REM process

Hi experts,
I have gone through the post regarding REM and just want to clear my doubts and confirm with you people.
1. you cannot track the production with respect to planned order.  Than how to track the past production which date how much and what we produced. In md62 we can see the bal qty to be produced.
2. we can confirm in MFBF the produced qty, activity and component, Is it the same we do in discrete in CO11N and cost is updated. Do we have to define the STD value key for the production line .
3. What will be the method of tracking in REM for different material planned order, like in discrete we have different order type and No range . but here all the production is carried out with order type PE. SO from user point of view what will be thing so that they can understand what manufacturing is going on by seeing the planned order etc, like in discrete we have different no range and order type to identify.
please answer my querries and correct me if I have understood something wrong.
Regards
Mona

Hi Monalisa,
1. you cannot track the production with respect to planned order. Than how to track the past production which date how much and what we produced. In md62 we can see the bal qty to be produced.
Ans: You can use transaction MF12 to check for documented backflushes. You can also check LIS transactions like MCP8 ( for GR analysis ect..) check EVALUATION section in SAP EASY ACCESS MENU in REM.
2. we can confirm in MFBF the produced qty, activity and component, Is it the same we do in discrete in CO11N and cost is updated. Do we have to define the STD value key for the production line .
Ans: Yes MFBF does basically same activaities as of CO11n. Cost is updated to product cost collector instead of  prod order. yes you still have to define STD value key.. thats how activity's can be costed.
Ans: you can use planning table MF50 to analyse the planning and porduction situation. You can not distinguish based on planned order number but you can distingusih based on production line in planning table.

  • Goods issue in REM process

    hi sir,
I am new to SAP, so plz guide me.
in Paper industry this is the actual
    Business Process:
In  papers industry  they have different varieties of paper production in which they are characterized by the GSM (thickness), sizes  and  grades. These characteristics are not given by customer, they are pre-defined and are fixed i.e based on the available variety of paper that is produced in paper  mill the customer makes the order for sheets or reels(FG). The different customer makes the order for different grades and GSM of paper. In 7th day of  every month they compile the orders in order to get the net quantity of paper quality type  to be produced and based on that the production is done. Remaining materials like pulp, power, steam, water treatment production are continuously takes place without any reference to the FG(paper) to be produced. There is fixed production lines.
    Eg:
A,B, C are the grades of paper.  If for A-10MT,5MT,15MT are the orders and for B-4MT,2MT similarly for C-15MT,20MT are the orders. Then totally for A-20MT, B-6MT and for C-35MT planned to produce in a month.
Note: If the customer needs the new variety or changes in the paper variety that is already available then R & D is made on that variety and a new name is given to it.
Hence, this is Make To Stock  with Repetitive manufacturing process.  Is this process is right??
As per SAP best practices in repetitive process scenario, there will wont be conversion of planned order to production/process order, based on planned order the production takes place and then we will do the Operative backflushing.
Here, the client requirement is on what basis the goods issue has to be done for production?? as there will be no production/process orders.

    Hi,
REM process has been developed by SAP for less complicated scenarios. I mean where product varieties are less and process is less complex.
That is the reason there is no concept of order. Cost is getting captured on the product cost collector lever rather individual order level(In discrete).
Goods issue is on planned order which is of PE type (Once order is LA type you can assign the material to planning table. Then it will be PE)
    GI happen through back flush.
Please refer the above links for better idea.

  • PRT - Updation of Mea.Doc. in REM Process

    Experts
I want the measurement document to be updated automatically when a production order is confirmed.
I tried this by creating an equipment as a PRT attaching measurement point (counter) to it and a plan. The measurement document was updated when i confirm my production order. But this process was in Discreet Manufacturing.
When I tried to do the same in REM process, measurement documents are not updated.
    Any suggestions ?

    Hello Mahesh,
    Thanks for your reply.
Your suggestion was valid if we were working with single step stock transfer process.
But as stated in the question , we are working with two stage process.
Here the stock determination button itself is not appearing on the SAP screen in MF60.
So I think your answer is not right Or may be let me know how
to bring the stock determination button on the SAP screen when you are creating the reservation.
    Waiting for your reply.

  • To find BOM from a closed Planned Order in REM process.

    Hi,
Pl. let me know how to find Planned order no. and its BOM which has been closed?
In mb51 we get only Order no. which is not the pld ord and we cannot get the bom.
    pl. help.

