code of how to do it assuming both file system are the same:
    # -- RMAN Restore to another server
    rman <<EOF2
    CONNECT TARGET /;
    STARTUP NOMOUNT
    SET DBID 987654321;
    CONNECT CATALOG rman/rman@rcvcat
    RUN {
        SET UNTIL SEQUENCE=5678 THREAD=1;
        ALLOCATE CHANNEL ch0 DEVICE TYPE DISK;
        RESTORE CONTROLFILE;
    ALTER DATABASE MOUNT;
    RUN
      SET UNTIL SEQUENCE=5678 THREAD=1;
      ALLOCATE CHANNEL ch0 DEVICE TYPE DISK;
      ALLOCATE CHANNEL ch1 DEVICE TYPE DISK;
      ALLOCATE CHANNEL ch2 DEVICE TYPE DISK;
      ALLOCATE CHANNEL ch3 DEVICE TYPE DISK;

  • Refresh Without Updating iOS?

    Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I can't figure out how, using Configurator 1.4.2, to refresh my iPad carts without automatically installing iOS updates.
    If I fiddle around with the settings like changing wallpaper and putting apps into folders, when I run a refresh with "Do not update" chosen, it doesn't actually refresh the iPads back to their default configurations based on the backup I've chosen.  That causes problems because the kids are constantly changing wallpapers, rearranging apps into folders that shouldn't be there, etc.
    The headache with allowing the automatic iOS updates is that a standard refresh all of the sudden takes quite a bit longer when an unexpected update gets pushed out (like 7.0.4).  Also, then I'm forced to create a new "Master" backup based on the new iOS version or I wind up with all the iPads having to step through the setup screens.
    Any ideas?

    We were told by our Apple SE that as of right now, in prepare mode, when you enable supervision, AC will force the newest version of the iOS that the device supports. There seems to be no way around this. It's an issue you probably should take up with your district's Apple SE as it's biting a lot of people.

  • JTree refresh without collapsing my nodes

    Hello,
    I have a JTree using a custom TreeModel. I've also extended the TreeNode.
    What is the most elegant method to refresh the tree or only a node without
    collapsing the currently expanded nodes?
    Please note that there are multiple types of TreeNodes each representing
    a different object to display in the tree and contains an object that represents its
    value. Also the node has a method createChildren() to determine and create
    the child TreeNodes. Children are loaded from a business delegate. I need the
    tree to re-query the model (maybe for only one node) about the data and redisplay
    the changes without affecting the collapsed/expanded state of the nodes that
    are not changed (not supposed to refresh).
    My model actually asks the node for data like getChildsCount(), isLeaf() etc, etc.
    I'd like to say:
    myCustomNodeInstance.refresh();
    or
    myCustomTreeModelInstance.refresh(myCustomNodeInstance);
    and all nodes that are not children of myCustomNodeInstance to preserve
    their state.
    Thanx

    Did you try to call repaint() method on JTree ?

  • Detail table refreshing without partial trigger!!!

    Hi,
    my Jdeveloper version is 11.1.2.3.0
    I have a master detail structure on my page and i have two weird behaviors (that i guess are related).
    I created the master detail tables in the classic way:
    I dragged the master data control and doped it on the page as an ADF table (id t1)
    Then i dragged the detail data control (from inside the master data control) and drop it as an ADF table (id t2).
    I verified that the partial trigger property of the detail table does not contain the id of the master table (t1).
    however (the first weird behavior), at run time, the detail table shows always the right information of the selected master row.
    How can this happen?
    The second weird behavior is that i have createInsert button (created by drag and drop of the createInsert operation of the dataControl) in the toolbar of the master table.
    If i create a new row and fill the required data then navigate to another row, the detail table is refreshed correctly and shows the details of the newly selected row, but if i go back (re-select) the newly created row the detail table does not refresh and still shows the detail of the previous master row!!! (furthermore, i have input date in this newly create row, so if, at this stage, i click on the calendar icon to open it, the calendar doesn't open)
    I'm i doing something wrong? or should i change any property of the tables?
    Thanks for your help

    Hi Timo,
    Thank you for your reply.
    Actually no, i didn't commit the new record at this point and this is the problem.
    If i commit the new record (using the commit button created from the commit operation of the module), the page refreshes and works correctly.
    The problem occurs if i change the selected row (and then re-selected the newly created row) before committing the changes.
    Concerning the auto PPR, do you think that deactivating it may help? and if yes, how can i deactivated for this page only?
    I tried to change the "change event policy" property of both the master and the detail iterator in the page binding from ppr to "non" but nothing changed. The detail table still refreshes, and the problem with newly created master row still appears.
    One adiitinal note: i downloaded the sample from Andrejus Baranovskis's Blog
    http://andrejusb-samples.blogspot.com/2009/03/jdevadf-sample-create-operation-for.html
    and the page is working correctly. I also created a jsf page in this project with master detail using the same method i used in my project and this pages also works correctly.
    So this means that the problem is with the verision of jdev no? but what what is it???
    Thank you again

