Reloading POS data.

Hi,
I need to reload data for extrator 0RT_PA_TRAN_TOTALS. Since the delta queue is empty, what is the best way to reload the data from the t-log tables?
One idea was to use a remote cube using 0RT_PA_TOTALS_REM and create a query. Use the query in an APD to populate the DSO. Than delta init 0RT_PA_TRAN_TOTALS for on going delta.

delete the data related to your master data if contained in any query, provider, hierarchy and navigational attribute (in this order)
delete the master data from the Infoobject reload the master data
activate the master data
You don't need to execute the attribute change run because nothing change since you have deleted all in the step before.
Check if you need compounding of Objects from different source system. . ???

I am not sure about your requirement, but yet.. Did you check UserSessionData object? It encompasses all the session variables.

Refresh/reload the data of a particular sector/subform/object

I've searched the forum for performance optimization, but I found only hints why a form may be slow.
For example, a lot of data in drop down boxes or inactive caching on server side......
But that doesn't help me really.
Is it possible not to reload the whole form? For example, to reload the data of a subform or a single table.

Hello,
in the latest releases the form is regenareted completely upon actions. There is only an XML data transmission to the server, and it returns an "update xml" what is merged into the PDF file by the reader.
In older releases unfortunatelly the form is always regenerated from the data and template.

Require help to solve Connection timed out error while reload initial data

I have installed SAP NetWeaver and SAP ME SDK 2.0 on my laptop and working from offshore, the SAP ME WIP and ODS database is situated at onsite. The installation is working fine, however, after developing Activity Hooks, at the step where I need to Reload Initial Data for the Site where I want the Activity to be used I get the below error message:

How to find out what is causing this error? When I use the hostname of the onsite SAP ME application pointing to the same database, Reload Initial Data works fine. I need to reload initial data from laptop SAP ME application only, beacause the activity hook classes reside on my laptop, before I send the SAPME.sca files for common server build.

Please try to increase PROCTIMEOUT ICM parameter for the corresponding server\port. If it does not help, please, check NW default traces for ME errors and share your results with us.

POS Data Management

Hi folks,
first I have to say that I'm a newbie in SAP but I have to try out a scenario with a connection from SAP Exchange Infrastructure (XI) to SAP POS Data Management (I think included in BW 3.5). Task is to transfer POS Data, stored in a XML-file, into the transaction database in the PIPE (POS Inbound Processing Engine).
My questions:
- Is there a special POS workbench in SAP BW?
- How can I write the data into the transaction database?
- Is there more information in the web about SAP POS Data Management?

UCCX upgrade, need to reload the data

I have just install 8.5 in the lab to test and I used a PUT file. I would like to reload that data without reinstalling UCCX.
Is there a flag that I can change to do this? or do I need to reload UCCX?

If I understand your query.
Now you have restored on UCCX 8.5 once using the PUT tool in the lab and will test it for a week.
After this you would like to take one more backup using the PUT tool on the older UCCX system, and Restore it again on the UCCX 8.5 system (built freshly), Yes you can do this. Provided that you have a License MAC (or you can request for new UCCX license incase if your license MAC is different from the previously build UCCX 8.5 system) matching your newly built UCCX 8.5 system.
Note: PUT tool version is very specific to each UCCX 8.x release, so please use the respective PUT tool to take the backup of the older UCCX system.
You can restore the sambackup of file multiple times also, but everytime you need to bring the UCCX 8.5 system freshly.

Regarding Reloading of Data Into The Cube

Hi All,
I have a situation where I have to reload the data into the InfoCube. The InfoCube is already having Full Load and Deltas for a period of 1 month. Now if I do a full load will I get the data as of today and can I do deltas tomorrow onwards after doing an Init???
Should I have to delete the Data from Delta Queue in Source System (RSA7)???
Please clarify me.

Hi,
if you already have intialisations on the cube you can do a repair ful load. which will bring all the data and you can continue using the delta functionality from tomorrow.

SAP BP Archiving: Reloading archived data

Hi Experts,
I've just managed to archive Business Partner data using transaction SARA. Now I need to verify if I can reload archived data and bring it back to 'life'.
Some SAP documentation suggests that reloading is not possible for some archiving objects. Is it possible that BP archiving object CA_BUPA might not be reloadable? on SARA, the "Reload" (GoTo>Reload) menu item is greyed out.
Please help.

This is SAP's answer with regard to BP reloading:
Dear Customer,
The Reload functionality is not officially released from SAP. The CRM application have not implemented the coding/functionality and hence you will not be able to Reload the Business Partner.
The central data part (Business Partner application) have implemented the required FMs but not all the other applications. Since not all the required components have implemented the reload feature we cannot reload the Business Partner as Business Partner should be loaded fully or not reloaded at all.
If you have any further queries regarding the same, please get in touch with SAP Solution Management or create a development request for the same.

