Regarding www content crawler

Hi,
I need your help in troubleshooting the issue related to www crawler that i have set up on my WCI installation. I have not been able to successfully run the www crawler & import searched content from external websites into WCI Knowledge Directory. It logs the exception as described below.
Details of the setup:

With the earlier version ALUI 6.5, the crawler used to work just fine. Any pointers/suggestions on this issue will be greatly appreciated.

I am using a proxy server to connect to internet. Proxy configuration is already done at content source level. The details of the 'proxy server configuration' are:
Address:<proxyservername> Port: 8080
User name: <proxyuser>
Password: <proxypassword>

Creating a Content Crawler under Share Point Console in ALUI

I am getting an unauthorised access when i try to create a content crawler within a ALUI. The URL is

How ever when i try with a normal browser i do have access to the same.
The above URL when i cut it to https://ts3apa.accenture.com with the option of depth of crawl to the selected site only it was working out fine from ALUI content crawler.

is the user configured for the crawler is added to 'Log on as a batch job' and 'Log on as a service' policies.

Windows File CS Content Crawler - How to change crawl method?

Hi,
I have encountered an odd issue. I am using a Windows File CS Content Crawler to pull in some PDF files from a remote folder.
However I noticed the Windows File CS Content Crawler is crawling in the document title rather than the actual PDF filename.
I have checked the admin screens and I cannot find any way to tell my Windows File CS Content Crawler portlet to grab filenames and use these as the file display name when crawled in.
The business clients do not use the document title and meta features and will not use them in the future so the way the current Windows File CS Content Crawler portlet crawls documents into the portal will not work as most will not have a document title or will have some default internal name.
For example the PDF documents I am crawling in have Document Title's that have no relevance to the document filename.
We are only interested in the filename and not the document title (however we may use the field in the future for meta information). Apart from doing some development work to make a custom crawler is there any other way to change the behaviour of the Windows File CS Content Crawler.
I had to go into each document property in portal and modify the name field to the correct filename as it was using the value found in the Document Title field (incorrect).
This seems wrong to me, I can understand using the meta data information contained in files to do the crawling and make searching better however how do you do this with a PDF file that you cannot search against inside portal anyway?!

You can acomplish by changing the Global Document Property Map.
I don't have the specific screen in front of me so this is from memory.
Change the Name property to File name
Change the Title property to File name
You might have to experiment a bit with some test documents.

Windows File CS Content Crawler - Permission Issues

Hi,
Having a strange problem with a Windows File CS Content Crawler.
We have setup a shared directory on a server (on the same subnet/network as the portal server) where users drop their files (Word, PDF, Excel etc).
We have a Content Crawler job that crawls the files into Knowledge Directory, we then display the documents in a portal on one of our communities.
When an administrator level user clicks on the document link in the portal, the document is opened correctly i.e. you get a prompt to open or save. When a normal non-admin user clicks on the document link they receive the following error:
Error - Gateway was not able to access requested content. If the error persists, contact your portal administrator.
When I reviewed PTSpy I found the following message:
"user xxxxx does not have access to object id=232......."
Anyone experienced the above and know how they resolved this?

This is a permission problem, most likely on the data source that the crawler is using. Open the data source you used to create the crawler and see if its ID is 232. If it is, then you need to add whatever users/groups that should have access to the documents to the security ACL for the data source object. That will fix the problem.
Does the error also say what class id the object is? That would let you determine exactly which object is causing the problem if it is not the data source.

MT_HyperionReport is your message type and this represents the top level node of your message. Below this you have your records. You have MT_HyperionReport as a record type which is clearly not going to work.
In the content conversion parameters section the following fields should be filled, you dont need to specify Recordset if your XML structure does not include this node see SAPhelp example:
Document Name: MT_HyperionReport
Document Namespace: <look at your message type in the designer>
Recordset Structure: Record_type1,<occurrence 1..>, Record_type2,<occurrence 1..>
In the parameter box:
Record_type1.fieldSeparator
Record_type1.fieldNames
ignoreRecordsetName value true
Record_type2...

Query regarding file content conversion using file adapter

Hi All
I have a question regarding file content conversion in file adapter.
I have a file coming in the following format.
AA,111,222,333
BB,444,555,666
CC,777,888,999
My incoming message structure has a hierarchy. The CC record is a structure part of BB record. BB record is a structure part of AA record. It is like this:
AA,111,222,333
<<BB,444,555,666>>
<<<<CC,777,888,999>>>>
After file content conversion, in the resulted xml, i am getting a flat hierarchy instead of nested hierarchy.
Is it possible to get a nested hierarchy as a result of file content conversion?

I am getting a flat file and i am reading it.
This is my source structure:

This is my required targer structure:

To explain this, BB record can have multiple records of CC records.
AA records can have multiple records of BB record.
I am using removecontext node function.
CC (Source) (removecontext)-> CC (target structure)
But here, when i rightclick on source CC field in the mapping editor, i cannot see any other context except root node. So, how can i proceed here??

Hello,
ODI is an ELT product and not a Reporting one.
To work correctly with this tool you need good knowledge about Databases ans SQL.
About the market I can't answer you, I know that a new ODI major release will go out in 2009 and i think that all will depend on, this release is announced as totally different of the last one.
Essbase is one of the technology which is managed by the product, I don't really see the need for planning knowledge...
In ODI you can work with different DB, coding in SQl or directly in OS language, Java or Jython which are the only accepted language (if i'm right).

Youtube Content Crawls Down the Page

When I watch a video on YouTube the rest of the content crawls down and out of sight on the page. I can scroll down to find the content, so it is all there, just way, way down on the page. Anyone else seeing that happen? I have no 3rd party apps tied to YouTube.

If you are using Safari to view YouTube content which requires Flash.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
Not empty the Safari cache.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
Now try a video.

In BI Content activation screen we have 4 options Under Grouping.
1..only nessecary objects - If u select this, only the list of the objects u selected are activated. (Eg: If u select infoobjects and cubes only those r activated)
2..In Data flow before - If u select this option it will activate all the objects befor to the selected object. (means for eg; u selected Infocube with this option it ill activate all the infoobjects, transfer rules, updates rules before to activate infocube.)
3..In data flow after wards - for eg: if u select a cube with this option it will activate cube as well the list of reports available on this cube.
4..In data flow before and afterwards- If u select a cube with this option it will activate Infoobjects, Transfer rules, Infosources, Update rules, Reports...etc.

I sure that there is a better way,but this one will work also...
In PBO enter rows you will show in report to itab you define (same type)
In PAI (after change) compare this tables (your grid table and itab with values before the change) and you will get rows which have been changed...

               i had a requirement where i am having a nested structure on fcc side.Ingeneral we can specify the keyfield parameter as
follows.For example Header.keyFileldNames
But how can i specify the nested structure.for example

Inthis case how can i specify the keyfield parameter.

what is business content?

Hi,
Business content is the place where u can find the SAP standard BW objects lyk infoproviders, infosoruces, updaterules, queries etc.,..
Based on the requiremnt we have to c int he business content whether that matches with teh business content objects.
( suppose a customer infocube requirment is tere then we have to take into the consideration what all the dimensions i mean views the users is expecting the reports and model it and simultaneously u can see for the BC infoprovders whether any matches r not if matchign install them and utilize them. It is always recomended to make a copy of the standard ones an use )
U can go to the rsa1->business content -> and spcify the collection paremeters and then can install the BW objects which match ur requirement.
As per DS's are concerned, when u make a connection to any source sytem and replicate the system in the BW end all teh DS's (which are active willbe usable )will be copied over.
