Regarding Hierarchy in Webi

Hi I have a concern , how to show hierarchy in Webi. My Object has 10 Levels , so i have L00 - L10 Objects.
my want to view hierarchies lIke - if user click on L00 then in the next column i have L01 , Means Dynamic Column Genration , Once i click on L02 it must show L03 in the Next Column ....
Kind of a look and feel of Bex Itself. Any Suggestion how to achieve this.

I have tried hierarchy fold and unfold option , but its not much user friendly , as we need to fetch all the levels in a report , becasue of which the width of the report become very large.
Drill option will drill the level in same column , i want the next level to be in next column.
Can anyone plz suggest me more realstic solution from the implementation prospect. Or any other way to represent the hierarchy in webi which is much user friendly and you have implemented for Client and he is Happy

Hi,
the Fold / Unfold is the closest to what you looking for. Keep in mind that in case hierarchical reporting is a strong requirement you might want to use BEx Analyzer or Pioneer when it available.

How to integrate BW Hierarchy into Webi?

I need to create a report based on 0FIGL_V10_Q0001 in Webi and this query has a hierarchy and i have created the hierarchy from the designer itself. In webi, when i tried to pull 1 of the hierarchy dimension with key figure, it shows no data but if i remove the key figure i can view the information. May i know what went wrong with it or do you have a details on how to integrate BW hierarchy into Webi?

Drag and drop option for hierarchy through Web Template

Hi All,
I have 2 hierarchies in one report. For example Product Hierarchy and Customer hierarchy. I would like to have an option in query where I can select the node from each hierarchy and the report is displayed only for the selected node/nodes. I am using Web Template. I used "Hierarchy filter" web item and was able to achieve this. But I would like to have a drag and drop option.
I mean when I use Hierarchy filter web item, I have to select the particular node in the hierarchy. and then the report (Web Item - Table) is displayed based on the selection. But I would like to drag the node from the hierarchy and drop it to the report (Web Item - Table) and the report is displayed for the selected hierarchy node.
Is this possible? How? Do I have to write any Java code or we can achieve this with BI Standard functionality.

This is not possible using Standard BI web functionality.
If you are an expert with JavaScript and BI Web APIs you can probably write JS code to do this.

BW Hierarchy in WebI report: strange behaviour

Hi experts,
I faced with an (apparently) strange WebI behaviour.
I'm working with SAP BW 7.0 and BO XI 3.1 SP 2.
I have a universe built on a BEx query and the BEx query is built on a multiprovider (with 2 infoCubes inside).
The universe maps a BW hierarchy (ex. H) along with other object (ex. A and B).
In WebI report all works fine if I got only hierarchy levels (in drill mode) and a measure.
Adding the A characteristic, A values seems to be mapped in the hierarchy characteristic while A values are empty.
Adding the B characteristic, both B and H are empty.
Removing hierarchy objects from the report, A and measure works fine.
B and measure works fine.
BEx query works fine.
Does anyone has ever faced with this kind of problem?
Any help would be appreciated

Hi,
There is a mechanism called "flattening" which transposes OLAP DataSet into an XML stream 'rowset' - this is part of the MDX interface of BW, and is most problematic.
the ultimate proof is to enable the MDA.log , capture the MDX SELECT statement, and Executing it in transaction MDXTEST in BW. There are 3 execution modes: multidim, flattening, xml - there has to be exact parity in the ouput between the 3 modes, otherwise you have a problem
You'll probably find that the query syntax Runs correctly, but perhaps the data problem is also seen in the BW back-end ?

and ensure that you have the Related Corrections implemented

Integrate BW Hierarchy into Webi

Hello Everyone,
We have a query with a hierarchy and it´s used into Web Intelligence. When i run the query in BW it works fine, but when i run the query by the Web Intelligence it shows no Data. If I remove the hierarchy from the query, the WEBI works fine as well, so with that i guess the problem is the hierarchy.
Do you have any suggestion about this issue ?
We are on XI 3.1 SP3.

I do have hierarchies in the BO coming from BW. But didn't encountered any such issue. But here are some points that you
can check..
Make sure the hierarchy is activated in BW?
In BEx you have option called "Expand to Level", value is selected depending on the no. of levels.
You are not getting the partial results on BO side.
Also try to execute the query on BO with only single hierarchy level each time to make sure that the problem is with hierarchy.

