Regd: Question in Transpotation and Monitoring

Dear All,
What are the Common or possible Question will be facing in Interviews in Tranpotation and  Monitroing... For eg: if will check DB02  what we will check and what steps we will take etc... or ST04 what we will do.
2) What are the Steps to Create Transport Group and its Advantages.
Regards
SNB

Hai,
Go through this.....
<b>1.     What is transport domain?</b>
A transport domain comprises all SAP Systems jointly administrated through the TMS(domain controller).
<b>2.     What is transport group?</b>
Group of SAP systems which are having common transport directory.
<b>3.     How do you configure the TMS?</b>
You must define which R/3 Systems in the system landscape should be combined in a transport domain and which R/3 System is to be the transport domain controller
Refer Xerox book
<b>
4.     What are the transport routes?</b>
A route between any 2 SAP systems in a land scape. Can be a consolidation or delivery path.
Consolidation – between development and quality
Delivery – from quality to production
<b>5.     How do you do the transports?</b>
The transport routes are used to define in which target system
You want to consolidate and deliver change requests.
Transport request will be released in the source system and are imported in the destination system.
SE09 and SE10 are used to release the Transport request
STMS – used to import the request.
In OS level use program tp.
Syntax – tp import <SIDXXX> <SID> clientXXX ux
<b>6.     What will happen during the export process?</b>
Files will be created in the OS level in the transport directory
R…… - data files
K…… - control files
transport directory – usr/sap/trans/data
                    usr/sap/trans/cofiles
<b>7.     What will happen during the import process?</b>
Datas will be imported in to the database. Get in to usr/sap/trans/bin
Syntax – tp import <SIDXXX> <SID> clientXXX ux
<b>8.     What type of files are created duing the export?</b>
R…… - data files
K…… - control files
<b>9.     What are the problems usually occurs during the transport and what is return cods?</b>
Refer book.
0 – succ
4- warnings
8 – error
above 8 – different types of errors
<b>10.     How do you configure transport profile?</b>
The transport control program requires a transport profile that contains information about
establishing the database connection for all R/3 Systems in the transport domain. TMS generates and manages this transport profile as a part of the transport domain configuration. You do not have to adjust the transport prof ile using operating system functions.

  • SFDM Tool (Shop Floor Dispatching and Monitoring), Technical questions

    Hi Everybody,
i am very excited to change knowledge here on the SCN.
Right now I am analyzing the SFDM Tool (Shop Floor Dispatching and Monitoring) and need some more Information, which cannot be found via Internet research. I hope someone, who is familiar with the technical details can support me with answers.
    1. Master Data:
    - How does the Interchange of master data (such as machine capacities in terms of time/quantities or number of available machines) work between the       SFDM and the ERP System?
    - Is there a permanent interface between the SFDM and the master data in the ERP System?
    - If so, which of the master data are communicated?
    - Are there any limitations?
    - Do BAPIs (Business Application Programming Interface) play a role?
    - Is any further master data maintenance necessary, if the customer wants to implement SFDM?
    2. There is a backend component situated in the ERP System called "SFDM on ABAP 1.0". What is the aim of this component?
    3. Does the SFDM work with algorithms? If so, why?
    4. Does the SFDM consider other machines in the same production plant?
    5. Does it work over HANA?
    6. Any further functionalities or restrictions?

    Hi
i wouldn't recommend SFDM for performance problem solving, if this is the issue you are facing.
If this is because planners are "lost" with CM25 because of problems for Production Orders selection and so-on, then try SFDM.
There is no new functionality compared to CM2x transactions within ERP.
The benefits are clearly focused on design and user-friendliness:
    interactive logs
easy configuration of settings and strategy compared to CM2x TCodes
    accessible details
Please keep also in mind the fact that this is working for individual capacities (cf. Rough Guide) and related constraints in terms of capacity category (only 0001 is supported).
    Best regards.

