REG: PI sheet update and closure.

Hi Gurus,
Good day!
Please show some light on the PI sheet process flow.
like, creation, sending to destination, updation , record .......?
I want to know the steps followed for completing the PI sheet and its effect on the process order. ( t-codes also please)
Thanks in advance.
Naveen.

Hello Naveen,
Process Management itself is a very big topic . I would suggest  to refer the below  link and let us know if you are not clear on any particular point.

  • Update and Overwrite Option in Import Master Data Package

    Hello,
In the package Import Master Data there is the option "Select method for loading master data". I don't understand very well what is the difference between the "Update" and "Overwrite" option. I have tested both and I get the same result.
Can someone explain to me what is the difference between both options ?
    Thanks,
    Mathieu

Option overwrite: all properties are overwritten. If they are not maintained in the source file, they will be deleted in the member sheet
Option update: only the properties maintained in the source file are overwritten. The other ones are not changed.

    Hello,
There are no files like that in that folder (com.apple.safari).  They all have long numbers with .jpeg or .png at the end.  That's what I meant by I cannot find any files like those mentioned in all the helps I read today.  BTW-it's still crashing - no particular pattern to it at all.
The only two things I have downloaded recently is a new version of Flash and a Mac-driven update to Office.
Thank you very much for your attempt to help us.

    Dear All
We are calling our operators as associates. We are planning all our activities & executing them using Pm orders. Each operation is assigned to the personal number. Now we want to integrates time sheet updation with the confirmation. My requirement is to update time for associates automatically in time sheet when i confirm the order operation assigned to person. What should i do to meet the requirement. Can you tell me configuration required to be done or any development i need to do for that so that i can meet that requirement?
    Thanks in advance.

    HI,
First You have to create the
    Data Entry Profile
The data entry profile determines the method of data entry, the layout of the data entry screen, and the following factors:
Whether times can be entered for individual employees or for groups of employees
Which data can be maintained (confirmations, services, and so on)
Whether time sheet data is entered on a daily, weekly or monthly basis
Whether or not the data entered is subject to approval
    IMG Path----->
Cross-Application Components--->Set Up Data Entry Profiles and Field Selection
After then You can use TC CAT2 in whch you have to mainain the Responsble persong along with activity time and cost center,Order for which you want to  fill required Time Confirmation. Then you have to Use TC CAT9 for transfer Working hours of responsible person to Order.Execute this transction. Now you can see the posted time in iw33 EXTRADocument For order----Completion confirmation.

  • Have been using good ole cannons from 70 h 80's for years.Need to update and understand new technolo

Have been using the cannons for many years mostly scenic areas. Quit using them eight years past.
I am retired and need to update and understand what you have so l can start over. Thanks for your help, Edgar.

