Remote Setup

Hi
We are having 2 Locations, Like Factory and Head Office. On both the Locations
I am using the same structure database but the information is differents, I am synchronizing
the data from one location to another location. but each table i have to check and check the last
Record No and Date and transfer to another location. it takes long time
1. Is there any way where the oracle system should scan tables and synchronize fast on VPN ??
2. Is there any way where i can configure Win 2003 Server Schedule and it should automatically
connect to VPN and start synchronize with user interption.
Please Help me given Your Suggestions ASAP.
Regds/Sanjay Pathak

Sanjay,
Have you verified that the problem lies in the network between the two locations? In other words, are you sure that your queries to 'check the last Record No and Date' are as fast as they can be and that the problem really lies in the 'and transfer to another location' bit.
In answer to 1: you should probably be looking at Oracle Streams and/or Change Data Capture.
In answer to 2: I'm sure it's possible; just make a .sql script and invoke this with sqlplus from the scheduler.
You may also get more answers if you ask in the Oracle Replication or Oracle Streams forums

  • Remote Setup via WAN

I have a wireless network using an AEBS (2009) with 2 AX set up to "Extend a wireless network". Logging onto the AEBS remotely is pretty straightforward: File>Configure Other...> enter the IP and password and I'm good. However I'm not sure how to access the AX units remotely. Is there a procedure for entering their assigned IPs along with the AEBS IP initially or do they have to be set up in Port Forwarding?
I'm pretty new at this but I know that any changes involving passwords need to be done on the AX units first or else they won't appear in AU.
    TIA,
    Brian

Dang, 46 views and nobody has an opinion on this?
OK, How about this: on the AX options in Airport Utility there is the option to "Allow setup over the Internet using Bonjour"
    What does this mean exactly?

  • Exchange remote setup

I have setup a new exchange server within our office and I would like to set up remote OWA also. I've been gettign conflicting information on how to do this. Internally I can access remote.mydomain.com without a problem. but externally it's not working,
I get our companies website instead.
I assume I need to set up a dns record pointing to the exchange sever. We are a remote office and get our internet wirelessly from our ips.
    i.e.
Internet --> wireless antenna ( ex ip 31.31.31.31/internal ip 192.168.1.1) --> internal router (ip 192.168.0.1) --> exchange server (ip 192.168.0.10)
So if I'm setting up DNS records do the point at the  antenna ex ip? and do I need to set up any addition port forwarding on the antenna & router?

Your external firewall (at the wireless antenna) needs to have a distinct rule for your external OWA.  If you have the same name for your OWA server that your external web page has, this can't happen.  You need a totally unique name for your
external OWA.  In your case, your external website appears to be mapped to remote.mydomain.com, so you need a different name, such as mail.mydomain.com.  It is also possible that your external firewall is passing all traffic on port 443 and 80 (all
HTML traffic) to your external web page.  If this is the case, you need to reconfigure the firewall so it is proxying web pages, not just port traffic.  If your external firewall can't be configured this way, you need to replace it with one that
    can.

  • Cannot connect remotely, setup is correct but did not try port mapping, i don,t know how please help

could someone please point me to the possible areas on my server where i can check why i cannot connect remotely. I have been trying for the past two months without success. i did not tru port mapping cause I don;t know how to do this and I was told that port mapping on my time machine is done automatically. I am running a mac mini lio server 10.7.3 Time capsule.

Most people are going to see that message as a result of not properly closing Firefox, and then attempting to reopen Firefox. This problem is most likely to occur on Windows Operating systems, less frequently on Linux and Mac systems but not unheard of on any system.
Because you are on a Mac, I am referring you directly to an article that has been reworded for each operating system.
To properly close Firefox on your Mac use "Firefox" button -> Quit Firefox, and not with the "X" in corner of window which simply closes the window and not necessarily Firefox.
When you get stuck as you have described you must Force Firefox to terminate as described at the end of the article:
    Mac OS X
:Open Apple Menu and select "Force Quit". For Mac OS X 10.3 and later, you can also use the Activity Monitor found in your "Utilities" folder (Applications -> Utilities -> Activity Monitor).

  • My husband has paired his phone using the remote app to the TV- I would like to do the same with my phone. Can we pair more than one phone to the tv using the remote app ?