  • What is the best product for network mapping and monitoring? I am an inexperienced user). Mac 10.9.2 laptop

I have lots of questions, but the gist is that I want to know the best product, preferably from the app store, that I can use for network mapping mapping and monitoring.
I want to get their mac address or other police trackable etc info so I can use my computer safely.
    I am also being cyberbullied.
I try just using ethernet but still get intruded on, for instance, messages that "other devices are using my ip address". The only other device I own is an iPod that I keep sahut off plus wifi turned off then.
(NOTE:  You can skip the rest of this message if you want. It regards hacking attempts etc,  a little out of the scope of discussion, perhaps).
Also a home intrusion where computer was thoroughly hacked with router(s) set up "very very close to me," according to Apple.
Also, hackers get into my Facebook and gmail and yahoo mail, really,  no matter what I try to do on my computer and how many times I change passwords it does no good.
Also,  The ip addresses for google and the one in syste preferences and the one looking up my ip address on ip chicken always gets three different results.
More worrisome it that hackers got into my Wells Fargo account a week after the intrusion even though I changed all account #'s and pw plus notified bank. They also broke into paypal using my new account numbers.
Also, stuff like Facetime pops up on my computer without my clicking on it even though I'm using ethernet to connect. I've given up on Time Capsule because I'm told that's how the hackers hacked my computer so thoroughly duriung the intrusion.
    Thanks.

    Aubry,
why don't you send your sequences straight to Compressor first, encode your movies as MPEG 2 and AC3 audio and import all assets in DVD studio PRO?

  • Autonomy, Governance and Monitoring Inter Organisational BPM

    Hi All,
Which technological approach is suitable for implementing Collaborating BPM across the value chain from the point of view of Autonomy, Governance, Security, and Monitoring? What are the benefits of selecting the one approach over the other?
These approaches are Centralise, Decentralise, and Peer-to-Peer.
    Explanation of these approaches:
Centralise CBPM: Ownership of Collaborative System is with one Central Organisation and other Partners Participate in this collaboration through use of various UI’s such as portal. Example, Collaboration between the automobile manufacturer and dealer were automobile manufacturer provides portal for dealer to place order, manage its customer and handle warranty and recalls.
Decentralise CBPM: In this approach every partner provides communication technology like Web Services for its Business Partner for collaboration. The ownership is decentralise and more flexible
Peer-to-Peer CBPM: In ideal condition in this approach every Partner should have the same technology which is developed for handling collaborative Business Processes. In this case the same modelling, monitoring, and implementation technology is available across the value chain.
I kindly request your views and appreciate any questions and guidance.
    Regards,
    Ganesh Sawant

    PROS:
Using the Webservices you can trigger the BPM Process and pass the values from the web dypro component which will available for the end user and pass it on to the BPM Proess.
We can use EJB as a webservice, where the automated activity in the BPM can output the value based on the logic in the EJB Function. We can manage the automated activity which runs in the back ground of the process as per our logic and returns the value to the next task.
    CONS
Using Webservices in the various activity with fewer data is not advisable as it takes longer time to deploy the process. And any change in the data in the webservices requires regularly re importing of the web services.

  • Difference between Integration Process and Monitoring Process

    Hi Experts,
What is the difference between Integration Process and Monitoring Process available in PI7.1?
SAP says that Monitoring process is a special kind of integration process that receives the event messages.
My doubt is even integration process can receive the event messages.
Why these two different type of entities are created for the same purpose?
And what is the technical difference between the two in terms of PI perspective?
    Regards,
    Sami.

    My question is now answered.
On page 17 of this pdf following sentence is mentioned :-
From technical perspective, there is no difference between monitoring process and integration process.
Though logically those are two deifferent things.
Monitoring porcesses are used to receive only event messages that is comprises of event data only.
Like Purchase order creation is a event and its event message will have the event data like Order Id, Created on, Created by, Quantity etc., instead of whole purchase order.
Where as Integration Process is a way to provide solution in some specific circummtances like where we have to automate our process or where we need something in between for the course of communication.
Guys thanks for your precious time.

    Sami.

