Relay Problem, Relay Prohibited, mappings file look fine

Hello Everybody.
I am suffering from a relay problem.
I can'not send mail to for example hotmail.com from Messenger express and outlook express.
I can send from outlook express where i activate AUTH.
I check mappings file and i see allright.
The local network is enabled, and the localhost too.
I also check all the posts in the forum and i didn't find the answer.

PDF file looks fine but prints fuzzy

Hi, I am making music books for a publishing company and we are having an issue with some PDF's. To let you know what we are dealing with I will provide you with some critical info.
I recieve 600 DPI scans as PDF's of books with music in them from our production crew. I take these files and I have to edit the layout of music on the last page so that there is room for our barcode. I insert the barcode and resave the file as a flattened 600 DPI PDF again. Then in Acrobat, I replace the old page, with the new page containing the barcode. The new page looks fine on screen, but when printed out it looks very fuzzy.
I have noticed that this also happens to our barcodes when importing pictures into Quark. I have tried saving the barcodes out as TIFF's and as GIF's (they are high contrast black and white, so GIF's have good quality and very low file size)at 600 DPI. Then we export PDF's from Quark and get the same problem with the fuzzyness.
Does photoshop have some settings for PDF's that will fix this? I am not even sure why it is doing this in the first place. I appologize for the long explanation but would rather have it be clear the first time. Any help you guys can give me would be great!

Okay thanks for the input, but when i try to import with images, instead of pages, it says there was a program error and it fails to import. Unfortunately I have to do these in photosjop first, because like I said in the first message, i have to edit the music on the page so that the barcode will fit.
The page is FULL of music, and we cannot simply shrink because that makes it harder for people to read the smaller notes. So I have to move the measures closer together, and sometimes I have to cut out extra space in the measures. If I were to do this in quark I would need to set up several different image boxes and then make sure they would line up properly. It is not very time effecient because I do dozens of these each day.
I have been playing around with the downsampling options and I am getting better results with that. I will post any progress I happen to find.

PDF file looks fine on the monitor, but paths bond in print in both PS and non-PS printers.

I have a printing from Illustrator PDF problem. I've got Illy CS4 in which I have a rather huge file with a map and I'm tring to print pieces of the map. The PDF looks fine on the screen, but there are straigt lines on the print leading from one end to the other of two longest paths in the file.
The problem occurs when saving through Scripts to PDF, Scripts to Poscript in Illustrator CS4 (with all updates) and CS5.1. I also went to a friend who is using CS5 and a PDF made with it also had paths bonded. The problem doesn't occur when saving the file to a low version of Illy, opening it in Corel X4 and printing from a PDF made in Corel. Funny enough I also made a multipage A3+ print of an older version of the file and two of the lines showed up on the first artboard, none on the middle one and only one line in the third one (see the photo below).
Guys at the printers and more advanced Illustrator users I've asked for help said the've never seen anything like this and have no idea what the problem is. Accually, anyone I know hasn't got a clue of what the problem might be.

In the first jpg below are the only lines which are supposed to be printed (marked in red). The problem is that apart of what I'm supposed to be getting in print (print screen of the pdf above), I'm getting the lines I've marked in yellow in the second jpg below and which are not drawn in my .ai file neither in PDF. They show up in print only.

My RAW files look fine on my camera but turn darker with a purple tint on Photoshop and Bridge

I took some pictures at a gig last night, the lighting was quite good for a change and I was really pleased with how they turned out. The lighting at the gig gave all the photographs a red tint which I don't like but they were all bright enough. As soon as I opened them up in Adobe Bridge they all looked fine one minute but then gradually started to change to a much darker purple colour! I opened them up in Photoshop and they were the same. I then put the card back in my camera and they were fine again, brighter and more detailed with a red tint. When I opened them up in Bridge again they were dark! Any suggestions on why this is happening?

Finally, in Canon's DPP software we can see the image is using the Portrait Picture Style:
But if we change the Picture Style to Standard, then the lighting appears to be more magenta, again:
Which is especially apparent if we brighten things a little:
So my analysis would be that the Adobe Standard was a reasonable rendering of the raw data and camera white-balance, it's just that the camera was set to some non-standard settings, so corresponding adjustments needed to be made in Adobe software to match.

CHM file looks fine on my Desktop - but Topic contents missing in Dropbox

When I try to zip the .CHM file and mail it to the developer or when I upload it to Dropbox everything seems to be fine. The file is 5.8 MB (72 Topics)
But when he tried to open it all he sees are the purple "books" and the individual Topic Titles - but the Topic pages are not appearing.
What am I doing wrong?
He also needs the mapping numbers for all 72 Topics. I generated these - now how do I send them to him?
Where is the file I need and what is it called (BCCSDefualt.h ?)
I am using RoboHelp 10 on a Windows 7 computer - haven't used RoboHelp in 6 years so I am very rusty!

It's because of the security restrictions Microsoft implements for CHM files.
Have your recipient save the file to their local hard drive before opening it. If there is still no content visible after doing that, they will need to "unblock" using the instructions at the link below:

Relaying not allowed but mappings seem fine

we are running messaging server 5.2 on windows 2000 server. (actually we have 2 servers for 2 different domains, but configured exactly the same)
I have the following problem: on one of the 2 servers, i can't send mail to external mail servers (error is: 5.7.1 relaying not allowed).
However, the mappings file seems ok:
i connect from ip 172.21.3.217, and this is the internal_ip bit of the mappings file:

the problem arose when i tried to add another subnet. i added it, did a imsimta refresh, and from then on, it wouldn't work anymore.
since then, i also did a imsimta cnbuild, imsimta restart job_controller, even rebooted the machine. no go.
when i'm logged on to the server and i telnet to port 25 (localhost), it works ok.
any suggestions ? this is driving me crazy.
i can only send mail via outlook express with authentication enabled, but we have some tools that can't handle this authentication stuff, so these apps simply refuse to send mail.
another thing, this mail server also insists on connecting to the client on port 113 (auth) before granting access, the other mail server doesn't do this. so apparently there are differences between them, but i don't know where to look.
any ideas please please ?

