Repair in China - English?

My PBook's logic board is broken. This was confirmed at a genius bar in the US. There was no time to ship the unit off to CA for repair b/c I was leaving for China in 3 days to teach (to live). I am still here and I have contacted apple support in Shanghai to see about sending it there for repair (it is closer than Beijing). When I called they didn't speak english and I had to get someone to cal me back who did. Well, his try was commendable but I am not sure we communicated effectively. The main problem is that he said I have to send a fax to Shanghai describing the problem... in simplified Chinese characters! I teach at a university, but most students here speak introductory english and to try and get them to translate my computer lingo into chinese is nearly impossible.
Also, the mail system here worries me a bit. If I ship the computer to Shanghai and it just gets "lost" and never shows up, am I covered?
I am still within my 1 yr warranty.
Someone from Apple please help!
Thanks
P.S. Physically traveling to Shanghai is a little out of the question since it is 10+ hrs from me by train and I don't yet speak Chinese.

  • Why my Iphone5 could not repair in China?

My friend bought one iphone 5 for me from TaiWan on Jan,2013, due to the poor quality, the home button I found it does not work. So today I contacted the Apple retail store in ShenZhen(0755-26393400 Exit 5) and China Apple sevice No.400-627-2273 want them to give me more help for my Iphone, but I just be told by them that my iphone could not repair in China, they are only responsible for repairing the apple's product from Chain mainland, HongKong and Macao. TaiWan's products they could not repair. Why?????? I don't understand what reason they couldn't offer the sevice for me? Who can give me a reasonable explaintion??

There is a difference between warranty and repairs.   The two Chinese stores are correct if you are insisting on a free repair under your warranty.   If you will accept a 'paid for' repair they will probably oblige, though it is more likely to be a case of exchanging your phone for a refurbished one.
If they were to do that, the replacement phone would carry a warranty applicable in China.

  • Can I change my iphone 6 plus'screen, which was bought in Japan, in China mainland?

    Good Day
My iphone6 plus (64G) was bought in Japan from the official website, my kid broke the screen accidentally.
Can I get it repaired in China Mainland, how much is the cost?
    Your assistance is highly appreciated.

Warranty is valid only in country of original purchase. You have to return
the iPhone personally or send it to a friend/relative/co-worker in Japan for them
to take into Apple Japan. Be advised if the iPhone was hacked or otherwise
modified to unlock from the Japanese wireless provider, Apple will not have
anything to do with the iPhone - including paid for repairs.

  • N73 Non responsive applications

    Hi,
My N73 stsrted to show non responsive attitude in most applications like the camera and gallery viewing, and slow response in contacts and dialled numbers.
I tried the troublshooting hints in the catalogue but it is not helping any bit.
I have to shut down the phone in many cases and start all over. or in some cases I click the red Exit key to go back to the standby mode.
I'm starting to feel sorry I ever decided to go for a "SMART" phone.
Is there any phone software upgrade or repair, I use English and Arabic languages.
Thanks in advance for any reply.

    Have you tried firmware upgrades?
I have the N73 too and found this sort of problem when i first got it (6 days ago!!!!!)
Checked out latest drivers and seems ok although if you have full/almost full memory this can cause "lag" too so if you have a miniSD card transfer whats on the phone memory to the miniSD and also back up to your pc/laptop(if you have one)?
    This may help?
Oh and although miniSD cards are good don't fill them right up, they like any memory need abit left over to function properly.
    Hope i helped out abit?
    Good luck

  • Still finding "high" vulnerabilities when fully patched

    Hello everyone,
We use Tenable Security's Nessus product to identify vulnerabilities on our servers.  After patching fully, I still see several vulnerabilities.  I have discovered that 90%+ are because of third party applications that we aren't
currently patching (we will be in the next month or so), but there are some that are Microsoft patches that aren't synchronizing with SCCM and I need help understanding why.  So in short, I'm worried about the 10%.
    2 examples;
MS12-043; Vulnerability in Microsoft XML Core Services could allow remote code execution
MS11-025; Vulnerability in Microsoft Foundation Class (MFC) Library could allow remote code execution
I have SCCM configured to download the following classifications: Critical Updates, Security Updates, Update Rollups, and Service Packs.  I have it configured to not download; Definition Updates, Feature Packs, Tools, Updates.
I have several Microsoft applications chosen for updates to be downloaded for, but I do not see .NET Framework even in the available list (.NET Framework is one of the things that I need to update per Nessus).
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

I do have 12-043 in ConfigMgr. It shows up as a security update. I think these are coming in as part of the OS updates. Are you sync'ing the OS product.

  • I want to know the airbook is not IWS

My friend will come back from Japan At the end of this month, he wanted to buy an Airbook to me as a gift. I want to know the Airbook is not IWS, just as I bought my Airbook in Japan, but if there is a problem, can also be repaired in China.

Why? Apple Mac computer use the exact same parts as any other computer being made today. And sometime, most of the time, older parts then what is available in a Windows PC. Same CPUs, RAM, Hard drives and or SSD flash storage, same Vid cards and all other parts are the same. The only differences are in the cases they comes in, the OS they run, and the cost. The Apple Macs costing way more then the same hardware in a Win PC.
Simple fact is if Windows was so bad no one would use them. The second simple fact is the World runs on Windows PCs.

  • Non-Existent Customer Service for English Speakers in China

Well folks I need some help.
I am a native English speaker living in Southern China.  We do not have an Apple Store in our city.  As a result we have to go to an authorized service center.  So my story is real long and let me give you the short version.  My iphone 5 has a broken screen and a recall for the broken power button.  Its currently been sitting at the service center for four days. I have called the Applecare China number and have been selecting English service.  This bounces me to either Singapore or Australia. So a senior customer relations advisor granted an exception for the cracked glass. Problem is the service center has no one that reads a lick of English.  This to me is fine being that it is a small city in China.  So the situation is that the service center does not know how to process my phone even though there is an exception for the screen and a recall for the power button.  I have been calling once a day to the Applecare number asking for an update.  Each day I get transferred to the senior customer relations advisor that promise to research the situation and call me back with an update or resolution.  Sadly I am on day four and after speaking to a total of 10 regular agents and 6 senior advisors and not a single person has called me back nor has my phone been repaired.  I am growing increasingly frustrated at the lack of movement on the repair of my phone.  I have gone into the service center 5 times and they are waiting for instructions from Applecare China.  The first time I went in they wanted all my original receipts and passport.  As an American that has taken defective items back to Apples Stores around America I have never met this level of scrutiny.  The phone clearly has a serial number and EMEI number.  So I am confused why China consumers are subjected to this scrutiny. There seems to be a major communication gap between the Australia/Singapore and China operations. Supposedly my case is filled with English and Chinese comments.  Sadly there has been no one that can read both English and Chinese looking at this case file.  As soon as I select English I am bounced out of the China Applecare world.
After a total of 6 hours on the phone I am no closer to getting my phone back.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to approach this?  I have the emails of 3 senior customer relations of people that I have been dealing with. Sadly none of them seem willing or able to assist me?

duh. I thought it was pretty evident in my previous posting. I apologize as I was under the impression that most of the users on this board are native English speakers.
Yes, a large number are. However, that doesn't change the fact that you don't appear to have asked a technical support question that can be answered by fellow users.
I will break it down in more simple terms. How do I get my phone back from Apple?
Your post indicates that it is not Apple that has your phone but rather an Authorized Service Center. What happens when you ask them to give it back to you? Are they refusing to return it to you?

I've got a big problem. I want wach TV on my iPad Air, but i can't. Please help me. In application "Smart View" by Samsung CO Ltd. are only chinese symbols. Only china. Only that language. I can't set English. It's problem not only on iPad Air, but on all iOS 7.0.4. My friend who don't update iOS 6, iPad 3, watch and use this application. • How to translate into English Apple China support page joke for non-Chinese

In China there are many thousands of English speaking non-Mandarin/Cantonese inhabitants amongst the billion+ natives - it would be very prudent of Apple to support cultural foreigners with an English alternative radio button or two on Chinese web pages. Please support us when trying to find Apple support service on a Mandarin text only support pages. Ethnic myopia to believe there are only Chinese speakers/readers inside the borders of this vast land.
The Apple Extended Warranty "outside of Bejing" telephone number is TOTALLY an automated voice ONLY speaking in Mandarin, even at 8pm. Nothing of English support. What can any non-natives do? Nothing offered that we can hear of what hours of support operation. (Australia at least did go till 11pm even if it was diverted in to Engaliss "speakar" Indians guys. Still India was exc. with service, now in China it's 9-5 hours only? The pronunciation on weak low power Chinese lines that for one call ever means for keeping a hearing aid by the phone.
My experience with Mac sellers here (nothing like a western dealership here thankyou) in Shanghai show only interest in selling more and giving less than lip sync for support service locations/addresses/tel contacts. That is if one can bridge the language barrier most of the huge electronic gadgets sales centers personel to be spasmodically understood - a very frustrating land to bring an Apple computer into.
Doesn't anyone on the Apple CEO board ever visit China and "go native" to experience real world problems?
Apple heros and Applettes in Apple Genesis land : support English-only readers on your foreign language pages - at least show a translation service radio button or someting other than Mandarinic hieroglyphs, even Pin Yin would be a start. Apple speak of a 'global' policy, please support the tens of thousands of English only speakers in the business community, the teachers and travellers in these foreign countries. iPod sales go through the roof here, but finding English based extended warranty support is like something invisible on another planet.
So after a real world complaint - will Apple do anything contructive, can anyone supply solutions? Cannot downoad/update anything; Safari, Explorer both 'blink' only at every atempt, also I wish to locate all iTunes files into one place. Instructing iTunes 'Advanced' section will not transfer the 2 gigs on the G5 across to my dedicated iTunes only 230GB HD. Maybe someone can supply an answer, thanks.
G5 iMac; 2 GHz PowerPC; 1 GB DDR SDRAM; 160HD combo   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   And a G3 ibook with the dual OS9/OSX partitioned startup operating systems

For extended warranty support, try going to:
Apple Computer Trading (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. Room 1201, Lippo Plaza, 222, Huai Hai Zhong Lu, Shanghai 200021, P.R.C.
Try to learn some Chinese, too. I'm sure that's along the lines of what you might suggest to a Chinese immigrant to Australia who doesn't speak English, can't read the Apple Australia web site and complains that because there are 1.2 billion Chinese in the world and only 12 million Australians, the Australian site should have a Chinese translation radio button.
    Good luck!
