Remove some mounted device from Desktop

Hi People,
i have several AFP/CIFS share on my home network.
And i'd like that some one do not appear on desktop when mounted, while others should.
(For example, i'd like to see "music" share, but not "backup" one, and so on).
Is it possible to do this ?
thanks in advice,
Eugenio

I don't know any way to do that except by using afp automount as described here
http://rajeev.name/blog/2007/11/23/autofs-goodness-in-apples-leopard-105-part-ii /
any share automounted this way won't show up on the desktop but will show up in the sidebar. however, when I try to do it, I have to drill a long way to get from the sidebar to the share so I don't know if you'll find that more convenient. I wouldn't.

  • How can I remove a Input device from my Mac?

Hello, I would like to know how I can remove a input device from the Sound area in System Preferences. I installed Wiretap Anywhere a sound input program for my Mac and did not realize It was not supported for Moutain Lion. I put the application in the trash and then emptied the trash can. Now whenever I try to start GarageBand or a program like that it crashes my computer. In the Input tab of Sound (System Preferences) It is listed as Wiretap: System Audio.
I would like to remove this from the Input tab so I can use my Mac reguarly. Any Ideas on how to fix it?
    Thanks,
    Justin

Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
Here are some general guidelines. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickYourMac.” First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickyourmac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickYourMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickYourMac.” If not, open “BrickYourMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button.
You may have to log out or reboot in order to complete an uninstallation.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase your boot volume and perform a clean reinstallation of OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" that purport to remove software.

how can i remove an associated device from my iTunes account?

See, "Removing an associated device or computer from an Apple ID"  here >  iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID
Your iTunes account is the same as your Apple ID.

remove the ipod device from the account

Is it an old account of yours, or did you buy the device from another person ? If you bought the device from somebody else and it's linked to the previous owner's account then you will need to contact the previous owner, he/she is the only person who can remove it : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515
If it's your account and you can't remember your id (you can't remember an account id that you've had starting with a gmail.com email address, starting with 'e', as its primary email address ?) and/or password then have you tried the http://iforgot.apple.com link ?
Or if you can't get the password reset via that link then you can try contacting Support in your country : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699

  • Can I remove some applications permanently from my PowerBook?

When I don't play or use some applications on my iPhone, I just uncheck the application on iPhone > Applications of iTune, and syncing to remove from iPhone. But is there a way to remove the applications permanently from my iPhone > Applications of iTune on my PowerBook?
    Thanks in advance for help.

Select the app, tap the delete key on your keyboard or use the iTunes Edit menu -> delete. Select the "keep files" button if you want to keep the app in your iTunes mobile applications folder, otherwise select "Move to Trash".

  • I have removed some ADM templates from group policy but are still showing in RSOP

I removed some old custom ADM templates from group policy but they are still showing up when I run RSOP.MSC.
How do I get RSOP.msc not to show these old custom ADM templates?  I'm not able to find what I'm looking for in my searches.

    Hi,
Even you remove these custom ADM templates, the policy settings configured by these custom ADM templates still exist. We can try to import these ADM templates again then un-configure
the policy settings set by these custom ADM templates. After refreshing the policy settings, we can delete the custom ADM templates.
    Best Regards,
    Erin
Thanks.  That almost works.  When I import a new updated template with a different name but with some of the same settings, the old template shows up again.

  • Removing previous used devices from Cloud

What I am trying to do is remove a couple of devices from my "BT Cloud". I have launched the control panel software on the computer, hovered over the device I intended to remove (via link Link Here) and hovered over the unit for the tick box in the top right corner to appear, to which in the menu at the top of the screen, the 'More' option will become available, to allow me to remove the device I want, but it does not.
I wonder if you will be able to assist me in this manner?
I am using an Apple MacBook Late 2008 with OS of 10.7.5
I have clicked on the icon on the upper right too view "Settings" to no avail, but I see an option to Log out ALL Devices, but I dont want to do that, only remove three devices that I no longer use.
    Thanks

