HI All,
can someone tell me like which jsp i should edit in logon.par to remove the password reset link. I tried to find that but couldnt..
could someone help me in this regard.
Thank you

Hi shiva
These are the jsps in the logon par file.
The logon UI contains the following screens:
umLogonPage.jsp (user ID and password logon)
umLogonCertPage.jsp (initial storage of client certificate)
umResetPasswordPage.jsp (requesting a password reset after user forgot password)
changePasswordPage.jsp (changing password after the old one has expired)
umHelpPage.jsp (main logon help page where users can choose what type of help they require)
umLogonProblemPage.jsp (sending an email to the administrator)
umLogoffPage.jsp (displays logoff confirmation)
For resetting the umResetPasswordPage.jsp is used.

  • HT4798 Does password reset with multiple Apple IDs work for you?

I'm using 10.7.4. We have more than one valid Apple ID. Each when attached to one user profile can make use of the password reset feature using the Apple ID. If more than one Apple ID is assigned to a profile it no longer allows either to reset the profile. Is there something that I'm missing?

Hmm if you've changed your password and go to the icloud preferences, it normally prompts you to input the password.  This didn't happen?  I would sign out of icloud and sign back in.  It'll warn you for some items they'll be removed from your computer, and that's fine.  They'll be stored in icloud and return when you sign back in.  If you want to make sure they're in icloud before signing out, go to icloud.com and sign in.  Poke around there to verify the data is there.

  • Top 2 workable way to Create Windows 7 Password Reset Disk in any condition

This article describes how to create and use a Windows 7 password reset disk for a computer before and after you forgot the password. You can use Windows 7 password reset CD to gain access to your computer.
Scenario 1: I dont forget the password yet.
Windows 7 has its own backup feature, and you can proactively create a Windows 7 password reset disk before you forget it. With it, you can easily reset your Windows 7 password and get right into your PC.
Follow the easy steps below to create a password reset disk to your own Windows 7 account. Heres how:
Note that this procedure requires one blank, formatted floppy disk.
    1. Click on "Start"->"Control"->"User Accounts and Family Safety"->"User Accounts".
    2. In the task pane, click "Create a password reset disk". The "Forgotten Password Wizard" appears.
    3. Click "Next", and then choose the portable media drive.
    4. Click "Next", and then enter your current password in the next box and click "Next".
    5. Windows 7 begin to create the password reset disk on your chosen media. When the progress bar reaches 100% complete, click "Next" and then click "Finish".
    6. Now you can remove your device and store the disk in a safe place. Once you forget the password in the future, you can take it out.
Follow the easy steps below to use a password reset disk to recover Windows 7 password. Heres how:
    1. The created password disk can now be used during log-ins to reset the password. A reset password link appears on the account screen after an unsuccessful attempt to log in.
    2. Click on "Rest Password", and the "Password Reset Wizard" dialog opens. Here you need to insert the reset disk to the PC.
    3. Follow the wizard to type a new password twice to make sure you type the correct password. You are suggested to create a new password hint, so that you can remember the password with it if you forget it.
    4. Windows switches to the Windows log-in screen again where you can use the new password to log in.
Scenario 2: I have already forgotten the password.
If you have already forgotten your Windows 7 password but dont have a password reset disk at hand, you can choose another way to reset the password.
Here is how to create Windows 7 password reset CD/USB:
    1. This procedure needs a CD or USB flash drive. Insert your media device into another computer which can access to system as administrator.
    2. Launch Windows 7 password reset disk software. On the main interface, choose "reset Windows local account password".
    3. Choose your target device, and click "Burn" to start Windows 7 password reset disk creation.
Here is how to reset Windows 7 password:
    1. With this Windows 7 Password Reset USB software, boot the computer that you want to reset the password for.
    2. Under Windows PE, you enter the main interface of this software. Choose your Windows system, and select the user account you need to reset password.
    3. Click "Reset", and then "Yes" & "OK" sequentially to finish removing Windows 7 password.
Quite easy, isn't it? After fully control system password reset, you will never worry about your bad memory