Extraction of POS data to BW without using POS DM

Hi there.
Does anyone know a way of extracting POS data from the Triquestra Infinity POS system directly into BW without using POS DM. I'm at a site where they are just using POS as a front-end and transferring most data into SAP ECC but not all data. For the data that's not going into ECC, we want to extract it into BW - mainly around Cashier Statistics. However POS DM won't be configured. I thought we caould send IDocs to BW but then not sure what to do with these IDocs once in BW.
Anyone has any thoughts?

Hi,
You can use Xi. Or if there is a relational database system of the POS system, you can use dbconnect or udconnect to connect the POS system. But if you dont use POS DM it will be difficult to map the data. You may be required you create and map infocubes from scratch.

Switching among opened songs VInst plugs every time reload sound data!!!

Why does this happen? Every time I switch between 2 opened songs I have to wait reloading sound data of plugs with waste of time. Isn't there a workaround to this?

if they have similar sound samples, then make sure you have keep common samples in memory when switching songs.
if not, then don't have 2 large songs up at the same time - it's bad for your health anyway. if you need to transfer lots of nitty-griity data between the 2 songs then disable the audio driver. that'll speed up switching. when you're finished re-enable the driver and away you go.

Reloading Historical Data into Cube: 0IC_C03...

I'm working on SAP BW 7.3 and I have five years of historical data being loaded into InfoCube: 0IC_C03 (Material Stocks/Movements (as of 3.0B)) and the deltas are also scheduled (DataSources: 2LIS_03_BF & 2LIS_03_UM) for the InfoCube. I have new business requirement to reload the entire historical data into InfoCube with addition of "Fiscal Quarter" and I do not have a DSO in the data flow. I know its a bit tricky InfoCube (Inventory Management) to work on and reloading the entire historical data can be challenging.
1. How to approach this task, what steps should I take?
2. Drop/Delete entire data from InfoCube and then delete Setup Tables and refill these and then run "Repair Full Load", is this they way?
3. What key points should I keep in mind, as different BO reports are already running and using this InfoCube?
4. Should I run "Repair Full Load" requests for all DataSources( 2LIS_03_BX &2LIS_03_BF & 2LIS_03_UM) ?
I will appreciate any input.

Hi Tariq,
Unfortunately, you will need some downtime to execute a stock initialization in a live production system. Otherwise you cannot guarantee the data integrity. There are however certainly ways to minimize it. Please see SAP Note 753654 - How can downtime be reduced for setup table update. You can dramatically reduce the downtime to distinguish between closed and open periods. The closed periods can be updated retrospectively.
To make it more concrete, you could consider e.g. the periods prior to 2014 as "closed". You can then do the initialization starting from January 1, 2014. This will save you a lot of downtime. Closed periods can be uploaded retrospectively and do not require downtime.
Re. the marker update,please have a look at the document Re-initialization of the Material Stocks/Movements cube (0IC_C03) with 2LIS_03_BF, 2LIS_03_BX and 2LIS_03_UM in BW 7.x, step 10, 11, 12 and 13 contain important information.
Re. the steps, it looks OK for me but please double check with the document Re-initialization of the Material Stocks/Movements cube (0IC_C03) with 2LIS_03_BF, 2LIS_03_BX and 2LIS_03_UM in BW 7.x.

Retail POS Data

We have a requirement where in we need to transfer data from Retail POS system into BW cubes. I read in help portal that POS Inbound Processing Engine (PIPE) is used to pull the data from POS database.
1. Is PIPE available readily in BI system or do we need to install any pack or software?
2. Do we need to make any customization (SPRO)settings in BI?
3. Do we need to maintain any RFC connection?

Diadem View does not reload saved data correctly

I am not sure what is going on but my data which is loaded contains multiple groups with the same channel names. This data is from a repetitive test so the data in all the files is similar. I create tabs in view for each data group and plot five charts for each data set. Everything looks good and I save the .TDV and the .TDM files. The problem comes when I try to reload the .TDV file. The data plots are all wrong with the exception of a few. They also look to be the same plots carried through all of the tabs. Not sure what is going on here but would appreciate a little help.

How to reload archived data into SAP database for object FI_DOCUMNT

Hi..could any one plz let me know how can i reload the archived data which is on third party storage into sap database back. The archived data is related to FI_DOCUMNT. We don't have the Reload program for this object. The requirement is : Some of the FI documents are archived before being cleared. So, we want to reload the archived data back to SAP database and then do some modifications.
Please tell me how this is possible..thanks a lot in advance.

Thanks Mylene. I've already gone through the same note..i was just looking out for the new standard program or any one have created any new program for the same. I think it's better we must wait for SAP to launch its reload program or else it's not possible to reload the archived data for this object.

POS Data Management: Business Transaction fault

Hi folks,
I try to send retail data from SAP XI to a SAP BW System. Everything works fine but in the pos workbench business transaction won't generated. I think this business transactions will usualy generatd in runtime with informations from the retail data (e.g. transactionTypecode or transactionIndex). What the fault? Is there a configuration?
