Regarding Business Accelerators on HANA

Hi All,
I have the below queries regarding Business Accelerators on HANA, kindly assist -
1. Can Business Accelerators be used to improve the performance of OLTP transactions in ECC ?
2. Is there a limitation on updates to the tables while they are being read ?
Thanks.

Thanks Thomas.
Are there any known limitations of using Business Accelerators and HANA as secondary DB. Please advise. Thanks.

  • Performance of Sales order creation on Business Suite on HANA

    Hi,
I understand that HANA column tables are read and insert optimized. I would like get some clarification on the following scenario.
Assume that in the ECC (non HANA DB) the sales order creation process is taking few hours to complete due to the sheer number of line items and associated bill of materials, serial numbers etc. If the same process is running on the Business suite on HANA system will there be any considerable performance improvement (because HANA column tables are insert optimized)?
Thanks for your help on this.
    Thanks
    Vinod

    Yes Vinod,
    that is the general idea.
For more details please have a look at Hasso Plattner's latest book A Course in In-Memory Data Management: The Inner Mechanics of In-Memory Databases.
R/3 updates the row table based on V1 or V2 priorities and writes the changes to the change log tables in the background.
With HANA application we can eliminate the need for the change log tables and table locking, by inserting the changes for particular fields into the columnar tables of the application with a time stamp immediately, and therefore also enabling real-time reporting.
For traditional RDBMS based applications the notion was that the faster read from the row tables which only hold the latest updates justifies the update of the changelog tables. In order to optimize this update process required by the traditional RDBMS-based systems, a single sales document was split into many smaller tables, like for example header table VBAK and item table VBAP and separate status tables for these header and items, which also made it more challenging to build reports on the complex set of individual tables.
Indices and aggregates could be more easily build from the single row records, but on the flipside after each update to the row table, the indices and aggregates needed to be re-build or scheduled for rebuild at a later point in time. Not only the application-build index tables and aggregates, but also the secondary index tables created by the DBA tuning efforts.
Overall tons of overhead especially for business processes with a many updates like sales order re-scheduling based on MRP runs.
With HANA this is no longer necessary as the latest information and the time travel from the columnar store can be accessed instantaneously across all inserts and therefore eliminates the need for any overhead of the index and aggregates as well as the changelog tables. In addition the split of document information into many smaller tables can now be avoided, so that we might not see any header tables and their dependent tables anymore.
We will provide more updates as they become available in the S/4 SAP S/4 Business Suite on SAP HANA (FAQ)
    Thank you

  • SAP Business One for HANA - No Harware key

    Hi,
I've installed SAP Business One for HANA PL11 successfully but when i try to install sap b1 client on windows client there's an error during the installation of DI API (hanadb client installed already). I also noticed that there's no hardware key generated on the license control center.
    Please help.
    Thanks

    Hi Norman
    Thanks for your reply.
I have installed (and reinstalled!) the 32 bit hdbclient (build 69) at /usr/sap/hdbclient32 and rebooted but I still don't get a hardware key.  I noticed you mention that you'd executed libB1_LicenseEngine.so manually.  Is that correct? Is this something that you can guide me to?
    Thanks

  • Query regarding Business Partner Address in SAP B1?

    Hi Friends,
WHile i extract SAP datas for my ETL Product,I found some issues..Hereby i m telling the steps to reproduce that in Demo database of OEC Computers..
1.Open SAP B1 Business Partner data
    2.Open C40001 Business partner data..
3.Open Addresses tab of that Business partner
4.Click Bill to Address..And u can c no datas is present for that BP 'C40001'.
5.And Open OCRD in Sql Server.. And u can c Address as      '208 Hollywood Av'and ZipCode as '28989'.And it's present in XML of that Business Partner data but not shown in UI in Address tab..
6.Where these datas are present in Business Partner UI..How can i view those in UI?
Please give me a clear information for that..
    Thanks in Advance
    regards
    Sooriyakala.P

    Hi Sooriya,
I was able to reproduce the issue in our demo database.
This is most likely just an anomaly in that specific database, maybe created by manipulating the database directly.
The actual data of the BP Addresses grid comes from CRD1. The third shipping address for BP 'C40001' actually seems to have the same information as in OCRD.Address.
The Address field in OCRD is just a convenience shortcut that should duplicate whatever is written to the single billto address for that customer. You're right that the field should be empty as there are no billto address rows in CRD1 for that customer.
I'm pretty sure you will not be able to reproduce this in a real live database. However, there are other issues to watch out for with BP addresses. For instance with SBO 2004, there is a issue regarding updating the name of a billto address. If you do it with DI API (or with DTW), you will end up with two billing addresses. This cannot be done in the client, as it is against the validation rules. The nasty part is that DI API does not currently support removal of BP addresses. It's no fun doing it manually for 4000 customers

  • Regarding Business Process

    Hello Experts,
following is my brief Business process.
1)suppose  first i take 1000/- advance from customer.
    2) customer supplies me raw material . in this case  as a consignee  i take only Excise Credit, suppose it may be 1500/-.
No bill to customer for raw material.
    3)  After production i will apply only labor charges to customer & the finished product is excisable. Now while adding delivery document system should generate alert if my debit is greater than  (Advance+Credit) also i should know how much advance i have to taken from the customer.
    4) after receiving the difference amount from customer ,through down payment document, system should permit me to add Delivery document.
i want to map this business process in SAP B1 ,can anyone give me such query?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rishikesh.

    Hello,
    1.
First Make Vendor and Customer Code for Same Name. in the master there should be filed for identification that Party has both code(Vendor and Customer)
Because this option will help you when you will make a query .
    2.
When you will receive material (GRPO) then select check box Tax only(This Tax Only is not visible then goto form setting and make visible and editable).
Now when user will make GRPO then ,any account entries does not hit in backend.
copy to incomming exice invoice and make A/P invoice then Vendor account show only tax amount(BEDCESSHCESS+VAT/CST(VAT / CST optional))
Here Party balace show only tax amount.
    3.
Receive payment on account from the customer from incomming payment.
First Check these three step in system and discuss with client that this is only way in SAP and then goto 4 Step
    4.
In the next step make a SP notification using with identification  which i have explain in 1 step .
and the logic will based on amount in and out for both Code. if diffirence is negative then block other wise not block.
    Note:-
Have you any idea SP Notification ?
if no then i will guide you.
May it will help you. til now i dont have go through this senario but it is good..
    Thanks

  • Regarding Business object roles in CRM

    Hello friends,
What are the business object roles in CRM ?can any one can explain about this.
    Regards,
    Rajasekhar.

    Hi Rajasekhar,
Did you mean "business roles" ?
The concept of business roles is more used and important in WebUI. SAP CRM business roles are used to package the main business content needed to perform a specific job function. Defining a role influences the complete content visible to a user assigned to this role.
Some examples of standard roles are:
    SALESPRO (Sales Professional)
    SERVICEPRO (Service Professional)
    IC_AGENT & IC_MANAGER (Standard Interaction Center Agent & Manager)
Hope this is what you are looking for.

    Hi,
If I updated the business rule by updating any parameter in the Dev environment, do I need to export this business rule into Prod environment or Can I directly change the code in the production environment.
    Please advice me on this.
    Regards,
    Upendra.

    John:
Thanks alot for your quick response. And I have very silly question here. I am not sure how to import the file from dev to production.
I checked in the EAS console, there is Export option is there. After saving that rules in xml format, how to import into prod environment. I know, this is a simple question but as I don't know about this, this being a major question for me.
    Thanks,
