  • Giving access to the planners for the 1st 2 weeks of every month to plan

    Hi Friends
I m implementing a BPC 7 MS rolling forecast planning.
Now the base member of the Time Dimensionis Month.
    my requirement is ,
A Planner will be get a  alert to at the end of every month to start the process of Monthly planning for the next month.
And the planner will only get 2 weeks of a month to plan the quantity . After that that particular planner will not able to plan any further for that  particular month.
In my planning application, the secured dimensions are ENTITY, CATEGORY & PRODUCT  and in the Ownership Dimension is used in the PRODUCT DIMENSION, becuase planning process is driven by the Brand.
The same process shoud repeat for all the coming months.
And also is there any way to automate the above process.
    Regards

For example, your workstatus settings have the following settings:
Entity, Time and Category are the dimensions on which workstatus is checked.
You application is called Planning, so the table where the workstatus is maintained is dbo.tblPlanningLock.
The table has the following columns (I don't know this by heart and have nowhere to check right now, so check on you own system!):
    - StatusCode (The code corresponding to the status column in dbo.tblStatusCode)
    - Category (The locked category member)
    - Entity (The locked entity member)
    - Time (The locked time member, for correct syntax check your own system, because i am not sure but I think you should put TimeID here from the membertable)
    - TimeName (The locked time member again, but with the memberID from the time dimension. Again you should check this in your own system as I am nog 100% sure about the syntax here and cannot check right now.)
    - Lastupdate (the date of the update. For exact syntax again check your own system)
    - Updateby (user which updated the workstatus)
What you want to do now is to create a file to load new records into this table. This could for example be a csv file. This file can be imported using the DATAFLOW task in SQL Business Intelligence Development Studio. This csv file should have the following format (or if you want to use another you have to create a mapping to):
(For example purposes I assumed that the code for locked is 2)
    Statuscode,Category,Entity,Time,TimeName,Lastupdate,UpdateBy
    2,BUDGET,E0001,20100100,2010.JAN,14-01-2010,DOMAINNAMEUSERNAME
This can be done by running the package from BPC or by scheduling it on the server. There is a how to guide on how to create SSIS packages on SDN. This is the link:
[How to Build SSIS Packages for Business Planning and Consolidation 5.0|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/2027ebee-a928-2a10-4485-b88c926f5e24|]
This link is for 5.0 but the proces in BPC 7 is quite similar.

  • How to split family plan into 2 separate plans

Hello! I need assistance. How do I separate a family plan into 2 separate plans? 2 of 5 members do not want to be on the plan. How would I go about making this change?

    Three words.
Assumption of Liability. That's the process you need to do. Get the account owner and the parties who want to split off and head to the nearest Verizon Wireless corporate store. Tell the rep that's what you are there to do.

  • Splitting a family plan into two separate plans.

My ex-boyfriend and I have been sharing a family plan and would like to switch to two separate plans.  I am the primary line on the account.  Can we split our plans at any time or should we wait until both phones are up for the New Every 2?
Also, my line is eligible for a discounted upgrade right now.  I would like to purchase my new phone online to take advantage of the online discount.  Should I upgrade my phone before we go to split our lines?
    Thank you,
    Rachel

You can split at any time, and it will not impact the contract end date on either line.  Your boyfriend may need to pay a deposit to take over the line.  The process is called an Assumption of Liability, and you can do it over the phone with both parties present, or in a store.
If your phone is eligible for an upgrade now, you should do it before the switch, because when you move to an individual plan, if it is of a lower value than your current family plan, your eligibility may change.

  • In Planning Book ICON - Demand Planning

    Dear Expert
    In Planning book in DP
There is a ICOn  Load Data (FOLDER) what for it is used , when i press the button the forecast data appear in the display which mean does it pulling the data from Live cache to planning book or from BI
There is one more ICON `
    Header information settings
when i click this i can see all my charecteriscs and when i select it is dispayed in the top
how can it be used in bussiness point of view
    Thanks & Regards
    Raj

    Dear Raj
In the planning book, you can select more than one product at a time. When you click on one product, in planning book it will show you the data for particular product. In same case business users want to see the all the information together for more than one product.
In this case we can select these multiple products and use this load data icon which will load the data for all the products together. For example
                   Month1     Month 2     Month 3
    Product A     Demand          10          10          10
    Product B     Deamnd          20          20          20
When you select both the products and load the data by using load icon you will see Total demand as below in the planning book.
                   Month     1     Month 2     Month 3
              Demand          30          30          30
Now with the Header information, you can select the respective characteristic on which you want see this data disaggregated.
Please let us know if you have any more doubts regarding it.
    Thanks