    Hi,
Planned Order details are available in Table : PLAF.
Once you convert a Planned order into Production Order the Planned Order will be deleted from PLAF.
You can only view the Planned order number from the Production order tables AFPO/AFKO where you need to provide the production order number and get the planned order number (PLNUM).
If you want to find the BOM items of the planned order which is converted to Production can be known from the table : RESB, where you can provide the Planned order number fetched from the AFPO/AFKO tables.
    Hope this will help you.

    in HELP.SAP.COM is the answer.
    Product Cost Collector
    Definition
Cost object in Product Cost by Period that collects the periodic actual costs incurred in the production of a material. When you use a product cost collector, the product is the main cost object.
    Use
Product cost collectors are independent of the production type. This means that you can collect actual costs on product cost collectors in the following production environments:
In order-related production (that is, when you are using production orders) when you want to analyze the costs by period rather than by lot
In process manufacturing (that is, when you are using process orders) when you want to analyze the costs by period rather than by lot
    Repetitive manufacturing
In repetitive manufacturing you always use product cost collectors as cost objects.
Product cost collectors are available from Release 4.5A onwards. In earlier releases, the costs of repetitive manufacturing materials were collected on production cost collectors. From Release 4.5A onwards, production cost collectors are converted into product cost collectors. For information on the conversion process, see Converting Production Cost Collectors into Product Cost Collectors.
    Order splits for production orders
When you split production orders, the costs for the parent order and child order are allocated to the same product cost collector.
See also: Order Splits in Cost Object Controlling
    Constraints
Product cost collectors cannot be used for the following objects and production environments:
Manufacturing orders that settle to a sales order item if you are using a nonvaluated sales order stock in sales-order-related production
Sales-order-related production with a valuated sales order stock, except in repetitive manufacturing environments
    Engineer-to-order environments
Manufacturing orders that are part of a collective order
    Joint production
Joint production is a production process that yields two or more products in a single production run. In the Product Cost Controlling component (CO-PC), there are a number of special processing requirements in joint production environments regarding Product Cost Planning (CO-PC-PCP) and Cost Object Controlling (CO-PC-OBJ).
In shop floor control, a manufacturing order (usually a process order) is created to manufacture co-products. In the manufacturing order, co-products are carried on the order items.
In Cost Object Controlling, actual costs are collected on the header of the manufacturing order. At the end of the period, the actual costs on the order header are distributed to the individual order items. Work in process and variances are calculated at the order item level. The order items are then settled.
    Integration
In joint production, the system normally accesses master data of Production Planning for the Process Industries (PP-PI) such as the master recipe and materials list, or master data of Production Planning (PP) . To distribute the planned and actual costs to the co-products, the system uses the apportionment structure that can be specified the material master record or in the manufacturing order itself.
    Terminology
    Co-product
You specify that a material is a co-product by selecting the Co-product indicator in the MRP view or costing view of its master record.
    Fixed-price co-product
    A fixed-price co-product is a special type of co-product.
    Primary product
You specify that a material is a primary product by selecting the Co-product indicator in the MRP view or costing view of its master record.
    Process material
A process material is a nonstock material that is used in the R/3 System to represent the process by which co-products are produced. Instead of the primary products, you can enter a process material in the recipe header and in the order header.
Process materials have material type PROC.
    By-product
A by-product is a product that is produced incidental to the production process of other products. You enter by-products in the material list of a primary product or process material with a negative quantity.
You do not set the Co-product indicator in the MRP view or costing view of the master records of by-products.
    Intra material
Intra materials only exist temporarily between two processing steps. Intra materials appear in the material list as items of category M, but are not costed.
If the process is interrupted because of a malfunction, however, intra materials may have to be transferred into inventory. In this case they are valuated with a price in the material master that is selected through the valuation variant for the valuation of goods received.
Intra materials have material type INTR.
    Circulating material
You can specify whether the cost of a circulating material should be included in the material list. The system selects a price for the circulating material from the costing view of the material master record.
If the circulating material is flagged as relevant to costing, the material costs appear in the itemization twice: once with a plus sign and once with a minus sign. The balance is the material input costs.

  • Operation confirmation display in REM

    Hi,
In my REM scenario, I am doing backflushing in MFBF, this leads to auto goods issue and auto GR of finished product( No reporting point backflushing). I am doing 'Post with correction' and then entering qty for goods issue and then actual timing for activities.
From the documents generated i can see how much goods are issued but from where can I check how much hours are entered for activities? moreover how can i change the data entered in activities if by mistake i have entered wrongly..
    Please guide
    Regards.