    Hi Edgar,
While there are occasional Canon tech wizards on here to help out, mostly it's conversations among Canon users.
You are basically wanting to go from film to digital, which can be both easy and very, very complex. Some of the modern DSLRs can be used in a highly automated, almost "point n shoot" manner. Or you can get as involved in using them as you wish, using less of the automation, usually with more consistent and pleasing results... but a much steeper learning curve.
If your Canon are from the 70s and 80s, they are manual focus lenses and cameras with the FD mount. Some of those were fantastic, but simply aren't usable on modern Canon, which use EF mount. So you are most likely starting from scratch.
I'd recommend one of the more entry-level models, perhaps with one or two kit lenses to get started learning to shoot digital. But it sort of depends upon your budget, how much you want to spend. I don't know where you are in the world... I'm in the US so below I'm refering to the current US model designations Canon offers (and international designations are in parens). All these models are "EOS".
The Canon Rebel T3 (1100D) is the most entry level model. If bought in kit, it usually comes with EF 18-55mm lens.
Rebel SL1 (100D) is a very compact camera, in kit usually comes with 18-55mm lens.
Rebel T3i (600D) is a bit larger and adds some features... in kit it's often offered with 18-55mm, or sometimes with 18-135mm, or sometimes in a 2-lens kit with 18-55mm and 55-250mm.
Rebel T5i (700D) is the top of the Rebel series line and mostly adds features related to videography. It can be found in kit with the same options as the T3i.
EOS 60D is a mid-grade model, using a true pentaprism (the Rebel series use a penta-mirror). With higher top shutter speed (1/8000 vs 1/4000 on the Rebels), somewhat different controls (more direct access to things commonly used by more advanced photographers). The 60D is being discontinued right now, but you will still see a lot of them in stores.
All the above have essentially the same "APS-C size" 18MP sensor (except T3/1100D which uses a 15MP sensor). T5i and 60D have a similar, more advanced autofocus system.
EOS 70D is the new model that's replacing the 60D, has a new 20MP sensor, as well as a more sophisticated autofocus system than any of the above.
60D and 70D in kit usually come with 18-135mm lens, but sometimes there are alternatives.
The EOS 7D is the top of the line APS-C size sensor, a fairly pro-oriented camera with less support for new digital shooters, a sophisticated and fast autofocus system. .
Finally there are also and so-called "full frame models EOS 6D, 5D Mark III and 1DX (sensor is 24x36mm, same image size as most 35mm film cameras shoot). The 6D is essentially an entry-level, more compact full frame model. 5D Mark III is a mid-grade model, and the 1DX is an uber expensive pro-oriented, high speed model. You might be tempted by these initially, coming from film cameras. But be aware they not only cost more initially, are a bit more limited in lens choices, plus the lenses for them will generally tend to be larger, heavier and more expensive. The APS-C or "crop sensor" models can use all EF and all EF-S lenses. While the "full frame" models can only use EF lenses. EF-S lenses are specifically designed for crop sensor cameras. EF lenses were designed for film or have been designed for full frame, but are also fully usable on crop cameras. So, crop cameras can essentially use any lens Canon has made since around 1990 and onward.
I'd recommend you start with one of the crop sensor models.... graduate later to one of the full frame models, if you find that necessary. Today's crop sensor cameras are actually quite capable. You can make a pretty large print from them, with little loss of image quality. You'll just have to "re-think" focal lengths, from what you are accustomed to. For example, a 50mm lens on a crop sensor camera is no longer a "standard" lens. It acts more as a short telephoto, like an 80mm would on your film cameras (nice for portraits). If you want a standard lens on a crop sensor camera, you'll want something around 30mm. The 18-55mm kit lenses, for example, cover approx. the same angle of view range as a 28-90mm zoom would on your film cameras.
Now, seeing that you are an experienced SLR user, you probably don't need the automation and newbie support of some of the most entry-level models. But also going from manual focus to autofocus (which, when used right is faster and more accurate than I ever was with manual focus, and I was pretty good!)... I'd suggest starting out with one of the simpler AF systems.
The T5i or 60D might be good choices for you. Go compare in a store, if at all possible.
