Refund on Canceled Order

Recently I ordered a $423 order from Best Buy, but there was a payment issue.  I went into my local store to figure it out and ended up canceling my online order and purchasing the item in-store.  Right now, my purchase in-store was taken out of my bank account, but my previous order cost is also still pending in my account.  Since the order was canceled, but the payment is still pending will it be put straight back into my account when it finishes pending or will it be taken out and sent to me in a check like it says in the refund policy?  The debit card I used is a Visa, but since it is from my local credit union that I am a member of I wasn't sure if the money will be put back into my account or sent as a check?  Also, do I have to wait until the date is passed on the pending payment for it to be refunded into my account/mailed?

Placing an order online should be a quick and easy process, so it's disheartening to hear you encountered difficulties with your recent purchase. I was glad to read though that the staff at your local store was able to help you find a solution by placing another order.
Whenever a BestBuy.com order is cancelled or returned, we automatically refund the original form of payment. Since you paid for your initial order by debit card, that same card should have been credited immediately upon order cancellation. Just keep in mind that the funds may not post back to your account for several business days -- the exact timeframe required varies by card issuer.
If you don't see record of those funds in the next 5-7 business days, I'd encourage you to contact the customer service hotline listed on the back of your card or on your monthly statement. I have confidence that an account specialist will be able to answer any questions you may have about any pending transactions, as well as provide an overview of that company's processing times.

    Is it a book that you've bought or is it only a pre-order ? If pre-ordered then you can cancel the pre-order : iTunes Store: About pre-orders (you aren't charged for pre-orders until they are released, so there shouldn't be anything to refund)

  • Apple Cancelled Order - But no refund?

    Hi,
    I am from Maldives. I wanted to buy an iPhone 6 but since the price here is around $300 higher than Apple store, I decided to buy from the online US Apple store, send the package to a freight forwarder and ship it to Maldives. However, I later came to know this is against the policy of Apple. My order was cancelled.
    My Order Number: ******** | Ordered on Dec 21, 2014
    Then got a the mail saying,
    "Thank you for your recent order with the Apple Online Store. We appreciate your business.
    We are unable to complete your order. We do not ship to freight forwarder addresses. Therefore your order has been cancelled. While you may see a pending authorization on your account, you will not be charged and that pending authorization will drop off in accordance with your banks policies. Please contact your bank for an exact timeframe."
    My problem is, since to this day, January 6, 2015, I still haven't received my refund. I have called to the bank (Bank Of Maldives). They have confirmed that it takes 10 working days to receive the refund if the order is cancelled but they have not received the refund.
    Since I do not live in US, I haven't found a way to directly contact Apple. Any help?

    Have you checked with your bank whether the payment was actually taken? What Apple have said is that you will see a 'pending authorization'- this is in effect a pre-notification of a charge, but the charge itself should not be taken. So you need first to confirm whether the charge was actually taken. If it was taken in error you should first notify your bank. Then this page may help: Order Status

    Hello,
    I ancelled an order for some issue and placed a new order in its place. The cancelled order number is {edited for privacy}. I am yet to receive the security deposit against this order and it has been more than a month. I called support number multiple times but am not getting a proper response.
    Does anyone know what should I do?

    "This issue is only related to our Apple ID and to to those specific apps which we already have on phone or had installed on phone before except for those apps which we already have in purchase history AppStore>Updates>Purchase History(having cloud icon next to them) it's something related to our purchase data
    *ITS NOT RELATED TO PHONE!
    *RESETTING OR UPDATING THE DEVICE WONT MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
       (As in my case it  was on iPhone 4 7.1.1 iPhone 5s 7.0.3 and iTunes of course )
    Here is how I got it fixed
    I contacted apple support via chat method and I  asked about a solution giving my info.she told me that she submitted my application and in order to resolve this I should not be using my AppStore ID for any purchase for at least 30mins as  doing so may not resolve the issue so I checked it after couple hours and it's fixed
    (As I read in some other discussions that some people asked for solution from apple support and they told them to reset the device or so.. You may need to make your statement clear that it's appearing both on iTunes and iPhone )

  • No Refund on Cancelled Items

    Hello,
    Last night I cancelled two orders I had made previously online at BestBuy, one copy of Yoshi's Wooly World {removed per forum guidelines}, and one copy of Mario Party 10 {removed per forum guidelines} both for the Wii U, with the reason for cancellation being that I was unable to change the shipping address. I then reordered these items along with a couple others afterwards {removed per forum guidelines} with the corrected shipping addresses.
    The problem is that I have yet to receive a refund for my two cancelled items to my bank account. Usually there would at least be a notification in my statement saying that a credit from BestBuy is pending, but at this time there aren't any notifications. I did receive automated emails from BestBuy saying that my order was cancelled and my funds credited, but that's not true so far. I've checked the cancelled order's details, and it has the correct card information.

    I’m sorry to hear about the troubles that you are having with these orders and not seeing a refund from them being cancelled.  I’d be glad to help out if I can with this.
    Typically, your payment card is not charged unless the items are actually shipped or been marked as available for pickup at a store location.  However, we do process authorizations on each order to make sure that the funds are available for when the orders are ready to go.  In that situation, if your orders were cancelled, the authorizations would drop off your bank account usually in about 3-5 business days. 
    I was not able to locate any recently cancelled orders using the email address you registered on the forums, so if you still need additional assistance, I would need you to send me a private message with your full name, email address and the BestBuy.com order numbers starting with BBY01 for the cancelled orders.

    Try each of these in order until one works:
    Open App Store and click on your Purchases tab. If you're prompted to accept them, then do so.
    Put the old ones into the Trash, temporarily. Open App Store and see if you can download them for free from their individual product pages. If asked to buy them, see the next option.
    Click here, contact Apple, and wait for a response.
    You will have to purchase them using your Apple ID.

  • Ebay canceled orders issues

    This has happened twice now in the last 6 months.  When I cancel an Ebay order and PayPal refunds the buyer, PayPal goes straight to my bank account and leaves my PayPal balance untouched.  Has anyone else experienced this? Why does PayPal do this? Is there a setting I need to change to avoid this in the future?  The first time, it cost me $66 in overdrafts.  I contacted PayPal when it happened (a Friday afternoon, of course) and they told me just to transfer my balance to my bank account.  I should have known that wouldn't work, since those transfers always take at least three days, and by then I'd racked up more NSF fees.  I then contacted PayPal via e-mail or a form on their website, and the only responses I got were a couple "message received" confirmations and, get this, a "rate your recent experience" survey.  Bottom line, the bank wouldn't dismiss the fees because they weren't at fault, and PayPal won't reimburse me because they didn't charge/collect the fees.

  • Can't update iPhoto: message says it was "bought by a different user or refunded or cancelled." None of that is true. Can't buy it, either.

    I've been trying to update my iPhoto because my old version (9.3.2) no longer works now that I've updated my OS to Mavericks (10.9.2). When I try to update, I get the message that I can't because iPhoto was purchase by some other user or was refunded or cancelled. I don't know how this could be--this was a new computer that I got through work that came loaded with iPhoto already. I figured that I would just buy iPhoto again and load it up, but the Apple Store will only show me the option to UPDATE and not BUY, so I am stuck in this loop.

    You must log in using the Apple ID that was used to set up the compter (or purchase the application if it was purchased later)

    If you are logged in with the Apple ID that was used to purchase iPhoto or to set up the computer if it came preinstalled then quit iPhoto, backup your iPhoto library  and drag the iphoto application to the trash (do not empty the trash yet) and then go to the App store and install iPhoto
    If that does not resolve contact App store support - link is on the right of the App store window
