Refreshing of a report periodically

Hello,
Wish to now how can a ALV report be refreshed periodically with the updated information? For Instance if a report display the list of all Sales Documents and periodically new documents are created then the report must be refershed with the updated Sales Docs.

hi masters,
i m working on alv report where i have to change the data. after changing the data i have to do the refresh for that i m using the method below

when i clicked on refresh button it is going to pf-status after that as i shown in below code it goes to refresh_report. but in this 'form refresh_report' it won't display the data. it goes into the infinite loop. within that form- endform. plz can u give me solution for this problem?

Getting error while refreshing a Webi reports for a specific universe

Hi Experts I am trying to refresh a WEBI Report but getting this error: A database error occured.
The database error text is (cs)"Specified network layer is invalid" Previously this was working fine...
from today itself I am getting this error
My DB is DB2 DB Drivers: DB2 V9 ->JDBC Driver

Test Connection is always successful...

Error (IES10901) (WIS 10901) while refreshing the Webi report

Hi Gurus,
We have created webi reports using Universe design tool on top of BEX Query based on 0SD_C03 cube and now we are facing Database error: A runtime exception has occured. (Error loading cube 0sd_c03 (catalog : % 3). (IES 10901 ) (WIS 10901) while trying to refresh the Webi report from Data Access--> Edit--> Run Query while its running fine when I refresh the report using refresh button option in Webi.
When I run the the query in rsrt its working absolutely fine.
Note that we are using BOBJ 4.0 SP7 and this issue has come recently.
Any idea or help on this would be appreciated.

are you getting this error constantly or sometimes?
what type of connection are you using for your Webi report
Is it Specified user name/password OLAP connection or SSO Olap connection
If your are using Specified user name/password OLAP then try with SSO connection because SAp recommendation is not to use Specified user name/password OLAP connections..to resolve this kind of issues please restart DSL bridge..

Reg: Error while refreshing the WebI Report

Hi all,
I created WebI report based on universe that is connected to Excel data. Through DSN I m accesing Excel Data . I created same DSN in server also. If I refresh the webI Report in BO server it tells the following error.
A database error occured. The database error text is: [Microsoft][ODBC Excel Driver] System resource exceeded.. (WIS 10901)
Before that its working fine. what may be the problem?

Sales report period wise

Hi
Is there any report in SAP to know the customer wise Sales Organisation wise sales order peport.
we need to konw customer wise sales orders report period wise. how many salea orders we booked for the customer wise.
EX: Customer No | Customer Name| Sales document type |Total Sales order(Total of sales orders).
Plase let me know any report available for this kind of information.

Group and drill down and roll up by the most recent SCD2 type member in reporting period in SSAS

I am new to SSAS and cube world so my problem might not be big of a challenge for you but it is for me.
Here is my challenge :
My simplified datamart relation star schema model looks like this (2 dimensions and one fact):
DATE dimension - Date_Id, Date, Fiscal_Year, Fiscal_Quearter, Fiscal_Month, Calendar_Month, etc
CLIENT dimension – Cient_SK, Client_Id, and two SCD2 type fields : Status,and Class and, of course, Start_Date, End_Date to keep track of SCD2 along with a Current_Flag . I can have several records for the same Client_Id
over a given reporting period.
FACT – Date_ID, Client_SK, Client_Id
Fact table is daily snapshot that loads one record per client only if a client was active on that day.
Requirement:
Count number of currently active clients group by “Status” or “Class” with option to roll-up to the total count of clients
Count total number of clients who were active in the specific reporting period (period can be fiscal year or fiscal quarter or a month) grouped by the most recent “Label” or most recent “Status” or most recent “Class” in that reporting period.
I created a cube and created a measure “Distinct_Count” that does just that - distinct count on Client_Id. It works just fine for current date as well as for any given reporting period and I have nice rolling-up/down thru Fiscal_Year-Fiscal_Quarter- Month.
But I am having problem grouping by any of 3 attributes with SCD2 type in CLIENT dimension. I do not know how to get the latest active value (member) in the reporting period

For example:
If selected reporting period is Fiscal_Quarter is Q2 that covers period Aug-Sep-Oct (Client_SK: 89, 95, 97) and if my client was active in that period, when I group active client’s count by “Status”
attribute I need to count this client in the group “Good” since that was the most recent value for this client in this period (Q2) for this attribute (Status).
I do not know if this is important but just in case: user interface could be Excel application or any MDX enabled Microsoft or third party visualisation tool.

PNP standard screen Reporting period

Hi All,
The PNP standard screen has a parameter Reporting period.
Could anyone please explain that if I select a Key date then what will this date be matched against in the database? Will it be the begda of an infotype?
Also, same with selecting "other period" what would this range be checked against?
I would appreciate your help.

Hi,
When you select Key Date, all the employee records fetched which valid as on the Key date (i.e. All the records with BEGDA < KEYDATE < ENDDATE).
Similarly for other field, employee records are fetched as on valid on the range given in the 'other period'.

          Using the reporting event AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT , we can do this by looping through the "screen" and making the screen period field "active = 0".
    LOOP AT SCREEN.
      IF screen-group1 = 'FF'.
        screen-active = 0.
        MODIFY SCREEN.
      ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.

Error when trying to refresh the current report-Invalid prompt def.WIS00005

I am trying to create a Webi report using a Universe created with Universe Design Tool 4.0. I have created a new universe with a secured relational connection from a cube in our BBD system. The Universe can be created and exported in UDT (and when I test the connection, I get a message saying the server is responding). I can see values for the BEx query in BEx analyzer.
When I open Webi and connect to a universe, I can see the universe, but when I put a dimension to our results tab and go to "run query", I first get the error "Error when trying to refresh the current report". If I close this error I get the error "Invalid Prompt Definiton - WIS00005". Has anybody else had this issue and if so, where can I begin to troubleshoot the error?

Hi,
Please note that if the object parses at Universe level it may still fail at runtime especially for the prompts.
If you still experience the error after applying Patch 11 please analyze the characteristics of the prompt, get some trace logs with High level of detail, they surely will help.

Refreshing of a report

I have built up a report which has some Oracle Portal links on some of the columns. Each link displays a form with relevant data. I can update some of the columns by changing the values displayed on the form. It is getting updated successfully. Now the problem comes. When I go back to the report by hitting the back button of the browser, I am not asked to refresh that report. As a result, the report displays out of date data. Is there anyway to refresh that report automatically or manually (i.e. display a warning: page has expired)?
Any help is much appreciated.

Sorry! I did not present my problems clearly before. I will try again.
My problem is with the 'BACK' link. If the user makes some changes on the form
and clicks 'Update' to save changes, i can add the URL of the report in the "on successful submission" of the form to solve the problem. However, at any time, the user can click the 'Back' link to go back to the previous Report screen. If the previous report screen is not refreshed, it will still display out of date information.
Therefore, if i can force the refresh of the report everytime the user comes back to the report, i can be sure that the report always display the current data from the database.

I have to refresh the report only when the data in the database changes. If I use a variable then I would have to set the variable to some fixed number of seconds and the report would be refreshed every 'n' seconds. That is not what is expected.

Different reporting period

Hi Gurus,
We would like to make reports on different periods than standard. Our reporting period is from the 26th of previous month to the 25th of this month, so e.g. for the month January 2009 we would like to show all the records from the 26th of December 2009 to the 25th of January 2009.
Is there any possibility to do so? Thank you in advance for your reaction!

The report parameters are always saved from your last report. If you need one set frequently, you probably need to switch the parameter not as often. That may help.
