Removing Hamachi

Question

Hi, I seem to be having trouble removing part of Hamachi for OS X. The actual network tunneling program that it installs, called tun/tap, continuously outputs error messages to the Console:
12/21/07 9:01:14 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (tuncfgd[337]) posix_spawnp("/usr/sbin/tuncfg", ...): No such file or directory
12/21/07 9:01:14 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (tuncfgd[337]) Exited with exit code: 1
12/21/07 9:01:14 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (tuncfgd) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
This is after removing all of the components as per the uninstallation instructions distributed with the source code, however a similar error message was output (minus the first line) was occurring before that, outputting roughly every 30 seconds.
I'm not too savvy with how launchd works, is there some place I need to remove a call to tuncfgd or is there some other method I need to use to get rid of this?

Ah ha! I found it.
I have been having the same problem and finally decided to fix it.
I deleted all the hamachi files yesterday
<pre> /usr/bin/hamachi & /usr/bin/hamachi-init & /usr/sbin/tuncfg </pre>
but launchd is still trying to run tuncfg without success. (even less success than before; tuncfgd was continually dying even before i deleted it)
Hamachi's install apparently does a very bad thing. It puts the launchd plist in the SYSTEM/Library/LaunchDaemons folder, as opposed to the /Library/LD's or ~/Library/LD's ! bad programmer, bad!
The Answer:
anyways, basically you gotta remove this file as well:
<pre>/System/Library/LaunchDaemons/tuncfgd.plist</pre>
and to be extra clean about it, BEFORE removing that file you could do a
<pre>sudo launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/tuncfgd.plist</pre>
(in the Terminal of course)
which will get launchd to forget about tuncfgd and it's launchd config file before deleting said config file.
