Rendering Required Fields - Why?

A recent development I hadn't noticed before. As I'm editing and I try to play the timeline, it often stops and says Rendering Required Fields. How can I stop that from happening?

My question would be... why do you think something is broken?
If the software needs to render in this instance, my thought would be that the audio simply must be rendered because of what you are doing

Why do I keep seeing Missing required field: Publication when I try to publish a file in iBooks format?

I have produced a book in iBooks format and filled in everything asked for including but I can't slide the file into the window area and I get a message, Missing required field: Publication. Thank you. You're dealing with an old woman doing her best here. Sorry, I was somewhat distracted when I posed the question having been wrestling with it all afternoon. Yes, I am using iTunes Producer and have filled in all the information requested including cover art. The file is saved in iBooks format.
I click on Files at top left, which I assume to be the thing to do, and get a a new page showing red circle with a number 1 in it. Clicking on that produces this :
"Drag and drop the full book that will be used on the iBooks store. Books can be in the EPUB or iBooks format. Submitting a new book version will replace the existing version on the iBooks store.
Missing required field: Publication. "
I have tried to drag and drop the file into the box on the left but it won't allow me to. Clearly something is missing but I don't know what. I am just baffled as to what is wanted.

Why am I'm able to skip a Required Field?

I created a form with several required fields. All of them work, except the Multiple Choice Field. I have it flagged as required (shows in red), however I'm able to submit the form without selecting from the multiple choice field. I've even tried to use "Limit Choice Selection" with a minimum selection of 1, but still no luck. Any suggestions?

As I have browsed the internet for hours and haven't come up with a solution I'm asking for some help.

That error seems to indicate that the JNLP file is broken because it is missing the starting starting <jnlp> XML tag; I'll take a guess and just say that it is completely empty. Since it works for other users, apparently somehow when you download it on your computer you end up with a broken file. No idea why, no way for me to know why either. I don't have access to your computer. All I can say is: try in another browser and if that doesn't work, try on another computer. If it works there, well then you may have to face the fact that your computer might need a clean install.
And PS: this is a Java programming forum, not technical support for whatever game you want to play that just happens to use Java.

Power view in SharePoint - Required fields not working!!!

We have SharePoint 2013 and SQL Server 2014 and SSRS in SharePoint integrated mode.
We have a "Microsoft BI Semantic Model for Power View"-data connection in a document library and by clicking it users can create their own Power View reports.
We have in the document library defined a couple of columns as required.
When a user saves their Power View report(File->Save as) to the document library, the required fields are left blank. They are not checked!!!
WHY?
Does Power View use REST when saving to the document library?
This question should be in SQL Server/Power View/SharePoint -forumns, but MSDN forces you to select only one.
How can we enforce the checking of required columns???

This is the result of using a graphics program to create your html. Field Profit Ctr is a required field for G/L account -Posting

While posting payroll results to FI , I am facing the following error
"Field Profit Ctr is a required field for G/L account "
The Field Profit Center is mandatory from FI side,We can not change it.
I assigned the profit center to Org-Unit using A-OO3 O-PC relationships.Still I am facing the same issue.Kindly Help.

The reason why Profit Center is not filled is that you have activated codist switch in FI but not in the HR side:table T52SWCODIST.
By the way, take into account only value 1 is allowed for India as per note 1039346.

Error: Field Pmnt terms is a required field for G/L account

Hi Experts....
When I am trying to release the billing document no in VF02
It gives me an error
Field Pmnt terms is a required field for G/L account
This error comes only when payments are made through Credit Card....
Message F5808.
when I did a debug on this the field freigabe is made 'X'
and I hve cleared the value..Now it saves but the accounting document is not created.
We are in 4.7C version..
Can any one help me out in this issue....

Still I don't understand why SAP doesn't support payment terms for Credit Card. But when a Sales Order is created without credit card the field xaccit-zterm has a value.

Field Business Area is a required field for GL account - urgent

Hi all,
we had created a new plant 3800. During configurations , business users created material for 3800 on 3000 and started purchase. Now after configurations, those materials had to be extended on plant 3800. Material have been extended but when the stock is transfered from 3000 to 3800 via MB1B , system says "
Field Business Area is a required field for GL account ICI 2201001".
Any idea that why this error comes? I have checked every thing, cudnt sought out.

