Replace VM root repository with new root repository

The root repository on this environment was built with a root repository that was too small.
I have created and added another (larger) repository to the environment and have moved all the VM clients into the new storage. What I would like to do now is reclaim the space from original repository (which is still the root repository).
How can we safely change the new volume to be the root repository so I can delete the original? Can it be done live or will it require an outage?

Hi,
this can be done with repos.py.
Simply call repos.py from one node to point to the other repository as the root repository.
However I am not sure if this change will work directly (live), or need a reboot of the server or just of the ovs-agent.
At least the reboot of the ovs-agent is also possible to be done during runtime.
You can check this with repos.py -l and see if the root repository has been changed.
Regards
Sebastian

Read another post in the forum about this and it appears this app also installs a profile with a proxy service that you will have to try and delete as well. Check that out.

I had a generic record class that has a HashMap to hold the data fields (...)
method called createRecord() for each record type which would populate the HashMap with the correct data fieldsI'm not sure I understand: are the contents of this field map the same between two records of the same type? Then yes, you don't need to clone the map per record instance.
one thing that needs fixing is the fact that each time the createRecord() method is called I'm creating a new fieldMap to define the dataFields in the record class.Probably, but that will only get you a little bigger files; you won't gain an order of magnitude on the size of files. The problem for huge files is that as soon as their content is bigger than the available memory, you'll run into problems. A more radical approach if you need to address huge files is to process the records on the fly, and not load all records in memory. Of course not all algorithms or business logic can afford that...
I know I could rewrite the code and create a class for each record type and declare the fieldMap static but I was wondering if anyone had any better suggestions The Record instance could receive and keep a reference to its RecordType instance, and ask the RecordType instance the DataType for a field's name. That way the RecordType encapsulates the map, and there's less risk that a clumsy other class modifies the static map.
before I go rewriting a load of code.A load of code?!? Even with the idea of the static map, you only have to edit the enum type (well more accurately, each RecordType enumerated constant's createRecord() method).

  • Is it possible to replace my W520 screen with new IPS version?

My W520 laptop continues to give good reliable service. \
However I now look with envy the latest versions that use IPS screens. This is important to me as I am a pro photographer.
I would like to know if is possible to upgrade/replace my existing screen with the latest tech... namely the 3K (2880 x 1620), IPS LED Backlit Anti-Glare Display?
Is it possible for me to order the part and simply replace it together with the required drivers?
    Thanks

Someone used an LVDS to eDP adapter to get a newer eDP 1080p IPS panel working in a LVDS connected X220.
AFAIK, no one's done it for the W520. The extra hurdle is that the 3K resolution probably exceeds the bandwidth of LVDS. No guarantees either way.

  • How to Replace existing Hard Drive with new Hard Drive, while keeping old files

    Hi All,
I have recently replaced my hard drive on my Macbook Pro, with a new hard drive. The old Hard Drive was 160 GB, while the new one is 320 GB.
What I did before replacing it was clone my hard drive using "SuperDuper". I cloned it to the new hard drive and then simply removed my old hard drive and installed the new one with the clone on it. Then I booted it up and began running it. In fact I am using it right now.
    My questions are:
    Is this a good practice?
Will this work, without problems, indefinitely?
Is this the prescribed way to upgrade ones laptop hard drive?
The reason I did it this way was because I upgraded to Mountain Lion via the apple store download and I do not have the CD for the OS. So I figured if I could make a bootable copy, that might work. So far everything seems fine, but I really just want to know if this will last for a long time. I plan on also making a partition with Windows on it also, so I was wondering if anyone can comment on that too.
If anyone can comment or give any advice on this topic I would really appreciate it.
    Thank you very much!
    Cheers.

Every thing is fine except Super Duper does not clone the recovery partition.  If you start your MBP holding the OPTION key, you should see the internal HDD and the ML recovery partition.
You can reinstall ML or reclone using Disk Utility>restore.
    Ciao,.

