Replacement Droid - keep old sim card?

My Droid died and I'm getting a new one in the mail. I wasn't able to download any data from the old one, so should I keep the old sim card and put it in the new one? Do I have to send the sim card back with the old Droid? Thanks!

My iPhone 4S accidentally fell into a very shallow bit of water. The phone was wet, but worked afterwards for a short bit. Now it's not working, so I called and got a replacement phone coming. Same exact phone. Can I use the old Sim card in the new phone without harming anything? I think I had it on the iCloud, I just changed computers and had part of my old computer backed up, where are the default iTunes info saved like the pictures and I know my contacts were backed up cuz I kept getting updated stuff that I wasn't sure about, but it was contacts where some belonged to my wife's contacts....but anyway, if the cloud backed up contacts, it should have grabbed pictures too? Like I asked before, if they were backed up to the computer, is there a default iTunes folder they are saved to? I had a crap load of pictures on there that I usually could really access if I was connected to wi-fi. I turned off my data stuff as I only have 4GB and between me and my 2 kids, we seemed to use up a lot of it. My son would play music from Pandora during work, and use up all our data til I limited him to only 3GB, my daughter and I barely used 1GB. Anyway, thanks to everybody that is answering. I thought I might have done good finding the dang sim card, but pointless I guess.
Ralph - F.Y.I. I would be happy to back up the iPhone if I could turn it on LOL......I am pretty positive I did, but what about Text messages? ANY of those saved too or not? Sorry guys, I don't know a **** of a lot about cell phones, but I do know about memory cards, but not sim cards that act like memory cards or look like them anyway. What is the purpose of a sim card if I may ask a stupid question since they don't hold any data from my phone stuff. Apple says "keep old SIM"

So, just got off the phone with Apple. (I had actually called AT&T about activating my new 3G S but was routed to Apple). I have a 3G which I'm selling today and I wanted to verify what I should do with the old SIM card. The Apple rep said "all your account information is on your old SIM card, so you should remove the SIM card from your new iPhone and put the old one in it." This contradicts stuff I've been reading on this forum all day. Who's right? What should I do?

The iPhone does not store information on the SIM like other cell phones.
You can place the iPhone 3G sim into the iPhone 3G S.
+To replace an iPhone 3G with iPhone 3G S, follow the same steps above, using your older iPhone 3G as the older phone and iPhone 3G S as the newer phone. The only difference is that if iPhone 3G S did not include a SIM when you purchased iPhone 3G S, you can move the SIM from iPhone 3G to iPhone 3G S.+ from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2109
If you plan on using the iPhone 3G as an iPod, you may want to leave the SIM in it as suggested in this Original iPhone article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3406
If you are going to sell the iPhone the new owner will need to get a new SIM and activate the iPhone at an AT&T store.

My Ipad just quit on me... after 97 days! I took back to Best Buy and they replace it. Of course I lost LOTS of data that was saved to the device itself. QUESTIONS: 1) How do I change over the service. I did NOT take the old SIM card. Should I go back to Best Buy and take it? Will this just make the new device automatically log on with the old ATT account? what else is on that card? Does it include data saved on the Ipad? Contacts, movies, etc? 2) Or do I just log onto the new device, sign up for the plan, and then cancell the old plan... if so, how do I do that? So yes, it would be best to get that card back.
No, it does not save data such as apps, photos, video and such. That data is stored in iTunes.
When you get the new iPad, follow the instructions here for restoring your iPad: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414 You can restore from a backup stored on iTunes if you have one OR restore as new. Just follow the instructions.
Don't cancel any plans just yet. Set up your new iPad, then deal with the data plan with AT&T.

My phone Started the low ringing before I received the new card tray from HTC. So I went to Verizon and explained the issues and they looked at my account and noticed that I was on my 3rd Sim card. Wife has the same phone and was having the same issues but on her first SIM card. They replaced both phones... the New SIM card tray arrived and I placed it in my new Replacement phone.... its been 2 weeks and I have not had any SIM card issues..... still Waiting to see what happens if any... no on the other hand my wifes new replacement phone has had SIM card issues with in 4 days. I will be contacting HTC directly for a new SIM card tray for her phone and here is HTC TECH support # if you would like to get help 1-866-449-8353 Good luck and I hope this clears up problems..... Just remember even though we are all fusterated by our phone problems we still need to go through al the steps to solve the problem before we jump to having VZW just give us a different brand of phone for lemon issues......

Laurie, in order to fix this problem with your phone first of all please follow these instructions:
1. Perform a soft reset to the device.
This can be done by holding the POWER button until the phone shuts off for 15 seconds, then power the device back on and try again.
2. After that you can toggle to Airplane Mode > From the Start screen, select All Apps > Select Settings > Tap the slider to turn Airplane mode.
Once device is in Airplane mode, tap the slider to turn off Airplane mode.
3. If this does not resolve the issue, please remove and reseat the SIM and try again.
Before removing the SIM, be sure to power off the device. Remove the SIM tray using the SIM ejector tool. Inspect the SIM card for any damages. Remove and re-place the SIM onto the SIM tray, ensuring the SIM is properly seated before placing the SIM tray back into the device.
If after powering on the device and the issue is not resolved, please proceed to the next step.
Replace SIM card, after replacing the SIM card, be sure that it is properly seated onto the SIM tray before placing it back into the device.

The SIM cards are different sizes.
Just get a new one from your carrier, if the iphone does not already have one.

the process i went thru was vigorous but it started by going to at&t and they sold me a flash drive for $15 and they transfered my numbers on there and then when i got home i had to go to att.com/support and type into the frequently asked questions, transfering contacts from sim to iphone and they gave me a program to download which extracted the numbers onto outlook and then i just synced my contacts from outlook but the at&t store will make it sound simpler than it seems

Nothing you can do. The iPhone doesn't store contacts on the SIM card. Had you been using the iPhone as strongly recommended, you would have been synching your contacts with Outlook or Address Book on your computer, where they would now still be safe and sound and ready for you to synch with your new phone.
Using a phone as your sole source of data is foolish. Phones can be easily lost, stolen, dropped and damaged, or in your case, die. That's why the strong recommendation to synch your data with a computer (and of course, backup that computer as well).
I'm afraid your contacts are gone. Such a shame, and was entirely preventable. Sorry for your loss.