  • Setting Overrides on all relevant Rules and Monitors

Can someone please help me with the following question? I was reading the post below (I believe written by
    Cameron
Fuller) detailing some best practice around overrides. It stated if you override a ‘parameter’ for one rule/monitor (e.g. let’s say a parameter
dealing with a threshold) you should override the parameter for ‘all’ rules and monitors 'that use this parameter'. More information from the post below
Make sure that an overridden parameter is set for every rule and for every monitor that uses the parameter
When you override a parameter, make sure that the parameter is configured for each rule that uses the parameter and for each monitor that uses the parameter. There may be more than
one rule or monitor that uses the particular parameter. For example, the following rules and monitors use the
Intersite Expected Max Latency parameter: Monitors
    AD Replication Monitoring
    Rules
AD Replication Performance Collection - Metric Replication Latency
AD Replication Performance Collection - Metric Replication Latency: Maximum
AD Replication Performance Collection - Metric Replication Latency: Minimum
AD Replication Performance Collection - Metric Replication Latency: Average
    Now my question is:
How do I discovery all the rules/monitors that are using this particular ‘parameter’?
For example using either PowerShell or SQL query. If PowerShell I assume you would have to
use Get-Rule or Get-SCOMRule with the –Criteria filter. Does anyone have an example please?
As a side note I could do the following in PowerShell as one way to find all cmdlets what use the –path parameter as one of their parameters
    Get-Command -CommandType cmdlet | where {$_.parameters.keys -eq "path"}
So to recap: As above if I want to set an override on ‘Intersite Expected Max Latency’
for a given rule or monitor how do I find all other rules/monitors also use ‘Intersite Expected Max Latency’
as I can override these too?
    Thanks All

    Hi,
We may use the specific word to filter out those proper rules and monitors, to filter out all monitors that which name contains latency:
    get-scommonitor -name “*latency*”
Please refer to the below links to find more details about the get-scomrule and get-scommonitor command:
    Get-SCOMRule

Color don't work well in Mac book pro 13"  and monitor flash sometimes? Please help me!

Please describe the problem in as much relevant detail as possible. The "etrecheck" fad hasn't made that step any less necessary. The usual results of posting etrecheck output on this site without a full description of the problem are very poor.
The many "failed" warnings that etrecheck sometimes spews mean nothing. Those warnings are not a reason to reinstall the OS, or to do anything else at all. They should be ignored.
The better your description of the problem, the better the chance of a solution.
For example, if the computer is slow, which specific actions are slow? Is it slow all the time, or only sometimes? What changes did you make, if any, just before it became slow? Have you seen any alerts or error messages? Have you done anything to try to fix it? Most importantly, do you have a current backup of all data? If the answer to the last question is "no," back up now. Ask if you need guidance. Do nothing else until you have a backup.

