Remove TestStand 4.0 comments

My TS 3.5 sequence has comments on almost every step ( there are hundreds). In 4.0 this causes the a lot of confusion because there isn't a seperate column. Can I turn off all comments at once or do I have to go through and manually remove them?
kph

Right click in the step list area and select Step List Configurations>>Edit Step List Configurations.  Click the Edit.. button and uncheck Appearance>>Display Step Comments.
If you want to display the comments in a separate column, like in 3.5, goto the Columns page, click the Add button, select Comment from the Type combobox and enter Comment for the Caption.

  • How to remove Reports Default XML Comment

We have a report (Oracle Reports 10.1.2.0.2).
And in the report the following Comment line is generated.
<!-- Generated by Oracle Reports version 10.1.2.0.2 -->
Is there a way to eliminate this line?
this is important because some governmental organisations cannot process an XML with this comment in it.

You can use different first page property, and remove it from other pages.

  • Auto-Removal of .lib reference comment code?

[Pls keep in mind that English is not my native language - German is.]
    Hello there,
from working with Golive we are used that .lib references are being removed from the source code automatically when the page is being uploaded via FTP.
Now with DW it is no longer the case. We can only upload it with the .lib references in the code or have to go through the hassle as to export the whole site completely elsewhere with the markup removal AND THEN upload it in cleared code.
As we have way to many web projects that extra step would practically kill our workflow and make it extremely fragile.
And yes, we do want the code removal. Appearently for most it seems not to be so important - for us it was the reason to stay with an almost antique version of Golive for an extremly long time.
This is discussion is not intended to discuss you may or may not find it neccessary to have that function, but whether it is possible to have the comment removal directly when uploading. Does CS5 do that? Why is it only possible with an extra export of the site in another local version?
As for us - we are also working with a subversion server, which also ensures us to actually have the original coded version with all the references simultanuesly.

DW does have the ability to strip comments out of the source code.
    e.g. http://forums.adobe.com/message/1032675
That thread is pretty much unrelated to this question though.  You can create a Regular expression to strip all comments from the code, or to only strip the Library item comments from the code.  But this must be done manually on each page.  That's hardly a useful tool in this instance.
DW has no ability to strip anything from the code at the moment that a page is uploaded.  You can certainly suggest this to the dev team as a potential feature for future versions, however -

  • How to unlock and remove comments in Adobe Reader X for WIN 7?

A while ago I left a comment in an adobe file and now I want to change it or remove it. The problem is that I can't do anything to the comment, because it is locked and it seems that I don't have the permission to do that. I run Win 7, 64bit.
When I select properties on the comment by right clicking on it in the Comment List on the right in the Properies window the Locked checkbox is empty, gray and unselectable. The fact that the Locked checkbox is empty should mean that the comment is not locked but there is an icon next to it that pictures a small lock. I am confused. Is it locked? Is it not? Is there anything I can do to remove or change this comment?
Next to the Locked checkbox is a Make Properties Default checkbox which is selectable but I believe unrelated to what I want to do. What do I do?

I do not know what causes this; I do not have any such problem on a very similar system.  But if I did have such a problem, I would
make sure the latest Adobe Reader version is installed
make sure all Windows updates are installed
check if there is a newer printer driver version available
see if temporarily disable AV would prevent the problem
    Sorry, no other ideas.

To delete, first try holding down the option (alt or ⌥) key while emptying.

  • How do I report / remove comments?

I've had my comments removed but I don't see how to remove other people's comments that are irrelevant to the question I post.

You can't. Only the Hosts (Moderators) can remove posts, and they do this when a post has breached the Terms of Use - for example by ranting rather than asking a question, trying to discuss or speculate about Apple's future policy, or plain rudeness. When a post is removed for this reason the perpetrator is advised by email.
However your may have had posts removed because they were a response to a post which has been removed, and so would have no function - you wouldn't be notified in that case.
Decisions on what to remove are entirely up to the Hosts, though posters at Level 2 and above can draw the Hosts' attention to anything which seems dubious.
If you have a serious reason for wanting a post removed - personal abuse, for example - then post the details here and someone will probably alert the Hosts to it. However simple irrelevance isn't likely to get a post removed.

  • Cc desktop app crashs after language switch, cant be removed, cant be installed again

2nd big trouble after beeing in the c.cloud for some weeks now.. I haven't seen the Adobe.forums in all the years as a customer so often before as I did in the last weeks..
What did happen? I have swichted the language in the cc desktop app from German to English, because I need to download Photoshop in english.
During the download the app crashed. Now it is crashing immediately after launch. I can not uninstall it, the uninstaller crashs, I can not download/install a new version, this is crashing too.
    System: OSX 10.9.4
    This hint here:
CC Applications crash immediately after launch
..must be a bad joke, how should you access the settings if it crashs immediately..?
I have also tried these hints (exept no4), last time it helped, this time no success:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html
Comment to No4): removing all Adobe software, using the cleaning tool and start again is no option at all, this is too time consuming and cant be the solution just to get this little app running again. This is Windows95ish.. format your harddrive and start again.. ...come on Adobe you could do better...

    **UPDATE**
Called up Adobe Tech support for a 3rd time, and this time got someone who was willing to work with me on this. Since the past two times we've used the "Install Now" option in Creative Cloud Desktop to update the application, which usually leads to failure, we tried to dump the current install and start fresh with the desktop app. Uninstalling the CC Desktop doesn't remove any of the installed programs.
Do try this alternate method we:
    Uninstalled Creative Cloud Desktop application
    Restarted
Downloaded and installed the latest version of Creative Cloud Desktop at Free Creative Cloud | Download Adobe Creative Cloud free trial
Once it launched it took about 20 seconds to sync up with the applications I currently have installed, but recognized they were there, and indicated there were updates!
    Ran all the updates
This is why I seldom take the first "no" as an answer...
I hope that this helps someone else out.