When you are transferring the material from one plant to other plant using mvt type 301 or 303/305 etc.,
there is a field selection variation between the mvt type and G/L account which was triggered for this Transaction.For mvt type 301, the filed Business area is not mandatory and for G/L account 2201001 the feild is mandatory.
You can resolve this by changing one of the field selection group, i.e. either MVt type or G/L account.to do this follow the procedure.
1.Go to SE38
2.Type program RM07CUFA
3.Execute the program
4.It will ask for Mvt type nad G/L account number, give the details and execute
5.System will display the difference between the two filed selection groups.
6.From the same screen , you can change the fileds option by selecting the error log.

I do hope someone can help me with this!!!
I have a pdf where I require the person before submitting to check a check box to confirm they understand a key statement. the checkbox is called Confirm.
I have seen some javascript here http://forums.adobe.com/thread/784322 which uses on blur - but the assumption is that the user has tabbed into the field concerned... what if they skip over it?
So... I decided to put some Javascript into the submit button...
the submit button currently has 3 Actions on mouse up
first it runs the following javascript

{app.alert("The confirmation box must be checked. Please confirm.")
then it performs file>save as>pdf
then it performs submit a form and emails the pdf
My question is - Why if you have denoted a field as required does adobe allow you to save and email a form where these fields have not been completed??? surely this is a huge bug??
ok... but the logic I put in with the first javascript does not get triggered, can anyone explain why not? .... more importantly... can anyone help me with some code which achieves this desired effect -
when the form is submitted, I need to check if the checkbox has been checked and if not display the above alert AND exit out of the rest of the submit actions.

It is not at all a huge bug. Some thoughts:
1. Your script isn't working because it's not correct. If you want to check the state of a check box and do something based its state, the code could be something like:

2. Even if a check box is set as required, it won't prevent the submit form action or JavaScript from submitting. This is because the field always has a value. This is different for a radio button group. If none in a radio button group that is makred as required is selected, then the submit won't be allowed to take place until one is. This is just how it works, so you have to use a script instead as shown above.
3. Can you explain why you want to save the form before it is submitted? It is automatically done when the entire PDF is submitted, so there normally wouldn't be a need to do this.
4. Use just a single JavaScript action. If you use multimple actions, the are independent from one another, so one can't prevent a subsequent one from being triggered.

Submit data without required fields

Hi,
We have a requirement to save data to DB without giving some of the required fields on UI. The requirement to to Save the data as draft if required at any point of time. I know this might not be a good design, but just want to know if there is any way to do that. Applying immediate is skipping update model phase so i am unable to get the data entered on the UI. Please suggest if its possible.

if they need to be saved for approval, why don't you then copy them into an approval table that doesn't require validation. Once the data is approved, you copy it back into the original table requiring validation. To do this you could try and override the entity doDML method and use a flag indicating a non-yet-approved change. The problem will be with client side validation that only is skipped if the submit happens immediate, which means you bypass the UpdateModel phase and thus will have to change the data manually from a managed bean. When displaying data you will need to make sure that the most current data is displayed, which may mean that the draft table rules the persistent table. You can also save it directly in the original table, but this means that the table is without constraints, which means its badly designed.

Partial trigger and required field

We developed an ADF JSF application which some of field has partial trigger .
Then we add some required field.
when runtime when we change any partial trigger target item all field validated and "required field missing message" occurs.
How can we prevent this behaviour ?
why all field controlled against partial triggered items?
is it normal?
How can we solve this ?

Hi,
in JDeveloper 11 the implementation has changed and the issue wont be the same in most of the cases. There also is a notion of subform that allows you to only submit the field of interest - not affecting any other field.

Hide required field

Hi,
I have some users in the system that only has "View" access to Funds. My problem is that these users are not allowed to view the "Target Amount" field on the Funds page. But since "Target Amount" is a required field, it is not possible to hide it in the Page Layout.
Is it possible somehow to hide the field, or even just to hide/clear the amount, for specific users in the system.

Alex: I have tried what you suggested - it would also be my solution to the problem. So, I made a service request to Oracle and got the following reply.
"Target Amount which is a currency field (system built) is not marked as required field in Fund field set up page. I wanted to suggest you to create a new page layout for fund and make the field 'Target Amount' not required by unchecking the checkbox in step 2 of Fund page layout. But, the checkbox gets automatically checked and then grays out making the field a required field in step 2 of new page creation. I am not sure why this field is grayed out and gets marked as required even though in field setup page Required checkbox is not checked for this field. So, after working on this issue, we have determined that we need to move the issue up to a Product Specialist to review and help resolve. At this time we suspect that the problem may need a patch to the product to resolve."
So it seems to be an issue with the product!

