Reg: Functionality of non standard screen

Hi
My client wants to enter serial number of final product and its sub assembly parts in a separate development T-code (Z or Y t-code). This is will be done after inspection by quality person.
For developing the screen, what are the things i need to give for ABABer. I mean functionality requirement.
Please advice..
Janardhanan

I run 1680x1050 through DVI with no problems.  I used to have to specify a modeline, but that was always tricky...some worked, some didn't, and I never knew which one was the "correct" mode.  Anyway, with the newer releases of Xorg (probably around 5-6 months ago), I don't have to specify a modeline at all.
As Shaika-Dzari mentioned, you do have to specify the proper horizontal sync and vertical refresh though.  For an example, here is the relevant portion of my <code>xorg.conf</code> file (and my graphics card stuff too, for clarification):

  • IMac has redraw problems & hangs on wake, if set to non-standard screen res

I've run into an odd problem/bug that I have not seen described anywhere else, and wondered if anyone had any insight advice. It seems to me that there may be a bug in the driver for the GT130 graphics card in the new iMacs.
This is on a brand new 2009 24" iMac that has been upgraded, via build-to-order to a GT130 graphics card.
If I set the screen resolution to something other than the default 1920x1200 (for example, 1600x1000), then put the machine to sleep, then, upon waking, the system displays redraw glitches and then becomes completely non-responsive, requiring the machine to be powered down.
Specifically, when the machine wakes, the mouse moves initially, but the system doesn't respond, things redraw in the wrong place (parts of menus and windows), the screen sometimes flickers for a few seconds, and then the mouse changes to the spinning beach ball and just stays there.
I've checked disk permissions, reset PRAM, and reset the PMU, but nothing helped. I've only tried this on this one machine, which, as I said, has a GT130 graphics card.
Everything works fine if the machine is at standard resolution (1920x1200), but this problem happen s if it's been set to other resolutions.
    Thanks

  • How to create Object Links For non standard SAP Objects?

    Hi all,
I need to create an object link in cvo1n for a non standard SAP object (inspection characteristics) . we have two ways to do this
    1. Create a screen for the rquirement by taking the standard screens as reference.
    2. Implement badi document_obj.
I need a step by step process to perform both the steps. Sample codes will be helpful.
One more thing is that i need a link in the standard screens of inspection characteristics also. How to get a two way link both in cv01n and in the standard inspection char screen.

    hi
Customizing for the Do cument Management , you must maintain the key fields for the SAP objects that you want to link to document info records, by choosing Control Data ® Maintain key fields.
    Process
Program two screens for the following module pools for the SAP object that is to be linked additionally:
    u2013 SAPLCV00
    u2013 SAPLCVIN
The process logic must be according to that of screen 0204 in program SAPLCV00 and must not be changed.
Create the function module OBJECT_CHECK_XXXX (XXXX = name of the SAP object).
If this object can be classified, this function module already exists in the standard system. Otherwise, copy the existing function module OBJECT_CHECK_EQUI (linking of equipment) and change it to suit the new object.
also you can attach the document to PRT also. but it will not show you in dms. This type of attachment is only from otherside.

  • Help with custom page size support for non standard paper

Firstly, we appreciate any support you may be able to provide, we have already thrown considerable effort at this and it has been very time consuming and frustrating.
To support a number of business functions need to print to (non standard) continuous and mulitpart paper on a dot matrix printer. The (test) Mac is a 10.4.11 G4 laptop, the printer is an Oki Microline 520 (9 pin 80 column, IBM Proprinter, Microline or Epson FX personalities with a parallel interface) which has been networked via a HP JetDirext Ex Plus print server. That part appears to be operating correctly.
We have tried a number of drivers / printer personalities with varying levels of success:
ESP / EPSON 9-Pin Series CUPS v1.1 / Epson FX personality
ESP / OKIDATA 9-Pin Series CUPS v1.1 / Oki Microline personality
Ghostscript / epsonc / Epson Dot Matrix Foomatic PPD / Epson FX personality
Ghostscript / ibmpro / IBM ProPrinterII Foomatic PPD / IBM Proprinter personality
Ghostscript / okiibm / Oki Microline IBM compatible 9 pin Foomatic PPD / IBM Proprinter personality
There were no appropriate drivers in Gutenprint (5.2.3 version) The most successful is the okiibm / Oki Microline IBM compatible 9 pin settings, it can print A4 and honors the Printer Features Resolution settings in the print dialogue.
Q1: Should we see anything in the Printer Info / Installable Option, it is always blank ?
The issue is custom page sizes, we can manage / add Custom Pages Sizes via the Page Setup / Paper Size interface and they draw on the screen OK but they do not work at the printer (various issue at the printer such error messages, junk printing and wrong orientation):
Q2: Are we heading in the right direction or is there a better way to handle this ?
Q3: Would 10.5 solve all our problems, are the print drivers any better ?
Q4: Is this the correct way to specify custom page sizes, is this all we need to do ?
Q5: Is so how do we get the driver to respect the size, do we need another filter or something ?
Q6: Is it possible to add (by hand) custom page sizes to the ESP drivers or Foomatic PPD files so they they appear as a "standard" offering in the Page Setup / Paper Size interface ?
Sorry for the long / complicated post and thanks in advance for any advice / assistance.