  • Hardware config and componenets : raid, gpu and monitor choices

    Right,
I've almost finalised my decisions about a new build I'm putting together to use cs4 design premium prgrammes (mainly photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, fireworks and flash) and in the near future 3d Max and possibly a video editing programme.
There are some things I'm stuck with for now; Motherboard and cpu, and some things I have a few questions about: raid 0,  gpu and monitor choices.  I appreciate this is a long post - but any feed-back would be appreciated.
    MOTHERBOARD AND CPU
The motherboard and cpu were originally intended for a gaming pc:
    MSI DKA790GX Platinum Motherboard
AMD phenom x4 9950 black edition
This motherboard and cpu are far better than any other  I've had at my disposal when it has come to working with  adobe programmes (CS2).  So although
    - I will only be able to go up to 8gb of ddr2  800mhtz ram (apparently the motherbioard  becomes unstable with 8 gb 1066 ddr2)
    - I  do not have a motherboard that takes 2  6+ core cpus
From what I've seen of reviews on these components, at the moment,  I'm quite happy with what I've got for both cs4 and 3d max use.
Besides, in the last few weeks I've learnt there are other things I can do to get maximum leverage out of a build comprising  these components.
    HDD CHOICE FOR RAID 0
I've read Harms generic guideline for disk setup here
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/662972?start=0&tstart=0
I gather that this guide is principally for optimum running when video editing. But I also gather that the performance enhancement of raid 0 compared to no raid will be beneficial for both  photoshop and 3d Max.  4 discs with 2 in raid is what I was thinking of going for.
Discs I have or am thinking of buying:
    1.  I have 1 160gb WD ide 8mb cache hdd WD1600AAJB
    2.  I have 1 500gb WD Caviar blue SATA 16 mb cache hdd (WD500AAKS)
    3.  For the raid I'm thinking of buying 2x 1tb Samsung SpinPoint F3 7200rpm 32mb cache drives for £45.74 each
These are obviously highly rated as raid drives in these forums and I can't find anything smallar than a 1tb version of these drives at the shop I plan to order from – or is 1tb all they come in?
1st disc for OS and programmes
When going to the trouble of setting up raid is it acceptable to use an ide disc for the OS and programmes? I ask this because the 160gb WD hdd mentioned above has hardly been used....
If the ide drive is not approved of  I'm thinking of buying either
    1.  A 500gb Seagate Barcude 7200.12 16mb cache sata 2 drive for £29.73 or
    2.  A 500gb Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.C 7200rpm 16mb cache driver for £29.30 or
    3.  A  160gb samsung SpinPoint 7200rpm 8mb cache drive for 24.96
I know the Seagate and Hitachi  are huge drives for the principal purpose of storing the OS and programmes but they both have 16mb cache and are only a few pounds more than the 160gb Samsung drive with only 8mb cache
    Or
considering I'm going for F3 spinpoint for the raid discs would it be better, in terms of compatibility between the drives, to go for a spinpoint 8mb cache for the OS and programme discs
What should be my biggest concern here – compatibility between the discs or a higher cache on the disc  - or considering they are all the same speed (7200rpm) does the cache not matter that much?
2nd disc for page file, media cache
I was thinking of dedicating the 500gb WD I have for these purposes.  I've read in this forum that the WD drives are not that reliable when it comes to raid arrays – apart from that they seem to have a good reputation.
    3-4th discs for raid 0
My mind is pretty much made up on the Samsung SpinPoint F3's
    Partitions
Because there are a huge number of gb's in this set up I'm thinking of  partioning the 1st and second discs so that in addition to using them for 'the operating system and programme files' and 'page file and media cache' their second partitions can be used to backup the data stored in the raid array.
Is it good practice to partition dedicated discs in this way?
    THE GPU
Due to it's reletive cheapness, wide spread use and endorsement amongst gamers and workstation users alike, first of all I was swayed towards the 480GTX and using quadro driver hacks.  But I couldn't get the number of ''risk factor' forum threads concerning making a GTX think its a quadro – particularly when it comes to using 3d max - out of my head.  Even without the hacks there are a high percentage of grissly stories out there concerning the 480s and 3d max compared to workstation cards and 3d max.  So I've decided that because I have the budget to get a workstation card (an ATI V7800) for 'just' £134 more than a GTX480 (£424 compared to £293) then for the peace of mind of more stable drivers, when getting to grips with a complex new programme, I might as well go for it and pay that bit extra.
I've had a good look at both the ATI V7800 and the PNY QUADRO 4000.... the differences between stream versus cuda and how these cards perform when rendering 3d programmes.....  I  started vearing towards the V7800 when I realised that when it came to rendering it was being compared very favourably with the quadro FX5800 let a lone the much cheaper quadro 4000.... Plus with the disc set up I am now thinking of I can buy the V7800 plus all the discs talked about above for £10 less than I can find the quadro 4000 for alone.
The only thing I'm concerned about is the V7800's compatibility with the cs4 design premium suite.
This page indicates that although some of these cards were released after cs4 they are supported by it.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/405/kb405445.html
Would it be wrong of me to suppose that, because the new V7800 is a work station graphics card, it will  be supported by cs4?
What difference will it make if it isn't supported?
Having said that the quadro 4000 isn't listed as supported on this page either....
What would be your choice between the quadro 4000 and ATI V7800?
    THE MONITOR
The monitor I'm looking at the 22” Dell 2209WA  eIPS..... Although older (2008 vs 2009) the slightly larger 24”Dell 2408WFP has also caught my eye due to the higher contrast ratio (1300:1 vs 1000:1) and that this increased contrast ratio means it is capable of displaying 110 percent of the NTSC gamut as opposed to 86% with the the 2209WA.
I'm familiar with monitor on the 2006 dell XPS M1710  laptop and am very impressed with colour fidelity.  The 2408WFP does require more calibration tweaking by the sound of it....
Anyone any experince of either of these monitors?
I'm off to the gym for an hour or so - I'll be back in a couple of hours

