Removinga field from the segment which is already released

Hi Folks,
I have created a custom segment & released it. But later when I want to remove a field from it I'm not able to do so. I tried to cancel the release of the segment & then make the required changes but while tried to cancel the release I'm getting an error saying "Error while resetting release of segment ZDATA_BASIC_SEG". Kindly let me know how could I remove the field from this segment. For your information the current release of our system is 700 & the release of segment is also 700.

As you said, current release of your system is 700 & the release of segment is also 700.
I tried to test the possible errors during the release of the segment. Please have a breakpoint in the program LEDIJF05 in the form CHANGE_CLOSE_SEGDEF. The error could be mismatch with the previous definition of the segment, where the release is not equal to 700.

I thought about another option, so I'd like to know what you think about it.
If I set this vehicle's status (OIGV-VEH_STATUS) as 2 (Vehicle to be deleted) and run SARA with object OIG_VEHCLE, will it be successfully archived if the TD Shipment's still in the database with status=6?
And... let's suppose it get archived somehow. Will I be able to use this very same vehicle code (OIGV-VEHICLE) to create a different (another) vehicle?

Error while adding new field in the Segment type thru WE31.

Hi All,
I want to add one field in the Z segment type using WE31.But i am getting the error message as
'Current segment definition <segment name> can no longer be changed and The current segment definition
is already released.You can either add a new segment definition or cancel the release of the current segment definition'.
The current segment defenition which i am trying to change got the SAP release of 45B. But the system has upgraded to Ecc6 recently.
I tried going to the edit menu and cancel the release, but still it is not allowing.
Whats the impact of the Add button(Add version) and creating a new version?.will it create a new version for ECC6?.

You can create a new version. This will not create any problems. You might not be able to cancel the release because of upgrade.

Deleting AET custom field from the SAP tableu2019s level.

Hi experts,
I am deleting few un-used custom fields in AET. I am able to see delete symbol as status in AET. Although deleted custom fields are present in lot of structure and tables (eg: CRMD_ORDERADM_H) in SAP GUI tables. I want to delete the custom field from SAP GUI tables and structures.
I tried to delete custom field from the SAP GUI tableu2019s level. But it is not allowing.
Please get me some clue on deleting custom field from the SAP GUI tableu2019s level.

Hi,
The deletion of custom field in AET happens in two steps:
1. You select a custom field that you want to delete, than you press on the delete icon in the Custom Field Assignment Block.
Doing this, you mark the selected custom field to be deleted.
2. You press on "Save and Generate" button. The "Save" will persist the deletion mark of the custom field. It means the custom field is marked to be deleted in the database. The "Generate" will process all the deletion of objects which are needed to delete the custom field, for example: Domain, Data Element, Append, etc.
If the "Generate" does not happen due any reason, the deletion mark is already persisted in DB. It means, later on if you go back to AET, you will see that the custom field is marked to be deleted, but it is not yet deleted.
If you do not press "Save and Generate" button at all, it means, you do not persist the deletion mark in DB. Later on if you go back to AET, you won't see that the custom field marked to be deleted.
Note: Please make sure, "Generation" is only applied for field that is flagged to be generated. The "Generate" flag column is by default hidden. You can use personlization to show the column.

I am new with Idocs and i have to change 2 fields from a segment in my idoc.Is this possible.If yes,how can they be modified?
Also i tried to place a break-point in my FM that generates the idoc but the debugger does not stop in my FM,eventhough the idoc is generated with succes.Help please.