BC Required field user prop in IC

Hi,
I have a problem with Siebel 8.0 I hope someone will be able to help me understand and fix.
What I have :
- 1 IO_out with some IC including "IC_One" and "IC_Two"
- 1 BC (used by both IC) with some fields including
-> Name
-> Lnk_Name
-> Lnk_Type
-> Top_Expat (which contains a conditional "required" user prop)
- 1 Link between this BC and itself over Name and Lnk_Name using an inter table on technical Id field
In IC_One, all the four fields are declared ; in IC_Two, only Lnk_Name & Lnk_Type are declared.
IC_Two is a child of IC_One.
IC_One "Name" is created in the process while IC_Two "Name" have been created before. I made sure it does exists and contains all mandatory fields before calling the process.
The issue is the following :
When I call the process, an error appears saying that for IC_Two instance, required fields cannot be empty.
The process should have created the new object corresponding to IC_One, then pick IC_Two and create a link between them using the inter table.
I am sure the issue is around the BC field user prop "required" as for the purpose of testing I inactivated this user prop and checked the required checkbox on this field. This worked fine.
I do not understand why Siebel would check user prop on this fields when it is not declared in the IC, and not check the required checkbox.
Obvious notes :
- I have to use the "required" field user prop. So using the checkbox instead is not an option
- I simplified BC, and ICs description for the purpose of easier understanding
- If you think this description lacks information or you would need further explication, I would gladly give any information/explication

In the end the data coming in through the IC, gets saved in the BC layer.
So you should add something to the expression to make sure it doesn't trigger the required clause.
At some projects we have a dedicated login for interfaces, so you can check that in the required clause.
But perhaps you have something else that is different between the web service and the rest of the application.
I think there is some property to see if you are working in a User context, or in a server task context, but can't remember from the top of my head.

Sick of "Rendering Required Files" to Play. Want 1x scrub.

Multi-cam project. Very large.
I can get some work done when I focus on a single sequence, and keep working at it.
But bouncing between sequences results in "Rendering Required Files" and multi-hour delays to be able to hit play.
Scrubbing works well enough... audio skips a bit but I can easily make out what is being said.
How can I treat scrubbing as Play? A 1x scrub button? Can a macro be set up if it doesn't already exist?
I hit spacebar when walking away from computer, and hopefully enjoy pre-rendered audio next work session. But I need a way to work without waiting for an audio render to complete. I move between sequences all the time, and currently am not seeing a productive workflow.
Could someone explain how I can use scrub in a more user-friendly fashion, without it being so dependent on my current zoom level?

Here's my request copy/paste.

Immediate ability to edit multi-camera scene without need to pre-process audio.
How:
To play a scene that I'm working on, often it is necessary to pre-render audio. If the scene consists of multi-camera & multi-audio source with many cameras, this can take hours (on IMHO decent hardware).
But, if I simply want to scrub the timeline, Premiere is capable of emitting audio indicating how the timeline sounds at that moment.
I need some IMMEDIATE ability between the two... it need not sound any better than scrubbing... maybe the audio drops out or just doesn't sound quite right. But I need the ability to scrub/play at 1x speed without waiting hours for pre-render of audio.
Maybe pre-render can be temporarily disabled. Maybe it is a new type of "play". Maybe it is a scrub locked to 1x speed.
Why:
My project consists of ~50 lectures. Each lecture is multi-cam coverage with additional audio channels. To edit any individual lecture this is (barely) passable, so long as I'm not flipping between lectures which often requires a re-render of the pre-rendered audio.
But all these lectures are now to be used in a single timeline. I'd like to copy moments from individual lectures, but I can't review any edited lectures without re-rendering that audio. Even just to identify a snipped of audio... scrubbing is to hard to control speed to make the audio intelligible. Play almost always triggers audio pre-render taking ~1h.
So to skip thru various lectures looking for key moments is impractical.
As a work-around I'm using rendered MP4 and importing that, just so I can brainstorm final project easier. But I should really be able to easily pull from my edited lecture timelines, and so have access to multiple audio channels and camera angles right now. I only import rendered MP4 because I can't wait an hour just to identify and copy a 5s moment of audio.
