Regarding Load data from one cube to other cube in BW 3.X

Hello Experts,
Here is my scenario. I have one cube say c1 from which i need to transfer data into the cube say c2 which has material code <> blank and sales quantity is 0 . We are using BW 3.x.
Now how do i do that.

you have to write the below code in the start routine of your update rule.
DELETE DATA_PACKAGE WHERE MATERIAL IS INITIAL AND SALES_QUANTITY NE 0.
This code will delete the records where material is blank and sales quantity not equal to zero.
So at the end of the start routine, you will get only those records with material not blank and sales quanity equal to 0.

Loading Data from one Cube into another Cube

Hi Guys,
I am trying to load data from one cube A to another cube B. Cube A has data around 200,000 records. I generate export datasource on Cube A. Replicated the datasource and created InfoSource and activated it.
I created update rules for Cube B selecting Source as Cube A. I do have a start routine to duplicate records in Cube A. Now when I schedule load,
It stops at Processing Datapacket and says no data. Is there something wrong with the update routine or is there any other way to load form cube to cube in a simpler way?

Less number of Records while loading data from one cube to another

Hi,
We are in the process of doing major changes in the existing InfoCube.
Before making any changes, we had planned to make a copy of the cube with data.
For this we did the following steps :
1. Created the new cube from the original cube.
2. Generated Datasource on the Orignal cube.
3. Made a update rule on the new cube by selecting the Orinal cube.
4. Made a InfoPack on Infosouce which got created with 8<original cube>.
5. Uploaded the data into the new cube.
We have uploaded the data successfully from the original cube to the new cube.
However, New cube shows less number of records as compared to the original cube.
But the query is showing the same figures from both the cubes.
Can anyone please advise what could be the reason for this less number of records and how the figures are showing same when we run the query from both the cubes.

Hi Ramesh,
this is possible coz when u have loaded yr original cube, it may be loaded on daily/weekly basis. so in the cube there are many requests. Also if in the same request, if there are two records with same dimension keys ther are automatically added aggregating them.
if req 1 has following records
cust mat amt
1      1     100
1      1       50
it will add
1      1     150
and if the records are seperated by different req, then both will b added individually.
therefore when u r loading yr new cube from original cube, all records that has same dimension key gets aggregated coz they are loaded into single request. so it showing less no of records as added.

Hi,
Trying to copy the data from cube A to cube B...however after creating export data source(8A) on cube A, unable to find the infosource 8A.
Do someone have any idea..... or I'm missing some steps?

Hi Amit,
goto transaction sbiw in your BW system. Open 'Business Content DataSources' and select 'activate application component hierarchy'. After that you can additionally choose 'activate business content datasources'. Then goto rsa1->source systems. Right click on your source system (BW itself) and replicate the datasources. After that you should be able to see the application component DM in rsa1->infoSources. In application DM you should see all 8... infoSources and dataSources. If not, you should choose 'Settings->Display generated objects' from the top menu as already suggested.

Dtp error when loading data from one cube to another cube?

it seems strange that when I tick the some characteristics as navigational attributes in the cube , the error occurs during the execution of the DTP:error while updating to target Z* (Cube name ).
once i turn the flag off , no error appear. could anyone give me a clue ?

Hi,
When u make changes in the cube u need to make necessary changes in Transformation and activate the DTP.The checking of Navigational attributes in cube will appear in u r transformation as new fields where u need to create a mapping for them and then activate, also activate your DTP and then load the data. This should resolve your issue.

I am getting an error when using extractor checker for datamart data source. The cube in question is compressed. this is what i get when i view the logs.
SQL Error: 575-
SQL0575N View or materialized query table "SAPBWP./BIC/VZTCOOMC02F" cannot be used because.

Rememberme -
No, the SAP_FACTVIEWS_RECREATE program cannot and will not uncompress the data. A fact view exists for every infocube which combines the E and F fact tables. You can see this view using SE11 -> View -> /bic/vxxxxf (where xxxxx is your infocube tech name). When you run this program this view is dropped and recreated thus eliminating any incosistencies that lead to the error posted in this thread.

Dump while loading data from 1 cube to other cube

Hi,
We created a direct mapping between 2 cubes ( no start/end routines, formula exist in the mapping). Strange part is while I am loading data from one cube to other cube all data packages executing successfully only last data package giving dump with ITAB_DUPLICATE_KEY. This is in our QA system. But it is working/loading correctly in DEV.

This can occur when a BW client has many different source systems, unused objects still remains, creating a duplicate entry in RSISOSMAP table.

Move data from one cube to another cube

Hi,
I am on BW 3.5 and I have moved the data from one cube to another cube and found that the number of records in the original cube does not match to the newly created cube. for eg. if the original cube contains 8,549 records then the back up cube contains 7,379 records.
Please help me on what I need to look on and if in case the records are getting aggregated then how do I check the aggregating record.