Usually web service datasources load into a PSA. and hierarchies are loaded using IDoc. You could however load the data from the web service into another infoobject / DSO and create a custom hierarchy datasource . The procedure for the same - I came across something like this in ABAP for BW ( SAP Press ) ... do not have it now but it can be done...

         I m working on a Upgrade study from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 for Web Templates,web items and java scripts.
Below is the scenario of the client system:
New web templates are created from the 6 master web templates available for publishing to a custom Portal (created using BSP and hosted on the WAS). TOOLBAR and FOOTER are custom web templates used in all Master Templates and contain various JavaScript functions and footer code respectively.
TOOLBAR provides the Toolbar, header and buttons functionalities in the Master Templates via the contained Javascript functions. FOOTER displays the date and time of issue as well the logged in user.
FOOTER1 and FOOTER2 are web items derived from FOOTER web template. They have different set of web item properties and are used to create web templates used through the custom Portal.
It is observed from BW Tables that out of 100 unique Web Templates available in the system, 90 are using TOOLBAR template and 95 are using FOOTER template.
No external Javascript .js files are used in the Web templates. Most of the Javascript functionality is contained in TOOLBAR and no other custom javascript in master templates. However, there are some derived web templates where custom javascript is contained.
Following is the process to create custom Web Templates in development server that are eventually transported to QA and Production:
1)     The appropriate master template is identified and saved with new name in developer role.
2)     Dataprovider is added to corresponding web items.
3)     From the library, properties are transferred from master template to the custom template.
4)     Report title is added in HTML tab.
5)     No changes are needed in the Web Templates Properties except change of value in Show Jump Target in field to the portal Frame ConPortal or _self in case RRI is to be used.
6)     Some properties like Title, Width in Pixel, Affected Data Provider, etc. needs to be adjusted. Changes can be done to web items seen in Overview tab except the FOOTER and TOOLBAR web items. These web items are saved as reusable components in Library.
7)     After all the changes the web template created is transported from development server.
To summarize, all master data for creation of web templates like reusable master templates, web items in library, web templates containing Javascript code are stored in dev. server. Custom web templates created from these are transported.
I want to validate the sequence of migration as below:
Following sequence has to be followed for the Web Templates and Queries Migration in development BI 7.0 Server:
1)     Migrate the Individual BEx Queries first and perform functional testing.
2)     Migrate the TOOLBAR template manually (create as new in BI 7.0 Toolset) and FOOTER template automatically (using Migration Tool).
3)     Manually migrate the JavaScript code in TOOLBAR. Please refer to section ..for more details.
4)     Migrate the library of reusable web items, if any.
      (What to do if web item is custom or is not supported in BI 7.0)
5)     Migrate the Master Web Templates manually (create as new in BI 7.0 Toolset) and automatically (wherever possible) and perform functional testing.
6)     Migrate the custom web templates automatically (wherever possible) and manually, if automatic migration is not possible. Perform functional testing and data provider binding.
7)     Perform jump target binding wherever applicable.
8)     Transport custom templates, TOOLBAR and FOOTER to QA and Production subsequently.
Also i have the following questions:
1. How to migrate functionalities accessed thru web templates like jump queries, general navigation blocks with filter, table interface, and are data providers automatically linked to web items or have to be done manually post migration.
2. Do we need to migrate the library of reusable web items also.
3. After migrating the master web templates and javascript containing templates to BI 7.0, can we migrate automatically the custom webtemplates derived from master templates and containing the custom javascript that is now avaialbe in BI 7.0, will they pick up the custom code automatically.

Integrating OM/PA to use as target group hierarchy for web survey

I am planning to use the existing PA and OM structure from R/3 system to be use as the Recipients(Target Group Hierarchy)of the Web Survey/Questionnaire.
Need anyone's advice on how to go about the connection (betw. R/3 and SEM) whether to use RFC or ALE?
Also, I noticed there are 2 transactions to create Web Survey. SURVEY and USUR0. I have been using SURVEY to work on. When does USUR0 is to be used?

I know this question was done long time ago. I am new with surveys.
Did anyone solved the issue? I am facing with the same problem.
I have create by "ubds" transaction the entry for the aplication "UWS_SURVEY_FORM_SERVICE" and the class.
Then in the class via se24, I have created several methods.
When I choose extras -> Target group herarchy-> Import from aplication appears: "No suitable methods were found" .
I dont know how to do it, maybe is because the name of the method is wrong. Should this have any special name?