    Matt Broughton wrote:
Testing on 10.5.7, Tried both Oki 9-Pin Series 1.3 / Microline personality (no joy) and Epson 9-Pin Series 1.3 (this is a much better driver than 1.1) / Epson FX personality but not much joy with custom page sizes,
The Oki 9-pin Series 1.3 and the Epson 9-Pin Series 1.3 should produce the same results. The only difference in the PPDs is the printer model name.
After some testing, I find that the output is not the same despite the two PPDs being virtually identical. I did spot in the CUPS source code for the rastertoepson filter that there is some model name matching for Epson printers. Thus I can see where the output using the Oki 9-pin PPD could be different than when using the Epson 9-pin PPD.
but again once I imbedded the page size into the ppd some (but frustrating) luck. I can get it to respect the paper orientation and it prints well but I could not get the form length to work properly. At best over a print run of 7 labels it would creep up the label by about 0.1 inches / 2 mm.
Just for the fun of it, I made some additions to the Epson 9-pin 1.3 PPD. All I can say is that I could print a job to file. I have no way to know what it would look like on paper.
I did find that using a custom paper size did add some unwanted margins to the output bounding box. Putting the custom page size into the PPD seemed to get around that issue.
I added the following lines to the Epson 9-pin PPD 1.3--
    <pre style="overflow: auto;font-size:small; font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; color: #222; background: #ddd; padding: .3em .8em .3em .8em; font-size: 9px;">*PageSize Label1/Label1: "<</PageSize[288 107.8]/ImagingBBox null>>setpagedevice"
    *PageRegion Label1/Label1: "<<PageSize[288 107.8]/ImagingBBox null>>setpagedevice"
    *ImageableArea Label1/Label1: "0 0 288.00 107.80"
    *PaperDimension Label1/Label1: "288.00 107.80"</pre>
This adds a paper size with the 4 inch (288pt) width and 1.5 inch (107.8pt) height. That represents the 1.4 inch label and the 0.1 inch gap between labels. I set 0pt margins except for the bottom where is set the 0.1 inch (7pt) gap as the bottom margin.
The full diff in context is--
    <pre style="overflow: auto;font-size:small; font-family: Monaco, 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; color: #222; background: #ddd; padding: .3em .8em .3em .8em; font-size: 9px;">loki:~ matt$ diff -u /usr/share/cups/model/epson9.ppd ~/Desktop/epson9.ppd

I have tried customer-exits ..<b>There exists none</b> satisfying this req. Could anyone pls tell how I can go about this now?
I believe , one way is to create a search help attaching to the screen-field . Can anyone help what is the process ? Has anyone done this earlier -<b>attaching search help to standard screen</b>

    Regards,

    Hi Shweta,
    Check this matter.
    There are 3 ways:
1)In the PAI of the screen, add a module Process on value request. For example:
    PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
    MODULE USER_COMMAND_100.
    PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST.
    FIELD field_name MODULE value_request_for_field_name.
*field_name is the field for which you require search help.
In the Module value_request_for_field_name call this function 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'.
2)The above procedure can be used if the field you have defined doesnt have an existing search help.If it already has search help and the field in the screen is taken from the dictionary, then in the attributes,u can check from from dictionary under the dictionary tab.
3)A manual search help can also be created in the se11 transaction by clicking on the search help radio button and giving the table and field name for which search help is required.
    Hope this resolves your query.

  • Why do CS4 & CS5 use a non-standard Windows GUI skin?