    1. if there is any report like we have in discrete COOIS??
No report is available for REM process like coois, but we can see doument with the doc number (for GI and GR post )
    in MB03.
    2. is there any status change in planned order like we have in production order GMPS, CNG, DLV??I am manually creating planned order in my scenario?
No, such status for the planned order. we need to confirm agaist the planned order. and once it confirmed . the particular planned oder ger vanished from the system.
eventhough you have created the planned order maanualy
    3
. in REM Is there any other way where we can have display of operation details which we have confirmed during activity backflush??
No such report is there to check the activity as doc. but if you see the post doc log. in mf41. you can see whthere the operation is posted or not. but we cannot see the actual hrs that posted against planned one.
    thanks

  • REM COGI

    Hi.
I have a clarification on REM process.
Like we have COGI lock (ie to stop incorrect good mvt)  for discrete items in OPK4 w.r.t Order type PP01, do we have anything of that sort for REM where we can stop posting in MFBF in case of shortage situation. How about MF42N also for COGI lock.
    regards

    Hi,
This you can control in REM Profile. In REM profile, Control data1 tab, under error correction for backflushing, Execute correction in dialog mode option is there. You need to select as Mandatory.
    Mandatory correction in dialog mode.
The system only allows the posting once you have corrected all errors. Therefore, no postprocessing records are created.

  • Actual consumed quantities and cost in REM

    Hi Gurus,
i am trying to create a report that compares the Target component qtys and cost Vs the actual component qts and cost for the finished product given the date range in REM process.
Please guide me to find the details for the above.
    Thank you,
    Naveen.A

    Dear Naveen,
There's no standard report in SAP for REM to fulfill this requirement.
Use the report MCRE for material usage analysis and you can get the document list in MB51.
Also check in KKF6N->after selecting the prod.version->under costs-->selecting the change layout
and here you will get the total target quantity and total actual quantity.
    Check this and come back.

  • Report in REM

    Hi Guru,
we are doing backflush in MFBF for REM process. Can we get a report to see the standard vs actual activity backflush planned orderwise?
    Regards
    Sandip

    Dear Sandip,
As our previous friends have said
    - REM since you were asking for activity and cost related activities you can use the KKF6N and the other transactions.
    - As in REM scenario process orders are not created the settlement is done using cost collectors we go with the above.
-For list of process orders the best transaction is COOISPI (it is similar to COOIS for production order) you can give your selection and get the output.
    Hope this clarifies.
    Best Regards

  • Officejet Pro 8600 Plus connection issue - HELP!

I have a strange issue:  after some hours, the communication link is dropped between the computer and printer.  When this happens, IE becomes unusable and will not connect to anything.  This is replicated on three XP home machines.   The fourth, a vista ultimate machine, does not seem to be affected (yet).  I get the "scan to computer is disabled" error.  It cannot be re-enabled.  At this point I cannot print either.  I can reach the embedded web server on the printer via firefox and can still surf using firefox.  I can ping the printer, but again once the connection is dropped, no printing or scanning to the computer.  The only thing I've found that resolves the issue (temporarily) is to reboot the computer, which just starts the cycle again.
last night I installed the software on an XP machine and the laptop to test when the connection dropped.  They lasted from 7pm Monday until I got home at 5pm Tues.  The machines were not used.  Once I started using them (firefox only), then they dropped the connection within a half hour of each other around 7pm.  The other XP machine lasted from 7pm Mon until 7am tues, when my wife started using it and then noticed it dropped sometime that tues between 7 and 9AM.  An 11am tues reboot ran OK until 10 pm tues when connection was lost again (and IE is now dead).   The Vista machine has been running since 7pm monday until now (930pm tues) and still seems to be holding.
printer hardwired, to router, static IP, 100-full link speed (also tried 10-half)
    router dlink di-655
two XP machines are hardwired, vista is hardwired, and last xp machine is a laptop on wireless.
I've swapped cables rebooted and reinstalled multiple times.  I must have a file a mile long on the support phone line.  They were unable to fix it.  I asked this to be escalated, but who knows when I'll get a response.
I've toggled firewalls - XP built in
    I've uninstalled anti virus software
I've even put up with crazy suggestions from tech support like changing the router channel (uhh, it is wired!)
one xp machine had an AIO 4215 hooked via USB and the others printed to it via network, but the printer has been deleted from the networked machines.
I can ping 127.0.0.1 which is supposed to indicate the tcp service is OK.
I have not reset winsock .. I can see one machine being bad, but three????
malware / virus scan shows no issues.  Again one maybe, but three??
The only thing I can think of is that there is something in the XP networking stack that conflicts with the new 8600 software as hours pass.  Perhaps there is some polling operation that goes on then dies after some time, then it kills IE as it dies.
When the printer works it is great, but rebooting is not a permanent solution to this.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!  I am stumped and so is tech support.  They are sending it to engineering, but who knows when they will respond.
    thanks in advance.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

