Regular expression in biztalk schema

Hi Experts,
Can any one give me the expression for validating the below expression in Biztalk schema.
YYYYMMDD HHMM
Needed urgently please.Thanks in Advance

you can try System.DateTime.TryParseExact(variable, "yyyyMMdd HHmm", null,
System.Globalization.DateTimeStyles.None, out yourDateTimeVariable)
refer
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms131044(v=vs.110).aspx
If the call returns true you're good to go and you'd have the additional flexibility of being able to represent the date in any format since you'd have it as a DateTime variable.
In regexp you'd need to build in the leap year and 400 year validations too.
Regards.

  • Regular Expressions and XML Schemas

    The standard regular expression syntax in JDK1.4 doesn't support some of the constructs used by pattern facets in XML schemas.
    For example the "Name" type is specified by the pattern "\i\c*" but the java.util.regex regular expression handler throws an exception when it encounters this with the following message:
    Illegal/unsupported escape squence near index 1
    Is anyone aware of any regular expression java libraries or tools that will cope with the XML syntax?

    Thanks, but perhaps I should clarify. I realise that \i\c* is invalid syntax in the java regexp handler. My point is that in XML Schema regular expressions \i is meaningful - in fact it means
    "the set of initial name characters, those matched by Letter | '_' | ':' "
    I was wondering if anyone knew of a regular expression library that understood and correctly interpreted that.

  • Funny problem with schema pattern regular expression

    I have following element in my schema:
    <xsd:element name="lD">
         <xsd:simpleType>
              <xsd:restriction base="xsd:string">
                   <xsd:pattern value="\d{5,8}" />
              </xsd:restriction>
         </xsd:simpleType>
    </xsd:element>then in the XML, I have:
    <ID>
    123456789
    </ID>funny thing is the schema validates the value successfully. seems the upper bound of 8 the in the regular expression does not have any effect. however, 1234 would fail.
    i looked up the schema prime on W3C, it specifies that {n,m} means at least n and at most m.
    any idea anyone?
    I have using Xerces 1.4.4.
    Thanks

    I tried the example you mentioned and it seemed to
    work for me. It validated both the upper bound and
    the lower bound. Looking at the Manifest file in
    xerces jar, it looks like I have version 2.5.0yes, I know. Xerces 2 works, but Xerces 1 has the above problem. If you get Xerces 1.4.4 from xml.apache.org, you will see the problem.
    I can not use Xerces 2 in our production environment yet.

  • Biztalk schema exposing as WCF service with multiple operations

    Hi,
    I am working on a design pattern to expose the BizTalk schema as a WCF service and thought of taking expert’s advice. I have a single schema with 30 different nodes and each one is a different message type. For this 30 message types we need to expose WCF
    endpoints to customer for consuming from their application.
    When I exposed this schema as WCF service, a single receive location got created in BizTalk application and in IIS there is one .svc file. I defined 30 operations for this while exposing the endpoint with wizard.
    Currently I came up with the below 2 approaches but I did not like them as there is more redundancy
    Create 30 different orchestrations and each orchestration subscribes to Message Box direct binding with message type as filter.
    Create a single orchestration that binds to single receive location( this location got created by wizard..) and access the operation/message type in the expression shape. Based on this value create 30 IF conditions for each message type. For this the
    single orchestration receive shape should have a message type of xml document and then access the type. Is it possible?
    I don’t like the above approaches as it is very difficult to maintain and also difficult to add for any new message type.
    Does anyone has good ideas for doing this?
    Thanks
    JB

    "Canonical Schemas" are used where multiple source messages need to be addressed by a SINGLE Operation !!!
    Every operation anyway translates to a separate process. Forget that we're dealing with BizTalk for a minute, when you're writing plain we services, you introduce new service contracts (operations) when you deal with different data contracts. To come back,
    in BizTalk your data contracts are your schemas. So when you have multiple schemas, each requiring different processing then you need different orchestrations.
    Let us for a minute assume you've defined a single service schema (very possible with a service header and a service details where the service data contract could differ). Now you use this schema to expose ONE service endpoint (good till now). In that service
    you're suggesting to ADD decisions (something like a switch statement where you'll do 'x' set of activities is the message is of 'x' type and so on... How is this sustainable? Every time you introduce an new operation, you'll have to tear down and redeploy
    the new orchestration which will affect all other operations. During the introduction of ONE op you may touch other parts of the orchestration (multiple branches in a parallel shape anyways make the orchestration very unwieldy from a code management/support
    standpoint) and introduce errors in existing ops.