This has bugged me ever since I used CS4.
I have used Photoshop on a netbook, and it's really difficult to because even while maximized, the window maintains a window border. This might not seem big but on a small netbook display every pixel counts. Furthermore, if Adobe gave us an option to turn off the skin and use a standard Windows GUI customization, I could make the window border small to fit on my netbook. Right now, it ignores the settings I use.
I found a workaround in CS4 by using a program called WinPos that let me move the edges of the window off the edge of the screen so the border is not visible. This is a complicated solution, but it worked. But my company upgraded to CS5 and this workaround no longer works. No matter what I do the window "snaps" to the top edge of the screen.
The Application bar also makes CS programs difficult to use while windowed, which is helpful in certain cases. If I reach for the file, edit, object menu and click slightly too low or too high, it grabs the window and drags it around. This is non-standard windows behavior. I should have the option for a normal-looking title bar and a normal looking menu bar that integrates into Windows using the standard GUI.
I have looked at many hacks that people have tried on this forum and others, but there seems to be no way to completely turn off the application bar in all Adobe programs that use it. The Mac version allows you to turn off the Application Bar, why not allow Windows users the same convienence?
This may seem trivial to some, but it is an annoyance to a lot of people I have spoken to. The new CS Live button has also brought this design of the Application Bar to the forefront. You can turn off the CS Live button by renaming a system file, but the CS live icon is still visible in InDesign. Many of the functions of the Application bar can be found in the menus themselves, which begs the question, why do we need this redundancy?
Please, please give us a way to turn it off and make it work on all Adobe programs that use it. Or at the very least, tell me how to turn off the window snapping so I can use my WinPos workaround again.

This is a user to user forum. If you want to tell Adobe, do it here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

  • Need some help in creating Search Help for standard screen/field

    I need some help in adding a search-help to a standard screen-field.
    Transaction Code - PP01,
Plan Version - Current Plan (PLVAR = '01'),
    Object Type - Position ( OTYPE = 'S'),
Click on Infotype Name - Object ( Infotype 1000) and Create.
I need to add search help to fields Object Abbr (P1000-SHORT) / Object Name (P1000-STEXT).
I want to create one custom table with fields, Position Abb, Position Name, Job. Position Abb should be Primary Key. And when object type is Position (S), I should be able to press F4 for Object Abb/Object Name fields and should return Position Abbr and Position Name.
I specify again, I have to add a new search help to standard screen/field and not to enhance it.
This is HR specific transaction. If someone has done similar thing with some other transation, please let me know.
There is no existing search help for these fields. If sm1 ever tried or has an idea how to add new search help to a standard screen/field.
    It's urgent.

A search help exit is a function module for making the input help process described by the search help more flexible than possible with the standard version.
This function module must have the same interface as function module F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_EXAMPLE. The search help exit may also have further optional parameters (in particular any EXPORTING parameters).
A search help exit is called at certain timepoints in the input help process.
Note: The source text and long documentation of the above-specified function module (including the long documentation about the parameters) contain information about using search help exits.
Function modules are provided in the function library for operations that are frequently executed in search help exits. The names of these function modules begin with the prefix F4UT_. These function modules can either be used directly as search help exits or used within other search help exits. You can find precise instructions for use in the long documentation for the corresponding function module.
During the input help process, a number of timepoints are defined that each define the beginning of an important operation of the input help process.
If the input help process is defined with a search help having a search help exit, this search help exit is called at each of these timepoints. If required, the search help exit can also influence the process and even determine that the process should be continued at a different timepoint.
    timepoints
    The following timepoints are defined:
    1. SELONE
Call before selecting an elementary search help. The possible elementary search helps are already in SHLP_TAB. This timepoint can be used in a search help exit of a collective search help to restrict the selection possibilities for the elementary search helps.
Entries that are deleted from SHLP_TAB in this step are not offered in the elementary search help selection. If there is only one entry remaining in SHLP_TAB, the dialog box for selecting elementary search helps is skipped. You may not change the next timepoint.
The timepoint is not accessed again if another elementary search help is to be selected during the dialog.
    2. PRESEL1
After selecting an elementary search help. Table INTERFACE has not yet been copied to table SELOPT at this timepoint in the definition of the search help (type SHLP_DESCR_T). This means that you can still influence the attachment of the search help to the screen here. (Table INTERFACE contains the information about how the search help parameters are related to the screen fields).
    3. PRESEL
Before sending the dialog box for restricting values. This timepoint is suitable for predefining the value restriction or for completely suppressing or copying the dialog.
    4. SELECT
Before selecting the values. If you do not want the default selection, you should copy this timepoint with a search help exit. DISP should be set as the next timepoint.
    5. DISP
Before displaying the hit list. This timepoint is suitable for restricting the values to be displayed, e.g. depending on authorizations.
    6. RETURN (usually as return value for the next timepoint)
The RETURN timepoint should be returned as the next step if a single hit was selected in a search help exit.
It can make sense to change the F4 flow at this timepoint if control of the process sequence of the Transaction should depend on the selected value (typical example: setting SET/GET parameters). However, you should note that the process will then depend on whether a value was entered manually or with an input help.
    7. RETTOP
You only go to this timepoint if the input help is controlled by a collective search help. It directly follows the timepoint RETURN. The search help exit of the collective search help, however, is called at timepoint RETTOP.
    8. EXIT (only for return as next timepoint)
The EXIT timepoint should be returned as the next step if the user had the opportunity to terminate the dialog within the search help exit.
    9. CREATE
The CREATE timepoint is only accessed if the user selects the function "Create new values". This function is only available if field CUSTTAB of the control string CALLCONTROL was given a value not equal to SPACE earlier on.
The name of the (customizing) table to be maintained is normally entered there. The next step returned after CREATE should be SELECT so that the newly entered value can be selected and then displayed.
    10. APP1, APP2, APP3
If further pushbuttons are introduced in the hit list with function module F4UT_LIST_EXIT, these timepoints are introduced. They are accessed when the user presses the corresponding pushbutton.
Note: If the F4 help is controlled by a collective search help, the search help exit of the collective search help is called at timepoints SELONE and RETTOP. (RETTOP only if the user selects a value.) At all other timepoints the search help exit of the selected elementary search help is called.
If the F4 help is controlled by an elementary search help, timepoint RETTOP is not executed. The search help exit of the elementary search help is called at timepoint SELONE (at the
    F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_EXAMPLE
This module has been created as an example for the interface and design of Search help exits in Search help.
All the interface parameters defined here are mandatory for a function module to be used as a search help exit, because the calling program does not know which parameters are actually used internally.
A search help exit is called repeatedly in connection with several
events during the F4 process. The relevant step of the process is passed on in the CALLCONTROL step. If the module is intended to perform only a few modifications before the step, CALLCONTROL-STEP should remain unchanged.
However, if the step is performed completely by the module, the following step must be returned in CALLCONTROL-STEP.
The module must react with an immediate EXIT to all steps that it does not know or does not want to handle.
Hope this info will help you.