My husband has paired his phone using the remote app to the apple TV- I would like to do the same with my phone. Can we pair more than one phone to the tv using the remote app ?

Yes I believe so. Try it and see you can always delete the Apple TV from a remote if it messes things up.
But we have three remotes setup to do this. My iPhone and iPad and my wifes iPhone. She has a different iTunes logon but it seems to work fine

  • WRT310N No Way To Setup and Configure Router. CD Setup No, Web Based Setup No

Purchased New WTR310N yesterday. LESA does not run from CD. Web based Setup Page Will Not Load. Did two 2 hr Remote Setup sessions so far with Linksys Techs in Phillipines and India. After 1st Tech was done, nothing would connect to router. Tech tried to setup our 4 PCs by setting up one as a server and using ICS to setup the rest. Tech disabled TTP, DHCP, ete everything that works as a home network. I think Tech also setup a password and user name on Router without telling me. I had to spend 2 hrs using Vista and XP Wizards to setup a router network, both wired and wireless. Since Router is not configured yet can only access unsecured wireless networks. But 2 wireless printers do not work yet. Tech today was excellent in India. She reinstalled my Linksys USB Wireless Adapter that I use to print with. Still not printing, and green light not coming on, on USB Adapter. Tech managed to upgrade Router Firmware, but could never get web based router setup to load. Got the password and user name box to show up once, but admin and blank username does not work. My XBox 360 installed in 15 seconds and is fast so Router working fine. So need help with getting Linksys USB Wireless Adapters to access wireless printers and somehow get router admin pages to load so I can turn on WEP and type in our WEP Code. Last router was Linksys 54G, all worked fine for years, then quit working so got new router. Any ideas before I try calling Tech Support again, thanks.

As you want to make the network secured but the admin password is not working....You have to reset the router and re-configutre it again...
Press and hold the reset button for 60 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • Macbook air mid2012 can use the Remote Apple Control?

I want to know if a Macbook air mid2012 can work with the Remote Apple control. If so, how should I configure my macbook air to make it work?

No MacBook Airs can work with the Apple remote.  They do not have an IR sensor.
Apple are phasing the remote out.
If you have an iPhone, it can be set up to operate as a remote for your MBA.
There are 3rd party IR remote setups if having a remote is a must (say for training using Keynote).

  • Install ILMA in a remote machine

    Hello,
I would like to know if it's possible to install ILMA in a remote machine?
I want to install the database in one machine and the application server, APEX and ILMA in other machine.
Is it possible or I have to install everything is the same server?
    Best Regards.
    Óscar.

    Hi Óscar,
This is an interesting scenario. Presently, you must install everything on the machine targeted for management. The limitation centers around our PL/SQL package, which assumes that all data is local. If you install ILMA on one machine, it will know nothing about the remote setup.
This configuration has been suggested by others as well, so I am confident that we will consider the approach in a future release.
    Thanks for using ILMA!

  • Remote installation - invalid serial number: could not retrieve serial numb

I am unable to use the remote setup admin assistant, and get a demand for a serial number, yet when I enter it, get the message-"invalid serial number: could not retrieve serial number". Unfortunately the tech support number for the Philippines does not work (get a recording saying that it is not yet working), and the Australian number calling long distance is constantly busy. I have wasted two days trying to set up the mini server for this enterprise and am amazed that there is no easy way to contact Apple for a solution.

    Hi
Kind of obvious but which serial number are you using? Using the remote assistant requires the serial number of the MacMini itself. The first 8 letters. You'll find this serial number on the underside of the MacMini. Better still the box as it's easier to read. Although in the past it's not really been case sensitive I have found the last 2-3 years where keying in Caps where appropriate tends to be more successful. I have had a colleague report problems unless the whole of the Serial Number was used.
Apologies if you've already tried this.

