Refund of SUI taxes

Hi Friends,
We are not set up to pay SUI EE taxes but we only calculate SUI wages. By mistake our user kept SUI record on IT0235 California active and system calculated SUI  taxes from employees pay check.
Now we corrected master data with correct entry and recalculated. But system is not refunding SUI taxes withheld from previous pay period to employees.
Are there any settings or config we have to do to activate SUI refund?
Thanks in advance.
Mayuresh

Hello Mayuresh,
I am kinda confused with your question. You said /410 is generated. FYI, /410 is TX ER Unemployment Tax wage type. Why do you want to refund this to EE? Did you see /420 in April payroll?
I would like you to check below.
1. Run re-calculated payroll and make sure that in April payroll there is no /410 generated which makes sure the TCRT is being removed for /410.
2. Did you map the wage type for Postings or Third party remittance? If yes, please check the postings after running payroll. I am sure system will do negative offset in current period postings for /410.

  • US - SUI tax calculation

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to configure state unemployment insurance (SUI)
SUI is not getting calculated as per the rate maintained in the table V_T5UTX.
There is no override in BSI as well as in SAP table(V_BTXRATE).
for eg . OH  in table  V_T5UTX it is .031.
and no override data in BSI as well as in SAP table(V_BTXRATE).
but it is not calculating as per this rate. and it is very first payroll in 2011.
What could be the missing step?
    All answers are appreciable,
    Thanks,
    vinoli

    Hi Giselle,
Formula number in IT210 is 01. also in the log also formula for taxtype 10 is 01. hence that is matching. still it is not calculating properly.
    Howard,
Tax model is correct and processing class 71 too. still not calculating.
    please suggest some more steps

  • Billing issue: No one in the overseas call center understands state tax-exempt license numbers, but we need a refund of sales tax

I've just purchased a year's license to Creative Cloud on my unit's tax-exempt purchasing card, but the tax was assessed anyway. Several calls to the help desk revealed that no one has been trained in U.S. state sales-tax exempt organizations, and so I have no way of trying to get this charge backed out - which will result in a big accounting headache.
Is there anyone out there who may be able to help? Unfortunately there seems to be no way to escape being connected to the overseas call center, where managers aren't really able to provide any assistance either.

I will make a complaint to the better business bureau. I'm out $48 (because I gave it to my brother- we are both college students paying our way through school- except I'm in my 30's and also paying bills). It isn't a lot of money but its a spit in the eyes from Verizon. 15 year customer- so what- spit in the eyes. Sells Verizon phones at her job everyday when she's not working really hard in school- so what- spit in the eyes. I'm also forwarding all of this to our district Verizon rep- see what she says.

  • Sales Tax Refund and Please Stop Charging Me?

    Hi,
I've tried contacting Adobe about this before but was fobbed off with "Database is 'Down'''.
Basically I'm a Canadian client, in Canada paying with a Canadian Company credit card.
I've noticed that when Adobe bills me I'm also being charged a US sales tax which should not be applicable
to an international customer like myself. The Adobe division that bills me is in the US with a US address.
    I have two questions:
1 - How do I get you to stop charging me the US taxes going forward?
2 - How do I get a refund on the taxes I should not have paid?
    Thanks in advance.
    Gavin

I have send you an  E-mail, please respond to it. The account that you have is not tax exempted, you shall have to provide the Tax exempt certificate to get t ax exempt.

  • Overcharged Taxes for Two Years.

I moved from NY to NC in Sept. of 2009 and have been charged NY sales tax (much much higher) on my two sub-lines.
I changed my address when I moved. Tricky part is that my main line reflects NC taxes and I don't look at all the billing details for the sub-lines. I have paid about $100, respectively, to Verizon for NY for no reason.
They are willing to give me back three months difference. It takes two billing cycles to update the tax info. Seriously? Unless my job is to call and say, hey not only did I change my address, but I'm going to request you change my taxes for ALL lines at the same time.
The phones are used from NC. Not to mention that I one time had a line for Internet, so I'm sure the overcharged tax amount is much higher than I'm estimating.
So, if any Verizon employee reads this, how can I get my money back? This isn't my fault and I want to fight it. NY even refunds over paid taxes. I feel like I've been ripped off.