  • Display Planning data (for demand planning) in another UoM

    Hi All,
The Planning area UoM is in "L". We have products whose base UoM is KG and some in L. In BW we convert all to L and load into Planning area.
The Product master is CIFed to APO and has the conversion between L and KG.
we have a requirement to view the planning data in Kilo tons i.e 1,000,000 KG.
Have maintained a Mass UoM called ZKT in CUNI transaction and maintained the conversion that 1ZKT = 1,000,000 KG. Also have defined an ISO code for the same.
Now when we load the data in the planning book the default UoM is L. When we go to user setting and maintain alternate UoM as Tons "TO", the system converts the data to tons and displays it. no matter what is the criteria used in header selection.
But when we try to display data as ZKT UoM get a error msg that conversion from L to ZKT is not possible as the conversion is not maintained in Product master.
But when we select material code (SKU) as the show condition and also in the filter condition use material code (SKU) and make a selection, the system converts the planning data from L to ZKT.
The question is when the system can convert L to TO at any character level as long as the product master has the L to KG conversion, why is not able to convert L to ZKT.
Why is the system able to convert L to ZKT for individual SKU's and only when the show condition is Material code (SKU).
    Would appreciate your quick reply.
    Thanks,
    Nitin

    Hi Nitin,
We have same scenario right away in our system. Some of our material have a conversion in R/3 for example: 1Unit=10BULTOS, then CIFing into APO.
The scenario is that, once we planned already in APO- we dont want to go back in r/3, any changes should be remained in APO. What we did is that we maintained the CIF user setup. Maybe you can try this as well without affecting other Uom.
    Cheers!

    Please provide some input.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

That means your database is in a different locale than mine. When I select cast(Edate as varchar), I get the date returned in the format 'YYYY-MM-DD'. That's why I use(left(cast(Edate as varchar),4) + right(left(cast(Edate as varchar),7),2) to get it the format 'YYYYMM' before converting it into an integer.
Your database most probably returns dates in a format like D/MM/YYYY. That's the reason for the error you get. You'll have to select (right(cast(Edate as varchar),4) + left(right(cast(Edate as varchar),7),2) to obtain the same results as I do.
Alternatively, you can use the convert function to obtain the same results:
         select max(
         cast(left(convert(varchar,Edate,102),4) + right(left(convert(varchar,Edate,102),7),2) as int) + 1 -
         cast(left(convert(varchar,Sdate,102),4) + right(left(convert(varchar,Sdate,102),7),2) as int))
         FROM src_split'
It's always good practice to test the SQL-statements in your database client first before including them in a DS script.
Also, I suddenly realise this statement will only return the correct result when your Edate and Sdate are always within the same year. If that's not the case, but the gap between Edate and Sdate is always less than 10 years, change your statement to:
         select max(
         cast(left(convert(varchar,Edate,102),4) + right(left(convert(varchar,Edate,102),7),2) as int) + 1 -
         cast(left(convert(varchar,Sdate,102),4) + right(left(convert(varchar,Sdate,102),7),2) as int)) % 88
         FROM src_split'

  • SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization, Demand Planning Add-In for Microsoft Excel 1.0

Does anyone know if the DP Add-in for Microsoft Excel is doing well. How does it pull/push data on the DP tool? Is it fast, and is it a free add-in ?

    Hi Satish
As you know business always loves to work in excel and if we offer this possibility they are going to appreciate it very much.
We have already perform PoC for the excel frontend in out business scenario and looks really positive. At the same time, I will also say that there is still big room for improvement for SAP. SAP is already coming with better excel front end but only with IBM demand solution.
so going back to our topic, I would say surely you should go for it. It would be really great if you have data view with less or minimum key figures should be exported to excel where business require to update or maintain key figures. If I am correct, I think you are unable to use it for aggregate forecasting or you have default macro´s to be execute immediately.
In summary, it´s worth to explore the option to see if it works for your business. I am sure business users will be very much happy with this.
Please let me know if this information helps you.

  • Split week day into two sunday and wednes day

    hi all,
the scenario is the program has to run on every sunday and wednes day. need sample code for this.
    regards,
    kumar

    Hi kumar,
In the starting of the program, use the FM
    DAY_IN_WEEK
and pass parameter DATUM = SY-DATUM.
Schedule this program to run EVERYDAY.
But using the below logic, it will really run on wednesday and sunday only.
It will return variable WOTNR 1 for monday, 2 for tuesday....7 for sunday.
    If WOTNR = 3 or WOTNR = 7.
    else.
    exit program.
    endif.

