Removing ink cartridge from HP office jet 6600 printer

I replaced all four ink cartridges in my HP Officejet 6600 printer (almost new) and now I can't get the black cartridge out.  The original cartrige was a 932 and I replaced it with a 932XL so it is larger than the original one.  It seems to be jammed in the machine.
Has anyone else had that problem?
I don't like this printer at all.  It doesn't seem to stay connected (it's a wireless) and prints terrible colored pictures.

Hi janius,
I am sorry to hear that you have had such difficulty with this printer. I suggest contacting phone support. Hp printers come with a 1 year manufacture warranty, and from the sounds of it you have had the printer for a short period of time. Even if the printer is out of warranty, it is still worth calling as HP will have in and out of warranty options.
The number to call HP is 1-800-474-6836 for Canada and US, or you can Contact HP Worldwide.

  • I have a C5580 AND a C5280...and can't remove ink cartridges from either of them.

I can't remove the ink cartridges in either printer. It looks like the little flat plastic plate that sits directly in front of the installed cartridges, is sitting too high and blocks the inks from being removed.  I think the plastic plate should probably be lowering itself automatically, when the cartridges move to the right and stop for easy removal...right? How can I fix that?

OK, sorry I could not help.
The service station is the assembly on the right, the capping station and plate that block access to the cartridges are all part of that mechanism.  If the plate is not moving out of the way the service station mechanism is not operating properly.
Similarily, if there is a carriage jam message it is an indication that the carriage is not moving correctly, or that the sensor that detects carriage movement is not operating.  In the latter case the carriage would likely slam to the edge of the printer, that seems to not be the case so it is likely related to a blocked movement of the carriage.  This may be caused by a blocked service station.
At any rate, I will not waste your time with any further discussion in this thread.

  • Office Jet 6600 Printing Problems

Replaced all 4 printing cartridges with HP authorized cartridges, and it appears only the Black & Magenta are printing. Cyan & Yellow are not. What needs to be done to get the cyan and yellow to print.

    Hey @srw99 ,
Thank you for taking the time to post on the HP Forums today! Hope you enjoy the experience.
I understand you are unable to get ink to print from your Yellow & Cyan; meanwhile, you can print fine from your Black & Magenta. You say that you just purchased genuine HP ink cartridges. Does this mean that before you were using non-HP ink before or refilled ink before?
Are you receiving any error at all that can help me identify the issue?
Is there no ink coming out or just a very feint amount?
Have you tried to do printhead cleaning? If not please take some time and go through these instructions and clean the printhead using the automated cleaning tool.
    1. Go to the Front Panel of the printer.
    2. Select the Setup menu.
    3. Select the Tools sub-category.
    4. Select the Clean Printhead option.
Clean the printhead as many times as you need to fix the issue as long as after every time you see improvement. If you don't see any improvement then do not continue after the 3rd cleaning.
Let me know how this goes and get back to me when you get the chance. Have a great day and a wonderful holiday season!

  • Scanning to computer from HP Office jet 6600

I have a Mac OS X 10.9.4. It will not allow me to scan to my computer. I get a notice that Scan to computer cannot be enabled. I have tried downloading from HP, and still no luck. Any ideas or instructions on what I can do?

Hi there @JellyBean13 , welcome to the forums!
I read your post about how you cannot scan from your Officejet 6600 to your Mac running 10.9. I have a few ideas that might help you.
    Try these steps:
Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system
    Repair disk permissions
    Restart the Mac
Re-add the printer (do not use the AirPrint driver)
I hope that helps, have a great weekend

  • HP Office Jet 6600, cost of 933 HP ink cartridges same for regular and xl?

    Hi,
The XL cartridges are physically same size with the normal cartridges, only THE volumes of ink inside are not the same. Normally the volume of ink inside a XLcartridge is more than double the volume of ink inside a normal cartridge.
Hope this helps. Note: they must be physcally same size otherwise they won't fit.

  • Help! Error HP Office Jet 6600

I used my HP Office Jet 6600 All in one; yesterday to make several copies and it worked just fine. Today when I went to make some copies, the printer read "Error: There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn th printer off, then on. If problem persists. Contact HP" I have done this numerous times. Nothing, I contacted HP and all the help/advice that they could give was try cleaning out the ink cartridges. I also did this, but that did nothing.  So I am left with problem. has this happened to anyone? Anyone have any suggestions?

  • I have a Office Jet 6600 and cannot get it to print. I have power to the monitor.

I have an HP Office Jet 6600 and it stopped printing. I use HP ink 932xl and 933xl. The message on my  computer is: Missing or failed print head. The print head appears to be missing, incorrectly installed or incompatible. The monotor states: There is a problem with the printer or the ink system. Turn the printer off, than on. If the problem persis contact HP. So please tell how I can get my printer to work. This problem start about 3 weeks ago but I was out of the country  for 12 days. I rebooted the desk top and ended up with 1 print job but than this famous message became trapped in my computer.

Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion p6-2127c Desktop Computer. Based on the specs, your computer has one DVI-D (digital) out and one VGA (analog) out. No adapter is going to change the DVI-D to VGA.
    (#1) - DVI-D (digital out only)     (#2) - VGA (analog out only)
Using a VGA analog "dual tail adapter" won't work either. With both monitors connected to the VGA port, your computer won't be able to identify the correct monitor settings because of communications conflicts between the devices. This setup will only work with one DVI-D monitor and one VGA monitor.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus fried by thunderstorm - how can I removed ink cartridges

A thunderstorm last week fried the power supply of my OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus. The printer is beyond economical repair so I have ordered a new printer.
With no power, the ink cartridge carriage is stuck in the far right position where it is impossible to remove the four relatively new ink cartridges. Ink is not cheap ... would like to be able to salvage the ink cartridges from the disabled printer but cannot figure out how to release the carriage.
    Any sugguestions would be appreciated.
    This question was solved.

    Hello ,
Welcome back to the HP Support Forums!
Sorry to hear about the Officejet 8600 taking that kind of damage in a storm. Regarding the inks not being accessible, the only thing I can think is to reference the carriage jam support guide.
A 'Carriage Jam' Message Displays on the Printer Control Panel
The only thing I can really offer as a suggestion is try manually moving the carriage over. If it is locked into position and are unable to move the carriage, if you fell comfortable, use a screw driver to "assist" the carriage to move. Since the printer is damaged and you are already planning / have replaced it, it wont hurt it.
    Cheers,

  • Hp Deskjet 6988 Wireless Printer Can't Remove Ink Cartridge. White piece in the way.

Unable to remove ink cartridges there is a white plastic card in the way. It has icons of an arrow pointing to a circle and what appears to be a clock.
How do I move it so I can replace my ink?

Hi @Re-Creativity , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you are experiencing cartridge issues. I would like to help!
I would recommend starting with a power reset. Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
    I'd then recommend this document:
