Reply with Success or Failure in ALSB/OSB
Hi,
What is the difference between Reply with Success and Reply with Failure.
In the error handler of a proxy service I have a "Raise Error" action and after that I have Reply Acton.
Response is the same whether I do reply with success or reply with Failure.
Please help me, when should I use Reply with Success and Reply with Failure and what is the difference between the two.
Reply with Success:
tran:response-code in the response metadata will be set to '0' specifying a successful operation.
In case of HTTP service the HTTP response code will be set to 200
Response will contain contents of $body
Any consumer of the service will see the call as being successfully completed.
In case of JMS transport the JMS Queue or Topic will get an ACK back and message will be removed from the destination.
This is usually used when you are able to properly handle an error and take any alternative actions needed to complete the request.
Reply with Failure:
tran:response-code in the response metadata will be set to '1' specifying a Failed operation.
In case of HTTP service the HTTP response code will be set to 500
Response will contain contents of $body NOT $fault. If you need to send back content of $fault you will have to replace contents of $body with those of $faults before using reply with failure.
Any consumer of the service will see the call as being failed and depending on the error handling in the consumer code error processing will be activated.
In case of JMS transport the JMS Queue or Topic will receive a NACK back but the message will NOT roll back and will be removed from the destination just like in case of Reply with Success. This happens because using a Reply action is considered as an exception being handled properly and a commit will be sent back to the JMS destination. To roll back the message ensure that you use Raise Error instead of a Reply action.

From my proxy service I am publishing a message into a JMS queue(through a BusinessService). I have used a publish activity in the proxy service with QoS=Exactly Once. Currently i am able to send messages to the queue but, in the proxy response i am getting the whole payload which is published to the queue but i want only:
<http:http-response-code>200</http:http-response-code>, in the proxy result.
In the response pipeline i have tried the following two ways:
1. Insert <http:http-response-code>200</http:http-response-code> as first child of ./ctx:transport/ctx:response in variable Inbound.
2. Added a 'Reply' activity as 'Reply with Success'
But, they are not fetching me the expected result. Still i am getting the whole payload in the proxy result.
Kindly let me know how to achieve the same.

Replace node contents [leave it empty] in variable [body] with expression [ <http:http-response-code>200</http:http-response-code>]

Hi,
In ALSB Proxy pipe line, I want to throw SOAP fault to the client for some normal responses from the Business Service. Can I do that using "Reply with Failure" by setting $body to the SOAP Fault structure. Like the following:
Replace $body with the following:
<env:Body ....>
<env:Fault ...>
<env:faultCode> .. </env:faultCode>

Windows "Easy Connect" does not reply with the password / "Easy Connect is not Available"

I have posted a related question some time ago, which was eventually resolved. However, after some time a problem with Easy Connect (used for MSRA) came back:
Whenever I arrive at the point in setting up a MSRA session where Easy Connect is needed, I get the reply: "Easy Connect is not Available". Here is an example of the problem:
Start MSRA
--> as expected, a window with "invite someone to help you" and " Help some who has invited you" appears
Select "invite someone to help you"
--> as expected, a window with "Who do you want to get help from" appears
Select "Invite someone to help you"
--> as expected, a windows with "How do you want to invite your trusted helper?" appears
Select "Use Easy Connect"
--> as expected, the temporary "Create invitation window / checking network capabilities" window appears
Next, I would expect this windows to close a new window to provide me with the Easy Connect password. However, instead I get the window "Easy Connect is not available".
I cannot continue. (I have screenshots so can repost with them if that would clarity my question)
Any suggestion how to resolve would be appreciated.
(Please do not reply with the 3 suggestions from the FAQ (both computers must run windows 7 / Access to internet is limited / your router does not support Easy Connect - doesn't help)
More background information and things I have tried:
The "Easy Connect is not available" window offers the "Tell me more about how to fix this problem" which I have tried, but those suggestions do not help
If I use the other MSRA option: "Help someone who has invited you" (this would be my typical use case), followed by "help someone new" and than select "Use Easy Connect", I also get the "Easy Connect is not available"
window instead of the expected option to enter the Easy Connect password. I believe this is that same problem.
This happed with both the 32 as well as the 64 MSRA versions
I'm using Window 7 Ultimate, 64 bit with all the latest updates
This desktop PC is wired to the internet via an Edimax gigabit switch, a Dlink DIR-855 wireless router and a fiber modem in bridge mode
The W7 desktop has a single active network connection only
I'm using Windows Firewall and Windows Security Essentials
Disabling the firewall on the PC did not help
Network discovery is enabled in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings (that’s UPnP – right?)
The Internet Connectivity Evaluation Tool does not seem to be available anymore from MSFT sites
Restarting "Peer Name Resolution Protocol" did not help
Restarting "Peer Networking Identity Manager Properties" did not help
Starting up with a "Clean Boot" (disabled all non-Microsoft services using MSConfig) did not help
I would also be interested to understand how I can check on the status of the "Easy Connect" service. Is this a service hosted somewhere, or??