    Hi user602232,
the batch logfile does not reveal any issues. It would be helpful to get more details:
    1. what kind of data does not appear in the worksheets? Level values etc?
    2. some more details about the demand plan setup and demand plan assignments would help.
The first things I would check:
    a) was data collection successful
    b) check the demand planner assignments

  • "CLOSED": HOW TO LOAD FIRM PLANNED ORDERS OF ANOTHER PLAN INTO ASCP PLAN?

    Hi everybody,
How to load firm planned orders of plan 1 into plan 2?
    Business Case:
Customer uses a separate planning for order intake. During order intake the requested due date is validated based on ASCP Gantt Chart. Bottlenecks are resolved. For make items firm discrete jobs are created, if adjusted suggested due dates are manually changed. For buy items firm planned orders are created for manually changed suggested due dates.
If the order is accepted the demand is transferred from the Order Intake MDS into the so called Operational MDS. The firm discrete job will be automatically visible in the operational ASCP Plan (after data collection/running ASCP Plan).
But how is it possible to include ONLY firm planned orders of another plan into your current plan?
    PLAN1 asigned master demand schedules
    - O_MDS1
    - O_MDS2
    PLAN2 assigned master demand schedules
    - O_MDS1
    - O_MDS2
    - T_MDS
I want to transfer the firm planned orders from plan2 to plan1.
    Thanks for all your inputs,
    Catalina

Since you need to run a data collection to load the new discrete job, I suggest you to add a custom step in the data collection.
    This custom step will
    1) select all firmed planned order in plan 2
    2) put the firm planned order into a new schedule through staging tables (MST_ST_SUPPLIES) .
    3) collect the data
Then run plan1 with this schedule defined as demand schedule for your new plan.

  • What is demand planning and shop floor plannig, explain briefly?

I like to know and understand about demand planning and shop floor plaining? please explain briefly?
    Thank you,
    york

    Hi Les,
    <b>Demand Planning</b> is
Application component in the Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO) that allows you to forecast market demand for your company's products and produce a demand plan.
APO Demand Planning has a data mart in which you store and maintain the information necessary for the demand planning process in your company. Using this information along with user-defined planning layouts and interactive planning books, you can integrate people from different departments into the forecasting process. The APO DP library of statistical forecasting and advanced macro techniques allows you to create forecasts based on demand history as well as any number of causal factors, and use a consensus-based approach to consolidate the results. Marketing intelligence and management adjustments can be added by using forecast overrides and promotions. The seamless integration with APO Supply Network Planning supports an efficient S&OP process.

  • Pros and cons Demand Planning in APO or ECC

    Hello,
is there a paper/pdf out there describing the pros and cons of DP in APO and ECC. We are planning to implement demand planning and are in an evaluation face whether to go with an APO solution or not. The financial aspect is not an issue. We already have the licensing in place for APO and ECC.
Which solution provides better flexibility and usability? Have any of you guys got experience with implementing demand planning in a non-manufacturing orgnisation. That is we are looking for a tool to forecast/plan external and internal procurement.
    Any suggestions are  welcome.

    Hi ,
Definitely APO DP have many advantage over ECC.
=> More Flexibility than ECC demand management
=> Complex statistical tool can be used for forecasting
=> Complex macros can be build as per the business need
=> Easy visilbility & maintenance of the data
=> Advance Demand planning functionalities like Promotional planning, LCM, Management decisions, etc can be incorporated easily.
Also refer the details provided in the below thread for more details:

  • APO Demand Planning in Weekly bucket with customized definition

    Hi
I would be performing Demand Planning on a weekly bucket. Week starts from Saturday and Ends on Friday. The Planning will be performed for the six future month.
Can anyone suggest, how it can be done and If Fiscal Year Variant has to be used, then what will be the definition of the variant.
The financial year is from 1st jan to 31st Dec
    Looking forward to a solution.
    Regards,
    Anoop

You can define a fiscal year variant with 52 weeks and specify the last day as a friday in every period...
To carry out planning for 6 future months only..you may define a Time bucket profile for 6 months and use this in the dataview definition.Use the above fiscal year variant in this Time bucket profile

In the contribution limits for regular payroll - If your savings plans contribution types is by percentage then give the maximum pre-tax has 100.00 , if it is not by percentage -then give the contribution units to its maximum .
To recheck -go to Pa30 and benefits tab -saving plans and regular contribution tab and check your reference period for contributions.