  • Macbook won't talk to Airport Express WDS remote

I have two new Airport Express 802.11n access points, and an Airport Extreme (802.11n but not the latest model). One of the Expresses is connected to my DSL modem (wired ethernet) and is the 'main' WDS access point. The Extreme is acting as a relay, and the other Express is the WDS remote.
Here's the problem - the WDS network works fine with my Macbook Pro (model ID MacBookPro3,1) and I can use the remote WDS with no problems, but I have an early 2008 Macbook which simply will not connect to the remote express - but it has no problems connecting to either the Extreme or the WDS main Express.
The Airtport card type in my MBPro is "AirPort Extreme (0x168C, 0x87)", the card type in the Macbook is "Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (5.10.91.26)". Both laptops can see the same physical networks, and I don't think channel interference is a problem, because I'm on channel 6 and all the other networks I can see are on either channel 1 or 11.
I've tried swapping the two expresses, and that makes no difference. I've also checked that the Macbook can connect to both expresses when they are acting as the WDS main AP - so it appears to be when the express is acting as a remote (via the relay) that I get a problem.
Has anyone seen a similar problem? This configuration sould work, right?

I found a way to get a wireless configuration that serves my purposes. I'd tried swapping the expresses around to see if that helped, and reached a point where my extreme wouldn't extend any network I set up on an express, so I did a reset to factory defaults on both.
Once I'd done that, I created an 802.11n (5GHz) network using one express, and extended it using the extreme. Having done that, both my Macbook and Macbook Pro could pick up the extreme's extended network in the room where I had the second express, so that solved one problem (previously the Pro could see the extreme's network, but the Macbook couldn't - odd, since this is a polycarbonate bodied Macbook, and they normally have better wireless reception).
The only remaining issue was connecting some wired ethernet devices, which is the other reason I wanted the second express functioning as a WDS remote. Turns out that if you just want the express to bridge a wired network to a wireless one, you can do that by having the express join as a client, and enabling wired clients as well - I think that may be new to the 802.11n expresses.
Everything works perfectly now - both laptops have internet connectivity via the extreme and express; the wired devices are bridged onto the wireless network so they can talk to other machines elsewhere in the house, and the setup is much simpler because I'm not having to mess around with WDS details. I'm also hoping that an extended network like this loses less bandwidth than a main/relay/remote setup.
I never did get to the bottom of why the Macbook couldn't talk to the WDS remote - possible a factory reset on all three would also have resolved the problem, but I guess I'll never know now.

  • Can I control my Apple TV with a Samsung Smart Touch Remote?

I am trying to control my Apple TV2 with a Samsung 7 series Smart Touch remote. The Samsung universal remote options do not seem to work, nor does the Apple TV apear to be capable of reading inputs from the remote through the Apple TV 3rd party remote setup.

I do not know if anyone else noticed this. I have a Samsung Un55hu7250 and the above solution worked with one exception.
If you add it as a "Home Theater" type system then, you cannot tell the TV to use your actual home theater system for the volume control.
If you instead, On your tv got to system/device manager/Universal remote setup. Then choose blue ray device and type in apple. Select Apple, do the power on test, then select "no it didn't work". Then it will ask you to enter the model number of the Blue Ray device. Type in "Apple" in the search and it will list Both Apple1 and Apple2 in the device list. Select Apple2 and then you will have an Apple TV that is configured as a DVD Player so you can tell the TV to control the volume via the Home Theater system.
Net result, I have one remote again finally with Apple TV, Samsung TV, Dish Hopper, Sony BD, Antenna TV and surround sound. (Only if you are using the optical audio out to the theater system)

  • Setting up a pretty basic network AP extreme + 2 AP Express: tech advice

I have got this network to function for quite sometime but since a couple of days the LED light flashes repeatedly 5 times yellow and one persistent green. In AP Utility I get "wds error" and the dot changes color also in software.
The network I want to get going is - I guess - pretty basic. As main station, connected to the internet thru an ADSL-modem I have the AP Extreme. SInce I live in 2 stories flat and I need a max signal from one floor to the other (to stream music to a Slimdevices' Transporter) I thought I'd be using one AP Express as a link between the Extreme and the remotest AP Express, which turn feeds the Transporter. I should add: the Extreme BS is more than sufficient to provide for one floor (where I have 1 Powermac and 2 laps (1 Dell + 1 PB G4) so - if appropriate - one AP Express can be dedicated to just relaying the signal. I have had all this to work but now suddenly it starts ******** which is why I have to reevaluate my configuration = Extreme as basesation and the 2 Express-units as "WDS remotes".
My Qs are: How should I configure the different units? Esp the "middleman"; as relay??? For optimum signal: could I - or even SHOULD I - have both Express units set up as "WDS remotes"