  • Windows Server 2000 Advanced - Administrator Password Reset/Recovery

I took over tech job for church that has Windows 2000 advanced server environment that has mirrored hard drives...Previous tech or person that installed server does not want to play nice with the administrator password and changes have to be made...I
do have an account without administrator privileges but that does not help...so I attempted to reset or blank the administrator with a password reset disk and was not successful...when the partition mounts (while using reset disk) it shows that the
password has been blanked (*BLANK*) but it still does not work...I've also tried putting the hard drives in a regular desktop, used the password reset disk and administrator password showed to be blanked, so I blanked it again for
safe measure, replaced the drives in server and was still not successful...please advise

First of all thanks for your response Amy...Yes it is the domain controller and only server for 7 users and 6 computers...and yes you were right about the DSRM password getting blanked...was able to log into DSRM with blank administrator password but
that did me no good as I was still not able to make changes to the domain because (you may already know) Active Directory is not available in DSRM (it says to logon with domain administration rights)...my goal is to obtain domain
administrator access in order to make changes:  add/remove users and computer account (which is the password the previous tech will not provide)...since this is such a small domain do I need restore Active Directory to reset or get domain administrator
access? Authoritative Restore?  Which method, as a system state backup has never been done?...please advise

  • Vendor mapping and password resets in EP7

    Good day,
This is my first thread, so please bare with me.
I'm currently faced with a challenge regarding Vendor mappings and password resets.
We make use of EP7.0 and Netweaver 2004s for the backend. SRM version is 5.0. We map the vendors in the portal to the relevant backend systems. After setting the passwords for the vendors in the backend, we have to log in with the ID's to hard set the passwords. The vendors are set as dialog users and thus their passwords need to be reset regularly, in our case, every 30 days.
My question is this: Is there a better way of managing the vendor mappings, like for instance making them service users which removes the need to change passwords, as from what I understand, it's actually the vendor groups that are mapped to backend users and not every user that belongs to the vendor group. The users still need to log onto the portal with their passwords.
    Any ideas are welcome.
    John

If its One Portal User to One backend user, you can eliminate this need of password resetting by configuring Logon tickets.
From what I understood is it that you have many portal users all mapped to a common backend user?

  • Equium A200 - Can't make password reset disk on CD

    W/Vista, Pioneer DVD-RW
Can't make password reset disk on CD, all I get is - This feature requires removable media, such as floppy drive or USB flash drive.
Are CD's or DVD's not classed as removable media now?
In help and support it states - you'll need _removable media_ such as a USB flash drive or _CD_..
Any help on this would be appreciated.

Are CD's or DVD's not classed as removable media now?
In my opinion it is the question for Microsoft because you try to use Vista feature and, as far as I know, notebook manufacturers have nothing to do with it.
To be honest for me it is pretty logic. If you want to use such disc it should be small and compact. The best disc for these purposes is USB memory stick. You can put it in every pocket and have with you.
In my opinion CD media is not so adequate for this. What you think about it?

  • Ios7 parental controls password reset

How do I iOS 7 parental controls password reset or view?

I found this on the web and helped me edit an file and reset it to a passcode I could remember. These instructions are for more advance people with some understanding of programming and remember you do this at your own risk. Please don't blame me or anyone else for "bricking" iPhone or iPad if you do it wrong. Here are the instructions:
    Download iBackupBot
    Connect iPhone/iPod/iPad via USB
    Backup device to iTunes
Close iTunes (leave your device plugged in to your computer)
Open iBackupBot - this will open all device backups that it can find
Select your backup from the left column
Sort right hand pane by Path and locate "Library/Preferences/com.apple.springboard.plist" (there may be two files named this; try them both) and double-click to open
Extracted it (and only it) to the desktop. Do this by Checkmark the file, then select the Extract Icon (or File - Export menu), then select the checkbox that says only that file and the other checkbox that says something about Info about the file. Two files will appear on your desktop - one ending in plist and the other ending in .info.
Edit com.apple.springboard.plist with you favourite plist editor (e.g. Xcode)
Look for and change the string for "SBParentalControlsFailedAttempts" to 0
    Add in<key>SBParentalControlsPIN</key> <string>1234</string>
    after
    <dict> <key>countryCode</key> <string>us</string> </dict>
Save your changes, and return to iBackupBot
Import the modified plist. It is now in the backup!
    Exit iBackupBot
Open iTunes and use Restore Backup to your device
After restore is done and phone restarts the password should be 1234.
I reset my son's iPhone with this method after I forgot the passcode. This worked on iOS 7 iPhone 4.