  • How to remove recently accessed channel from desktop session in sun one 7

Actually we are facing one issue with the desktop session . We created a container and then deployed our jsr 168 portlet in that. Now if we are accessing that portlet through http://host:port/portal/dt?provider=<containerchannel>/<channelfor jsr168> we are actually able to see the portlet. Now we kept the link in one of the menu items of enterprise sample. Now if we click on that link our portlet gets displayed in new window. But the problem is if we refresh the enterprise sample page then it is showing our portlet instead of the content that should be shown in enterprise sample. Can we remove the channel from the desktop session.
Any help will be highly appreciated

Change your iCloud ID password and the old device will no longer have access to your iCloud account.  You can change it here: https://iforgot.apple.com/iForgot/iForgot.html.  After doing so, you'll need to change it on all your devices too.

  • How do I remove all connected devices from my itunes account?

I recently let a friend use my itunes account to download an app on their 3rd gen ipod touch. I have already changed my password and email address associated with my itunes account. Their ipod was never synced to my computer, so it does not come up when I got into my itunes account and try to manage all the devices associated with it. I've already used my deauthorize all button once before. My ultimate goal is to have the app disappear on their ipod touch, is there anyway to do that? Was just changing my email address and password enough to get it off of their ipod touch?

Changing the access list associated with your account won't delete content off his iPod.
Changing the account prevents him from downloading new content under your account, including updates to existing applications, but it won't remove currently-installed applications. That will only happen when the device is connected to iTunes and a manual sync is performed.

I don't understand "when there is a multiple listing" above.
But here's how to remove an iPhone from your iTunes account:
Open iTunes on your computer, and go to Store > View My Apple ID in iTunes' menu.  Sign in, go to "Manage Devices", and remove it there.

  • I can't remove my old devices from iCloud

    Hello,
Apple start new feature on iCloud.com same like in iOS named SETTINGS. In "My Device" section I see all my apple device, but I found that I had seen my old macbook and my old iPhone 5s (see the screenshot). When I sold my old device I made factory reset and remove before that from "Find My Device". Any idea how I can remove them forever.
    Thanks!

I'd wait a while.  A number of people have complained about this and I suspect Apple will find a way to remove them (such as by removing them automatically after a certain period of inactivity).
You can help influence this by providing your feedback here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/icloud.html.

  • Accidentally removed an authorised device from itunes

    Under iTunes
Use Store > View My Account
Under iTunes in the Cloud click Manage Devices. I accidentally removed the wrong iphone as an authorised device. How do I re-authorise it?
iTunes will no longer recognise that the device is plugged in to my Windows 8 laptop.

The last time I seriously had an issue with iTunes was several
versions ago, and I had to find and remove several files other
than just the iTunes application in order to reinstall an all new
(or All-Old) installation; so none of the former items were inside
the computer. And that's been so long ago, I am uncertain now
what items, hidden in several folders, need to be tossed out.
{There are Packages, such as iTunes Access, iTunes X, iTunes,
etc in the system; there may be plists (preferences) or other
    related stuff. Almost a mystery in where the right ones hide out.}
You should not have to worry about the iTunes music library,
since it can be left where it belongs unless you are reverting
to an iTunes player that can't support some new codec or
    compression, or other technologies.
But since you aren't going back to an earlier version, you
only have to remove the section of the installed iTunes
that is not the Application itself; perhaps a preference plist
or Application support file has some iTunes parts, to toss.
The replacement item to that you accidentally lost would
not be reinstalled unless the computer sees it has No iTunes
files of the type that radio station (and others) existed in.
So, tossing & emptying Trash won't get rid of these other files.
That's where the necessity to know where to go comes in.
And like I said, it has been several versions ago, when I had
to remove all iTunes support files (except music library) and
reinstall - then, it was to revert to a version one number older.
That's the direction to take, though. Try a search for 'reverting
iTunes' in google to see what kinds of articles show up.
PS: There are a few uninstaller utilities for Mac OS X that
may be able to help find & remove all the items iTunes in-
stalled in the first place; of course, I can't recall the names.
    It's only 2AM here.
    Good luck & happy computing!