My strong advice:  Don't skimp on price on hard drives.
Get high MTBF RAID edition drives (e.g., Western Digital RE-series drives).
    http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=30
In my main workstation I currently have two 1 TB WD RE3 drives that have been spinning in a RAID 0 configuration 24/7 with ZERO problems for a year now.
I figure one wants to minimize the chance of losing one's data down the road.  How much would it cost you in time, effort, and lost work to recover your data from a backup if you should lose your hard drive?
Top-end drives can fail, sure, but the MTBF numbers say that the chances are much smaller than with "cheap" drives.  And the RAID edition drives have additional features, such as vibration reduction, that differentiates them from lesser drives.
Ask yourself, why would one drive be cheaper than another?  Poorer quality materials?  Not as much quality control?
Another bit of info:  Search this forum for "quadro".  It seems that these expensive video cards may be seeing more trouble with Photoshop than you might expect.  Some of the less expensive cards, that may have had more OpenGL testing (e.g., to support gaming) might be better choices for use with Photoshop.  Personally I prefer ATI.

  • Script to change the priorty of all rules and monitors in a Management Pack

Script to change the priority and severity  of all rules and monitors in a Management Pack in an override MP .We are deploying an MP in production and don't want the helpdesk to take any action on any alerts, so want to set all of them as informational.Once
they are reviewed then we will delete that override mp
Can some one help me with a script

Is this MP sealed?  Doesn't really matter..  Unseal the MP if it is sealed.  Now you have access to the RAW XML.  Alert severity and priority have xml tags.  You should be able to do a search and replace and change all the various
levels (0-3 or whatever they are) to the levels and priority you want.
Then you can seal the mp with your own key, or just roll it into prod as an unsealed MP.
This seems, to me, like the quickest and easiest way to make all of these changes at once.  To bulk override everything, not even sure it's still around or even works, there was a tool called Override Explorer, and you could select multiple monitors/events
and create overrides.  I can't remember very much about the tool because we didn't use it much, but I think it did this with live data, meaning it connected to your management server, and you made the changes in real time.
Of course you wouldn't want to do this in production, so do it in a lab, then export the override mp and put it in prod.
There is probably some snazzy way to do this with PoSh, but I am not aware of any atm.

    Hi dears!
I've got a little question -is it possible to save business processes structure and monitoring parameters as a local file?

        cl_hrrcf_m_rfc_services=>commit_and_refresh( lv_dest ).

    Hi,
This is a very newbie question. If I get a Mac Mini Server, do I need a keyboard and monitor to administer it, or can I use my mac book to remote access it and perform any task?

    {quote:title=capkin wrote:}

Be aware, if you want to set up RAID 1, you will need to have (at least temporarily) a keyboard, mouse and monitor directly attached to the monitor. You will also need some sort of DVD drive to boot the SL Server Install DVD.

  • Question regarding battery and warranty

Hi all! I have a quick question about how and if my warranty applies to my battery. After about a year and a half of ownership (I have the three-year extended warranty), my battery has gone completely down the toilet. It wasn't a problem before, but this year I have to lug my T61p around a lot for lab work. My battery is now rated at... 39.75Wh when it shipped at 84.24Wh. This is a pretty drastic difference. In any case, I don't think that this is covered by warranty, but figured that I'd ask before I drop $180 on a new battery (ouch). And, speaking of, if my suspicions are correct, does anybody know where I might find a 9-cell battery for the T61p? All I'm seeing on Lenovo's website is the one for the N100... which doesn't... match very well. Yaknow.
    Thanks a lot!

Is either of these appropriate? I'm wary of the one on Amazon, as there are other (off-brand) batteries that are advertised as being Lenovo ones (though those generally sell for  a lower price). The other one just looks like I'll have to call up to buy it.

Just to elaborate here, Ann154 is referring to access charges for wifi, which is nothing to do with Verizon, so if you are using it in a plane, hotel, an internet cafe etc that charges for Wifi rather than being free .   Verizon does not charge you (or indeed know about!) wifi usage, or any other usage that is not on their cellular network (such as using a foreign SIM for example in global phones)  So these charges, if any, will not show up on the verizon bill app.  Having it in airplane mode prevents all cellular data traffic so you should be fine