  • Tax code in UB document type

There is a need to enable Taxcode in the stock transport order (Document type UB).
Enabled the taxcode for the document type UB.
Do any one explain how to make it work to hit tax postings.

    Hello Muthu,
Please, kindly refer to the information contained under the attached
note 518368 (FAQ: Valuation for the purchase order).
In the answer to the question number 8 the following data is stated:
    "8. Question:
How I can create tax postings while posting a goods receipt? What do
I have to bear in mind during a stock transport order with regard to
    the taxes?
    Answer:
During the goods receipt for a purchase order of an external
supplier the system does not post any taxes. The tax processing in
the procurement occurs via the logistics invoice verification.
Notes on this topic: 113901, 385127.
Concerning the stock transport order you must refer to Note 506588."
With this, we mean that we do not generate in the accounting document
coming from the goods receipt any line related to the taxes.
Now, the also attached note 501054 states in Question 3 "How is the tax
    amount calculated?":
    "Answer:
Only the non-deductible part of the tax is calculated. This amount is
to be regarded as additional cost item of the procurement as it is not
refunded by the tax authorities in contrast to the deductible part of
the tax. The non-deductible part of the tax is therefore added to the
stock value during stock posting. In the purchase order item, the
non-deductible tax amount is saved in field EKPO-NAVNW (...)"
Therefore, please, check the value of EKPO-NAVNW for your purchase
order. If this field is completed with a value, the goods receipt will
be posted with a value which will include this amount (but the system
will never generate a separated line for this tax posting).
    hope this helps,
    Ray

  • State Unemployment Insurance tax?

    Hi
What is the Contribution Rate towards State Unemployment Insurance tax in US-Payroll .i.e is Tax type 7?      Is it 6.8%?       If it is 6.8% then the total 6.8% is contributed by Employee alone or both Employee and Employer ?  Then what is the difference between tax type 7, Tax type 10(Employer Unemployment tax) and tax type 20(Employee Unemployment tax)? What is the relationship between Tax type 7, 10, 20 and IT 0209?
    Regards
    Rakesh

    Hi Rakesh,
Every state have different SUI tax rates and their SUI tax base wages for year 2014. Check the APA site for the latest tax rate and tax wage bases. Like for Indiana the SUI tax rate is from .5% to 9.4% and for year 2014 the tax base is $9500. Check this link
    http://www.americanpayroll.org/members/stateui/state-ui-2/
Now it depends on States if they want employers to file SUI, if yes then tax type 07(State) i.e. (SUTA) and tax type 10 (Fed) is being configured and if not then only tax type 10 is configured to calculate the federal unemployment i.e. (FUTA). Now these are Employer liabilities and cannot deduct it from employees paycheck but in some states like AL, NJ and PA require employers to take unemployment tax deductions from employees. and in that case tax type 20 and tax type 10 is required.
IT0209 - you need to configure all the work-sites in respect to calculate unemployment tax.
Hope this information helps a bit.
    Thx,
    Ashish

