Remote Panel be viewed on any Smart Phones?

I'd like to view/control my remote panels from a phone with a touch screen instead of computer.  Is this possible?  I'm sure the phone would need to have the runtime engine installed.  Would it need to have a windows based operating system?  I've tried opening them with an Iphone but was not able to download the run-time engine, as a computer would automatically download.   I was wondering if I would have more success with a windows based smartphone.

It will not be possible, as you have found out, since it need to
have a runtime engine installed which is not available for LabVIEW. One
way to get around this is to use LabVIEW Web Services. It will allow you to build and deploy Web applications
over a network, making these applications available to any HTTP-capable
client. You can implement HTTP, a TCP-based protocol, on nearly any
computing platform ranging from large mainframe computers to tiny
embedded devices. Have a look at this link on how to go about setting this up:

Can I use any smart phone to play webcam flash games?
I'd tried to use my smartphone ( Android 2.2 + Flash Player 10 ) to play some "webcam flash games" with browser, but all failed, is anything necessary must downloaded to smartphone first? or any other system (for example, IE9? Windows Phone 7?) can make it?

  • I have a Nokia N97. I'm looking for a smartphone that is Blue tick approved for reception in rural Australia, which means only Telstra Next G. I would appreciate hearing about any smart phone with gd rural reception, and esp new versions of Android

There are reports of some 3G, or NextG ph's without a blue tick, with as good a reception as the blue ticks. This may include iphone, HTC Desire, and a new to Telstra shop Motorola Defy, that has a blue tick. Telstra staff are not able to give any information re upcoming models of smart phone + good rural reception

I was just having a look back at this post on the Q + A Session and had two thoughts:
    - Did Nokia ever address the questions that they deferred by saying they will get back to them later?
    - On Q9 the answer from the engineers that it was not an easy task to get Virtual RAM is a cop-out.
They admitted that the c: drive has memory paging and that this make apps run faster and smoother. That implies that apps installed on the mass memory won't run as fast or smoothly. I suspect that a lot of problems with apps are caused by being installed on the mass memory.
So where does that leave N97 owners, Nokia are very unlikely (like a snowballs chance in...) to recall N97s to have more memory fitted, so it goes without saying that Nokia should work on Virtual RAM from the Mass Memory as long as this can be accessed as fast as the c: drive (I don't know if this is even technically possible).
The decision to put such a small c: drive on the N97 was a terrible one, especially when you consider the position of this flagship device in relation to Nokia's move towards service with the Ovi Store and the additional overhead of the homescreen with widgets. Nokia all but acknowledged this by increasing the c: drive in the N97 mini. All I can hope is that Nokia have learnt from the bad publicity that this penny pinching exercise has caused and that whoever made the decision has either lost their job or been demoted to the most junior position in the company.
    Frustrated N97 owner.

  • Remote panels- server running application in log-off locked mode

I have not used remote panels before and was pondering if they would work if the server (Win Xp) running the application goes into workstation locked mode.
Company IT policy dictates that all PC's must go into locked screensaver mode after 15 minutes of inactivity. To reactivate, the user must log back in. Of course any applications continue to execute normally while in locked mode.
Would another user at another PC be able to view/control the front panel of a LabVIEW exe remotely while the server running the application is in locked mode?
    Thanks

"It’s the questions that drive us.”

The remote panel should continue to run while in locked mode.  If another user wanted to open the remote panel and view it, that should be ok too.  Remember that there are limits to the number of users that can be viewing a remote panel.  The limit depends on how many licenses you have.  info here
Because only one user can take control of the vi.  If the second user wanted to take control (and the first user had control) then the second user would not be able to take control.  The solution to this is to set time limits on how long a user can have control.  This is a configuration setting.

  • Remote Panel Shows Extra Space

I have setup a VI that serves up a remote panel. When it runs it hides the
menus, tools, and scroll bars. When the remote panel is viewed Internet
Explorer, the remote view of the VI shows space where the menus, tools, or
scroll bars used to be instead of shrinking them to the size like the VI
does. Is there any way to prevent this extra space from being displayed?
It wastes space and forces more scrolling within Internet Explorer.