  • Security conflict with Reader-commentable PDFs?

I am having some trouble understanding what security options I have with PDFs that I make commentable in Reader.
I create my PDFs by printing to Adobe PDF from Word.  I apply a password, allow printing, and allow commenting.  Then, I open the PDF in Acrobat Pro 8, remove security and select Comments > Enable for Commenting in Adobe Reader (not allowed if I don't first remove security).  This prompts me to save the file under a different name.  This gives me a PDF that is commentable in Reader, but wide open with no security if I send it to someone who has Acrobat Pro.
If I re-apply a password, then it seems to save ok but if I close and re-open the file, the password doesn't work.  I get an incorrect password error.
Is commenting in Reader incompatible with Pro security settings?  It seems a bit risky, I can't be absolutely certain where my files end up and whether someone in the organisation will have Pro, not just reader.  I'm not sure whether I've just overlooked something small, or am doing things in the wrong order.  Any suggestions most gratefully accepted.

After Enable for Commenting in Adobe Reader you can't set password security.

  • Not displaying comment info

Hi i have a problem where we were given a txt file and a class to read and print out the contents of the text file. My job is to make a method to remove all of the comment info for example all the words that come after the // or /***/ and just leave the actual class remaining.
Im lost and if anyone could help guide me in the right direction it would be much appriciated.

Well, the original post didn't mention anything about "line by line" (hint, hint, call a readLine() method).
Actually, it might get a little bit tricky with ignoring text within strings. For example, if you have
    System.out.println("Keep \" this: /** value **/");{code}
You preserve the value because it's in between the 2 quotes. You also have to be careful not to count that quote in the middle because it's escaped.
I notice that the sun forum recognizes escaped quotes and comments within quotes properly, so clearly it's not an impossible task, heh.  Just a few extra conditional checks and a bit more testing than what you might think at first glance.

  • Deployment error:Error Code:-17500, Unknown System Error in TestStand - Read Seq Files in Workspace.vi-

    Help!
When trying to deploy a test system i got the following error:
    Error Code:-17500
Unknown System Error in TestStand - Read Seq Files in Workspace.vi->TestStand - Find Dependent Files.vi->TestStand - Add File and Dependent Files.vi->TestStand - Add All TestStand User Files to File Info Array.vi->TestStand - Update File Info.vi->TestStand - Distribution Wizard GUI.vi->TestStand - Deployment Utility Splash Screen.vi
I then tried to re-deploy previously successfully deployed systems - same error. (I have done nothing to my teststand setup/installation/engine or deployment files since the last successful deployment)
I removed teststand & then re-installed it - i still got the same error. These files it is searching for do not exist on my pc.
Any ideas what has gone wrong/how to fix it?
    cheers
    Fi

I've just had exactly the same problem and after posting a message, have been forwarded to this thread. Luckily it looks as though we've found a solution, or a cause of the problem. One of my work colleagues (SercoSteve on discussion forums) suggested removing the Teststand 3.1\cfg directory, and replacing it with a default one from another machine, and this seems to have done the trick and made the deployment wizard be able to analyse the files and build. We are editing files in cfg so I've now got the task of replacing each file in this directory one by one to find which is causing the problem.
I'll add another post when I find out which one it is.

  • The TestStand Engine cannot be initialized. Path not found.

Hi, up until now i installed and removed TestStand 3.5 3 times in a row, just to always get this message (see subject) when i try to start the Sequence Editor. I even uninstalled all NI-Software i had on this laptop to reinstall the whole package... Nothing worked. Now i wonder, is there anything i am doing wrong ? What can i do to get TestStand running ?
Well, on that message when i hit OK, another message
The sequence editor cannot start up. Unable to create the TestStand Engine.
Hitting OK on that message again just terminates the sequence editor leaving me with a blank screen.
    Any ideas whats wrong ?
best regards and thanks in advance,
    Ingo
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Ingo -
Sorry for your frustration. Your idea to uninstall and reinstall should typically work. The second message is just a result of the first error, so we need to figure out what path is not found, and it is unclear why this is occurring. I tried to force my copy of TestStand 3.5 to fail in a similiar way by messing around with the installation and I could not find a way to cause the "Path not found" error. I got many other more detailed errors, but I have been unable to duplicate your message.
    Some questions:
    1) What operating system are you using?
    2) Are you installing to the default location under Program Files? Are you using a network path in any way?
    3) Do you have write authority to the the installation locations on you system?
    4) Are you logged in as an administrator when installing, restarting, and launching the sequence editor.
    5) Have you manually messed with any of the registry settings under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\National Instruments\TestStand\3.5, where something is incorrect?
    6) Have you added any User components under the TestStand directory that might somehow load and cause an issue?
If you currently have an installation on the system, you could quickly try to clear out the Cfg directory under TestStand, so that it generates new copies of these files.

  • Adding review comments make error message occurs

    Hi all,
I inserted some review comments to my topic to remind myself that I need to update some sections in this topic later. But after compiling the help file to .chm file, I clicked this topic and got the error message "An error has occured in the script on this page."
I came back to the RoboHelp workspace and removed all those review comments then this problem is resolved.
Anyone has this experience, please help me. Thanks.

Please see the Sticky Topic "Before you post" and always start threads with the edition and version of RoboHelp that you are using. It can affect the answer.
Are you talking about Track Changes in RoboHelp 9 or a home brewed version of marking up a topic.
It sounds as if the highlighting was a red herring and nothing to do with the problem. What script is running in the page?