well it looks like I have a working solution  ... I downloaded a freeware file called process.exe .  I made a cmd file via notepad with the following contents:
rem this is to keep the HP network printer communicating with the desktops
    rem
    process -k "hpnetworkcommunicator.exe"
    rem
    process -k "scantopcactivationapp.exe"
    rem
    "C:\Program Files\HP\HP Officejet Pro 8600\Bin\HPNetworkcommunicator.exe"
    rem
Start "" "C:\Program Files\HP\HP Officejet Pro 8600\Bin\ScanToPCActivationApp.exe" -deviceID CNXXXX:NW -scfn "HP Officejet Pro 8600 (Network)"
the XXXX is your printer serial number with an extra character or two.  Pull that number from the port tab after you pull up "properties" for the 8600 printer.
This cmd file basically restarts the printer link.  It opens a command window that launches the program to re-establish the link.. then it closes the command window.   The launched program shows that the communication link is dead (just for a few seconds), but then it makes the connection... THEN you hit the close button and coninue your work until it dies again.
I may have it autorun every X hours if I can narrow down a good time.  Until then I have a shortcut on the desktop to "FIX HP LINK"   ...   I only had to do this for my XP machines, as the vista one seemed OK.
What ticks me off is that I shouldn't have to do all of this diagnosis. It would be nice if there is a fix in the pipeline so the link stays stable al the time.  I've spent hours trying to figure this crap out.
Anyhow, I hope the time I spent helps someone.  PS, thanks to the OJ6500 thread that had the info for the scantopcactivationapp.exe program.
PS  ...  I'm still waiting for an engineer to contact me, if any HP employees are reading this.
PSS  I haven't tried this without killing and restarting the hpnetworkcommunicator stuff, but it works for now.

  • Target values shown as zreo in report KKBC_PKO

    Hi,
    This is REM process,
When we run the report KKBC_PKO for the material for the last period 10/2009.
system not showing values in the target cost for the report. but it show the values in the report for 09/2009
    what is the reason
what are the step to over thru this problem ?

    Dear Raj,
    1) Check in OMSY, which period is open & also check whether allowed Back posting is ticked or not
    2) Not only for this material, check for four to five materials in Costing -2 view what is current period
    3) then check in PCC, valid from & to dates

system not allow to change and show the error as
Product cost collector 000000750122 is still active (assigned to PrCtr 50601-025)

    any process to carryover
    thanks
Edited by: raj on May 24, 2010 12:22 PM

    Hi,
MRP is mainly configured for a material so that tere would not be any need for manual checking of the stock so as to create a PR.
The parameters which you have specified for a particular material like reorder point and lot size will help in planning for a particular material.
If you need only Qty of two (Less) then  there s no need of configuring a MRP for that material
And lot size is also decided basing on certain other factors like
    1) Lead time
    2) Transportation costs involved in procuring the material etc
So ifyou want to generate PR for a qty of 100 then you need ot change the lot size
I hope this gives you clarity
    Thanks & Regards

    Dear ,
Did you try MASS or MM70 Transction ?
If you do not want to go for Deletion flag of PCC  , you need to settle the REM qty  .You need to do product cost for semi finished product and finsihed product in KKF6N and after that you have to do mark and release in CK24N .For standard cat Estimate create std Cost estimation(CK11n)  and std cost Estimation Mark & release(CK24) .
1.Backflush (confirmation) the Planned order - MFBF. Results planned order will Reduced and GR,GI, activity cost will be posted. U need not convert the planned order to production order, Confirmation for planned order only.
    2.To see Backflushed documents MF12
3.Then Goto KKF6n to see the Manufaturing cost.
    4.Over head calculation - (Co42)
    5. Variance calculation (KKS6)
    6.Settlement(KK87)
    Try and revert back