  • Ongoing problems - Would like to request a call back

    Hi all,
I have quite a tale to tell you, and am reaching out for assistance by somebody that has authority to make decisions   Once my account and case ID have been reviewed I would like a call back at the number on file. Thank you!
    1/11
I ordered an Open Box NS-50D550N and specifically chose to pay a bit extra for the "Certified - Excellent" version of the product. It was my understanding this means a Geek Squad member has reviewed the TV, ensured everything works, and ensured all accessories are included in the box per this page: http://www.geeksquad.com/certified-openbox.aspx.  Very excited for a big screen TV!
    1/13
I received the TV and unfortunately no screws were included for the stand, no screws were included for wall hanging (New version of this product includes them), and there was a big puncture hole that went through both boxes, through the packing foam, and hit the screen. I called the 888 number and was told by a representative that "Unfortunately open box items are sold as open box due to the fact that they may be missing parts and accessories". When I pointed out that the item I purchased was "Certified - Excellent" and that I purposely chose this version because I wanted to avoid these problems, I was told the only thing I could do was return the TV for a refund.
That would have been fine if I didn't want this TV, but I did and unfortunately there were no other open box versions of this TV available. I was basically being told "tough luck there's nothing we can do but give you your money back". When I pointed out that I wanted a TV, not my money back, and that surely there's something they can do I felt like I was continuing to hit a brick wall. "No there's nothing we can do".
I then noticed that this TV was on sale "new" for $399. I pointed this out and said could I get a credit for the difference since I did not receive a "certified excellent" version of this TV (it did include the "certified" tape all over the box though!). I was told to hold on, then when they came back they said they issued me a $30 gift card.
"Great!" I thought. But, unfortunately this card has to come in the mail, I could not get the number over the phone or be issued an e-gift card, so I could not use it to immediately discount the cost of a new TV. Sort of worthless as I would miss the sale! When I pointed this out I was again told there was nothing they could do.
I was getting ticked off at this point because I felt like I am really trying to give Best Buy my money and they just don't want to work with me at all! I asked to speak to a supervisor. "Emily the supervisor" came on the line. I explained my situation and she seemed to understand! I felt like I was getting somewhere finally! She said she would issue an immediate $32 credit to my credit card in order to offset the cost of the Open Box I purchased ($367) with a new version of this TV ($399). I could then return the Open Box for a full refund and enjoy my new TV at the cost of the "Geek Squad Certified Open Box" I was supposed to have gotten.
Awesome! I was overjoyed with the news and thanked her for the support. I told her I wanted UPS to pick it up as we live a bit far from a store and it would just be more convenient. She told me that would be no problem, that she issued a refund and to wait 24 hours for my paperwork to come in my email.
1 hour and 15 minutes on the phone with 1-888-BEST-BUY
    1/14
UPS shows up with the label. Unfortunately I had not received any RMA information in my email though. I called the 888 number again and I was told to not give the TV to UPS until I receive my RMA information in my email. Day after that (1/15) - UPS shows up, no RMA info in my email. Called again and told to not give it to them.
In the mean time I had ordered my new TV for local pickup the night I spoke with emily (1/13) and had my wife swing by and get the box. I get home and unfortunately she didn't notice the huge puncture mark on the front of the box. I packed the TV back up and took it back to the store to swap it out with one that wasn't skewered by a fork lift. Got that guy back home and decided I would set him up tomorrow.
22 minutes on the phone with 1-888-BEST-BUY
    1/15
I give the 888 number a call again and tell them I still have not received any RMA information but that UPS continues to try to pick the TV up and bring their own tag. The representative tells me I might have better luck just taking the TV back to the store to return it there.
So, I decide to do that. First though, let's check out my new TV! I get it out of the box, plug it in, and the screen is completely shatered. Frustration!!! I pack my 2nd new TV up and the Open Box up and take it to the store that night. I wait in line, talk to the rep at customer service and tell her I need to return this open box and swap out this new TV for a third new TV.
The TV manager wants to see the screens for both before processing the return and exchange. I tell him that's fine no big deal. They pull the open box TV out and plug it in, and much to my surprise that screen is shattered too, exactly where the hole was in the box! So not only was my "Certified - Excellent" TV missing parts, but was also broken. Ugh!  He plugs my 2nd new TV in and also verifies that screen was shattered.
The customer service rep starts with the return for the Open Box. Types in the order information, and the system wants to give me a refund for $367, the cost of my open box, minus the $32 I was already credited. I explain to her that "Emily the supervisor" credited me an extra $32 to make up for the price difference between the open box and the new TV. She goes and gets the manager, and he explains to me that the system will not allow him to give me the full refund and I need to contact the 888 number to get it straightened out. More frustration!!!
I call up the 888 number, talk to several people, and finally land with a supervisor in the Home Theatre department. She explains to me that what Emily told me is wrong, she had no authority to do that, it was impossible for me to get an extra $32 on my credit card, and a refund for the price of the open box minus the $32 was the best they could do in her department. She then tells me I need to discuss this further with the "back office" department and sends me back there.
I speak with that representative, and she tells me I need to send it back to bestbuy.com through UPS. I explain to her the problems I have been having with receiving the RMA information in my email. She tells me (paraphrased) "Oh no! When you have UPS pick up you won't get an extra emails from us They bring the tag and thats all you need!"   ........
3 days of phone calls, several different reps, and she's the first one to tell me I won't be getting an extra email. Extreme frustration!!!!
I then explain to her the issues with the extra $32 credit. She looks and tells me as best as she can tell if I return the TV to them I will get my full refund for $367 + tax and be allowed to keep my extra $32 credit. I tell her great, lets get this return going and she tells me UPS will be out to my house tomorrow (1/16).
I then get my third new TV and the open box back on the dolly and back in my car.
1 hour and 20 minutes on the phone with 1-888-BEST-BUY.   2 and a half hours in the store.
    1/16
I've plugged my new TV in today and everything looks great finally! My concern is, at this point, I have no idea what I am getting back on my card when you guys finally receive my open box TV. I can tell you I want what was promised to me though, a full refund plus I be allowed to keep the $32 already credited back.
If this is not standard procedure, I feel like the ~3 hours I have spent talking to customer service reps, plus the 2.5 hours I spent in the store last night, and the 4 TV's I have hauled around the house and the car allows me to expect the $32.
It's more the principle of the matter at this point.
    Thanks for reading!