Just as was true in the days of film, lenses still tend to make more of a difference than the camera they are used upon. In other words, the entry level kit lenses might be a low cost way to get into modern, autofocus, digital cameras... but if you're budget allows you might want to consider some more advanced lenses. In the kit lenses, I would recommend the "STM" (stepper motor autofocus drive) models... they are the latest and greatest. But there are even better, in particular the USM (ultrasonic motor autofocus drive) which are often found in otherwise upgraded lenses. For example, for crop cameras there are the EF-S 10-22mm, EF-S 15-85mm USM, EF-S 17-55/2.8 USM and EF 70-200/4L USM lenses. These are fast and accurate focusing, with top quality optics. Most of these lenses also have or are optionally available with Image Stabilization (IS), which is great and allows handheld shots that were near impossible with your older gear. Highly recommended.
Shop around and don't forget to allow some room in your budget for other necessities. You'll need memory cards (the entry level models and T5i, 60D that I recommended all use "SD/SDHC" memory cards). You also might want a spare camera battery (most entry level models use LP-E8, the 60D uses the larger LP-E6 to get about twice as many shots per charge). There are also accessory battery grips available for most models mentioned, which give secondary controls that are nice when shooting with the camera in portrait orientation, as well as adding a second battery to double the number of shots you can take. Most of the lenses mentioned don't include the lens hood, which I highly recommend buying, too.
All these Canon cameras come with a complete software suite, all you really need to get started cataloging and editing your images on your computer (some other manufacturers sell certain softwares separately). However you still might want to look into some third party softwares. Adobe Elements is an excellent and affordable introduction to Photoshop, which is arguably the "big daddy" of all image editing softwares. There are others... some cheaper, even some free... and you don't really need to rush into adding softwares unless you simply want to. The included Canon software is fine to get started.
I guarantee you will find yourself shooting a lot more digital images, than you ever did with film. For one, after the initial cost of the camera, lenses and basic gear, you will feel like "shooting digital is free!". It's not really (camera and memory wear out eventually, upgrades come along, and digital storage & backup fill up rather quickly). But it's certainly cheaper than shooting film. Last time I shot a lot of film I figured it cost a minimum of 50 to 75 cents per shot (common 35mm film with local, consumer grade processing, 4x6 prints or contact sheets... $15 to $20 per 36 exposure film). Digital reduces that to around 5 cents per shot, on average.
You'll also love high ISO shooting with your new DSLR. Any of the above cameras can be used at ISO 1600 with much better results than any film at that rating. With a little extra work, ISO 3200 and 6400 are quite usable... perhaps even higher! I rarely use lower than ISO 200 now, where with film the bulk of my work was at ISO 50 and 100.
You also will enjoy the immediate feedback you get being able to review your images on the spot, right on the LCD screen on the back of the camera. The histogram, in particular, is very helpful once you learn to use it. Heck, you can even shoot tethered to a computer and see your images full size on a computer monitor immediately, if you wish... Or download them and view them just minutes after pressing the shutter release button!
Get some books about digital photography. In addition to something more general, I also highly recommend getting one of the guide books specific to whatever camera model you choose. That will complement the manual that comes with the camera. If you get an image editing/cataloging software, I'd recommend a book specifically for that, too. Another book I recommend is "The DAM Book - Digital Asset Management for Photographers"... which can be found and bought online. It's very helpful setting up your "workflow", and the sooner you do that, the better (it's the pits having to go back, reorganize and potentially redo thousands or hundreds of thousands of images).
There are also good online tutorials about many aspects of digital photography. For example, I highly recommend the three half-hour videos on YouTube about Canon autofocus systems and how to get the best results with them... beginning with this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAx86nblZ2g This is a few years old now, but still quite relevant... the 50D is discussed at length, but it uses an AF system that's virtually identical to the 60D, for example. It also might help to know some of the features of the more recent, more spphisticated AF systems, which are discussed a bit. There are other videos and online tutorials at the Canon Learning Center, on YouTube, and elsewhere. Some are model specific... such as the AF system of the 7D (which is largely carried over into the 70D now).... and the even more advanced 5D Mark III/1DX AF system.
Other users here and at other forums online can be a big help, too. Don't be afraid to ask questions (we've all been there at one time or another).