  • Auto Refreshing without losing the existing data

    I am opening a new window from the main page to create a new category in the SQL database.I want the new category to get automatically added to the main page when I close the new window, without resetting the datas which I had entered in the main page.Is it possible??? Pls. Help.

    hi Prasanth,
    This is a lil bit different one.
    I have a servlet generated Html page called Initial and I'm calling it in the browser.This page displays different categories taken from the DB and I have to enter values for each of this categories and then I submit it to the same servlet ie Initial.java, this servlet will then add these values to a table in the DB corresponding to the diff. categories.
    Now inorder to allow the user to create a new category while entering the values, I've given a hyperlink which will open a small window from the Initial page itself and allows the user to give a new cat. and submit it. This small window(another servlet generated Html : NewCategory.java), is submitted to itself which will then add this new cat. to the DB.
    ie it is not submitted to the First one: Initial
    Now , what I want is , when the user adds a new cat. and close the small window this newly added one should also b there in the main page, without affecting the early entered values.Is this possible???
    (As 'insoft' has mentioned, if I submit the small window: NewCategory to Initial, then it'll create a whole lot of mess as I have to do a lot of other things in both of these servlet.And it'll b uncomfortable for the user also. But if there is no other way I'll have to try that).
    Do u have any suggestions!!!Pls. do.
    Regards Anu

  • Servlet ,JSP interaction  without bean

    Does the communication between servlet and JSP always need to be through a bean ?
    I don't really have an object that i need to work with . I just need to do basic processing operations.

    Well there are two basic approaches.
    1 - Write the sql query on your page and output the data directly there (using JSTL sql tags of course, NOT scriptlet code :-))
    2 - Writing beans to represent the data, and a java class/method that runs the query and loads the data into the bean.
    #1 has the advantage of being simple
    #2 is a bit more complicated, but has the advantage of being more flexible, and testable. You can test the bean, and its loading method independantly of the JSP.
    It is also normally easier to write java code in a java class, as opposed to scriptlet in a JSP.
    I am not accepting user inputs. I am displaying data read from the server and let the user choose them.What do you do once the user "chooses" them?

  • Can a function be refreshed without rebuilding it

    I have a function I have built that takes 4 parameters; last parameter is optional. I am adding a 5th parameter that will be optional but I want to register the function with the new parameter. I didn't notice any button or option in the Discoverer Administration tool to REFRESH the function. Is the only way to get the parameter added is to unregister and re-register the pl/sql function? Thanks for all the input ahead of time :-)

    WOW, I must have been blind Rod. I was obviously not thinking. I went back to the admin interface to verify I could do this and I can :-).. This acutally raises another question which is if you do not place the name of the column in the "Name" attribute, how would Discoverer know what to associate the new arguement to? I quickly added a bogus parameter to the function and when I made it required, in order to run the old report 1 conditions was deleted with a calculation that was used. If I make the bogus parameter "Optional" it then didnt destroy the prior report that was built against it. In either case, when I "Validate" the function it said ALL IS WELL (dumb system :-) Anyway, thanks for letting me know about adding this manually because I painstakingly saved all the descriptions out on the Function and Parameters so that I could delete it and re-add the function but your way would have short cut the process :-)

  • DWM refresh without restart xorg/dwm

    So every now and then an application I run will resize my screen resolution against my will. Thats all well and dandy, but it screws up DWM as you can see by this screenshot. My question is, is there a way to refresh dwm or to get it back somehow? Its kind of annoying.

    Interestingly enough toggling the status bar does not help. It just hides the status bar, and then when I bring it back the black un-refreshed chunk of the bar is still there.
    a) Its usually wine applications that decide to resize the screen to some default value.
    b) I guess by "generate", here is my .xinitc:
    #!/bin/bash
    eval $(cat ~/.fehbg) &
    #google-musicmanager &
    imwheel & # Because chromium scrolls like a fucking dead person
    wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Steam/steam.exe &
    pidgin &
    /usr/bin/dropbox start &
    chromium-browser &
    while true
    do
    LOCALTIME=$(date)
    xsetroot -name "$LOCALTIME"
    sleep 5s
    done &
    exec dwm
    I think I'll adopt the looping dwm thing and see if that helps.