  • Replacing damaged original drive with new one.

Hopefully I've chosen the correct boad...  Our Pavillion dv6-2173cl hangs after showing the: wallpaper with the Taskbar fame and the Start button, Hp logo button and Date/Time. The cursor shows with the blue'busy' ring for several minutes then the whole thing 'freezes' necessitating the use of the power button on the case to shutdown.  This also happens in Safe Mode.  Hp Daignostics returned an error code of 9077j2-50e656-xd0021(7? sorry wrote it in a bit of a hurry, lol)-6ou103 for the drive test.  We can still get to the disk as a 'slaved' external drive so personal info, settings are available.  Since replacement drive is practically a given, I was wondering about just making the new disk a 'plain' W7disc.  So my questin is "Are the HP programs necessary? Or are they just 'Space Takers"?  I suspect an Overheating problem as the original drivr case has heat discoloration... Probable cause of disk damage... Right?  All we need is a working drive till finances allow purchasing a new computer. Probably Feb. or so.
    This question was solved.

That has always worked, I have never had it fail.
The only thing that I can suggest is to make sure that the key is correct.
The entire drive has to be deleted to create unallocated space on the entire drive. Just formatting it is not enough. After you create unallocated space let the Windows disc format it automatically, don't do it yourself.

  • Need help replacing old apple id with new one

hi. i'm trying to update (in icloud) an appleid with an email from 5 years ago.  i was able to delete the old email on my iphone, but do not see an option for this on my mac.  when i went through the 'verify your id' process, it shows the current id/email that i use for itunes, etc.  however, there is no way, it seems to delete the old email/id on the mac and replace with the new.  i would appreciate any advice or experience, thank you in advance.

If you have changed your iCloud ID and are now trying to change the iCloud ID on your Mac, go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign out, then sign back in with the ID you want to use.

  • Can I replace primary iCloud account with new account?

Would like to replace my @me.com iCloud account with the e-mail address I have been using for the last 20 years. Can this be done?
Can I save the contests of my @me.com iCloud account to the computer hard drive?
    Thank you,
    prb2712

    From the knowledgeable Roger Wilmut:
You can't change the primary email address, the one you created when you opened an iCloud account (or if you migrated from MobileMe the address you log in with) other than by opening a completely new account.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621
However you can create three 'email aliases' - these are extra addresses, not accounts, which deliver into the same inbox as the main address.
    http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a490a
It's actually quite a good idea to give out an alias address rather than the main one, since these can be easily changed should you get spammed.
New addresses will be @icloud.com: at present not everyone's account has been updated to use the @icloud.com address and if yours hasn't you won't be able to create an alias until it has.

  • Replacing an Airport TimeCapsule with newer model - transition ?

I am thinking of replacing my Wireless network (older model Airport TimeCapsule 2TB extended with 2 even older Airport Express's) by a newer model.
How can I make sure that the TimeCapsule history from the older model gets transferred correctly to the newer Airport TimeCapsule, so that after the installation the Mac's in the house will still be able to back up correctly AND access their TimeMachine history ?
Also, after transition, I would like to give my older TimeCapsule to my son for his appartment. How do I make sure it is wiped and reset so he can start from scratch ?
Thanks in advance for any advice offered.
    Philip

Transfer of old backups is fairly easy but slow.. make sure you are connected by ethernet.. and turn off all wireless. You simply copy the sparsebundles across. Expect this to take many many hours or days as it has to transfer via the computer.

Once you have transferred the files and ensured they are working fine.. simply factory reset the old TC and erase the disk.. you erase via the airport utility.

  • Replaced my old 3GS with new 3GS

    Hi,
I had to return my old 3gs with a bad battery and got a new one. I had undated the old one with the new software. When I try to sync the new phone with itune, I get a message telling me that itune was sync with a new version iphone, and I don't know how upgrade the new phone. Does anybody know how to do that?
    Thanks

Well 2 weeks ago, I updated my old 3gs to the new iphone version iso4 . Before I returned it to Apple store, I backed up my phone and when I try to sync the new phone I get a message saying something like" itune has been synched with a newer version" and I get the choice of starting as a new phone. In other words, the new phone is a 3.0 version and my itune was backed up with a 4.0 phone. I guess I can't ( or at least i don't know how to ) upgrade the new phone to a 4.0.
    Sorry if it's not clear.