  • HT5381 i did a software update and now mail wont open at all

Help......my mail app is coming up with an error "You can't use this version of Mail with this version of Mac OS X".  Can I uninstall the update?

    !! WARNING !!
    about the September 2012
    "Security Update 2012-004"
If you've got "Mail.app" in a folder OTHER THAN the root "Applications" folder,
MOVE "MAIL.APP" TO THE APPLICATIONS FOLDER
    **BEFORE** INSTALLING THE "004" UPDATE!!
Because *IF* you use OSX's integrated Software Update app from the Apple menu to do the "004" updating, and *IF* your Mail.app is NOT in the Applications folder, then buddy, you've got some sitdown fixit time ahead of ya and/or some internet tie-up time downloading the "004" update file itself.
Been through it all, already.  In fact, just got done getting my Mail back up & running. And I tried everything short of attempting to unpacking my "Mail.pkg" receipt file using... whatever... even Pacifist couldn't get it out. So that fixit "Plan D" died quick. And I'm not savvy enough to use Terminal commands to do "Plan E," so that SUDO stuff was my brick wall.
So I compressed my entire "Mail" subdirectory that contain all my emails, for safekeeping during the required surgery, or whatever would work, leaving the original Mail directory where it was. In case something bad happened in all my fixit whatevers, the one thing I *didn't* want to cross paths with was a hosed Library -> Mail folder. Then I'd be pssd. But I can wipe out that ZIP now 'cause all's well now. After 6 hrs of downloading thru a mobile broadband hotspot running at only 14KB/sec speed due to my having gone over my T-Mobile hotspot plan's bandwidth amount (throttled-down after reaching the limit, tho not cut off completely. Kinda nice, but it's a huge speed drop).
I tried moving the two Mail.app versions around, compressing them & then trashing the original so they wouldn't be recognized, blabla, even booted my Mac in Safe Mode & reinstalled the "MacOSX 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) Update Combo.dmg" update file, which in the past has fixed many problems. But after restarting, not this one.
Like a dummy who ignored knowing better, I had my Mail.app in a folder other than the Applications folder, with only an alias to that being in the Applications folder. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. The updater don't see that as nuthin special or useful.
So if you've got, like I've got, "old" icons for Mail.app (v4.5) in your Finder toolbar & in your Dock that all point to "Mail.app v4.5" in whatever folder you've got that in, other than in the Applications folder (where Apple apparently REQUIRES that it be located, and ONLY there, at least for OSX updating purposes), then after you download & autorun that "004" updater using Software Update, NONE of your pre-existing Mail icons will work. And MOST aggravatingly, **NOR** will your brand-new "Mail.app v4.6" work that came out of the "004" updating installation.  So basically, your Mail.app's... all of 'em.... are hosed. But only if you run the "004" update without your "Mail.app v4.5" being located in your Applications folder and ONLY in your Applications folder. And duplicates of Mail.app, scattered around your HDD??  Always a problem with many Apple apps.... The Apple software engineers apparently like 'em to be in the Applications folder, and in ONLY there, and ONLY the latest version, and ONLY 1 single copy of each on your entire HDD. They just don't seem to stress that enough, it appears. Kind of an oversight for them to not emphasize that, IMO...
My recommendation for this particular September 2012 "004" update:
If you run Software Update, and if you see the "Security Update 2012-004" listed as available for download, UNCHECKMARK IT.  DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT USING SOFTWARE UPDATE !  Instead, download the actual update file itself.
Same thing, only a different way of doing it. Most importantly, you'll be skipping the auto-installation that Software Update performs.
AND you'll have that update file on your HDD for future fixits, should a nasty "unfixable" problem come up.
First, #1. Do a filename search for "Mail" (Option-Command-Spacebar). Scroll down to where the "Apps" are located in the list under the "Kind" column heading. First, find your Mail.app that's v4.5. Get that bugger into your Applications folder if it's not already there. Next, Trash all other "Mail.app" apps you see in that same list that you may have elsewhere on your HDD.
    #2. Go here: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1586
And download the actual "004" DMG update file: "SecUpd2012-004.dmg"
And of course, it's a biggie.... 270MB... so watching grass grow may be involved here if you've got a slow connection (go to a MacDonalds & do it, like I shoulda done).
    3. After downloading, I'd recommend closing down all apps, emptying the Trash, and restarting.
Then, after restarting, run Disk Utility's "Repair Disk Permissions."
Then, doublecheck that the Mail.app version 4.5 is in your Applications folder.
THEN fire up & install "SecUpd2012-004.dmg."
    Reboot.
After the reboot, your Mail.app version 4.5 in the Applications folder will have become Mail.app version 4.6 in the Applications folder, and all will be well again.
And you can dump that zipped-up "Username -> Library -> Mail" folder then, too.
    Happy Mac'in!