This is an expected behavior. The IE gets the information about the front panel size when it loads the remote panel VI. This is the size with all the toolbars. Your VI hides the toolbars at run-time.
To prevent showing this extra space, you will have scroll your VI so that the top portion is under the toolbar. When you run it, those objects will be visible, because the toolbars will not be visible.
The actual VI will not look very good because of the objects hidden by the toolbars, but the published remote panel will have the right size in the IE.
I attached an example of this solution.

  • Header text not responsive at smart phone size & BG question

The header text doesn't fit into the view for a smart phone. I don't know how to correct that other than to change my width from 85% to 100% when at the smallest size (if that can be done). Help?
I thought it would be better to ask this next question on a new thread but both needed the code so I'll add that here:
The purse (& butterfly) images have an incomplete BG color. The partial upper BG color comes from div hover which really isn't a functional div. Since the image boxes are within the body but not a separate div I don't know how to get BG color (same as footer). help?

  • Smart phones not working

I recently went from a windows 3002 server housing exchange 2007 (everything working fine including smart phone connectivity) to a new box, Windows 2008R2 housing Exchange 2013 this past weekend. Every thing is working but the smartphone connections. I can't
get any smart phone connected. My iphone 4 comes up with "Exchange Account Unable to verify account information. two androids I have to work with both fail trying to authorize.
Anybody having smart phone connectivity problems with exchange 2013, especially with the iphone?
    Any help would be appreciated,
    RJM

    Hi Rod,
Ensure you have certificate installed on the Exchange 2013 server and it should be assigned to the DWS in IIS VD
Check authentication settings on IIS directory - basic and SSL should be checked
If still issue exists remove and recreate active sync virtual directory
Remove-ActiveSyncVirtualDirectory -Identity "Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync (Default Web Site)"
Create new VD with New-ActiveSyncVirtualDirectory parameter
Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question. That will encourage me - and others - to take time out to help you.

  • Not enough memory to complete this remote panel operation

I am developing my application in cFP 2000. I am using remote panel to view and operate the application. I am able to view the front panel from a host PC on the network for the first time through Internet Explorer (IE6). If I close the IE and then try to access the remote front panel, I get the error "Not enough memory to complete this remote panel operation" What could be the reason for this error. Please help me solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

I agree with Jonas suggestion re: RT Engine Info.
I beileve use need the following line in your LabVIEW.INI file to get that option.
    targetmeminfo=true
I threw together a VI that tracks memory usange vs time VI that has preved quire helpful. I will attach this Vi along with a llb that I pulled down of this site somewhere. They have some supprt VI that are required.
What I suggest you do is fire this VI up and watch how your memory behaves. What you will see (hopefully) is memory useage that converges on some constant level. When you open FP via LV-RT or the web served FP's, there will be spikes in memory usage. When these remote FP are closed, the memory usage will drop-off.
If the memory usage keeps climbing, you have a problem!
    NOW LE
T ME STOP and acknowledge that you may have some difficulty in trying to use the Get RT Engine info or using my utility if you really are out of memory. Let me suggest that you start by opening and running my utility first. If your code will not run and load with my utility running, don't give up! Try targeting the application and building the VI on the cFP 2000 and setting it to auto-boot. I have found that the compiled vesrions use a much smaller foot print than the development versions. Start your app by ressetting it and then target the cFP unit. You then load and start the utility I attached.
I have successfully deplyed app's that would only run as built app's on the cFP's. The cFP is very good at making you very aware of how you are using memory. THey are just a little tricky to work with. They make you appreciate the luxury of working with the cFP 2020's.
Post your code, and I'll take a look if you like.