  • Regular Expressions in num-exp

    Hello All,
    I had a problem on my SRST gateway with num-exp insterting a repeating pattern into my 7-digit dialing when in fallback mode.
    For a brief example, the 7digit internal dialing is 21621.. or 21622..
    The num-exp statement of 'num-exp 2... 2162...' was not allowing me to 7-digit dial directly from one IP phone to another while in fallback mode.
    When I dialed 2162154 the 2162 would hit the num-exp and be expended to 2162162.
    I have a work around that uses a voice translation-rule, applied to the call-manager-fallback config that will translate a 7-digit dialed string to the 4 digit dialed string which then hits the 4-digit to 7-digit num-exp and it is working fine.
    However, I was wondering if there is a way to  use regular expressions in num-exp so that perhaps I can skip the intermediate step of using the translation-rule. Based off my existing translation-rules that are working properly, I figured something like this might work for num-exp:
    'num-exp /^2\([12]..$\)/ /2162\1/'
    But when I try to issue a num-exp with a regular expression I get the following message.
    Incorrect format for Number macro pattern
            regular expression must be of the form  ^((\+)?([0-9#*A-F.]|(\\\*))+(\$)?)$
    I have tried a number of different combinations with no success.  I always get the same message.  The regular expression that I tried first was:
    'num-exp ^2... 2162...'
    This is when I first saw the "Incorrect format..." message and figured that is must be possible.  Is this just a generic warning similar to when you try to use complex regular expressions with the 'translation-rule' command vs. the 'voice translation-rule' command and in reality you cannot use regular expressions in the num-exp command?
    Thank you,
    Leo

    Hi Chris,
    Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.  It looks like the answer is no, num-exp does not support regular expressions.
    I don't insist on using num-exp for this I was just hoping to kill two birds with one stone and possibly skip the intermediate step of translating the 7-digits dial to 4-digits using a translation-rule just to expand from 4-digit to 7 again.  This is only an issue while in SRST if a user tries to dial using 7-digits.  We have a 7-digit internal dialing scheme and normally my num-exp is just to expand the 4 digits sent from the telco to our 7-digit internal dialing.  The problem is that both our prefix and part of our DID range start with 21 so while in SRST if a user tried to dial a 7-digit DN, say 2162154, after they dialed the 4th digit (2162) that pattern would hit the num-exp and get expanded to 2162162.  I was hoping to create a num-exp using a regular expression that would only expand a four digit string that begins with a 2 to seven digits and not any string that begins with a 2.  This would 1) expand the four digits sent from the telco and 2) not match a seven digit string that begins with a 2 such as 2162154 which may be dialed by a user.
    Again, this is only an issue while in SRST and I have a pretty good work around so I'm fine with not being able to use a regular expression as part of my num-exp config.  I just thought it would be a cool application of a regular expression if it was possible.
    Thanks again for answering my question.

  • Regular express excludes an integer

    Does some one know if there is a simple regular expression pattern which can be used in an XML schema as a restriction to exclude a few integers from the entire integer set?
    For example, if I want to use the schema to validate an xml document which has an element called 'playerId' and its value can be any integers BUT 1000, the schema segment for the validation could be like:
    <xsd:restriction base="xsd:integer">
    <xsd:pattern value="<<pattern string>>"/>
    </xsd:restriction>
    what <<pattern string>> can I use to validate the value IS NOT 1000?
    I tried a few such as ((\d*)-(1000)), [^(1000)], \d*[^(1000)], none worked. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Why don't you derive from an integer type instead of a string? I know this seems ridiculously verbose for such a simple restriction, but it should do what you want:<xsd:attribute name="root">
      <xsd:simpleType>
        <xsd:union>
          <xsd:simpleType>
            <xsd:restriction base="xsd:nonNegativeInteger">
              <xsd:maxInclusive value="999"/>
            </xsd:restriction>
          </xsd:simpleType>
          <xsd:simpleType>
            <xsd:restriction base="xsd:positiveInteger">
              <xsd:minInclusive value="1001"/>
            </xsd:restriction>
          </xsd:simpleType>
        </xsd:union>
      </xsd:simpleType>