  • Purchased Music Download... Frozen for over 12 hours!

    Album: Pinoy Ako
    Songs: 14
    Price: $9.99
11:50PM - Purchased 2 Singles and Album with iTMS $15 card. Balance is now $0.90
11:52PM - The 2 singles and 4 (out of 14) album songs downloaded. Downloading is frozen. I rebooted the computer, many times. Same result!
iTunes displays, "Downloading 1 of 10 Laklak". Bar stopped at approximately 40%. Laklak is a 3 minute 9 second song! The bar does not move and no more songs are downloading.
At around 2:30AM, I sent my FIRST E-Mail message to iTMS customer support, and got rewarded with an auto-reply letter. No human response!
At around 7:30AM, I sent my SECOND E-Mail message to iTMS customer support, and got rewarded my second auto-reply letter. This time, I've asked for a refund... For 4 out of 14 songs purchased for $9.99+tax, I should be refunded $2.85+tax. Still no human response! I turned off the computer at 7:45AM.
At 11:45AM, Seattle Local Time, I turned on the computer, and started up iTunes. Sure enough, iTunes offered to look for Purchased music, and surprise: "Downloading 1 of 10 Laklak" Downloading Bar permanently frozen at approximately 40%. The bar stops below the letter "w" in "Downloading".
Balance is $0.90... $7.14 LOSS and NO Human Response from Apple!
This album is on my dad's account. He is 70 Years Old, so I am configuring his iPod Shuffle. Unfortunately, iTunes Music Store gives a BAD impression to my 70 Year Old Father.
I have written Apple, demanding the refund... Also, I have stated that I will NOT make any further purchases in iTMS unless I get a refund. I have purchased videos such as Law & Order SVU, Conviction, Blade, A-Team, and Knight Rider. I guess I paid Apple too much money to fill up my 30GB Video iPod.
My Dad's computer is a Intel Mac Mini (Single Core) with iPod Shuffle.
My computer is an iBook G4 with 30GB Video iPod.
My internet connection is 5Mbps DSL. (A 3-minute song in iTMS should not take 12 hours to download!)
Does anyone have a phone number to iTunes Music Store? Sending E-Mail to their customer support is wasting my time. (Allocated 2 hours, not 14 hours!) I plan to Snapshot the screen and post it on my .Mac web page, or better yet, make a podcast of the Frozen Download... Somebody in Apple must know that this was my 1st Album purchase and that I will start advertising Album downloading feature of iTunes is not stable. In fact, once a download is frozen, no other "Protected" downloads can happen.
iTMS should charge ONLY when 100% of the music was successfully downloaded, not before. Can't buy anything for $0.90! Over the past 12 hours, I paid $2.01 for each of the 7 songs I have downloaded and they are NOT videos!
Last time I had a frozen download was in April 2006... That only lasted about two (2) hours. And Apple responded to E-Mail within 30 minutes.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get a refund from Apple?
iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   AMD Sempron Laptop (SUSE Linux 10), Dell Inspron Laptop (Ubuntu Linux), Nokia 770