  • Remote Panels not working in embedded viewing mode

    Hello,
I'm trying to develop a web version of my project using Labview remote panels. I configured the web server properties as it's described here: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/4791/en/
Currently I'm trying to create the web page on the web publishing tool. However when I select the Embedded viewing mode option I get an "Requested VI is not loaded into memory on the server computer" error on the web page that is created. But if I select Snapshot or Monitor viewing mode option the page is loaded without problems.
I'm using Labview 2013 and oppening the web page in google chrome. The VI from which I'm trying  to create a remote panel has some subVIs that show the front panel when called. Is there anything I'm forgetting to configure, or do I need to have any plugins instaled on my browser?
    Solved!

There you go, good solution. When doing this remember that you have access to the database on the server. A structure I have found effective is to use the server DB like a dropbox that I write to, and the web server reads from.

Not that I tried it, but what makes you think it is limited to a LAN?
Remote FPs work on TCP, so I would expect any kind of TCP connection you can form to work (like a modem). It probably won't work over a serial connection or something similar, if that's what you're asking (unless you know how to make it work like a network card).

  • If I buy a new iphone or any type of smart phone, will my imessages still be sent to my old iphone?

My sister had her iphone 3gs stolen, she went and got a new sim card and is not using a Samsung Flight II. The person who has the stolen phone is getting all of her imessages and has actually replied back to me. However, I am wondering if my sister goes and purchases a new iphone or some kind of smart phone will the messages continue to go to her iphone 3gs or would they go to her new phone? Thanks in advance!

In order to have a separate 5GB of storage he would need to have his own iCloud account with a separate ID.  You can still share the same ID for iTunes; it does not need to be the same as the ID used for iCloud.
In order to migrate his phone to a separate account, begin by saving any photo stream photos that he wants to keep on his phone to the camera roll by opening the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tapping Edit, then tap all the photos he wants to save, tap Share and tap Save to Camera Roll.
Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud on his phone, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  Other devices still using the account will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, choose Keep On My iPhone.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom).  Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to his new account.
Finally, if there is any merged data in the accounts you will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the data you don't want from each account.

  • My new IPad 3 cannot connect to WIFI even it has a full bar of the reception. In the same location, my PC and my smart phone get a full bar connection without any issues.  How can I do to fix the issues (can I switch to IPad 2)?

My new Ipad 3 cannot connect to WIFI even it has a full bar of reception. In the same location, my Windows 7 PC and Andorid Smart phone can connect to the same WIFI without any issues.  How can I fix it?  Without WIFI, the WIFI only IPAD is nearly useless. If it cannot be fixed, can I get a replacement for IPad 2?

Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation. If defective, you'll get a replacement.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

    Detail:
I've recently purchaced a 4TB Thunderbolt drive to store my "vast" music and photo libraries. iPhoto had an issue reading the moved library, so I bought and used iPhoto Library Manager to "rebuild" it. Apart from much of the original data such as date taken & camera used etc, it appears to be working well. The aforementioned mpg video was taken some 9 years ago, using an early model "iMate" smart phone, and opens and plays fine on iPhoto, but I cannot open it with anything else, (I've tried iMovie, VLC players, Wondershare and Handbrake) nor can I share it. I just want to edit it, and share it with family.
    Any help would be appreciated...

No - not iMovie, VLC, Wondershare or Handbrake... Quick time starts with a "CONVERTING", then I get
I've looked at the "tell me more" links, tried downloading some of the movie players there. I'm begining to think the file is corrupt.
Thanks for getting back to me again though - appreciate it...

I have purchased my first smart phone, an iphone 5.  I would like to use some of the sounds from text messages for ringtones but don't know how to move them over.   Any help would be appericated.

I'm sorry, had you already pointed out the rules which stated that lines from 2 separate accounts were eligible??? I don't see anywhere in the advertisement specifically stating that lines from 2 separate accounts would be eligible, so THAT is not what's advertised, either.
As far as I know Verizon's BOGO offers have ALWAYS been for lines on the same account. Possibly someone could chime in where they have received this offer on 2 separate accounts? The ONLY exception to this was someone getting the offer with 2 eligible lines on their account, reactivating the old phone on one of the lines and then giving one of the new phones to someone on another account.
Sorry if you think simply because someone disagrees with you, they are being condescending. That is certainly not the case. Good luck.