Is it possible you have "mustsalsserver" configured on your smtp channel? The default is maysaslserver which allows Athenticated SMTP and normal SMTP. If you have mustsasl... You must use Athenticated SMTP.

Relay problem

Running IMS 5.2 w/Direct LDAP and having the following issue:
Want to configure so that all email will be coming from a virus gateway. The problem I have is that the IMS server will not accept email to an "outside" address and I get the 5.7.1 "no relay" error. The IP address (virus gateway) is in the mappings file. I also found info to remove maysaslserver and replace with mustsaslserver in the tcp_local of imta.cnf file. After the change any "outside" email address returns a SMTP Auth error. My understanding would be that any IP listed in the mappings file would go to the tcp_intranet channel and not be forced for SMTP Auth. It doesn't appear to be working this way, and seems everything is being processed by the tcp_local channel. Any ideas?

Well, I don't know who you might be working with "at Sun", but. . .
1. Most firewall vendors are great at creating firewalls, but not great at creating SMTP applications. I can't tell you how many problems I've personally solved by simply switching firewall "store/forward" off for port 25. Better to run a copy of iMS' MTA on the DMZ box, instead of the firewall.
2. If your store iMS box says, "tcp_local", that by definition means that the messages have "come" from an ip address not included in "local_ip". That's how iMS works.
3. I don't see how using SASL will change this in any useful way. It's simply a more secure connection. Not authenticated, nor channel-switching.
4. If you're not getting where you need to, and have an open Tech Support case, please ask your tech to "escalate the case" to a more experienced engineer. You may ask for me, if you like. All the Sun techs know me.

Mail relay problem

Hi,
my new Lion server has a problem relaying mails to my ISP's server.
I configured it with the same parameters than my old Snow Leopard box, wich worked fine.
Lion cues all mails localy with an error saying that no "SASL mechanism" was found.
Can anyone give me a hint how to fix this localy?

the error messag in ServerAdmin says:
SASL authentication failed; cannot authenticate to server smtp.1und1.de[212.227.15.167]: no mechanism available

When I load an index.html file, the page looks fine, but when I refresh, the page shrinks.

I am using Dreamweaver. I open an index.html file in Firefox and it looks fine. When I make changes, and then refresh in Firefox, the page will shrink. If I close out Firefox and open the file in Firefox, it's fine until it's refreshed and then it shrinks again.
The file has one background image that is 1024px by 768px. I made sure the browser was completely open and I have a 27 inch monitor, so there is no reason for it to shrink down.
I've opened the same file in Chrome and Explorer and this doesn't happen.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox hoping this would help, but it didn't.
Suggestions on how to make this stop?

Since I have installed iOS 6.1.3 on my iPhone 5 I have sometimes problems to start a phone call. Everything looks fine, but no ring tone... A workaround is to stop phone app in the multitasking bar. But this is more than inconvenient ;-) Any solution?

In this cases everything looks fine, but no ring tone is there and after sometimes the phone informs me that no connection can be estabilished (its a German phone, therefore I am not sure about the message in English systems). A workaround is to stop the telephone app in the multitasking bar (double click on home button, hold the app symbol pressed for some seconds, close app). Next several call work after this.
I am not sure if an incomming call would work in this mode...
Faces anybody the same problems or has solution for it?

The value of the Channel Strip volume etc is not stored within the C Strip setting, as you have discovered.
If you really wanted, you could add a Gain plug to the strip, with it set to give the correct output level with the Fader set to 0
(Or just set the fader manually in MS)

Static image looks fine in media pane but renders with problems

I have a project in which I am placing a few static JPGs over the video portion for a few seconds at a time here and there to illustrate certain things a speaker is touching on. The JPGs are usually not quite big enough to cover the entire frame of the media pane, so I end up having to resize them and make them bigger to either cover the rest of the video that’s still showing, or to effectively ‘crop out’ a portion of the JPG that I don’t want to see in the final output.
Everything looks fine in the media pane. The problem arises when I output the final video to FLV. Some of the JPGs look fine – just as they did in the media pane preview. But a lot of them end up showing portions that I had cropped out, or even portions of the video that I know were covered up. It appears completely random. And when I re-export and try again, sometimes the problem disappears.

One JPG sample is 960x720 pixels.
The Project Preset Frame Size is 1280x720 pixels.
For this particular sample, I stretch the JPG so that the text at the bottom of it falls below the media pane (since both the JPG and the project have the same pixel height). It becomes a little more pixelated, but that's fine. Sometimes it does get cropped out of the final FLV, sometimes it doesn't...

ASk in the DW firum and be much more specific. Web page rendering issues are specific to specific versions of browsers and you may simply be using some bad code that messes up your page.

I have this email relay problem, i.e. i can reply within reach of my home server but not if I am somewhere else. Home is KPNMail, Iphine provider is Vodafone. What should I do to get it to work?

Go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>your account>Outgoing mail Server SMTP>Primary Server then turn Server ON and fill in both User Name +Password under Outgoing Mail Server.
