Reloading a portlets jsf file?

I am displaying a weblogic portal. Portal is having a portlet which is jsp content file. This is degisned using jsf.
After clicking submit button in the page, it displays some results in a textbox. I need to reload the page again by clicking another button. That is, I need to perform some clean up steps like re initializing the beans and displaying the portal again. I dont want to redirect to a new page. I just want to reload the same page.
If any questions please let me know. How to do this?

Generally by binding a h:commandButton or h:commandLink to an action method of your choice where you initialize the beans, and then you return null to make JSF rerender the current page. That is so basic JSF, I can only assume I don't understand your question correctly. Please elaborate a bit more.

  • Why won't rich symbol properties show when the .jsf file exists?

In FW CS4 I've created a rich symbol via the "create symbol script" command, then I reloaded my common library, and put the symbol from common librray on a page.  Even though I have a .jsf file in C:\Documents and Settings\<user>Application Data\Adobe\Fireworks CS4\Common Library\Custom Symbols to match my symbol, there are no symbol properties available for it on my page.
I can use the create symbol script command again on this symbol & it comes up with the same properties I had already defined.
What would stop symbol properties from showing up when the symbol is taken from a recently reloaded Common Library & placed on a page?
I've discovered that I can see the properties when I use this symbol in a totally brand new Fireworks file, but I can't in an existing file that ever had that same symbol before, even when I tell FW to "Replace the existing item."
Below is my jsf file contents.
    Thanks!

Solution Found:  I had to explicitly delete the existing copy in my orginal FW file even though when I used the one from the common library I told it to "Replace the existing item"  I guess the replace doesn't really work for rich symbols.  After I deleted the symbol with the same name from the document library & pulled in the one from Common Library, it showed its rich symbol properties.

  • Is it possible to deploy a portlet war file on web container?

    Hi All,
Is it possible to deploy a portlet war file on web container i.e say I have a JSF or struts portlet application deployed on a portal container which I need to run as a web application.
So, I would need to deploy the application on web container.
Can this be done directly without making any changes and without importing jars?or is it not possible at all?
    Did anyone try this?
Would be very nice of you if you can reply asap.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Nishant

I'm not sure using the DVT enabler portlet will do what you want. It basically just specifies the render dependencies to bring in the dojo and dvt javascript libraries. It doesn't provide any login support itself; the javascript it brings responds to the logged-in state of the user (accessed via DISC), so something else is required to login the user.

Hello i had exactly the same error, but not with file upload.
I'm sure you have in your application lib directory to jars which aren't compatible to each other.
And the problem occured between my myfaces and tomahawk jars .
    See this page:
    http://wiki.apache.org/myfaces/CompatibilityMatrix
It tells you which myfaces and tomahawk jars you can use together.
    Hope it can help.

  • Portlet backing file vs content backing file

    Hi,
could someone explain the differences between a "portlet backing file" and a "content backing file". Both are properties available on a portlet.
    Thx
    Emmanuel

According to the documentation, here is the difference:
    Scoping and Backing Files
The difference between having a backing file as part of <netuix: portlet backingfile =some_value> or part of <netuix: jspContent backingfile=some_value> is related to scoping.
For example, if you have the backing file on the portlet itself, you can actually stop the portlet from rendering. If the backing file is at the jspContent level, the portlet portion of the control tree has already run; you use this implementation to run processes that are specifically for the JSP in the portlet.
    See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13155_01/wlp/docs103/portlets/building.html#wp1077130 for more info.

  • Creating .jsf file for command

created a command in Notepad and saved as .jsf file. But now
it only shows as a text file. Not sure why. Thanks

Well, jsf files are just text files, so it *is* a text file.
But, I imagine your use of "show" means by its icon? It appears
with a .txt-looking icon? Its possible you saved it as a .txt file
then. If you do not see the .txt extension, you probably have
extensions turned off for known extensions. Also, notepad will
automatically provide a .txt extension on all files saved from
notepad by default. If you want to save from notepad with a
different extension, then you can either put your file name with
the extension in quotes when you save (i.e. "myFile.jsf") or be
sure to change the Save as type drop-down in the the save dialog to
All Files. Then notepad will use whatever extension you give it
when saving the file (reverting to .txt if you provide no
    extension).
Alternatively, you can use Dreamweaver to program your JSF
files. I've included an extension that provides JSF code hints in
    Dreamweaver here:

  • Alternative approaches for Portlet backing File

    Hi All,
What would be the best alternate approach if i need to replace all the portlet backing files?