Question regarding the default web template for queries

Hello,
I am trying to learn the default web template that is using for queries:
0QUERY_TEMPLATE_BROADCASTING70
I see that it's <bi:QUERY value="" /> is empty which is logic since the query will be inserted on runtime. My question is, where in the web template does it say that? I can't see any parameter it expects to get with the query's technical name not at the webtemplate code nor at the URL...

Roy,
I think you are mixing things. The template you are mentioning is used for queries that are executed from the query designer. It's not a web template as any other one you create for your users. So, this web template has some parts in it's code that works with the query execution. When you run a query, the system takes the query definition (made in QD) and executes it with the web template indicated for the query. This determination is made by the program that is used to run queries. You can try using RSRT transaction to debug and check how this it's done. If you want to change the default web template used by query designer to run the queries, you should do it copying any standard template, like the one you mentioned. If you don't do it, you won't get the information correct.

Is it possible to view technical name as well.

1>Can we create multiple hierarchy's for single dimensional table.(if possible with scenario)
2>Can we create single hierarchy for multiple dimensional tables.(if possible with scenario)
3>what is the use of NUMBER of elements at this level on which basis it is showing 1 in the hierarchy.
4>Why we have to enable the chronological key when we are using time series functions.
5>What is the use of grand total level in the hierarchy.

I have created an application which is running fine on local system.
But when i deployed this application on web portal following error is raising

I still confused about if you are working in WebCenter Portal App or WebCenter Spaces... and if you don't explain exactly if you are working with WebCenter Portal Application Framework or WebCenter Spaces is too hard to me help you.
Are you following next steps (they are basic steps without details about how to work with Portal / Spaces):
Steps that you must to follow if you are working with WebCenter Portal App Framework:
- Build & Test your Bounded Task Flows in your Fusion Web Application.
- Deploy it as ADF JAR library.
- In your WebCenter Portal Application, add ADF JAR Library.
- Set correct permissions in jazn-data.xml.
- Add your Task Flows to your Resource Catalog.
- If you deploy your WebCenter Portal App, please create a Custom Managed Node in WebLogic with RCU por your Portal App. Please don't use WC_SPACES for Framework Portal Applications, this Node is for WebCenter Spaces App.
- Now in your WebCenter Portal App you can select and use your Task Flow in your pages.
Steps if you are working with WebCenter Portal : Spaces:
- Build & Test your Bounded Task Flows in your Fusion Web Application.
- Create an ADF JAR Library from it.
- Add your ADF JAR LIbrary to a Project that are going to be deployed as "Shared Lib".
- In project DesignWebCenterSpaces (previously configured to work with Spaces), change weblogic.xml to point your shared lib.
- Redeploy Spaces with ANT-Scripts provided with DesignWebCenterSpaces.
- In Catalog Registry, add Task Flows from libraries and select your Bounded Task Flow.
- Now you can add your Task Flow.

Dot charcter in technical name of the BW hierarchy causes WebI to fail

Hi,
I have a WebI report based on a BEx query. The BEx query has a mandatory hierarchy variable. The hierarchy has "." dot character in its technical name. The dot character is used to distinguish 2010 and 2010 profit center hierarchies.
When a universe is generated on this BEx query, the profit center objects have select staments as
[!V000002_].1012_].[LEVEL00]
. I think
].1012
causes parsing to fail. Also, I get the "Supplied XML is not valid" error while drilling down the hierarchy in the Webi prompt.
I manually replaced the string "].1012]" with "]" in the Universe but it did not help. I still get the error in the Webi prompt.
I came across the note 1447838. However, it suggests to install FixPack 2.7 to get rid of the above behavior. However, I am already on BI XI 3.1 SP3 and I think I should already have fixpack 2.7.
Please let me know if anyone has any idea on this issue. Of course, I can look at the possibility of using some other character for distingusing between the hierarchies but curious to know if there is any solution.
Environment:
BOE XI 3.1 SP3
SAP BW 7.01
BO-SAP Integration Kit SP3
Universe connection authetication - SSO

I upgraded BOE to SP4 but still no luck.
SP4 includes FixPack 3.1 and FixPack3.1 has a fix for ADAPT01383387 (SAP Note 1447838).