  • Yahoo security password resets are causing misery ...

Yahoo has stepped up it's security and as a result is forcing many of us to reset our passwords when their program detects 'unusual activity' Quite what that means I don't think anyone really knows. I have been forced to change my passwords twice in the past three weeks. The ensuing havoc this causes is extraordinary. The password resets itself for brower access but it can take days or weeks for the servers to be updated for Outlook or Blackberry to be able to use the password. I have no spent some twenty hours trying to sort this out. It is a problem that BT is unaware of although I have made four complaints about it. BT seems to have structured itself to be largely ineffective to deal with any complaint. There is no person that you can speak to that actually can take responsibility. An organisation that is so slow to respond and so poorly organised to respond to customer problems in a effective way is going to loose my business. When they call you and can't reach you they just leave a message that they will call back. It would make sense to leave a contact name and number where you could call the technical line back when the customer is available. it is small things like this that show that this company has lost touch with pretty much all its values and principles. I have been BT for over 30 years and I have seen this company disintegrate into a confused mess.. I feel as sorry for the staff as for the customers, who have been structured into small cogs in the system with no power to actually solve things.

You have all had trouble with your password??? I have had this for months and it is only in the past week that this has stopped happening.People didn't believe me when I said  my email client couldn't  access the server. The cure[for a day] was to go to the BT yahoo sign in remove my correct password and re-instate it --that worked-for a day -so every day for  several months  I had to do this all the time. It has stopped at the moment but I wont be holding my breath I have had major problems with BT yahoo over several years and will be glad when that virus is removed and I am transferred to CP Yahoo high-jacks you to its paid for sites  changes your tabs and bookmarks -sent me to the US yahoo website and the only option 2 years ago was to pay a website -to GET BACK TO BT YAHOO!!- It has multible accounts  on Yahoo that I cant remove All business -The US-China-Italy many more ALL on my account I cant remove. I complained here and  somone must have seen the complaint of an armed protection company who were using my account -that has now gone but the US government still think I run a government agency for the Native Americans and invite me to apply for grants for them. I will jump for joy!! when the yahoo trojan is removed from BT.

  • Help with Bios Password Reset Service

I am trying to use the Bios Password Reset Service for Power On password and Hard Drive Password. The current setting in the Bios is "Enabled, In Progress". The Bios sidebar help tells me that in order to complete registration for this function to open the Create Recovery Media application and "follow instructions". I am lost, there is nothing there about the Password Reset Service. I have already created the Recovery disks and even a Rescue Media disk.
I have found that in the Client Security Solution application, under the advanced tab there is a "Setup Hardware Password Reset" function but it is greyed out!
Since this function is available for selection in Bios shouldn't I be able to use it?
I am using the Windows logon password recovery function in Client Security with no problems.
    Any ideas??
    Thank you!!
    Installed BIOS: 7LETC5WW (2.25-1.08) Release Date: 2009/01/08
    Client Security Solution version: 8.20.0023.00
PS. I don't want to circumvent any passwords, I just want to activate the Hardware Password Recovery function in case I ever need it.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    UPDATE:
In case anyone cares, I was finally able to figure out how to activate the Hardware Password Reset feature in my T61. Here is the solution, at least in my case:
1)Found the file in Program Files->Lenovo->Client Security Solution->HwPwReset.exe
2)Ran the file and followed the instructions
3)A "Secure Environment" was created in the hardrive and the laptop restarted
4)The laptop booted into the Secure Environment where I was asked to establish 3 security questions and answers.
5)The laptop restarted and the status of the Pasword Reset function in BIOS changed to Registered.
Now if I ever forget the Power-on or Hardrive passwords all I have to do is press F12 on boot-up, select Password Reset option, answer my security questions and voila, passwords are reset or removed. Very nice!
BTW, I called Lenovo technical support twice and after talking to 3 "techs" and one supervisor they had no clue on how to do this. Go figure!

