  • Problem in SELECT TAG using variables

    Hi all,
    I have a JSP page which updates the record for a user.Now there is a HTML select tag and when the user queries its data this SELECT tag will automaticaly select the user stored item in database automatically. It means the select tag will have a variable to select the options. Now how can i use variables in SELECT TAG. Please help needed.

    I'm not exactly sure what you are asking, but here goes.
    First, are you able to populate the select box with all the names... this is what it sounds like to me.
    Or are you not able to populate it nor select it.
    I use JSTL for all my jsps... so for me I would store a collection on the form and then iterate through it. (arrayList being my preference)
    look into using <c:forEach> or you could try <logic:iterate> which I've used before but it has been several years.
    here is an example block of code.
    Sorry this is going to be a bit convoluted because of what I'm doing with it..
    but I have an ArrayList that contains string arrays... position 0 being the value I want returned (like 1 through 10) and position 1 being the text representation..
    so it comes out like
    1 - Option 1
    2 - Option 2
    You will notice the if statement where I check to see if the localList[0] is equal to the view field. view would be your selected value.
    <SELECT name="view" size="7"
         multiple="multiple" class='OmniDlgLabel'>
                   <c:if test="${sessionScope.PHI2Form.localList!=null}">
                        <c:forEach var="localList"
                             items="${sessionScope.PHI2Form.localList}" varStatus="status">
                             <OPTION value='<c:out value="${localList[0]}"/>'
                                       <c:if test="${sessionScope.PHI2Form.view==localList[0]}">SELECTED</c:if>>
                             <c:out value="${localList[0]}"/>-<c:out value="${localList[1]}" /></OPTION>
                        </c:forEach>
                   </c:if>
    </SELECT></TD>There is an extra > that I cannot get rid of.. should be there after the
    <OPTION value='<c:out value="${localList[0]}"/>'

  • How can I select a radio button in a table regarding the data in the cells?

    Hi everyone
    This is the issue: I need to select the RadioButton which is in a table with data related to transfers in the cells next to it, so I need to select the correct radio regarding the data next to it.
    This is the whole process: First I go to the Add Recurring Transfer section and select the parameters of the transfer (Accounts, date, amount, months etc), then with VB code I capture those parameters from the page and store them into Global variables for further usage on my E-tester script.
    Right after that I need to select the radiobutton regarding the data of the transfer that I already created in order to delete it or modify it (Please see Attachment selectradio1.jpg)
    So How can I move along the table and compare each cell with the variables that I created with the transfer information, so when I finish comparing a row cell by cell and if all the comparison match well in that row, I could select the radiobutton of the row.
    Note: Second Attachment selectradio2.jpg shows the source code of the table...If you need more info please let me know
    Could you please help me with this problem?? I'm Kind of frustrated with this issue jejeje

    Here is an example. I uploaded mock html so that you can actually try this code. I think this does exactly what you are asking.
    Private Sub RSWVBAPage_afterPlay()
    Dim tbl As HTMLTable
    Dim tblRow As HTMLTableRow
    Dim tblCell As HTMLTableCell
    Dim strValue As String
    Dim rButton As HTMLInputElement
    ' ******** This would be your global variable. I put this so that values are seperated by a semicolin you can use what ever format works for you.
    strValue = "03/22/2008;03/22/2008;*************1977;*************1977;$25.25;Jan, Jun, Jul, Dec"
    ' Strip out the ; for inner text comparison
    strValue = Replace(strValue, ";", "")
    ' This will get the table but can be modifoed to be more specific
    Set tbl = RSWApp.om.FindElement(, "TABLE")
    ' This loops through all the rows in the table until a match to the strValue is found
    ' then clicks the radio button. Findelements allows you to specify a root element
    ' once the correct root row is found, FindElemets can get the correct radio button
    For Each tblRow In tbl.rows
      If tblRow.innerText = strValue Then
        Set rButton = RSWApp.om.FindElement("account", "INPUT", "NAME", , , tblRow)
         rButton.click
       End If
    Next
    End Sub
    I also uploaded the script I created. You should be able to run it and see how it works.
    This should get you going.

  • How can i open a PDF bank statement in numbers so that the rows and columns contain properly aligned data from statement?

    how can i open a PDF bank statement in "numbers" so that the rows and columns contain properly aligned data from statement?

    Numbers can store pdfs pages or clippings but does not directly open pdf files.  To get the bank statement into Numbers as a table I would open the bank statment in Preview (or Skim) or some pdf viewer.
    Then hold the option key while selecting a column of data.
    Then copy
    Then switch to numbers and paste the column into a table
    Then repeat for the other columns in the pdf document
    It would be easier (in my opinion) to download the QFX or CSV version from your bank

  • How to read data from select Options in another view without using context

    I have 2 views, one for selection screen and another for displaying result.
    In selection screen view I have define a select options with the help of webdynpro component.
    Now my object is display result in result view based on entry of selection screen.
    I don't want to do binding in context node, without that how I can read data of select option
    in result view?

