  • Re:reponsibilities and users

    Hi All,
I have two questions on R12,I am using vision test environment.
    1) can I delete a user,responsibility, menu/function,custom application,if yes how ?
2)I had created a user(new_user) and assigned 7 important responsibilies to it.
Today I created a custom responsibility(test_responsibility) and assigned to it.
I also assigned 'user management' responsibility to him.
both the above responsibilities were assigned by logging as the new_user.
when i query the user,I can see all 9 responsibilities, but when i log in as the new user ,the 'user management' and 'test_responsibility' is missing.
I understand that I have not configured the 'test_responsibility' properly. But since 'user management' responsibility is seeded it should not create any problem.
    Please suggest.
    rgds,
    s

    Hi Hussein,
I was successfully able to add the user management role to the user after reading the forum link provided.
I had searched for similar links in the forum, but they all very precise and suggested of applying patches or reboot the server or clearing java cache.
but your solution was on the spot.
Regarding deletion ,I was able to delete the functions, end date the user and responsibility.
But for deletion of menus please confirm my understanding as below.
Menu_3 was accessed through menu_2 and menu_2 was accessed through menu_1.
Menu_1 was attached to a custom responsibility (which I end dated).
Also custom application was attached to the above custom responsibility (which I end dated).
Hence while deleting the custom application, the delete option was disabled.
Also since the custom responsibility was accessing the menu_1.
So I will not be able to delete these menus and this custom application due to referential integrity issues?
    please confirm.
    Thanks

  • Query to end date all reponsibilities of a user

    Hi,
One of the user in our 11i has around 120 responsibilities. I wanted to end date them at a time. If you do have a query, pl post here.

I agree with Kevin, try to avoid updating FND tables and use APIs instead.

Have you created the resposibilities for the rule 60100010 becuase if you observe the rule it will determine the agents by using the category Agent Determination: Reponsibilities so i think you missed to create responsibilities
    for creating responsibilities [check|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/ef/3dc9469bbe11d189470000e8216659/content.htm]

  • OIM - Approval process

    Hi All
I have OIM integrated with application 1. Application 1 has many responsibilities which are to be maintained by OIM by 1 level approval process. This means the end user can log into OIM admin console and request for more responsibilities. I have a table for Resource object and another table for Responsibilities similar to AD Resource Object and its child table for AD groups.
Problem is that every responsibility has a separate owner and if a user raises a request for responsibilityX, it should go to the owner of the responsibility. How should I go about it..
    Please help !!
    Thanks

    Thanks Kevin
This is really helpful. I guess this would probably work in case when the number of responsibilities and user groups are limited. But in my case I have almost 1500 responsibilities and having a user group corresponding to these responsibilties would not be an easy task.
I take your suggestion of creating a lookup for the mapping of responsibility and its corresponding owner. To move further, shall I go ahead and use API's to handle the object form and assign the task based on this lookup. Can you please suggest if this will be a good approach and provide some basic startup.
**** Another thing which I am not able to understand is - When I provision a user using direct provisioning, these reponsibilities are attached to the process form as child table. How should I go ahead with creating a object form for the responsibilities.
Currently, when an end user logs into admin console, he can only request for RO provisioning with no details or responsibilities. (No object form is attached to RO).
This is similar to Group assignment in Active Directory, but in that case I wrote a separate piece of code that was adding the user directly to the AD group.
    Thanks

  • Roles of MM consultant in Implementation?

    hii
Some body explain me on their real time exeperiance of end to end implementation.
What will be the major roles and reponsibilities of MM consultant in end to end implementation??
Some body explain me in depth and detailed of their own experiance in implementation project.
And additionally ,as MM consultant where we shlould not be lack of knowledge for any implementationss??
    Thanks

Normally the implementation phase lasts for 6 months, and proper roadmap is followed during implementation.
First comes the project preparation phase where sign up of the project, assignment of team members, presentations are done.
Next is blueprint phase, where AS IS AND TO BE methodology is used. AS IS method, you take input from client of there current system setting and in TO BE you create the blueprint with all the processes required and all the documentation on the configuration. Once blueprint is signed, then starts the realization phase.
Realization phase is the longest phase, where the configuration takes place, testing client is created, where TRAIN THE TRAINER phase is applied, where powerusers are trained by you. After that comes UAT = user acceptance training which is mostly done on QAS client where all the scenarios are run by the powerusers and users. Once the UAT is signed, this is go ahead for PRD server preparation and PRD system is created and all the requests are checked, thus initiating the FINAL PREPARATION phase.
Here whole server is configured with all the master data getting uploaded. and finally comes the GO LIVE, where users start working on the new system and after that support which usually lasts for month, or2months depending on client.