    There is no phone number for the iTunes Music Store;
the web form is the only contact. Give them a bit of
time; you just contacted them late last night, and it
often takes them 72 hours to respond. And their first
response (once you get through the automated replies
is very unlikely to be a refund; more likely they'll
offer suggestions as to how to get the downloads to
    work.
On that subject, here are a couple of things for you
    to check:
    - make sure that your father's system has the latest
    version of QuickTime and iTunes;
    - check to see if your father's system has any sort
of download/web accelerator. Those almost always
cause problems with the iTunes Music Store.
and of course check with his Internet service
provider to make sure they're not having router
problem, as has sometimes been the case (one recent
one in, I believe, Canada caused all sorts of problem
for iTMS users and it wasn't Apple's fault at all).
Good luck getting it all sorted out.
My Dad's Computer: intel Mac Mini (Single Core)
Before starting up iTunes on my dad's computer, I had to remove his expired .Mac account and perform a software upgrade to 10.4.7. The computer had all the software updates performed by 11pm Tuesday night. His account is a regular account and my account on the computer is an Admin account.
iTunes 6.0.5 (20) on the Intel Mac Mini. Software Update says there are no more software updates.
My dad's iTMS account is a different account from what I am using. I use my iBook G4 right next to my dad's Mac Mini. Both computers are running iTunes. Both computer have fast connections through 5Mbps DSL.
On my dad's computer, I have the Apple firewall disabled and the DSL router configured as DMZ to that computer. iTMS fails to download everything that was purchased.
Considering that the firewalls are not the problem, I restored the firewalls.
On my iBook G4, my iTunes work fine, I can download the Free stuff from iTMS. I will not make a purchase until my Dad's iTMS account gets all the songs.
On the Mac Mini, another song downloaded after restarting iTunes three more times.
I think there is a BUG within iTunes... It does NOT timeout and does NOT display any errors. Also, there is NO way to skip a song and have it download later. The downloading sequence is permanent, set by the billing computer.
The downloads stop at the same point, the bar stops just below the "w" in "Downloading".
I wont have my dad's computer for too much longer... If I don't get any resolutions BEFORE my dad gets his computer back, I will just DISABLE iTMS on his iTunes, because this Apple problems are too much for a 70 year old man to deal with. I will teach him how to rip CD music into iTunes and have him put the music onto his iPod Shuffle.
In the Business World, TIME is precious... 72 hours can make or break a deal. In this matter, the Lack of Customer Support in a timely fashion can mean the Loss of another Customer. --- Maybe, by the time Apple does respond, I will answer them, "I fixed the problem and stopped using iTunes Music Store. We are now getting music by ripping audio CDs."

  • Scammers using my Skype In Number

For the past few weeks, I have had voice messages left on my Skype In number related to people asking for refunds from a tax department.
It seems that the scammers will call these people, and when they ask questions and want a number to return the call, the scammers will leave my Skype Number as their contact details.  So, lots of calls from dear old people expecting me to help them get a refund.
I have cancelled my subscription for this number, however the number is still active until the next bill cycle in January.
How can I inactivate this to where the phone number is no longer valid?
    Thanks