A: if I check with ‘Device Manager/Network Adapters’ (or Control Panel/Network and Internet/Network Connections) I see two network adapters (my Asus motherboard has two network connectors). Both are available, but only one is used. I have
disabled one. Unfortunately, this does not solve the problem. I will leave it disable for now.
Q: To find detailed information about this issue, please locate to event view and find the logs about remote assistance.
A: I have to admit that the Event Viewer is unfamiliar territory for me. So, I’m not sure where and what to look for. However, as suggested, I found "Event Viewer (local)/Applications and Services Logs/Microsoft/Windows/Remote assistance/Operational".
Each time, I attempt to use MSRA/Easy Connect, it seems two entries are added. As I cannot seem to upload files with this post, here are just the two entries:
“Diagnosis Repro Attempt resulted in a failure.”
“Remote Assistance troubleshooting has confirmed the problem: Remote Assistance Easy Connect isn't available.”
If you need more details, please suggest what to forward or check. I'm eager to find a solution!

Need to send success or failure message to BAPI of SQL query action block

I need to send success or failure message(i.e. 1 or 0) to BAPI which has been called below sql query action block in transaction
Here in SAP, i have created on BAPI with one import parameter and one export parameter.
In the sql query action block, it insert records in the database table. If it fail or success, that message(numeric value 1 or 0) has to send to SAP program through BAPI.
I have created a SAP ABAP program which sends message to MII Message listener through RFC then in the process rule message it will call transaction, in transaction, sql query will insert records into database table. if it success or fail, it will pass to BAPI. And i calling that BAPI in the same SAP ABAP Program to show in the output screen.
Here the issues, i am not getting the value from BAPI which has send by the transaction in MII.

Deployment process for Large ALSB/OSB project
Hi,
I am searching for some details or article about deployment of alsb/osb projects (number of projects) as part of build process.
How projects manages when number of different alsb projects need to be build, customized and imported into different environments.
We are starting new release where developers would be working on different projects. i have a some ANT scripts which use WLST script to export single project, created jar file and place them into a specific location.
For import, the script looks at a specific location, reads config.jar from that location, and imports that config into target environment. Now with multiple projects and each developer will deliver their own config.jar. How to handle that in WLST. I am not sure if the current approach i am using that any good to handle multiple projects deployment.
Anyone could give some pointers or helpful hints?
we are on version 10.0 and wont be moving to 10gR3 where we could use ANt to build config.jar from .metadata so not sure.
I want to know what other projects are doing etc!

I had this same issue on the KDC-X996 and called Kenwood after fighting with it for a few hours, The support tech pointed me to the Bluetooth compatibility page http://www.kenwood.com/cs/ce/bt/index.php After putting in my model for both head unit and Apple/iPhone 5s, It took me to a page that had a firmware specifically for the bluetooth unit built into the radio. NOT the normal firmware page, A bluetooth specific one. After downloading and updating my radio has no issues with the bluetooth audio controls any more and the song name and etc now work again. There is also a pdf that explains how to go about updating the bluetooth firmware

Success and Failure messages Report
Hi All,
Could you advice if it is possible within SAP XI to generate a report or list of messages with sender party, receiver party and timestamp for reference. Say end of day we need to run a report of how many successful message passed thru XI and the messages that failed. In XI we can see that, but can we generate a report out of automatically at the end of the day, or mail it to a particular e-mail address?
Can I create a spreadsheet report of all the success and failure messages with the time, sender party, receiver party automatically whenever desired.

SSIS Package execution completes without giving any success or failure message

We are using SSIS to load some 100k records from flat file to Oracle Destination. We are using Oracle 10g client.
But during the execution after some 5hrs or 6hr with 900k records upload we are getting the message Package execution completed. In the Execution results there is no message related to success or failure and the tasks in the Data Flow where yellow in color. What might be the problem? Any information regarding this case will be helpful for us.

Roopa.Usually you will have a red object somewhere in your package if there was a failure. Make sure you are looking in both the Control Flow and all the Data Flows in the package for a red object. In the execution results in the far right tab, usually you will see several warning messages somewhere in the list of steps, followed by a message that says you have exceded the number of errors for the package and that it is failing. This is not at the bottom but where the errors actually occur in the flow of messages.
I don't know if that helps, but that is about all I can add. Good luck. -
Health check for load balancing ALSB/OSB instances
What is the standard practice for a load balancer sitting in front of ALSB/OSB instances as far as a health check? I'm working with our IS department to implement a valid health check. Currently the load balancer (older model cisco device) is just checking for an active port which is generating excessive logging on the ALSB side. As a workaround I'm just going to have the loadbalancer check for a http 200 response and a greater than zero body size.
thanks in advance...it depends on the type of load balancer what it can do. I suggest create a 'empty' proxy service that does not have logging or auditing. Publish the prox and use this webservice in your load balancer to check if the service is available.

Custom success and failure messages on quiz results slide
I'm trying to create a custom success and failure message on the quiz results slide, using certain colours in the text caption to reflect our company's brand. So I've added an advanced action on entering the slide so that if the quiz percentage is 80% or more, the success message shows, and the failure message hides. It seems that this should work, but for some reason, only the failure message displays, regardless of whether I fail or pass. Has anyone else tried this with any success?

I would like to know if it's possible to use the log activity of the ALSB/OSB in a separate log file of the WLS. I would like to have a different log for every service I have in my ESB. Is it possible to do with log activity or I need to develope a Java Callout with log4Java?

You can but you would need to send it as an html email which is much more complicated.
What you would do is build a page/table construction like below. You would need to use the php variables to echo out the information in the <td></td> cells (example below).

After updating to iOS 6.1 reply with message is not working
Apparently after I updated to iOS 6.1 when somebody rings I do not have the option of replying with message or any other option. Is there a setting that I need to do or is software based?