  • Regarding role of business analyst

    Apart from SAP implementation,,
If  u consider software development services , How a SAP professional can do a job of business analyst??
I mean to ask, what would be the job profile?
I am SAP Business one fresher, Kindly guide me.
    Thanks in advance.

    Dear,
Role of a business analyst is depends on your client what they want to fulfill through you. What reponsibilities to be fulfilled by you, what output expecting from an business analyst during SAP implementation purely depends on clients decision.
In general, you can find many useful hints from web on role of a business analyst during SAP ERP implementaion. Please find below an extract information which I found and most commonly match with all clients.
Check this link where explained about BA: http://www.businessgyan.com/content/role_busines

  • Add default responsibilities upon new employee creation

    Hi,
We have a requirement to do the following activities when a new employee/CWK is created in HRMS.
-Link the Application User (Application users are maintained through OAD by the time employee creation happens & we need to just link person to user)
-Add default self service reponsibilities to the users. Need to add the applicable one based on employee working location(country).
    like..
    Employee Self Service (India)
    Employee Self Service (UK)
I am aware of the way to achieve this by writing custom code. Just wanted to know any part of the functionality is available in this line.
    thanks,
    Rajkiran.

I don't think there is any way to achieve this without custom code.

  • Role of CRM Functional Consultant in ASAP Phases

    hii
Some body explain me on their real time exeperiance of ASAP phase implementation. in depth??
What will be the major roles and reponsibilities of CRM Functional consultant in all these phase ???
How we should do the AS-IS study in client place ????
And what of documentation will be done in 1st and 2 nd phases???
    like word or ppt ...etc
And which kind document used for sign of BBP??
In a middle scale industry how many months will it take for implementation.?
    Please help in all these
    Regards
    Sarjit

    Hello Sarjit,
    The Major Phases are :-
Project Initiation -Mock Demos explaining the real Time situation of SAP
Project Blueprinting Phase-Clientrequirent gathering,Fit gap analysis, Requirment mapping, BPR documentaion,
Realization -FD preparation, discussion with tech team reagrding requirements.,test case Preparation, integration issues
Testing(system Integration testing/user acceptance testing)-test execution, Integration issues , bug fixing
    Go Iive
The As- Is analysis is actually done based on what the client wants at thier place and what SAP can offer.
It is mainly done to map requiremnts and find out whioch requiremnst can be done OOTB(SAP standard), configuration , customization and enhancements. It is also donw to know the effort time estimation for the enhancements objects.
The functional conusltant can do the following depending on the entry to the project and his/her exp:-
    Business process requirement document
    Functional specification.
    Requiremnt mapping,
    Requiremnt gathering
    Effort estimation,.
    Prtotyping for requirements.
    Testing (major roles)
The major document to be used are Business process requirement documentation/ High level design dosumentation(HLD)
    for the initial two phases.
For middle scale projects , the time would be min 1.5 yrs starting from project iniation to go live .It can be fast tracked if the client desires so.But these are actually dependant based on teh number of requirements that will be taken for that phase and thier criticality.
    Hope this helps.

  • Roles in Project preparation phase ?

    hii
Some body explain me on their real time exeperiance of 1st phase implementation.??
What will be the major roles and reponsibilities of MM consultant in 1st and second phase ???
How we should do the AS-IS study in client place ????
Some body explain me in depth and detailed of their own experiance in implementation project.
And additionally ,as MM consultant where we shlould not be lack of knowledge for any implementationss??
    Thanks

In project preparation phase, all the details of the projects are set, who will be the project manager from implementors side and from client side, then the whole team is selected of both sides, some times there are interviews of consultants as well from the client, where client desides which consultants they want for there implementation.
Then usually sign up of the project is done and sometimes presentation on every module is given as well if sign up and project start has big difference in dates.
Then in blueprint phase, for AS-IS, you MM consultant and powerusers from client sit down and you jott down all the current settings of the client, here its decides and researched how there current system is configured, and what necessary settings are required for SAP i.e. how many plants, how many purchase  organisations, groups, how many material groups, what number ranges master record will follow, how many document types for PR,PO,contract, which additional processes are required i.e. Framework order, source lists, which type of mrp, subcontract, consigment process etc.
Once you get all the data in AS-IS, you create blueprint based on this information which will contain every info, i.e. how many plants will be created, what numbers, how many storage locations with names and numbers for each plant, how many purchase organisation with details, purchase groups, document types of prs, pos, with number ranges, release strategy, and total process flow in this documentation and what can and what cant be configured in SAP, thus the TO BE stage. Here client views your document and if there are any reservations they are pointed out, if any deletion addition is needed to the document they are notified to the consultants, necessary changes are made to the blueprint and this up/down in changes keeps on going, until the blueprint is signed.
Same above described process happens for all other modules as well, and once all module blueprints are signed, then begins the realization phase. Usually the blueprint phase in 6 months implementation last for 2 months.