  • Involuntary/Malicious Password Reset

Two times now I have had my user password reset/changed without my knowing or permission. I log off my computer and when I come back my account password is no longer recognized. I'm 100% sure there is no live person altering the password from my physical machine. I'm also 100% sure I did NOT forget my password. Is this a bug? Or is it worse? Do I have some other security breach perhaps over my cable connection?
    Please Help!
    Bart
    iMac G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Hi Bart,
The OS does a good job logging. I would start by looking at your current system.log. Look for problems with authentication and lines that reference when the sudo command has run. Also look at the archived system logs compare the different logs. Look for remote logins in the wtmp log. Also check wtmp's archived logs. This is done with the last command in the Terminal.app, the archived logs will have to be unzipped to look at them. Check the secure.log. The secure.log records instances when GUI apps run at an elevated level, also logins. A good cracker knows how to cover his tracks. You may find nothing in the logs indicating your computer had an intruder.
If you feel your computer has been compromised then remove it from the internet connection. Back-up your user home folder. Clone your start up drive to a diskimage. If you can't then make a copy of the /bin, /etc, and /var directories. This can be used as evidence should you report the intrusion.
You need to re-install the OS. It might be a good idea to reformat the drive and zero the drive to flag bad blocks. Reconnect the computer to the internet and turn on the firewall. Use sofware update to update the OS to the highest level with all security updates. Reinstall any third party apps from installers not from any back up. Your user data should be re-introduced selectively and then only data files. Check that none of these files have the executable bit set. Use a virus scanner (Clamav) to check the files. And make sure you choose a good password.

Or, has Linksys provided me with an anchor for my collection?
I've inherited a PC22224 switch here at work.

Here is the ONLY way I can find to RESET the admin password on a Linksys/Cisco PC22224
managed switch!  It's not horribly complicated at all.
Basically, you download the software configuration file from a working switch of the exact
same model and upload it to the "broken" switch with the password you need reset!
First, you MUST have a working PC22224 switch that you KNOW its admin password!
Hook that switch up from the console to a computer that uses something similar to
Hyperterminal. There are plenty of instructions on how to do that in it's manual, so I
won't get off in that area!
Boot up and login as "admin".
Go to the "Advance Management" tab.
    Select "File Transfer".
    Select "Send File via Kermit"
Select the first file "S/W Config. File".
When you see "Transfer File Now?", select "Yes".
Now you must go to the top of Hyperterminal and
select the "Transfer" tab and then select "Receive File".
You should soon start transmitting a file (mine was called "aswcfg.rom").
It should show the file name. Remember the file name AND where it is transferring!
This is important, because you will need to know where to find it next when we start
sending it to your "broken" switch!
When it finishes, disconnect your AC and serial cable from that switch
and move them over to your "broken" switch that needs the password reset!
Boot up your "broken" switch, as soon as you see the prompts on the screen,
    type "esc".
You should see a prompt that looks like this "Boot>"
    Now, type "upload",
You should see "Start Kermit Upload Now" on the screen.
Now you must go back to the top of Hyperterminal and
select the "Transfer" tab and then select "Send File".
Select the file you just downloaded (mine was called "aswcfg.rom")
Once it finishes downloading it will flash the rom with the new code.
After it is complete, you can reboot the machine and log into the
admin account with the same password you used on the working
machine you downloaded the new code from!
Let me know if you have any problems!
You can send Jack Daniels or other kudos to me for this fix.

  • Bios password reset for HP 6735s (not 6735b) laptop

Recently, I managed to find a replacement board for my laptop however I found out that there was an issue with getting into the systems BIOS as there was a password set and the company I bought that board off had no clue what it was set to.
Now I have tried all of the simple ways like removing the CMOS battery and trying the backdoor password (which I might add never worked) but still cant get into the bios to update it or change the boot sequence. I even requested some information about this issue directly to HP Support and they cant help due to the fact that the software they have to do this only work on 2009 and later models (my machine was built 2008).
I have all the information including the UUID however cant seem to find either a DOS application that will succesfully view or reset the password or anyone that would be able to point me in the direction of such a appliocation.
Before anyone says anything about a reset button or anything that simple, I have tried all that and have no such jumper or switch on the mainboard.