  • I do updates and then have to reinstall previous versions - time and time again because of the number of unsupported add-ons

4 or 5 times I've updated Firefox only to have to reinstall the previous version due to incompatibility with add-ons / plug-ins / toolbars. I'm not a big user of Toolbars but I have some add on I use daily.
The last 3 times I did a "suggested by Firefox" update I've had to reinstall a previous version from my saved files in order to use Firefox. This problem has caused me to return to IE as my default browser - but unwillingly.
My current setup is Firefox 4.0.1 Beta and I had to reinstall a version 3 in the Firefox folder until addons starting working in this 4.0.1 Beta. However 4.0.1 has always hung up, even opening a tab and ceases to respond; sometimes for minutes.
I run Win XP - SP3 Dell Pentium 4 - 3.0ghz with 4 gigs of DDR2 - GX520. So it's not an equipment problem - (I have 4 PC's on my home LAN - although each serves it's purpose and seldom are 2 used at the same time.
When I installed 4.0.1 and then reinstalled 3.x ... I've been hoping for an update --- I love Firefox - have ever since first use - and then today I saw the update versions had jumped from 4 all the way to 7. I was enthused.
Same issue. On install over the V 3.x it showed 6 items of add-ons that were incompatible. I did not remove the V 7 ... I simple reopened the 4.0.1 beta. I use it for single page browsing as tabs locks it up or slows it to a crawl.
I'm having to continue using IE as my default --- I always keep a backup browser, but I don't care for much of anything that has an MS on it's name.
I've never posted to Mozilla ... but the idea crossed my mind over a year ago when I updated and had to back-up and reinstall. WHY can't a program precede the update to check for compatibility, just as an upgrade adviser from one OS to another?
This was the biggest list of all. NET Framework Assistant, Google Toolbar, Yahoo Toolbar, Roboform ... there were 2 others. I don't use the Yahoo Toolbar. I have Google Toolbar installed but keep it hidden except when I need it (for Page Rank, etc., I work websites).
But I won't use a browser that doesn't support AI Roboform.
I honestly love Firefox. I code webpages - .asp, .html and do SEO ... but I don't know the difficulty of writing even a small application. Would it be too difficult to have a small program that would check for these add-on incompatibilities before installing the updates.
I was impressed with 4.0.1 beta until I realized that opening a new window or tab bogged it down.
I want Firefox back but not with band-aids and work-around bandages. Is there a version between 4.0.1 and v7 which I tried tonight that would support my plug-ins / add-on. My experience with Firefox using versions up to 3.x has been great. But for months and months I open 4.0.1 and open my TV guide at ZapIt and then I've had to use IE 8 for all my web browsing.
My most important add-on is for Roboform and 2nd would be for Google Toolbar - but on a scale of 1-10 Roboform is a 10+ and Google Toolbar a 3.
If this post does not go to the support team at Firefox then how would I go about suggesting an Update Adviser prior to installing an update?
Anyone with a flexible solution - even short term - that would allow me to see Firefox improvements since the v4 I'm using would be more appreciated than I could ever express.
Since I've never posted before I'm not even sure how I'll get a response or be able to see any responses. Something during the registration said I could get an email when a reply was posted.
Thanks again for listening to me whimper and beg for a workable Firefox; I miss it.

this is all I can find, thank you for your time.