    Solve by own.
    If I define the Select options in component controller, then it will be global in nature. so i can get the value of select options

  • Regarding Logical database and  select statement..

    Hi
    Experts.
    i would  like to  know the  diff b/w logical data base & select statement  while using report.
    wt is the use of logical databases in R/3. is there   any   advantage  used in the  reports.
    Thanks & Regards..
    Spandana.

    Dear Spandana,
      Go through the below description of LDB. I hope you wil get a fair amount of idea.
    SAP comes loaded with all the extras. Among the extras that are most helpful to IT managers are all the access routines needed to pull any business object that managers can think of out of SAP databases. However, SAP has not thought of everything where your particular applications are concerned. SAP organizes its standard database tables to service business units based on conventional business applications. Itu2019s likely your business requires something new, perhaps even something exotic. In that case, you will need to create a new database, using information from different places. Basically, you need a logical database. You need to create a virtual business data object repository consisting of a new kind of record or table that suits your purposes. In addition, the repository should be composed of information that is actually stored in a number of different locations, none of them necessarily logically associated with one another. Letu2019s take a closer look at creating logical databases.
    A case for a logical database
    Suppose my company manufactures widgets of the most obscure variety, and they are components of other widgets. I sell my widgets as raw material for the more sophisticated widgets built by others, but in some cases I actually partner with other manufacturers in creating yet another class of widget. Now, in my world, I consequently have customers who are also partners. I sell to them and I partner with them in manufacturing and distribution. Also, I need an application that uses both of these dual-use relationships.
    Essentially, I have a customer database and a partner database. Neither contains records that are structured to contain the identifying particulars of the other. Thus, I need a hybrid database that gives me tables detailing these hybrid relationships. What can I do? I can go the long way around and write a new database, pulling information from both and creating new objects with a customized program that I write by hand. However, this process is cumbersome and contains maintenance issues. On the other hand, I can use SAPu2019s logical database facility, create my logical database in a couple of minutes, and have no maintenance issues at all.
    Logical database structures
    There are three defining entities in an SAP logical database. You must be clear on all three in order to create and use one.
    u2022     Table structure: Your logical database includes data from specified tables in SAP. There is a hierarchy among these tables defined by their foreign keys (all known to SAP), and you are going to define a customized relationship between select tables. This structure is unique and must be defined and saved.
    u2022     Data selection: You may not want or need every item in the referenced tables that contributes to your customized database. There is a selection screen that permits you to pick and choose.
    u2022     Database access programming: Once youu2019ve defined your logical database, SAP will generate the access subroutines needed to pull the data in the way you want it pulled.
    Creating your own logical database
    ABAP/4 (Advanced Business Application Programming language, version 4) is the language created by SAP for implementation and customization of its R/3 system. ABAP/4 comes loaded with many predefined logical databases that can construct and table just about any conventional business objects you might need in any canned SAP application. However, you can also create your own logical databases to construct any custom objects you care to define, as your application requires in ABAP/4. Hereu2019s a step-by-step guide:
    1.     Call up transaction SLDB (or transaction SE36). The path you want is Tools | ABAP Workbench | Development | Programming Environment | Logical Databases. This screen is called Logical Database Builder.
    2.     Enter an appropriate name in the logical database name field. You have three options on this screen: Create, Display, and Change. Choose Create.
    3.     Youu2019ll be prompted for a short text description of your new logical database. Enter one. Youu2019ll then be prompted to specify a development class.
    4.     Now comes the fun part! You must specify a root node, or a parent table, as the basis of your logical database structure. You can now place subsequent tables under the root table as needed to assemble the data object you want. You can access this tree from this point forward, to add additional tables, by selecting that root node and following the path Edit | Node | Create. Once youu2019ve saved the structure you define in this step, the system will generate the programming necessary to access your logical database. The best part is you donu2019t have to write a single line of code.
    Watch out!
    The use of very large tables will degrade the performance of a logical database, so be aware of that trade-off. Remember that some tables in SAP are very complex, so they will be problematic in any user-defined logical database.
    Declaring a logical database
    Hereu2019s another surprising feature of logical databases: You do not assign them in your ABAP/4 Code. Instead, the system requires that you specify logical databases as attributes. So when you are creating a report, have your logical database identifier (the name you gave it) on hand when you are defining its attributes on the Program Attributes screen. The Attributes section of the screen (the lower half) will include a Logical database field, where you can declare your logical database.
    Logical databases for increasing efficiency
    Why else would you want to create a logical database? Consider that the logical databases already available to you begin with a root node and proceed downward from there. If the data object you wish to construct consists of items that are all below the root node, you can use an existing logical database program to extract the data, then trim away what you donu2019t want using SELECT statementsu2014or you can increase the speed of the logical database program considerably by redefining the logical database for your object and starting with a table down in the chain. Either way, youu2019ll eliminate a great deal of overhead.

