Refreshing the Analyzer Form Reports

Hi ,I am facing one major problem with the complex views developed in Form designer. I created form reports with "Jump to a view" button, "services" button and "Text" controls. I am usning the Java applet web client.Problem : when i browse these reports using the internet explorer, all the controls present on the report are not appearing initially. When i minimize and maximize the screen, then all the controls will appear.Do you have any suggestions. I would appreciate any help given or any suggestions.Thanks a lot in advance..Regards..Rao

I guess I was not clear in my earlier post.
As you said, I have already set the Hyperlink to 'Display'. But the problem is, when the contents of the Show form are displayed, a new window opens.
I do not want a new window to be opened. Instead, I want the contents on the Show form to be displayed in the same window (that is, where the renderItemList contents are displayed).
More specifically, I just want the contents of the renderItemList window to be refreshed and replaced by the Show form content.
Any idea how to go about this?

Edit the report page > Report Attributes > Change the report template for different look and feel
You can also customize the report template or even create your own template

Error while refreshing the BO WebI report

Dear Friends,
I have created BO report on top of BICS Query in BO 4.0(have used aroung 15 BICS queries in to the report) and able to see the correct data.
I have used hierarchies and also selected levels in to webI report. Last week I am able to refresh the report but since two days I am getting some strange errors.
Errors:
1) Unable to run the empty Query.
2) When trying to invoke the method com.sap.ip.bi.bics.dataacess.consumer.queryview.results.et.IRsAxisTupleelement.Getcharateristicmember() of an object loaded from Local Variable 'element'(WIS00000)
Can you please help me on this isse.

How to map the all forms/reports server?

Hi all,
in our environment we are having 5 windows (o/s)forms server the problem is for everytime if we deploy
a new forms and reports we need it deploy it on all servers. some times we might not deploy in one node . so it would been a problem for us. so is there anyway to do it automatized like if i deploy it one node immediately it ll reflect all the rest nodes in one shot (to avoid the deploy in all nodes)
first we have to stop the services
second we have to deploy in one node and needs to be reflect in all nodes
third start the services in one nodes (it ll reflect in all nodes)
Do u have any idea about this. pls share it

Select list null value issue - for filtering the tabular form report

hello,
I have a tabular form created on emp table and in the table their are entries for the employees who don't have a location, like it is null for some of the employees.
Now I have created a select list item - for filtering the results based on location.
my select query for select list item is
select distinct location_name d,location_id r from emp order by 1
-- so my select list contains all the distinct location_name including the null on my tabular form.
so based on the selelcted value(in the select list), I am able to filter the results in my tabular form.
but the thing is that when i try to select an null value from my select list - i am not able to filter my report - like its displaying all the records, its not filtering.
can anyone help me out with this.

Using WebCache provide 30% degradation of the application (Forms/Report)

Hi,
We are using webcache statdalone on Windows 10.1.2.0.2 for loadbalancing forms and report.
After doing some simple test we get a slowdown of number of transaction because Webcache is simply sleeping and doing nothing.
We are using two middle tiers 10.1.2.2.1 and one webcache 10.1.2.0.2 as LBR.
Do you think that we need to upgrade the webcache + patch to solve the problem or do you know some configuration issues to solve the problem.

I have setup 2 Apps servers version (10.1.3.0) apps1.mysite.com:7777 and apps2.mysite.com:7777 and the url for application is as following:
apps1.mysite.com:7777/application
apps2.mysite.com:7777/application
I have installed and setup one webcache version (10.1.2.1) wc.mysite.com:7777
Can you help me how I can configure these two apps servers with webcache. I am very confused with origin server and site definition. I have gone over to some docs but still Dont know how to configure the above apps servers and applications with the webcache. As you have already done it so i am looking some help from you. What to define in Origin Server and what to define in Site Definitions and how I can access my application through webcache.

How to refresh the data in Adobe forms

Hi,
I have created an Adobe form through SFP transaction and a print program which passes data to the form through an internal table. The probelm is, first time the data is getting printed perfectly as per the internal table, but next time when I again run the program for new set of data, the form doesn't display the current data. It still has previous data in it, though the internal table contains the correct data. Can any one tell me why this is happening? Is there any way to refresh the adobe form data?