  • Regular Expression wierdness - problem with $ character

    If I use the following KM code in Beanshell Technology - it works correctly and replaces "C$_0MYREMOTETABLE RMTALIAS, MYLOCALTABLE LOCALIAS, " with "C$_0MYREMOTETABLE_000111 RMTALIAS, MYLOCALTABLE LOCALIAS, "
    But when I try to use the same exact code in 'Undefined' technology - it does not match anything in the source string - and does not replace anything.
    If I change the regular expression to not use the $ it still does not work.
    But if I change the source string to remove the $ - then the regular expression works.
    If I use the same code in Beanshell technology - it works fine - but then I can't use the value in a later 'Undefined' technology step.
    Does anyone know if the java technology does something special with $ characters when ODI parses the KM code?
    Does anyone know if there is a way to use the value from a Beanshell variable in a 'Undefined' technology step?
    String newSourceTableList = "";
    String sessionNum ="<%=odiRef.getSession("SESS_NO") %>";
    String sourceTableList = "<%=odiRef.getSrcTablesList("", "[WORK_SCHEMA].[TABLE_NAME] [POP_TAB_ALIAS]" , ",", ",") %>";
    String matchExpr = "(C\\$_\\S*)"; (should end with two backslashes followed by 'S*' - this editor mangles it)
    String replaceExpr = "$0_"+sessionNum+ " ";
    newSourceTableList = sourceTableList.replaceAll(matchExpr,replaceExpr);
    ---------------------------------------------------

    Phases of substitution in ODI:
    The way ODI works allows for three separate phases of substitution, and you can use them all. The three phases are:
    - First Phase: <% %> You will see these appear in the knowledge moduiles etc and these are substituted on generation. (when you generate a scenario, or tell ODI to execute an interface directly) this phase is used to generate the column names, table names etc which are known from the metadata at that phase.
    - Second Phase: <? ?> This phase is substituted when the scenario is instatntiuated as an excution - session generation. At this point, ODI has the additional information which allows it to generate the schema names, as it has resolved the Logical/Physical Schemas through the use of the Context (which is provided for the execution to take place. All the substitutions at this point are written to the execution log.
    - Third Phase <@ @> This phase is substituted when the execution code is read from the session log for execution. You will note that anything substituted in this phase is NEVER written to the execution log. (see PASSWORDS as a prime example, you don't want those written to the logs, with the security risks associated with that!)
    Anything in <@ @> is always interpreted for substitution by the java beanshell, it does not have to be a Java Beanshell step, it can be any kind of step, it will be interpreted at that run-time point.

  • Oracle regular expression help

    I have worked with regular expressions a little bit in unix scripting.
    I need to diff two schemas to look for missing objects.
    Problem: I changed the naming conventions.
    My objects used to end with '_T' and now end with '_MV'
    I cant use regular instr because I can have
    HELLO_TYPES_T or I could have HELLO_T
    I want to trim off the last T and MV and then do a minus to see if I am missing objects.
    I I think I need to use regexp_instr with an end of line regular expression, but I can't get the syntax correct. Can someone give me a hand?

    Well, how about this:
    SQL> with schema1
      2   as ( select  'HELLO_TYPES_T' obj from dual union all
      3        select  'HELLO_T' from dual union all
      4        select  'TYPES_T' obj from dual union all
      5        select  'HELLO_TYPES_MV' obj from dual union all
      6        select  'HELLO_MV' from dual union all
      7        select  'TYPES_MV' obj from dual union all
      8        select  'OBJECTS_T' obj from dual )
      9  ,    schema2

    11        select  'HELLO_T' from dual union all
    12        select  'TYPES_T' obj from dual union all
    13        select  'HELLO_TYPES_MV' obj from dual union all
    14        select  'HELLO_MV' from dual union all
    15        select  'TYPES_MV' obj from dual)
             ---actual query
    16    select regexp_replace(obj, '^*(_T|_MV)$', '') regexp
    17    from   schema1
    18    minus
    19    select regexp_replace(obj, '^*(_T|_MV)$', '') regexp
    20    from   schema2;
    REGEXP
    OBJECTS
    1 row selected.And vice versa (schema2 minus schema1)

  • Replace string with regular expression

    I am new to the regular expression. I am just trying to remove double quotes from a string.
    My sample string is sql statement(SELECT "SCHEMA"."TABLE1"."COLUMN1", "SCHEMA"."TABLE1"."COLUMN2" FROM "SCHEMA"."TABLE1", "SCHEMA"."TABLE2" WHERE "SCHEMA"."TABLE1"."COLUMN1" = "SCHEMA"."TABLE2"."COLUMN1" );
    This is what I came up with.
    String s = query.replaceAll("\\.\"", ".").replaceAll("\"\\.", ".").replaceAll("\\s\"", " ").replaceAll("\\s\"", " ").replaceAll("\",", ",").replaceAll("\"\\s", " ");
    But I want to optimize this line.
    Could anybody tell me how to call replaceAll once with using regular expression instead of calling replaceAll multiple times? Some table or column names can have double quotes, so I want to remove the double quotes without replacing the double quotes which is part of the table or column name.
    I'd appreciated it.