  • How to use 2 Dropdown box in webapplication for date range selection

    Dear all,
    I am working on a report that will show 2 drop down boxes. These should be used as a date range.
    This works fine if I use 2 variables as a date range on 0CALYEAR. However I dont want the user to fill in the dates but selecting the dates with 2 drop down boxes.
    I cannot manage to get this to work. I saw some comments about user exits in the forum but I cannot figure it out if there is an easier way.
    Could you give me an idea of what to do?
    Thanks a lot,
    Andreas

    Hi,
    If you want the user to select the date directly rather than entering, you need not to have a dropdown menu in WAD. Directly go to the query which you have selected for the object in WAD, there create a variable with calendar. Put it mandatory, so that the user selection of the date will be mandatory. The variable will be automatically be available when you execute the template inn the browser.
    Assign points if this helps u.

  • Query regarding the data type for fetcing records from multiple ODS tables

    hey guys;
    i have a query regarding the data type for fetcing records from multiple ODS tables.
    if i have 2 table with a same column name then in the datatype under parent row node i cant add 2 nodes with the same name.
    can any one help with some suggestion.

    Hi Mudit,
    One option would be to go as mentioned by Padamja , prefxing the table name to the column name or another would be to use the AS keyoword in your SQL statement.
    AS is used to rename the column name when data is being selected from your DB.
    So, the query  Select ename as empname from emptable will return the data with column name as empname.

  • How do I align data within a column?

    In the newly updated Numbers (Mac), I cannot find how to align data within a column.

  • Focus() call on a select tag seems to be causing problems

    I have a reasonably complicated web site with dynamically created, absolutely positioned, overlapping divs with form elements contained within them.
    Starting with Firefox 4 and in Firefox 5, clicking on a dropdown list (<select>) tag can cause fragments of text from some of the "bottom" (i.e. not visible) divs to appear within the "top" (i.e. visible) div.
    I can make this problem go away by setting the onmousedown handler (not previously set) for the select tag to a dummy event handler which terminates the event. I can force it to happen again either by allowing the event to bubble up or by explicitly calling .focus(). Also, causing any part of the screen to refresh (such as writing to the DOM) will cause the fragments of text to disappear and the problem does not then reoccur with the given <select> tag.
    This issue does not arise in IE 8 / 9, Opera 10 / 11 or Chrome.
    Is this a known issue? If it is the .focus() call which is causing the problem and given that that is native code, is there a workaround other than what I have done?

    Took a look at the SQL Navigator. The "DB Navigator" (the navigation tree on the left with all the DB objects in it) shows the right precision and scale of every column, whereas the "columns" tab that appears when you >double click the view in the DB navigator always shows "number(0,0)". So I consider this a bug of SQL Navigator, but don´t believe it has anything to do with your problem.Yup, you're absolitely right. Not impreseed with SQL navigator!!!
    Just a thought: Could it be that some restrictions concerning the db user (dunno, perhaps even FGAC?) prevents that specific data to be shown? Do you connect in SQL Navigator as the same user as with the other >applications?Nice idea but I'm using the same user account.
    My background is in SQL Server (don't hold it against me :) ) and that has a tool called Profiler than enables one to capture the query being executed against the database engine. Does Oracle have anything similar? It might be useful to test whether the driver does something funky to the query that might manifest itself in what I'm seeing!

    Error is:
    i.e
    Invalid tag nesting configuration.
    A query driven CFOUTPUT tag is nested inside a CFOUTPUT tag
    that also has a QUERY= attribute. This is not allowed. Nesting
    these tags implies that you want to use grouped processing.
    However, only the top-level tag can specify the query that drives
    the processing.
    Can anybody help me out on this ..

  • Set selected in netui:select tag

    Hi, all
    I wonder how to set the selected item after come back from server. I have
    --- jsp
    <netui:select dataSource="{actionForm.personStr}" optionsDataSource="{actionForm.personOptionsHashMap}" defaultValue="-- select one --">
    --- server (.jpf)
    form.setPersonStr(form.getPersonStr());
    form.setPersonOptionsHashMap(hashMap);
    So when screen come back, it has selected duplicated at bottom of the selection. Is there a way like normal html select behavior ?
    Thanks inadvance for any inputs.

    Murthy,
    Unfortunately, though a very reasonable requirement, there is no option for
    placing the default item.

    Hi,
    I am using <netui:select dataSource="{actionForm.xyz}" defaultValue="Any"optionsDataSource="{actionForm.someMap}"
    />
    Now I am getting the values from database to populate the dropdown usingthe optionsDataSource.
    As I am using the defaultValue, it is being added to the end of thedropdown and
    selected by default when I a mopening the page on browser.
    In my dropdown, the values are as follows:
    apple
    orange
    banana
    Any
    Now my requirement is, the defaultValue, Any, must be there at the top ofthe
    list instead at the bottom of thge dropdown values. i.e., In the abovelist, "Any"
    must be above apple option.
    How can I achieve this using netui:select tag?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Murthy