Where are the Physical Files of Portal App (Forms,Reports,etc)

Hi..
We are developing our portal using Oracle Portal..
We use the Portal form,report,link,url,dynamic page etc in our development.
The case is,
Our QA want to restrict the access to the file (version control).
So, they want to do a backup/copy of the development files (form,report,dynamic page etc..) and if there are changes to the portal, they want to use the backup as the development files.
The problem is,
we not sure where the files are..
We don't know where the forms,report,dynamic page are restored and what are they (.jsp?.cvf?.java?.fmb?.rdf?)
Can anybody help?
p/s Fyi,we also use jsp..so, we can see the physical files..e.g. index.jsp,login.jsp....but for the portal form,report,link????Where are their physical files?

Hi,
Portal Application components do not have any physical files. It is available as a package in the database. You can see it in the manage component screen. Clicking on the package body link will show you the whole package. You can copy this into a .SQL file and compile it later whenever you want, in the schema where the application is built.

How to add a new font into Report Builder and Oracle Forms/Reports Server?

I've searched the forum and can't find this being discussed.
My developers run Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2 on their XP laptops.
Their reports run (in production) on Oracle Forms/Reports Server 10.1.2.0.2.
This server runs on MS Windows 2003, SP2.
They've got a client who wants reports using the "Garamond Western" font.
So....how do I get this font onto the developer's Report Builder laptops, and onto the Oracle Forms/Reports Server?
I've moved various 'Garamond' fonts into C:\WINDOWS\FONTS on both the laptops and the server, but neither seem to recognize it.

This answers 1/2 of my question.
The developer can now use Report Builder on his laptop, with the new fonts.
But when he moves this new Report to the Oracle Application Server/Forms-Reports Server, it fails to use the new fonts.
The Oracle App Server/Forms-Report Server is Version 10.1.2.0.2. It runs on MS Windows 2003, SP2.
I have installed the exact same fonts on this server, into C:\WINDOWS\Fonts.
I have used REGEDIT to change REPORTS_PATH....and placed C:\WINDOWS\Fonts; as the first value in this field.
I have then stopped and restarted the Forms-Reports Server.

Installing a Forms & Report middle Tier (10.1.2) on a 10.1.3 farm

I have to install a new farm based on the 10.1.3 release. I will install the Infrastracture and one middle tier in two different Oracle Homes. The problem is that I need also Forms & Report Services, and we know that there will be no F&R services until release 11. The question is:
can I install a 10.1.2 middle tier instance on top of a 10.1.3 infrastructure (with a different Oracle Homve, of course)?

AS 10.1.3 doesn't have any infrastructure (as well as not having Web Cache etc). The latest full release is 10.1.2.0.2, which includes infrastructure and Forms/Reports. For Identity Management, I'd recommend the new 10.1.4.
As indicated above, the latest Forms/Reports release is 10.1.2.0.2 (patched to 10.1.2.2), which is the one you should use. You can install either the full Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 with Forms/Reports, or use the Forms&Reports Only release.

I installed Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer on Win7.
I have install:
jdk 64bit
Oracle db 11g (64bit)
Oracle Weblogic 1033 (wls1033_generic.jar)
Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer (ofm_pfrd_win_11.1.1.2.0_64/ofm_pfrd_win_11.1.1.3.0_64)
Configure Components Screen:I just choose the Oracle Forms/reports Oracle Forms/reports builder Enterprise Manager Oracle Web Cache .
Configure Ports Screen:Auto Port Configuration.
Specify Proxy Details Screen:No
Specify Application OID Screen:NO
But when I configure the "Configuring the Classic Instance" under the "Oracle Classic 11g-Home1". It's always pending in "Creating the domain". No any Error information.
the related log information:

Since your weblogic is on version 10.3.3, you can only succesfully configure your fusion middleware when you are on version 11.1.1.3.
So (1) restart the install of fusion middleware 11.1.1.2, (2) choose install type INSTALL ONLY, (3) start installation of fusion middleware 11.1.1.3 and finally (4) configure fusion middleware using AS_ORACLE_HOME\bin\config.bat

Weblogic Server upgrade along with Forms & Reports

Hi Gurus,
I would need some help on upgrading one our Weblogic server from 10.3.2 to 10.3.6. Also, we have forms & reports ( version: 11.1.1.2 ) configured on this server and we would have to upgrade this to version: 11.1.2.1
Can you please help me or point me to a good document to do this.
I am a DBA and my weblogic experience is very little.