  • Not able to view the EUL Workbooks

    Hi,
I need help in understanding how to view the Workbooks associated with the DBI EUL.
We are currently on DBI 7.2 on 11.5.10 and have imported the DBI EUL into our existing Discoverer EUL.
We are able to see the associated Business Areas, but none of the corresponding workbooks.
Could anyone please suggest if they are any special steps that needs to be followed to view the Workbooks?
Any help on this is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Michael,
    Thanks for your reply.
I am trying to connect into Discoverer Desktop as the EUL OWNER. While trying to connect to the Disco Desktop as the EUL OWNER i get an error that the user(the EUL Owner) does not have access to the End User Layer tables.
I queried the EUL5_DOCUMENTS table while logged in as the EUL owner, and there are some 193 workbooks available.
While connecting to the Disco viewer and Plus, i find some workbooks present in the "Financial Intelligence" and "Operational Intelligence" responsibilties. But i am trying to find the workbooks under the DBI reponsibilities.
While connecting through Apps login, to a DBI responsibility, we are able to see all the associated workbooks in the dashboards.
Do you have any idea why we are able to see them thro apps and not thro the viewer/plus for the DBI responsibilties?
    Thanks for your time.
    Priya

  • Urgent: EJB Transaction mechanism and Database Transaction mechanism

Anybody please clarify me how EJB transaction mechanism use the underlying database transaction mechanism? Here my concern is that in the context EJB transaction, how much reponsibilities are performed by EJB container and how much responsibilities are performed by underlying database server. I will deem it a great favor if you kindly explain the whole story with example(s).

Actually the ejb container is managing the persistence.
    It will be like this.
if u r using entity beans or statefull beans
while creating entity bean class you have to specify in the
deployment descriptor, which table in the database this bean is representing .
On the runtime , when you are creating an instance of a entity bean ,that instance will be corresponds to a row in the mapped table.
    what all changes you have made to that instance's attributes ie;
columns in that row that all will be avilable in the session
When you commit this particular session .this changes will be written to disk.
that's how the change is managed ...
assume if one user is modifying the particular row and another user is deleting it ..which ever transaction commits first will be get effected.
if modification is committing first and then delete the row will be deleted last.but if first delete and then modify while commiting modifycation..
you should get an error saying that particular row is missing from storage
this how ejb container is manging the persistence
in all cases even in case of synchronus acess
i think u r cleard with this much

  • How to find query_only and standard functions (AOL)

    Hi,
There are many functions which are attached to menus and which inturn are attached to responsibility.
Also, we can have a function view only by creating the same function by entering QUERY_ONLY="YES" in parameter.
For ex:- I have a function called "Customers Standard" by which you can create customers. I can create another
function using the same form and make it query only by entering QUERY_ONLY="YES" in the parameters column.
My question is, I want to know for which responsibilities i have this query_only function attached and for
which reponsibilities i have this normal standard function is attached to. If it is Query_only, then i want
to populate a comment saying " Query Only Customer" and if not then populate with " Standard Customer Function".
I wrote a query which displays all the menus, sub-menus and user-function-names for all responsibilities. But
i need to populate another column with this "Query-only" or "Standard Customer" by checking the parameter values.
Like this, i need to check for all like "customer" , "invoices", "order entry", "vendors" etc etc.
If it is hard to understand my problem, to make it simple, " A query to Display all the menus, sub-menus, sub-sub-menus,
user-function-names for all menus, sub-menus, sub-sub-menus for all reponsibilities. After writing this query,
I want to populate one more column in which i want to display whether it is query_only or not_query_only."
    Help Appreciated
    Thanks

    Hi Adwinn,
Do you have any query for this.
For ex:- for AR reponsibility, the screen looks like this:-
    -Transactions
         Batches
         Batches Summary
         Transactions Summary
         Credit Transactions
    -Receipts
         Batches
         Batches Summary
         Receipts
         Receipts Summary
         Remittances
         Remittances Summary
    -Lockbox
              Transmission History
              Maintain Transmission Data
    -Collections
         Scheduler
         Customer Calls
         Customer Account
         Account Overview
         Aging
         Correspondence
    -Customers
         Standard
         Quick
         Summary
         Profile Class
         Merge
    and so on.....
In this, there are may be query_only functions created and attached to these menus. I need a report which shows me all the menus, sub-menus, sub-sub-menus and tell whether that is standard or query_only with that prompt description.
    for ex:- output:-
    AR reponsbility | AR_NAVIGATE_GUI | Customers | Standard | Customers-Standard-Query Only
    help appreciated
    thanks