1.) You must first enable the root user account in order to change the relevant files. This can be done from the terminal, or by going to System Preferences --> Users & Groups. Once there, click on 'Login Options' at the bottom of the Current User list, and 'Join' where it says 'Network Account Server'.
This will bring up a smaller window. Click on 'Open Directory Utility' at the bottom. You will be prompted for your admin password. Now go to the 'Edit' tab at the top of the screen and toggle down to 'Enable Root User'.  You will be prompted to enter your admin password twice.
2.) Log out of your regular user account. At the log in screen you will now see an additional entry for 'other'. Click on that and log in with the username 'root' and your admin password. If are inexperienced as a root-level user, be careful as you can cause problems to your system can be difficult to undo.
Once in your root account, the first step is to create a new 'service definition' in the etc/services file. Open the file with text editor of choice and scroll to the current entry for sshd listening port, which will look like this:
ssh    22/udp    # SSH Remote Login Protocol
ssh    22/tcp     # SSH Remote Login Protocol
Overwrite the '22' with the port number you would like sshd to listen on:
ssh    12345/udp   # SSH Remote Login Protocol
ssh    12345/tcp    # SSH Remote Login Protocol
*12345 being our hypothetical, non-standard port.
It is important to note that the new port number will not take by simply adding a new uncommented line to the file (I tried), unless of course you comment the original ssh entries. Easiest way is just to overwrite what is there already. Save changes.
3.) You now need to edit the ssh.plist file, which is located at /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ssh.plist. A word to those familiar with Linux/BSD environments: changing the default port in the sshd_config file, which exists in OS X, does NOT change the listening port. Simply changing the default port, saving the config file, and restarting the server (the sensible way) won't work. The OS X sshd server (openssh) is configured to get launch instructions from the ssh.plist file, as opposed to sshd_config. If you are more interested in this aspect of OS X, read up on LaunchDaemons (e.g. launchd).
Before altering the ssh.plist file, you should save a backup copy in case of mistakes, or if you need to revert back to it in the future. Name your backup file something like original.ssh.plist, etc.
In the ssh.plist file, locate the SocksServiceName entry and change it from the default:
    <key>SockServiceName</key>
    <string>ssh</string>
    To the following:
    <key>SockServiceName</key>
    <string>$alternate port number</string>
In our example from above this value would be 12345.
4.) Save your changes, and exit ssh.plist. You now need to move the backup file you created (original.ssh.plist) out of the System/Library/LaunchDaemons path.
The updated sshd port will not take until you have only one ssh.plist file in the LaunchDaemons directory - this has to do with how launchd is configured to load files which is outside the scope of the current discussion.  (*If you've found a way around this, please share.)
5.) Restart the sshd server. Easiest way to accomplish this is going to System Preferences --> Sharing and clicking off 'Remote Login', then clicking back on it.
6.) Test the configuration by logging into the machine running the sshd server from another host using:
    ssh username@ipaddress -p 12345
There are a few good tutorials out there that capture some of these steps, but many are dated and/or incomplete. If you are running a standard setup of OS X 10.8, this should work for you.
Of course, don't be fooled into thinking that changing the default listening port from the ubiquitously-probed 22 equates to actual security. At best, it will cut down on the number of dubious connection attempts and probing.