Dear tyson m ,
check with any update rules in ur transfer.If so check in it.
Just go through these methods for making transfer from one cube to another cube fully without missing data.
Update rules method
if it's updated from ods, you can create update rules for cube2 and update from ods
or you can try datamart scenario
cube1 right click 'generate export datasource'
create update rules for cube2, assign with cube1
rsa1->source system->bw myself, right click 'replicate datasource'
rsa1-> infosource -> search 8cube1 name
(if not get, try right click root note 'infosource'->insert lost node(s)
from that infosource, you will find assigned with datasource, right click and 'create infopackage', schedule and run.
Copy from
While creating the new cube give the cube name in the "Copy from" section. It would copy all the characteristics and Key figures. It would even copy the dimensions and Navigational attributes
Another option is:
The steps for copying the contents of one cube to another:
1. Go to Manage -> Recontruct of the new cube.
2. Select the "selection button"(red , yellow, blue diamond button).
3.In the selection screen you can give the technical name of the old cube, requests ids you want to load, from & to date.
4.Execute and the new cube would be loaded.
Its all that easy!!!!!!

Load data from one Application to another in BPC NW 7.5

I have a requirement to load data from One application to another application.
eg. HR Plannning to CostCenter Planning.
I am aware of a method to load data using transformation file mapping source and target dimensions and run DM package and this works fine.
However, the challenge is if i try to automate this process then i will have to hardcode the application tech name and save as variant to use that in process chain. Now, if i hardcode the tech name of the application then it might happen that during full optimization the tech name might change and the automation load will fail.
so how to handle this situation? any standard practices available?

Exactly. The main problem is that there is no statement to transfer the data. Please take a look at the below link from help.sap:

Since the structure of both the applications is same, you dont require add_dim or rename_dim, etc. However, you definitely need the when statement.
If you want to transfer all the records, then you can have something like
*WHEN ACCOUNT
*IS *
*REC(EXPRESSION = %VALUE%)
*ENDWHEN

1) The best is to do the test. In my case, my customer was just doing this transfer (in full) to perform tests on the BEX reportings. Actually, they never raised any issue regarding document number when they did additional postings in test system... I would also say that during the transfer, the number counter in Qual gets not synchronized with the one in Prod. So, I think the system will just take the next number available in Qual. Should not be an issue.
2) As explained in answer 1), in my case, the purpose was not to perform data migration from one system to the other one. Thus, my customer never performed a subsequent consolidation in the target system. But, basically, the transfer copies all data : posting levels 00 to 30, for all periods you have selected + Additional financial data and sequence of activities. Thus, for me, everyhting is available in the target system, including COI documents. In other words, the "picture" regarding the data should be exactly the same between both system. The only thing you need to pay attention to is the customizing : it must be the same in Qual and Prod (example : date of acquisition and divestiture, structure of the group, etc...).
Another very important thing, is that your export data source must not be enriched due to the BCS Delta load scenario. If it is the case, the system will write the consolidation logic (i-e the consolidation group + reporting mode) when transferring the data from the source Real Time Infocube to the Target Real time infocube, which will lead to inconsistent data in the target system.

Think in this way,
To load the data fro any source we need datasource Ok. You can genare Export data source for Cube in APO, then use that datasource for BW extraction, try like this. I think it will work, in my case I'm directly loading data from APO to BW using the DataSource sthat are genaraed on Planning Area.
Why you need to take data from APO cube?. Is there any condition for that?. If it is not mandatory, you can use the dame datasource and load the data to BW, if they have any conditions while loading the data from APO to APO cube, they you try check wherther it is possible in BW or not. If possible then you use DataSource and do the same calculation in BW directly.

Automatically trigger the event to load data from Planning cube to Standard Cube

Hello,
We have a below set up in our system..
1. A Planning BEx query using which user makes certain entries and writes back data to the planning cube.
2. An actual reporting cube which gets data from the planning cube above.
Now, what we want to do is to automate the data load from Planning cube to Reporting cube.
This involves 2 things..
1. Change the setting " Change real time load behaviour " of the planing cube to Planning.
2. Trigger the DTP which loads data from Planning cube to reporting cube.
We want to automate the above two steps...
I have tried few things to achieve the same..
1. Created an event in SM64,
2. In the Planning cube "Manage" Screen, clicked on "Subsequent Processing" and provided the event details. ( Not sure if its the correct place to provide the event detail ).
3. Wrote a ABAP program which changes the setting of the planning cube ( " Change real time load behaviour " to Loading )
4. Created a process chain, where we have used the event as a start variant, used the ABAP program as a next step, DTP run as the last step..
This i hoped, would trigger the event as soon as a new request comes and sits in planning cube, which in turn would trigger the process chain which would load the data from Planning cube to reporting cube..
This is not working. I dont think the event is triggering, and even if does i am not sure whether it will start the process chain automatically. Any ideas please ?

Load data from an infocube into other infocube

Hi guys....i try to load data from an infocube to other infocube.....i generated the infosource for export without problems i can visulize the datasource in my BW System assigned well...but how i can run the extraction from one infocube into the other?
I view that in ODSs there's an option to run load of data into datatargets but in the infocube i can´t find this option......
is there anything else to do?

The Infosurce and Datasource was linked automatically i can see this in Source System Myself but i can´t see it in Infosources Tab and i can´t create a Infopackage....that´s my problem