  • DOM Parser fails with regular expression using anchor (carat, dollar)

    I'm using version "Oracle XDK Java 9.0.4.0.0 Production"
    In trying to parse XML against schema: a regular expression fails to parse the data "8:00" with the following simple regular expression: "^.*$" (used to narrow the error)
    The error message is
    <Line 14, Column 25>: XSD-2025: (Error) Invalid text '8:00' in element: 'XYZ'
    If I remove the anchors and just have ".*", the data is parsed successfully.
    I dont understand why the parse fails when I use a anchors in the regular expression, and the java Pattern/Matcher classes succeed with the anchors?

    That "ns670" string is an xml namespace prefix. it should have a corresponding xml namespace declaration somewhere in the xml document (i'm guessing you have not shown the whole document). the actual value of an xml namespace prefix is meaningless. if you parse the xml with a namespace aware DOM parser, it should generate Nodes with the correct namespace. the namespace is the value you care about when extracting data from the document, not the namespace prefix.
    alternately, if you parse the document using a namespace aware DOM parser, you can just look for nodes based on their "local" name (the part after the ":" separator) and ignore the namespace/prefix.
    whatever you do, please do not parse the xml with a regex, see this http://stackoverflow.com/a/1732454/552759 for details (applies to xml as well).

    I suggest you dump using regular expressions for extracting data from xml files. There are standard APIs that everyone uses for such tasks. Regular expressions are a bad idea for xml documents. Search Google for 'Java XML Parser' to read up on them.  Also, XML documents get very complicated to read with regular expressions due to what their xml schemas say are valid variations of valid XML documents, such as being able to ignore comments in the document.
    I believe this link may help:  http://www.w3schools.com/xpath

  • Logical AND in Java Regular Expressions

    I'm trying to implement logical AND using Java Regular Expressions.
    I couldn't figure out how to do it after reading Java docs and textbooks. I can do something like "abc.*def", which means that I'm looking for strings which have "abc", then anything, then "def", but it is not "pure" logical AND - I will not find "def.*abc" this way.
    Any ideas, how to do it ?
    Baken

    First off, looks like you're really talking about an "OR", not an "AND" - you want it to match abc.*def OR def.*abc right? If you tried to match abc.*def AND def.*abc nothing would ever match that, as no string can begin with both "abc" and "def", just like no numeric value can be both 2 and 5.
    Anyway, maybe regex isn't the right tool for this job. Can you not simply programmatically match it yourself using String methods? You want it to match if the string "starts with" abc and "ends with" def, or vice-versa. Just write some simple code.

    I dont get your question Can you post your desired output? and also give some sample data.
    Please consider the following when you post a question.
    1. New features keep coming in every oracle version so please provide Your Oracle DB Version to get the best possible answer.
    You can use the following query and do a copy past of the output.
    select * from v$version 2. This forum has a very good Search Feature. Please use that before posting your question. Because for most of the questions
    that are asked the answer is already there.
    3. We dont know your DB structure or How your Data is. So you need to let us know. The best way would be to give some sample data like this.
    I have the following table called sales
    with sales
    as
          select 1 sales_id, 1 prod_id, 1001 inv_num, 120 qty from dual
          union all
          select 2 sales_id, 1 prod_id, 1002 inv_num, 25 qty from dual
    select *
      from sales 4. Rather than telling what you want in words its more easier when you give your expected output.
    For example in the above sales table, I want to know the total quantity and number of invoice for each product.
    The output should look like this
    Prod_id   sum_qty   count_inv
    1         145       2 5. When ever you get an error message post the entire error message. With the Error Number, The message and the Line number.
    6. Next thing is a very important thing to remember. Please post only well formatted code. Unformatted code is very hard to read.
    Your code format gets lost when you post it in the Oracle Forum. So in order to preserve it you need to
    use the {noformat}{noformat} tags.
    The usage of the tag is like this.
    <place your code here>\
    7. If you are posting a *Performance Related Question*. Please read
       {thread:id=501834} and {thread:id=863295}.
       Following those guide will be very helpful.
    8. Please keep in mind that this is a public forum. Here No question is URGENT.
       So use of words like *URGENT* or *ASAP* (As Soon As Possible) are considered to be rude.