Thanks for all patience. I reread the link you provided. After fiddling around with this some additional Qs pop up. I've set one as relay and the one serving my Transporter as remote. In APU looking at the Main station, ie The AP Extreme, under WDS there is a small window where you can add "remotes". In that window I should only add the actual WDS Remote, not the WDS Relay-unit, or??
In my 1st trial with the Relay/Remote setup I had added the relay - only - to that list, then I became aware of that tab stating "WDS Remotes" so I changed it around as described above. Now I get a flashing yellow on the Main and a "WDS Error" further explained as "This base station is set up to be part of a WDS network, but no WDS peers can be found".

  • How do I directly install Mountain Lion Server?

I'd like to upgrade my Lion Mac Mini Server to Mountain Lion. Currently I'd have to update it to 10.8 Client, then on the server, install the Server app. Is there anyway to consolidate those two steps into one? I'd like to directly install 10.8 Server so I could perform remote setup of the server in one step. Is that possible?

From what I understand, you would need to update the OS X Lion Server to the 10.8 Client version followed by the OS X 10.8 Server Add-on. I am not too sure if Apple is providing an unified step for this kind of procedure.

  • First Experience

Just wanted to share my first experience with my new Mac Mini Server so others may avoid some frustration.
Last night, I turned on my brand new Mac Mini Server. I already had an Apple Wireless Keyboard and Might Mouse and plugged in my usual LDC monitor using the HDMI-DVI converter. The first screen I see shows me that I need to turn on my mouse. Great so I do. I then proceed through the first couple screens of Setup Assistant until I have to enter the Mac OS X Server serial key. I then realize it never paired with my wireless keyboard and since I only have old PS2 keyboards and no USB keyboards, I'm presently hosed. So I turn the machine off and reboot a few times to find that Setup Assistant now disconnects the mouse when displaying the big "X" splash animation. Great, I can't even get back to where I was before. So I read the manual and proceed with a remote setup using my MacBook Pro. I install the Server Admin tools and it finds my MacMini. I click to select it and click the Set Up button. Nothing ever happened: Setup Assistant never opened. Great.
After a while I remember an old KVM switch which just happened to have PS2 inputs and USB outputs so I'm back in business. I finally get through Setup Assisant and now logged in to the administrator account. While running Software Update, it downloads both an Apple Wireless Keyboard firmware update and a Server Admin tools update. Well that probably explains my initial problems. Even after the update, it took several attempts to re-pair the keyboard. I never tried running remote Setup Assistant after that.
So lessons learned: a.) Make sure your wireless keyboard has the latest firmware updates before turning on your Mac Mini Server for the first time; b.) after installing Server Admin tools from the packaged DVD, check for and install updates before using them for remote setup.

As you do have a running XP maybe you start with a plain Sun Ray Server (5.2.3) to get started and to get familiar with the system (in fact, we are just using physical Win7 and lot of WTS as backend) ...
1.) Install Virtual Box (we are are running on ESX)
    2.) Install Solaris x64
    3.) Install Sun Ray Server
4.) Install Oracle Virtual Desktop Client on your Laptop
4.) Create a kiosk to your XP laptop like e.g
    -bash-3.00# utkiosk -e pc7145
    KIOSK_SESSION=uttsc
    KIOSK_SESSION_TIMEOUT_DETACHED=12000
    KIOSK_SESSION_ARGS=-l de-DE -E wallpaper -E theming -r scard:on xpXXXX (hostname of your XP PC)
    KIOSK_ENABLED=yes
as default kiosk ... (called uttsc in Sun Ray, i.e an RDP Connection to your PC)
5.) start OVDC and connect to your sun ray server, it will show up with with the login screen of your PC.
    more info is here http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/sunrayproducts/docs/index.html
I'm running such an environment for about 200 Sun Rays (HW), OVDC (SW) and in the future iPad Clients (iOS) in production, the only difference to your idea is that we are using ESX as Hypervirosr for the Sun Ray Server and not Virtual Box.