Hi Prakash,
First, very smart decision to move to 11gR2 Forms - performance is much better in 11gR2. Customers i've worked with, are very happy with it compared to 11gR1.
Now, if you want to upgrade from 11gR1 (11.1.1.2) to 11gR2 Forms (11.1.2.1), I would do a new install. Simply because, there is no simple/straight-forward Architecture upgrade path from 11gR1 to 11gR2 Forms. And the installation will also be a clean isntall. Don't worry about your forms/reports source code, you can just recompile no problem in 11gR2 Forms.
If you want to do a re-install heres some things to consider:
1.) Update and/or Install an Oracle certified JDK - you can verify the correct JDK in the certification matrix provided by oracle: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/oracle-forms-11gr2certmatrix-519680.xls
2.) Verify your OS is certified with Forms 11gR2
3.)Install WLS in a new middleware Home.
4.) At his point, you should install the Oracle Forms 11gR2 Binaries Home in your new 10.3.6 Middleware Home.
5.) Optional: If you want the same exact ports as 11gR1 Forms installation - you'll have to shutdown all the 11gR1 Forms/Reports processes- OPMN Processes, WLS_FORMS, WLS_REPORTS, AdminServer.
5.) Run the Forms 11gR2 Configuration Wizard to install and configure a new Forms 11gr2 domain.
6.) After the configuration wizard completes successfully:
- Migrate over your formsweb.cfg/env settings
- Migrate ORACLE_HOME customizations
- Definitely install/configure webutil components
- Migrate over any other additional customizations

BPC 10.1 Unified Model - Is it a must to have BEx query to create an input form/report?

Dear All,
Have a cube(Unified) created in BW 7.4.
To create an input form using that cube(unified), Is it mandatory that I need a BEx query for the input form/report?
i.e. To create an input form/report in BPC 10.1 Unified environment using a Unified model, is it a MUST to have a BEx query in place? Or, can I create an input form using 10.1 Unified model without BEx query using 10.1 Unified model?

Hi Peri,
It doesn't matter what you include in the rows and what in columns or free characteristics: think of it as a sub-cube of the original cube. You are basically listing Dimensions you need in a group of you reports and can add new measures.
In BPC report you'll arrange them on the screen, format, protect, etc.
So, some of it is a repeat (not all tho), but for different purposes.

MS CRM 2013 : F5/refresh the page and creates new record

Refresh the saved form again open as new record.
I have opened the phone call form from member entity, phone call opened has a new window.
I have entered data and save the form and it saved the data.If same form I refresh then it creates as a new form instead of exit form.
I think this issue was resolved in Rollup 5 in MS CRM 2011.
Please let me know how to solve this issue in MS CRM 2013.

Passing parameters to Forms/reports

Once the portal user logs in (using the single sign on), they will need the ability to pull up employee information.
I have a table that stores their employee_num and pin_num. In order to see their info, they must correctly enter
these 2 columns. A manager would also be able to see an employees info. That being the case, I need to prompt
for employee_num and pin_num. I will need to use these values in my 'where clauses' of forms and reports
(so I only display the appropriate info). Since there will be many forms/reports that a employee can run, I only
want to prompt for this info 1 time and pass it to the appropriate forms, reports, HTML portlets etc.
I know you can have bind variables in reports (and have the user enter), but there will be many reports and they
would have to enter this info each time. Is there a way to have this info automatically passed to the report?

As Chetan has correctly suggested, it will be better to use a table to store
the emp no and their pin against their login session ids.
You can have a table as :-
create table emp_pin (
session_id integer,
emp_no integer,
emp_pin integer,
constraint emp_pin_fk1 foreign key (session_id) references <portal_schema>.wwctx_sso_session$(id) on delete cascade
When a user logs into portal, a session_id is created and this session_id is
deleted when the user logs out. The delete cascade rule will clean up your
table entry when the user logs out.
You can get this session_id using the <portal_schema>.wwctx_api.get_sessionid function.
Now you need to create 2 functions that would return the emp_no and emp_pin.
You can then use these functions in the sql query of your reports. This way you
need not use bind variables at all.
Example:-
create or replace function get_empno(p_sess_id in integer)
return varchar2
is
l_empno varchar2(2000);
begin
select emp_no
into l_empno
where session_id = p_sess_id;
return l_empno;
end;
create or replace function get_emp_pin(p_sess_id in integer)
return varchar2
is
l_emp_pin varchar2(2000);
begin
select emp_pin
into l_emp_pin
where session_id = p_sess_id;
return l_emp_pin;
end;
Now, these functions can be used in SQL query of your reports as :-
select <col1>, <col2>, <col3>
from <table>
where empno = get_empno(<portal_schema>.wwctx_api.get_sessionid)
and emp_pin = get_emp_pin(<portal_schema>.wwctx_api.get_sessionid)
and ....
In a form, you can use these functions to set the default values of the empno,
emp_pin fields.