  • Windows Update in Endless Loop of 'Installing updates" and "Undoing changes" on New Windows 8.1 Pro Install

I am setting new Windows 8.1 Pro computers, and am installing Windows 8.1 Pro to bare drives.  Everything goes fine until Windows Update starts installing updates, and then the computer goes for hours installing updates, and then "We
could not complete the updates Undoing changes".   It's an endless loop. It seems to be the same 38 updates.  This is a recent phenomenon.  I have not run into this until the last week or two on several new computer installs.
Again these are brand new installs, so something is clearly wrong with the Windows updates.
If anyone can please tell me how to avoid this, it would be much appreciated.
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
"  This is a recent phenomenon"
Have you made any modifications to the machines ?
To resolve this issue ,running the built-in troubleshoot tool is a very good beginning .It will automatically diagnostic the windows update components and check the configurations for us .
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting\Fix problems with Windows Update
If there are antivirus software installed in these machines, please turn off them temporarily to have a check.
The command line included in the link as S.Sengupta posted is very useful and convenient to repair the windows corrupted files .We can have a try .
    "sfc /scannow" ,"DISM.EXE /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth "
We also can check the windowsupdate.log for more information to troubleshoot this issue .
     Run "windowsupdate.log"
If you have trouble in analyzing the log ,please upload them to the OneDrive and paste the link here .
    Best regards

  • I attached my perfectly functioning iPhone 4 to my computer to update and came back to an error message saying I have to do a factory restore which cause me to lose everything recent because I'm not even sure that the backup completed correctly

I left my iPhone attached to my computer to do an update and now I can't use the phone at all.  It was taking so long I left it, when I came back there was an erroe message saying that I need to do a factory restore on the phone.  It wasn functioning perfectly before I attached it to iTunes to do the update and now since I can't even be sure that the back up completed, I'm faced with losing a lot of stuff recently added to my phone.
I don't want to do a restore, I just want my phone back to how it was this afternoon before I connected it to iTunes.

If the screen shows a plug going to itunes, then you have no choice,  It's in recovery mode.  You'll be given the chance to restore from a backup either from itunes or icloud.
I assume when you got the message to update (was this for the ios or update some apps?), that was before the device when dead.  At any rate, doing a restore does not change the ios.

  • When I plug in my iPod and it syncs it says that a bunch of my apps cannot be loaded because my iPod does not have the latest software to support them, but I have done all of the iPod software updates and the same apps were working fine just weeks ago...?

I plug in my iPod to charge from my computer and it syncs with my iTunes, but I've been getting a message that a list of 13 of my apps cannot be loaded onto my iPod because it doesn't have the latest software to support them. I have done all the software updates for my iPod and iTunes says it is completed up-to-date. Do I need to delete the apps and redownload them or what?
    Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

ok well like lllaass said, most apps require 4.3 or later iOS software. chances are since the apps worked before, the apps themselves got updated and will no longer work with your software version.

  • Ok! so i tried updating my ipad 2 software to I.O.S 6.1 and it failed then continued to shut down and put the plug into itunes logo on my screen! I then i have been trying to update and restore my Ipad 2, then it says corrupt file and stops any advice?

This is ridiculous!!!!! Apple Corporation needs to fix what ever went wrong with IOS 6.1 update and they better do it soon or theyre going to have a mob on their hands!! i have been continuosly restoring and updating my iPad 2 and it always says corrupt file then restarts the whole process! im going out of my mind and im about to say to **** with it and call apple themselves and make so many complaints that theyll fix it within the hour or i will go to new york city at the head of the corporation and make the most skeptical and most embarrissing seen that they will end up ashamed to even be working for a company with the supposedly "SMARTEST AND BRIGHTEST TECHNOLOGICAL PEOPLE IN THE U.S." who cant even get a software update correct so that it doesnt make some of our lives harder then they need to be! and if its already known to be corrupt then should take it off the whatever update liost and fix it before anyone else has to go what ive gone through, cause its pure torcher!! i paid good money for a product for easy use whenever and thats not what im getting when they cant even make a simple update thats supposed to help but only makes my product worse and make me wanna never buy from them again!