  • Replacing the old value with new value on the website

    Hi ,
I have two input fields CLIN # and PR#.When i enter the text, for the first it is working fine, second time when i enter it is replacing the value which i enter with the first one.I should not replace the old value.
    ex:
Example when i enter test5 for the first time
    CLIN # :Test 5
Next when i enter Test6 ,this value replaces the first one
    CLIN#: Test6
    CLIN#:Test6(there is no test5)
I am doing for my istore application.Any ideas

As the user that created the anonymous block ruun:
    select count(*) from general_acct_mast_table;
    and
select tbaadm.count(*) from general_acct_mast_table;I strongly suspect that they are actually two different tables, and the tbaadm version is substantially larger that the non-qualified one.
In any case I would not be doing this as a row-by-row procedure. I would create two lookup tables like:
    create table masked_general as
    select acid, foracid, round(dbms_random.value(81000000,85000000)) masked
    from (select distinct acid, foracid
          from general_acct_mast_table
          where acct_ownership not in ('O'));
    create table masked_stmnt as
    select * from masked_general;
alter table masked_general add constraint masked_general_pk
       primary key (acid);
alter table masked_stmnt add constraint masked_stmnt_pk
primary key (foracid); Then do the updates as:
    update (select g.foracid, g.acid, gm.masked
            from general_acct_mast_table g
               join masked_general gm
                  on g.acid = gm.acid)
    set foracid = masked;
    update (select s.foracid, sm.masked
            from mini_stmnt_details_table s
               join masked_stmnt sm
                  on s.foracid = sm.acid)
set foracid = masked;Note that this assumes that both acid and foracid are individually unique in general_acct_mast_table, which seems to be implied by your procedure, and that you want to be able to roll the whole thing back if there are problems (that is, you do not want to commit between the update of general_acct_mast_table and mini_stmnt_details_table).
I would also probably a a verification step after creating the first masked table to ensire that you did get unique vluaes back fo the masked column.

  • Replacing iSupport seeded buttons with new buttons(customer specific)

our customer wants to keep their own and look & feel for iSupport. we succeded in that. But the problem is replacing customer specific buttons, in iSupport pages.
is there any option so that we can completely replace iSupport buttons location to a new location, so that iSupport can pick up buttons from new location and it should not also effect other self service applications.
    Any idea
    Thanks
    Chetan

In 11.5.10 and prior to that the buttons are generated dynamically and stored in a cache folder in OA_HTML. It will be a lot of effort for you to replace all the buttons in that location. Moreover the buttons are named based on a specific logic by UIX and will/might change from release to release if we make any changes on the specific parameters around that logic.
You use the CLAF feature to redefine the look and feel for buttons, the only problem is the changes will be applicable globally.
Alternately you can define your stylesheet and attach that using personalization to specific buttons, you need to do this for each button in iSupport.

  • Replaceing previous iPod touch with new one...how to Sync?

Hi, Received a new iPod Touch for Christmas to replace my 2nd Gen version that had run out of memory capacity. My question is...how do I get all of my iTunes library that's on my PC onto the new iPod touch? I want to keep my current iTunes account, just move everything onto the new device? Is it as simple as just plugging it in and naming it the same as the old device? I'm assuming the new serial number will supercede the previous..will that render my previous device useless? I'd still like to keep it for use in the car.

Thanks, do I have to have a archived back-up (i.e. DVD's) of my itunes to do the recovery, or is there an archive on the hard-drive that's hidden?
every time you synced your old iPod, iTunes should have made a backup. all you have to do is plug in the new gadget and follow on-screen instructions.