  • ErrorJarUpdate on deploying portlet war file

I'm trying to deploy a war file of portlets. Upon running pdeploy, I get the following errors in the pdeploy.debug log:
    10/07/2004 10:11:00:617 AM CDT: Thread[main,5,main]
    ERROR: Exception:
    com.sun.portal.portlet.cli.PortletDeployerException: errorJarUpdate
    at com.sun.portal.portlet.cli.PDDeploy.process(PDDeploy.java:219)
    at com.sun.portal.portlet.cli.PortletDeployerCommand.runCommand(PortletDeployerCommand.java:209)
    at com.sun.portal.portlet.cli.PortletDeployerMain.main(PortletDeployerMain.java:54)
Syntax of pdeploy command is correct, passwords are valid for both portal server admin and webserver admin and it doesn't appear to be related to file permissions - this is a stand-alone test environment so permissions are fairly wide open.
Suggestions on what else to look for?
    Dana

How are you specifying the "pdeploy" command?
I have actually ran into issues attempting to run pdeploy jsr 168 portlet WAR files and have discovered that you can get the "errorJarUpate" error for any generic issue from everything to having a bad element in one of your "xml" files to having an issue with your GenericPortlet implementation.
Have you tried running this with a simple "helloworld" type of portlet?

  • Troubles with .jsf files

    Hi,
I am working under Vista, Opera 9.64 and jre-6u12-windows-i586-p-s.exe.
When I click on a link in a web page including a .jsf file e.g. "https://www.ingdirect.fr/secure/public/displayLogin.jsf" the result is an empty sheet, my browser seems to search something.
If I try to open the same link under Firefox 3.1, there is no trouble, it works.
In Opera, Java, Javascript and Java plug-ins are activated. The following javascript options are acivated (allow window size changing, allow window displacement, allow status change, allow script to hide the address bar).
    Can someone help me please.

It's simpler to just reinstall the OS, followed by running Software Update. Reinstalling shouldn't take too long and only replaces the system components and the basic Apple apps, leaving all settings and other files alone.

  • How to make the browser reload an updated jar-file?

    Hi there,
Previosly when running applets using MSIE, all needed to reload an updated jar-file was pressing CTRL+F5
Currently I've been assigned to re-develop some of my old applets and now I realize that the old CTRL+F5 won't do the trick any more since the old jar file is still in the cache and the new jar file is not loaded.
I learned the hard way that all I can do is to manually clear the cache of the browser (Tools | Options | Delete files) and restart the browser and after that the new jar file is correctly loaded.
Cache settings of the browser is set to "Reload on every visit to the page"
Currently running Win2k, MSIE 6.0 SP1 and MSJVM 3809 but the problem also exists on Win2k, MSIE 6.0 and MSJVM 3186.
Isn't there any easier way to do this?
Currently I don't even mind not caching the jar-files at all as long as I don't get my development work trashed by having to restart the browser after every new build...
Why has the old CTRL+F5 behaviour been changed?
    BR
    /Jonas

I have been closing IE and reopening it for 7 months now. I don't of any other way to reload an applet.

  • Is it possible to use JSF file as as error page.

I am using jsf file as an error page.It is working in fine in websphere. But if i am using that only the exception is raised it is not going to error page.
    In Web.XML file,
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/faces/*</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    <error-page>
    <error-code>403</error-code>          <location>/faces/unauthorized.jsp</location>
    </error-page>
jsf codings are placed under *.jsp files. In the time submitting form data to server a method throws NumberFormatException. This exception information is displayed in console. but blankpage is coming . It is not redirected to error.jsp fle which is under faces/error.jsp.
If i am directly giving /error.jsp then it is giving Faces context is not created error.
So i tried use simple jsp(pure jsp) file wihtin the folder and i set path like /pages/foo.jsp. It is working.
Tell me is it possible to use jsf as error page.

What would you hope to do with the reference?  The Mathscript node doesn't have a file reading capability.  You need to read the file and pass the data into the Mathscript node.
EDIT: I stand corrected.  You need to use the fopen and fclose functions inside of the MathScript node to be able to read a file inside of it.

  • PC crashed trying to reload iTunes from XML file.

I am trying to reload iTunes library from a XML file. I followed the support suggestions of draging and droping the file into the music tab in itunes. As well as placeing the XML file into the iTunes library itself. I have had zero luck with either. If I open the XML file I can see a ton of script and code. Can you reload iTunes from XML file at all? Help Any suggestions would be great.

OK, I decided to give Apple more money and bought iTunes Match. It seems to be more headachs than it's worth. And it's neglected by Apple. Last time I'll be doing that! that's for sure!

  • Including JSF files

    Hi,
My customer is facing the following problem when trying to include 2 JSF files:
    page a.jsf defines a string : <% String bla = "Hello" %>
    after that definition, page a includes page b: <%@ include file="b.jsp" %>
when page b is embedded in page a, i want page b to use the string var <%=bla%>
technically page b does not have that variable, but when it's included in page a, it will inherit it and as long as page b is always included in page a, the code will work.
This does not compile (not surprisingly) but in JDev 10.1.2 it did.
Any way to make it work?
(the catalyst for this question is the requirement to include the mvnforum package into an OC4J mid tier, if you have any feedback on this, please let me know).
    Thanks,
    Tal.