Creating Custom IDoc type and Message type
All the objects created should be present on both source as well as target system(s).
1. Create segments - Transaction WE31
Create a segment ZRZSEG1
Add all fields of table ZCUSTOMERS to it
Save the segment
Release it using the menu path Edit -> Set Release
Similarly create two more segments given below
Seg. ZRZSEG2 - to hold all fields of table ZSOHEADERS
Seg. ZRZSEG3 - to hold all fields of table ZSOITEMS
2. Create Basic IDoc type - Transaction WE30
Create a Basic type ZRZORDER
Add the created segments in the hierarchy shown
Maintain attributes for each of the segments
Save the object and go back
Release the object using the menu path Edit -> Set Release
3. Create/Assign Message type - Transactions WE81/WE82
Go to WE81
Create a new Message type ZRZSO_MT
Save the object
Go to WE82 and create new entry
Assign the message type ZRZSO_MT to the basic type ZRZORDER
Also specify the Release Version
Save the object
Thus we have defined the IDoc structure which will hold the data to be transferred.

Getting Error while deleting a field from the 'Z' Structure

I have created a 'z' structure in which i have 5 fields, now i want to delete one field from the structure, but it is giving me error like Invalid Change.
Its a structure so i cant activate and adjust as we do for Tables.(se14)

I have tried log off and then log on. but it make no difference.
Now the Other scenario is that i want to change the datatype of this field to TEXT25.
But it is also not allowing me to change because currently datatype is TEXT20.
So now how can i change the length from 20 to 25.

Select rows from the table which don't exist in another table

Hi, in this relatively simple task I have some problem. I need to get the records from the T1 which don't exist in T2, based on some criteria.
here is my query:

it suppose to return me "TRACKNUM" empty, however it's being returned populated.

You are trying to get a returned value field from T2 when you just said that the
records returned from Only T1 are not found in T2, therefore no T2 record to return.
You only get T1 records where the Ordernum key is not found in T2.

In a real-world application, no.
In a RW application, a typical need is merely to know the "logical role" of the button (i.e., the button that validates the form, regardless of whether its text is "OK" or "Save", "Go",...). Text tends to vary much more than the structure of the UI over time.
In this case you can get the source's name (+getName()+), which will be the name that you've set to the button at UI construction time. Or you can compare the source for equality with either button ( +if evt.getSource()==okButton) {...}+ ).
All in all, I think the best solution is: don't use the same ActionListener for more than one action (+i.e.+ don't add the same ActionListener to all your buttons, which leads to a big if-then-else series in your actionPerformed() ).
Eventually, if you're listening to a single button's actions, whose text change over time (e.g. "pause"/"resume" in a VCR bar), I still think it's a bad idea to rely on the text of the button - instead, this text corresponds to a logical state (resp. playing/paused), it is more maintainable to base your logic on the state - which is more resilient to the evolutions of the UI (e.g. if you happen to use 2 toggle buttons instead of one single play/pause button).

How to hide the field from the view in the webdynpro application?

I got a requirement where in which ,default layout has the field name Time.......To......... which is (2 input box ) and one lable assigned to the container.........
Now my requirement is to hide this field from the layout for all cases of leave......(all types of leave)....
I got a few inputs from forum that we can achieve this by implementing the following steps..........
Create In context => Value attribute => Say Visibility
Go to its properties
Select com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielementdefinitions.Visibility
In View Layout
Select UI Element Set Visible property to this context variable Visibility.
In wdDoModifyView() You can set this property to false
wdContext.currentContextElement().setVisibility(false);
Can you people tell me where to create the value attribute........

Now in the view implementation tab ..........I have coded in the doinit method(since my requirement to hide the field from the layout in all cases).........

But if I deploy the application and see still am getting the same field dispalying in the screen.........

Whether it exists in DEV system or not?
Take the name of that Search Help from PRD/Quality(if it is not there in DEV system) and modify/change it by removing that field from the search help in DEV system and create a Transport request and transport the same request to Quality/PRD systems
Now the New changes (in which the field was removed) will be over written on the old search help in the PRD system, since it is the same Name (search help)

Fucntion module to reterieve ANFDT field from the structure RM06E

I need Function module to reterieve ANFDT field from the structure RM06E or is there any other table for this field.

That looks like the date on which the RFQ is created. What you can do is to get this date from EKKO table for a given RFQ, however you need to check the document category and type to A and AN respecitvely.