Hi all, above helped me change the sshd port number, thank you very much.
Just upgraded to OS X 10.9.3 on my macbook pro.
    My findings were:
Step 1(become a root user or sudo)
    Step 2 (/etc/services)
This may not be required unless you want ssh to work without the "-p XXXX" option to connect to other ssh hosts.  I favor such as "ssh -p 2222 user@hostname" just to be sure I know what I am doing and also to leave ssh known port as its default "22".
    Step 3 (/System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ssh.plist)
This is required if you want to change the sshd port number, I changed both "ssh" to "2222" in this file.
    Step 4 (launchctl)
Below is a must as I understood:
    launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ssh.plist
    launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ssh.plist
it should be already working with the new port number.
You can "ssh -p 2222 user@localhost" in the console terminal and see if its working.
Since I am no expert on MacOS X, and it is a macbook pro that I am using, I also rebooted the system and changes were reflected permanantly.
    Thank you guys!

  • How to use non-standard port for vnc?

Our Windows users who use RDC to connect to their desktops from off-site come in on a non-standard port number. Part of our security setup.
I'd like to do the same with Mac users who use screen sharing and vnc to connect remotely.
How can I specify another port number at both ends to accomplish this?
I can find nothing in the Network Utility app, or in the KB.
Surely there's a short sequence of Terminal commands that will do this?

I haven't tried this so don't know whether it will work. But I think it will. Presuming the target machine is a Mac, see if editing its /etc/services file will do it. Find the two lines that start with "vnc-server" and change the port number there. Launch Terminal.app as an administratively privileged user, sudo pico /etc/services, ^w to search for vnc-server, make the changes, ^x to exit, y to save and overwrite. Also, you will need to have screen sharing enabled in the target machine's System Preferences' Sharing, and the authorized users defined there, too. Reboot. Now, on the remote client, assuming it is also a Mac, the user would type ⌘k in the Finder (or mouse to Finder > Go > Connect to Server), and enter something like vnc://123.45.67.89:55900 where you substitute the actual IP address or host name for where I have entered 123.45.67.89, and where you substitute the actual alternate port number where I have entered 55900. Of course, in the clients' Screen Sharing's Preferences, they should choose to encrypt the entire session, not just the login. Like I said, I haven't tried this because I just tunnel my vnc stuff through ssh, but I'm thinking that this should work.

    Hi,
        Try with the below FM
    RS_REFRESH_FROM_SELECTOPTIONS
in your custorm program, check the SY-CPROG and SY-XPROG values, for the standard program name or directly pass the importing parameter for the above FM as SAPLFSBP_02.

  • Accessing websites running on non-standard ports or with self-signed ssl certs?

I've got some sites running using self-signed ssl's that also run on non-standard ports. Firefox home doesn't seem to open these pages it just sits there with the spinner loading and a blank screen...
    Anyone else noticed this?

If the ASA is using a certificate issued by a CA that is in the client's trusted root CA store, then the ASA identity certificate does not need to be imported by the client.
That's why it's generally recommend to go the route of using a well-know public CA as they are alreay included in most modern browsers and thus the client doesn't need to know how to import certificates etc.
If you are using a local CA that is not in the client's trusted root CA store to issue your ASA identity certificate or self-signing certificates on the ASA then you need to take additional steps at the client.
In the first case, you would import the root CA certificate in the trusted root CA store of the client. After that, any certificates it has issued (i.e the ASA's identity certificate) would automatically be trusted by the client.
In the second case, the ASA's identity certificate itself would have be installed on the client since it (the ASA) is essentially acting as it's own root CA. I usually install them in my client's Trusted Root CA store but I guess that's technically not required, as long as the client knows to trust that certificate.