  • VAT wrongly charged for CC yearly subscription - Adobe support very mediocre

I wanted to share my bad experience with Adobe's customer support. I got a CC 1 year subscription with a monthly payment plan at £38.11 + £8.77 tax = £46.88. I'm VAT registered in the UK and all this time Adobe has charged me Irish VAT (23%). Now according to Adobe, there's an option on the subscription page where you inform them of your VAT information. If there was one, then it wasn't very obvious. I created a support ticket for this and the response I got was:
'This email is regarding your request for VAT ID updation issue. Lino, we are sorry for the additional time consumed in resolving this issue and we appreciate your support and patience in this regard. We had like to inform, your VAT ID (GB157359873) has been updated under your Adobe account and you will no more be charged VAT. However, we cannot issue refund for previous transactions as VAT ID was not updated previously. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause and look forward to serve you..'
I would understand if I was on a month to month membership but I was on a yearly contract.
Now had they charged me a whole year in advance £562.50 inc.Tax. It would mean I wouldn't have been able to claim back the tax even after informing them half way into the membership. This is unacceptable, I believe that like with any tax exempt product/services, they should be able to refund past overpaid tax for the year membership. Failing to do that, they can offer a free membership period equivalent to tax amount due.
This experience has just shown me how Adobe's service is very lacklustre and they are unable to cater an international membership service. They should just go back selling software per application, end of story. They are unable to cope with the various International tax trade issues.
Conclusion: I'm cancelling my membership for a minimum of 3 months and going to find an alternative solution. Thank you very much Adobe.
Has anyone had a similar experience?

  • Element Creation for STD Sick Pay

I am looking for information pertaining to the element set up requirements (including balance feeds) for the use with STD Sick Pay.
All our STD sick pay payments are made by a contracted insurance company. The insurance company withholds only EE FICA taxes, which in turn are reported and remitted to the IRS.
Our requirement is to record these payments on the employee's payroll record, report and remit the matching ER FICA, FUTA and SUI taxes. In addition, we are to include these payments in the year-end W-2 information.
How have other Oracle users set up element(s) to accomodate the requirements of such reporting?

First off you are not talking to Apple here only other users, so no one here can give you a refund.
Second tax has always been charged by the Apple Store, see this from http://store.apple.com/us/help/payments
    Tax rate
In accordance with state and local law, your Apple Online Store purchases will be taxed using the applicable sales tax or seller's use tax rate for your shipping address, or the Apple Store address where the item is picked up.
The tax listed during checkout is only an estimate. In California and Rhode Island, sales tax is collected on the unbundled price of the iPhone.
Your invoice will reflect the final total tax, which includes state and local taxes, as well as any applicable rebates or fees.
There are a lot of reasons why there could be a change in tax applied to your order. The most likely one is a change in the tax rate/application in your state or local area.

    Dear Oracle US Payroll Customer:
We would like to make you aware of an issue impacting both 11i and R12

customer with employees in the state of Pennsylvania.
The Pennsylvania State Unemployment Insurance Employee tax rate change
from .09% to .06%, effective January 1st 2008, was not delivered as part
of the End of Year 2007 Phase 2 or Year Begin 2008 patches. This was
logged as bug 6709740 - INCORRECT PENNSYLVANIA EMPLOYEE SUI TAX FOR 2008
DEDUCTED AS .09% SHOULD BE .06%. Both the PA SUI Employee and Employer
rates need to be updated to reflect the new 2008 rates.

is scheduled to be released on January 15th (please note this date could

At OpenWorld, the developers said that XML Checkwriter and Deposit Advice would be available in version 12.6. I don't recall the expected date of release.

  • State Unemployment rates

    Hello
What are the repercussions if I change SUI effective 04/01/2013. Will the system self adjust retroactively??
    Thanks

    Hi P K,
Yes SUI taxes are self adjusting taxes in USA so if you change them in past then they will self adjust in current payroll run.
BSI internally runs calculation calls to read quarterly and annual taxable wages and applies applicable tax rates on it so if there are any differences in SUI taxes then it gets auto self adjusted in current payroll run.
Feature 10STT has list of tax types with return value as X under it that will self adjust in SAP.
    Hope this information helps.
    Thanks,
    Ameet
